I had the most amazing experience here! I booked the Everything Combo (2 hours) and it was worth every minute. They started by checking my scalp, followed by an incredible scalp massage, face massage, shoulder massage, and finished with a beautiful blowout. The products they used smelled amazing, and my hair was left so soft and shiny. I was so relaxed that I actually fell asleep during the treatment! The staff were also so kind and welcoming. Never have I been to a head spa so luxurious. I especially loved the Molly Tea refresher while they blew dried my hair! I've been to a few head spa places in the SGV but this one was by far my favorite. You walk up to this unsuspecting 2nd level place in a typical SGV plaza, but what you receive was way more than it looked to be. They had private rooms and shared areas where there was just a curtain separating the different customers. I happen to get just a 1hr service. I had a private room, but could still hear commotion and voices since the door wasn't closed. It's not giving super peaceful immediately, but I certainly know people can relax there because someone was sleeping in the next room probably from their very relaxing head spa service. I didn't mind the noise at all because the service was amazing. At this location they offer the flat beds, which is different from other places where you sit in an awkward massage chair. I liked how they made me feel more comfortable with pillows under my legs. It felt more relaxing to be on a flat bed and they used real massage tools and techniques that I really enjoyed. I felt super relaxed. I got to dip my feet into a foot bath which was nice and refreshing. My head spa service itself was very thorough. I had Summer and thought she did a wonderful job. She was so nice and explained my hair condition so clearly. I had some rather good scores but it's nice they show you before and after the service how my hair cleanliness changed. They even offer to style your hair at the end. I opted for the straight look but some girls next to me got their hair curled. I thought the service would be my favorite part until they took me into the hair drying room. A beautiful tea setup was waiting for me with hot tea and snacks, and they even gave me a Molly Tea drink which I was most surprised at. It was a standard jasmine milk tea but I thought that was a nice touch to offer that in addition to our service. I think that made this location stand out the most. I have been feeling stressed lately. I was temped to try this place because of the good reviews. I tried their scalp hair treatment and ear cleaning. They offered drinks and pastries while I was waiting. The waiting room was pretty calm. They gave me a scalp analysis before my treatment, and I told them my concern about my dry scalp. I was escorted to the hair treatment room, and was provided with a rope to change into. This room does not allow me to soak my feet, but the chair I was sitting on is a massage chair. I was able to enjoy a good body massage throughout my hair treatment. My therapist has great technique. I almost fall asleep. I was provided with Chinese tea, Molly tea, and snacks after my treatment. I was then escorted to a different room for ear cleaning. My therapist told me that my ear is clean, so he gave me more massage on my ear instead. This was a wonderful experience, and I felt more relieved walking out of this place. My mom, sister and I had an amazing experience! We did the 90 minute Royal treatment without the facial, and more massage time. 1st part of the treatment was a scalp analysis where they showed us how dry and flaky our scalps were. Next, they took us into a curtained off area that had our beds for the our treatment and asked us to change into a button wrap around towel. During our foot soak, they covered us in warm blankets and put on a warm eye mask and began using different brushes to gently scrape our scalps. Then the best part - shampooing and conditioning our hair with the most invigorating scalp massage. One of the best I've ever had! They also massaged our necks, and ended our treatment with a nice blow dry. They were very accommodating as well. I requested via text in the morning asking if the 3 of us could sit next to each other, and they made it happen, so if you want to sit next to someone you're going with, know you can ask. I recommend getting there 15 minutes ahead of your appointment to allow time for parking, walk up to the 2nd floor, use the restroom, and change into your towel wrap! This is the second of three head spas that I've tried. This one is differentiated by the emphasis on traditional Chinese decor and the herbal foot bath for your feet to soak in while you are getting your head treatment. Personally, my back cannot handle the configuration of lying down with your knees bent with so your feet can soak in a tub below the table... I think a bonus is that this place is next to the Tibetan Foot Massage place if you wanna make a day of self care followed by some boba and Chinese food cuz this is the area for it. They did a thorough scalp and hair analysis and let me know my scalp was extremely oily (it was gross haha). The scalp massage, hair treatment, shampoo, and restore were all incredible, but Lisa truly made the experience next level. She did a wonderful job and gave me the best neck and scalp massage. I called to ask if we could have our head spas in the same room a day in advance and the lady on the phone was so friendly and scheduled us accordingly. Came and got the 90 minute hair treatment without facial and walked out feeling refreshed with very clean smooth hair. I made an appointment online and put in my deposit. Upon entering the establishment, they will have you take a seat amongst some cool traditional Chinese instrument and furniture to wait your turn. They first analyzed my scalp with a fancy machine where they will show you build up, dandruff, health of your scalp. Who knew your scalp can look dry because you don't sleep enough. Next I was led to a private room to change into a towel wrap. The technician had me lie down and put my feet in a warm tub of water which felt great. The head massage and neck massage was wonderful. I could tell she's trying to work on my knots and I have a lot of knots along my neck and shoulders. The multiple hair wash with the head massages were also wonderful. The pressure my technician used was just right. Hard enough to do good but not enough to be painful. After awhile, they take your feet out of the warm water, wrap in a towel and cover that spot with a cushion. There is a blanket over you so you don't get cold. The eye mask that is heated made me so relaxed. After the hair washing and massages, the have me a robe, grabbed my bag with all my stuff and we headed to another room to blow dry my hair. Then there was a recheck to show my scalp all happy and rejuvenated. I opted not to have my hair styled since I was just going to go home after. Got another round of shoulder and neck massage. Overall clean and great experience. Will this make my hair grow more? I dunno but my hair felt so soft and was so smooth after for a few days. I had the option of selecting which masseuse I wanted to go with so I went with someone whose name was dropped in the reviews often. Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk had assigned someone named Amy to me instead. The entire experience was below average. Everything felt rushed during the hair wash and when it came time to blow drying, my hair was not fully dried and Amy kept putting tools and product onto my hair without an explanation of what it's for and it seemed like she just had to have the items touch my hair for the service to be completed. The high frequency wand she brushed against my hair was barely even working and she had to slap it a couple times. Overall, I would not come back to this place. read more

This was my first time experiencing a scalp massage / treatment so I wasn't too sure what to expect. All I know is that the people in the tik tok videos looked super relaxed, and I wanted to be like them! I did a lot of research before I landed here. My full experience from making an appointment to the end of my service was very pleasant! I was celebrating my birthday here, and the lady on the phone (who spoke good English) was so kind and said she was looking forward to having me come in on my birthday. I had to provide a $20 deposit to secure my appointment, and it was deducted from my total at the end. The place is located on the second floor of a strip mall, in a very Asian-populated area. When I arrived, the nice lady checked me in, and I was introduced to the person providing the treatment. He didn't speak any English, so I had a bit of trouble understanding what I'm looking at during the initial hair analysis, when they took a hand-held wand/camera to show me details of my scalp. All I knew was that it was dirty and it needed to be cleaned! Then I was brought in to the service area, which isn't technically a room but rather a curtain-enclosed area. It didn't feel awkward as it was nicely sectioned off. I opted in to have my treatment done while lying down on the full-body massage chair/bed, which was absolutely glorious! The whole treatment was so soothing and relaxing, that I fell asleep and vaguely remember getting my face mask done! After a glorious 75 or so minutes, I was brought back to the salon area where they dried and lightly styled my hair. Then, he took out the hand wand again to show me my scalp, and lo and behold, it was very clean! My hair also felt thicker in my hands, and very smooth. At the end of the service, the nice lady gave me a small farewell / thank you gift and waved goodbye. This was SUCH a nice experience. I'll probably come back maybe ~6 months or so, and likely bring my mom too. I'd recommend this experience if you're looking to pamper yourself, and just want to relax! read more

First scalp massage, very relaxing, and the service itself was great, however it felt really rushed. My friend booked our appointment at 4 PM for 2 Scalp Royal treatment. Front desk seemed really worried as if they won't be able to accommodate. Well they insisted that I start my service first with the scalp exam while I wait for my friend. The scalp exam lasted less than 1 minute!!! My service lady ended up taking me to the back and started working on my scalp. My friend arrived 10 minutes later and had to wait 20 minutes for someone else to free up to start on her. Supposedly people were late to their appointment which caused a delay. The scalp massage, facial, hair treatment were great, I fell asleep. Just really disappointed in how they handle appointments. If the rule is a 10 minute grace period for appointments, please honor it. This is a luxury service and needs to be treated as such. This was my first time at a head & scalp spa! I opted for the $95 signature package, which includes a hair exam, steam eye mask, foot soak, and hair wash and massage. Location: get there early to find parking! CXG is on the 2nd floor in a busy plaza with many Asian restaurants. The establishment itself is very tidy and clean, and I have no complaints about the service! Head wash: speaking only about the signature package, the 60 min experience was relaxing and I left feeling like my hair was softer and my scalp was cleaner. However, the head wash/massage was only about ~30 minutes, while the drying/styling/misc. took up the remaining time. Although it was an amazing experience for me, I will say that I expected more from the head massage portion as the package felt more like rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat (which I can definitely do myself). Brought my wife here to pamper her to the nice Royal Treatment package. It was 90 minutes of heaven for her. She was well taken care of from head to toe and was constantly given tea and snacks. I went to CXG Scalp Spa with three friends a couple weeks ago for an unusual, indulgent girls' night out. The spa has long hours, and we were able to get the last appointment of the day, at 7:00 on a Wednesday. We all got stuck in traffic and were told, no problem, the appointment can be at 7:15. CXG is in the same large Valley Boulevard strip mall as the noodle shoo Mian. It's a calm little spa with a waiting room, a scalp analysis/blowout room, and a spacious treatment room with several beds separated by privacy curtains. We were welcomed with tea and an array of little candies, then led inside to get our scalps examined. This part was interesting and unexpected. We took turns sitting in salon chairs and watching as the staff put cameras in our hair and showed the live close-ups on a giant monitor. We got to see what was going on deep in each other's roots--one of us was tired, with tiny red veins rising to the surface; everyone had some grease and gray hair. I was apparently dirty, in need of a deep clean. In my defense, I did not shower that day, figuring washing my own hair before a visit to a head spa would be like pre-gaming an open bar. After this, we received the CXG signature 90-minute scalp care and facial. I don't know what all was happening that whole time, as I was relaxing with my eyes closed and possibly snoring throughout the treatment. But it was amazing, a pleasurable sequence of washing and massage, with a variety of products and implements. The facial component was equally luxurious, and I loved the neck and shoulder massage that came with the treatment. One tip--you start with your feet in a water bath, and the angle can be kind of uncomfortable. You can remove your feet and lay them out whenever you want, and your attendant will immediately cover the tub so the whole thing becomes a massage bed. When the treatment was over, we went back to the scalp cams and oohed and aahed over how healthy and clean our heads had become. Then we got blowouts so we could go eat our 9:30 Taiwanese dinner with bare faces and gorgeous hair. The CXG experience took over two hours, all told, and every minute of it was thoroughly enjoyable. The treatment cost $135, which felt reasonable for the amount of labor, and we were able to pay and tip on VenMo. The staff was fantastic, friendly and skillful. The owner Anne was super nice, as was Betty, the woman who spent 90 minutes of her life pampering me. (A shout-out to Amy, too, from my friend Jade.)
