I do not recommend Cycle Center of Denton for BMW motorcycle sales or service. After years of giving this shop the benefit of the doubt, I've consistently left frustrated, confused, or disappointed. My most recent experience sealed the deal--I won't be returning. I was interested in purchasing a BMW R1300GS and considered trading in my side-by-side, which already had multiple strong offers elsewhere. I chose to visit Cycle Center last only because they carry BMWs. During the test ride, I noticed the quick shifter wasn't working properly. The salesman brushed it off like it was nothing, and their trade-in offer was so low it felt insulting. I walked out. Later, they called me back with a better offer, so I gave them another chance and returned to look at another R1300GS. This second bike was missing factory-included bar risers (part of the Enduro Package), and again, the same salesman just shrugged it off. That was enough--I found a bike elsewhere. When I brought my new R1300GS (purchased out of state) in for its first service before a major 5,000-mile trip, their service department incorrectly claimed my front brake lever was affected by a recall and had failed a safety check. That's not what anyone wants to hear before a long ride. But when I had the bike checked in New York and again during its 6,000-mile service, both dealers confirmed it was not affected by the recall--just as I had already read in the official BMW bulletin. Even worse, the service manager at Cycle Center had the audacity to ask me to bring the bike back so they could use it to train their tech. That's unacceptable--I already wasted hours traveling out of state to confirm their mistake, and I told them clearly that they wouldn't be touching my bike again. A week later, someone from their department called again about the same nonexistent recall. The disorganization and incompetence are unreal. To make matters worse, I've spoken with former employees who shared that management refuses to negotiate prices because "someone will buy it eventually." Sure, that might be true, but it's a poor way to run a business in a competitive market. Ironically, while I waited for one of my test rides, I overheard a salesperson bashing SLM--one of the most straightforward dealers in the region. The lack of professionalism was astounding. Bottom line: Cycle Center of Denton doesn't properly PDI their bikes, their staff lacks knowledge of BMW motorcycles, and they do not value your time. I went here as they where closest to me and hand some good reviews, I gave a cash budget out the door but was shown used atv over which was fine I was willing to spend more if it was what I wanted, only sat in one tub and shown 4 used and left outside with no real detail garret was held it went inside. The second guy to help was super nice actually and took me in sat with me and gave wonderful info. I explained when garret came back I need to discuss the prices with my daughters and they where able to find what we where looking for but further distances etc. But since I did tell garret I would give him my business I wanted to do that so I sent him a atv I actually had the pleasure to ride which was a Kawasaki new and in my price range out the door, he told me they had better bikes in same amount and he would match there price c with better deal, I asked what's the better deal for something I want bs what I don't want he said $1 difference and said it's not fair if I gave the other place my busy-when I promised him. He sent me pictures and said the out the door price would be I believe right under $7600. But I explained work and they close before I'm off and I also had to get trailer but would still want to see in person. We went through this for day I caved and said ok but still need to see in person. The day I went I text multiple times and maintained communication from. Up trailer and on way, unfortunately brain out of gas and explained this to him and continued to text. At the end he no longer text so I called and told the guy we was speaking and I would get there 2 min after closing for cash deal he said it was ok still come, mind you I communicated the min I ran out of gas and anytime garret could have said no let's reschedule. However they said come in. I get there 2 min after closing goes he will come outside to talk to me I was so ext to buy, he comes outside and say "what are we doing" I said hopefully buying he goes you sure? I said yes cash but I still want to see it or sit on it. He walks me in and shows me atv 2000 and more that what we discussed and says he doesn't have the one's we discussed anymore. But why didn't you say this when you begged me to come in multiple times I would not have even come. I waisted my time and he talked as though I was irritating him and didn't have money. Said he would find something else and didn't hear from him so.... Cycle Center of Denton has a motorcycle advertised sales price of $4600 minus $250 for a military discount, a price of $4,350. What they don't tell you until later is they are adding $1300 for freight and another $800 for setup. That equates to another ~40% add on to the price that is not listed anywhere on their website. When asked about it they simply say that all the other dealers do not show add on either as if that is justification. Basically come is and get shocked when you see the purchase paperwork for the first time. Any question why so many hate dealers? We need to change the law to allow us to purchase directly from the manufacturer like in Europe. read more

He explained a lot about the motorcycles and helped my son choose something that was safe. I was very afraid for my young, son to buy a motorcycle. Bret treated us like family and relieved my stress. Salesman was good, they hit you hard when you add on accessories though. Test drives are a joke- you get to travel 40 feet in the parking lot. Worst part was the finance guy- I came prepared to pay cash and he tried to wring me out completely by demanding I finance it and wanted me to buy an extremely costly maintenance package. I must say I had a minor issue with these guys. But after I was contacted by the Service Manager (Mark) the negative experience and overcharge was made right. I was assured that that is not the way they do business and they wanted to earn my business. After speaking with them I do feel more comfortable giving them another chance on either of my Bikes. Will try them again soon. Update; Driving down the 35 at 6 am my lights went out on my Bike. Thank God I made it to work ok in the dark lol. After work I immediately went DCC and told them what happened. They had me in and out within the hour and even installed a drink holder that I bought while I was waiting. Free fix vs $3,000 fix? You be the judge. Quoted us a $3,000 repair bill on a $5,000 Polaris Sportsman we bought from them a couple of years ago. Needed a carb job, new starter, and a new battery, they said. Eventually found on our own that the reason it wouldn't start was a kinked gas line and a sluggish battery. Now it's running great. We've liked the idea of patronizing a family-owned business. However, working with a flat-out unethical business is off the table, for us. No more. Regret that I'm unable to give a zero-star rating. Also a couple of years ago, we bought a new Polaris RZR from them. Drove it 20 yards down a flat off-road trail near Valley View, and a wheel fell off the axle. No joke. Nice guys on the trail helped us load it back on the trailer to get it back to Cycle Center just before closing so they could fix their half-@ssed assembly job. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Before you bring your vehicle in for service or trade, READ THIS FIRST. I brought in my Polaris 4 wheeler for trade. Unfortunately, instead of a decent offer, I was handed a work order for $3,000. The repairs listed as necessary included a new battery, a carb job, and a new stater. They then reluctantly offered me $500 for my trade. After little consideration, I picked up my vehicle and brought it over to a friends house to be repaired. After just a few minutes of checking things out, he found that the fuel line was twisted and only needed to be straightened out. Then then charged the battery and it has been running perfectly. It goes without saying that I feel totally screwed, taken advantage of, and extremely disappointed. I actually bought the 4 wheeler from Cycle Center of Denton AND had a carb job in the past from them on this same vehicle. Today was probably my last visit to Cycle Center of Denton. They have become too expensive for me to get my bike serviced here. When an oil change on a Suzuki costs $150, and replacing tires is $220 for labor only, it's time to find another shop. I have absolutely zero complaints about the service I receive. I went to this KTM store and bought my motorcycle, 450 XCF-W 2023. One week later i discovered that there was a promo for 1.5k$ in KTM accessories upon buying that motorcycle sponsored by KTM. At the beginning I had a difficult time trying to reedem the promo by a salesman but then the owner took the lead and was amazing. He was able to apply the promo and refound me from previous accesory purchases from when i bought the motorcicle. I look on line, see what they have and if interested, go to the store and check it out. Sales people are not pushy, they do ask questions but that's what their there to do, sell inventory. I appreciate having this dealership located in Denton, carrying so many different brands of bikes and their air conditioned building. I can't tell you how many times I could get a part same day or next from Amazon but called this Cycle Center to support local business for a common part that spans multiple powersports models and years that would take 2 cubic inches of shelf space just to be told they do not have it in stock but can order it for me in like 4 days. Why would I do you the favor or waiting 3 extra days for a very common and small part tat you didn't bother to ensure remained in stock. Brick and mortar stores have to realize the only way they are going to remain relevant in this Amazon era is by taking care of their walk-in customers same day. I recently was looking to upgrade motorcycles and visited Cycle Center of Denton looking for a particular type of bike. Josh Howard pulled from their showroom a bike and brand I was less familiar with for a demo ride. I've been almost exclusively on Hondas for 40 years and this BMW was different from those. But I was sold after the demo ride. He was patient with my questions and even more so with my travel schedule which meant I only had small windows of availability for them to work around. He arranged the accessories I asked for and to have them installed. Handover was painless and informative. I hadn't originally planned to finance the bike, using proceeds from the sale of a previous bike, but Zac arranged financing that was pretty much a no-brainer. And he structured a maintenance and warranty plan that met my needs. On the whole, a great experience. read more

The short: We gave them plenty of chances, always left us out to dry. Poor service and low competence. The Long: Dropped off a bike recently for electrical repair and two other very small things. When I picked it up, the bike was dead and the two small things had not been addressed. They forgot to replace the battery, even though I reminded them. Thought the 2+ weeks they had my bike, there was poor to no communication. I had to consistently call and baby them along. Honestly, I don't feel safe riding any of the vehicles they worked on. In Summary: We have spent way to much money here. Bought 5 vehicles and 10s of thousands of dollars in repairs. We will never come here again. The crew was super nice but they tried to sell me a used bike, that obviously looked as though it was ridden pretty hard, priced higher than a new bike. I tried to get them to drop the price by $300 and they declined and let me walk out But told me they would throw in a tee shirt. DIRT BIKE SERVICE: Brought my dirt bike in for service, when I received the bike back, my flap, air cleaner which while not new - but was in excellent condition - was replaced with this piece of junk that had holes in it and looked like it was in a fire. It was mangled.... See the pictures....It cost me $32 to get it replaced with a new one....totally unacceptable, removing parts that by the way had nothing to do with the area or issue they were fixing. Stay away from the "Lifetime battery warranty" I have purchased two ATV's from Denton Cycle Center. Had really good experience with them until this past week. When I purchased my last ATV I also purchased the lifetime battery replacement warranty. When my ARV battery went bad I contacted them. I was told I had to bring in the ATV and have the charging system checked. I told them the ATV was 150 miles away at my hunting lease. I had the old battery with me but was told I could not "Just exchange it".. The person said without bringing in the ATV I could not get the battery replaced.. Over the past week I have been in talks to purchase a new bike and trade in my old one. I get a ball park figure, work with my own bank for the finances. Since my bank is closed on the day I'm arriving I work out a pre approval loan and Cycle Center originally said that was good enough to pick up the bike (hard numbers would be worked out depending on trade in). I drive 5 hours over to them just to be low balled on my trade in, but we finally agree on the price. Then they say my pre approval letter isn't good enough because Matty from Cycle Center forgot to call my bank during their business hours and verify anything. Matty and Alyssa both were pushing their own financing saying they can match or even beat my bank's APR%. I play ball and apply for their financing. Twenty minutes later they come back saying I'm approved but with TRIPLE THE APR%!!! At that point I got up, grabbed my key and title for my old bike and left. Cycle Center of Denton is more interested in selling loans with high APR% rather than actual bikes. The only person that made me feel like a customer was the salesman. The finance department just treated me like another number and was being very shady during the process. Ten hours out of my way wasted. Would give them zero stars if I could. I showed up on Saturday afternoon and the dealership showroom was busy, but soon after I arrived an individual named Matty greeted me and was able to help me decide the best dirt bikes for my son and myself. I told him I needed to think about it and left. I texted him the following week and was able to work a deal over text and just one phone call. No games played, short and sweet. When I showed up to finalize the deal I was able to leave with two bikes within about 1.5 hours which included all the paperwork, meeting the Service department manager to go over the bike operations, and loading them up. I visited this esteemed dealer of moto sport vehicles on Saturday April 27th at around 9:50 am. We sat on some bikes and figured out what we wanted to try. I talk to the rep about a few bikes and how they're different. At this point I'm pretty sure I've been on more bikes than he has... not very confidence inspiring considering I've never even owned a motorcycle. When we started the process of a test ride, the usual things were asked for, license, sign the waiver, and motorcycle insurance. Wait. Motorcycle insurance? I've never been asked for that? Okay... since I don't own a bike I dont have insurance. I was informed that I would have to stay in the parking lot since I had no insurance. Kind of lame but okay, I wanted to try some small displacement bikes anyway. So here's where it gets fun. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. Looked at gear, more bikes, more crap. 10:50 am rolls around and there's no motorcycle ready for anyone in my group of 3 riders.... an hour? A fucking hour to ride? What? We walk outside and waited some more. We're approached by the sales rep "oh your bike will be ready in 2 minutes" good. I'm tired of waiting. 10 more minutes, no communication and we leave. We received a text at 1130 saying 2 of our 3 bikes are ready.... bruh, I'm already at home, out of my gear, and getting ready to write this review full well knowing I'll never buy a bike at your dealership. I'll be in South Ft Worth getting a bike from the place that had me rolling within 15 minutes of walking in. The place where the sales rep knew more about motorcycles than a rookie rider. I called the service department on Tuesday morning and made an appointment for Wed 10:00 AM and indicated I would like the bike back before Sunday and he indicated it should not be a problem. So I dropped my bike Wed about 10:00am with Ryan and his initial estimate was around $950. He told me he would call me later. At 3:00pm I still had not heard from him so I called him. He told me they had been busy and my bike had not been looked at and no firm estimate made. I stopped by after work and he printed me a copy and the $950 turned into $1,350 and I agreed but indicated I wanted the bike by Sat evening. Since I work in a bike shop I offered to order any parts necessary and provide them. I called mid day Friday and left a message since no one would answer the phone and Ryan called me back about an hour later and my bike had still not been touched or looked at. I had an appointment for 10:00 am Wednesday and now it is Friday and the bike has not been touched. This is terrible customer service. My wife warned me about this place and my previous experience here was bad as well. There will not be a third time. Then if you try to talk to management they are unavailable. read more

My experience at this place was not very good. I went in here to buy a new Victory Highball. They had one and even made me a decent offer on my trade. My credit was not epic, but not too bad, just in between. I had cash to put down, several thousand from the sale of another bike (they didn't know it, but I had the cash with me). The problem was they acted like they didn't want to sell me anything, even before checking my credit situation. One problem was it was the day before July 4th. It was almost the end of the day (I think they had an hour left) and they all just wanted to get the hell out of there. Understandable, but if there's a deal to be made, why not stick around and make the deal happen? A couple of the staff members were very nice, which is worth mentioning, but if they don't want to sell me anything then what's the point? I even tried calling them again the next week, but they just couldn't be bothered to make it happen. They just quit calling me back. A month later I went to Freedom Powersports and bought the exact same bike from them instead. I rode in with one bike and out with the other. I just rode in on a whim. I thought after my bad experience with Cycle Center, surely this other place can't help me. It took three hours on a Saturday after all of the banks were closed and they made the deal happen, no problem. The funniest part about this story is Cycle Center has the same bike I looked at back then STILL for sale and discounted a couple of thousand dollars as I write this post. Terrible customer service. Stood around for quite sometime before anybody offered to help. I have bought multiple vehicles for my farm use and had all my service done at this place, have never had a single issue using my ag tax exemption. Not once have I presented a physical card. They wanted my physical card Which is not required I showed them on the Texas Comptroller website a copy of my card which is what I use everywhere with no issues. They declined to accept it and I immediately went to O'Reilly's walked out with a tax free battery in five minutes. My business will now be going elsewhere. I want to give a fair review for them, and as background I have bought one motorcycle from them, and attempted to buy a second a couple years later. Overall, I was quite disappointed this time. On the good side, the people are friendly, the business is well laid out and I feel they have a pretty good selection in stock. Also, I felt their sales prices were fair. On the bad side, the salesman I had this time knew absolutely NOTHING about the bike I was interested in. Friendly, but unfortunately useless (he did ultimately find someone more helpful). Worse, I came for a test ride of a touring bike (arranged it in advance and explained what I wanted to test), and found out (unlike Harley or BMW) that they limit test rides to less than 5 miles and only on their approved course. You WILL NOT be permitted to ride long enough to warm up the bike and will not be permitted to ride it on the highway to assess engine heat, noise, helmet buffeting, etc. For me, those are deal breakers. If you know exactly what bike you want and don't have any questions and don't need a test ride, then they are fine. read more

DISHONESTY at it's absolute worst. They shroud themselves in the "Family Owned", "We're so wonderful and honest" cloak, but they are the precise opposite. They advertised a used Honda Rancher for sale and told me it was in "Great Condition". The salesperson Josh told me it was going through an inspection process and that they only purchase ATV's that have been well taken care of. I was buying my 11 year old son his first 4 Wheeler and I told Josh that. When I got it home, the electronic shift didn't work, won't go into the next gear, leaks gas bad, and the lights don't work. Poor business ethics and very shady operation. Saw an ad for a used Polaris rzr on atvtrader.com. The unit was listed at 7999.00. Being from out of state and unable to look at the machine I called and asked for pictures and a final price. Pictures were sent in a few hours but it took me calling back the next day to get the final price. Salesman told me that after speaking with his manger the price for unit was 8176.00 after their fees. I told him I wanted to buy it, had the cash to do a wire transfer and would figure out the shipping. I only requested the unit be inspected for damage before the purchase was finalized. The salesman told me it shouldn't be a problem and the machine was so new they still had to inspect it. I offered to put money down to hold it and was told they don't do that. I was told I would get a call back after a manager meeting that was happening that night. Two days later I call them and I am told that they now want 9,000 for the machine before their fees. How can you list your machine on line for a price, tell me over the phone how much it would cost, and after I say I want to purchase it charge me $1000.00 more. you misrepresented the price and then decided to charge me an extra thousand dollars knowing that I was ready to buy it. This machine is still listed on atvtrader.com for 7999. Seems like your ethics are pretty bad if your telling someone a price and then trying to charge them more after they already agreed to buy it. read more
