They contribute to the motorcycle community more than just selling gear. They hold events frequently and have some knowledgeable employees who are very friendly. I go here all the time. Sometimes to get something I need real quick, sometimes just to look. Everytime I go though, I feel like the trip was worth it. One thing that really stuck out was one of the employees here. Shorter bearded dude. I was looking to get a new helmet. I have really bad cauliflower ears from wrestling/fighting that make helmet selection really difficult. I didnt want a modular, so I had to learn some things. This guy really knew his stuff when it came to helmet fit, design, and pros/cons of different models. He spent about 20 minutes helping me. It didnt feel like he was just doing it because its his job. It really just felt like 2 dudes talking about stuff and shooting the breeze. When I left, I felt like my knowledge of helmets increased ten fold from his guidance. Just as a write that, when I walked out I talked to another employee who told me to buy an Arai over a Bell because if I crash, the air vents on Bells fail and fly off. I had to laugh at that. I would guess they are on commission haha. I forgo'd the $800 Arai that didnt fit and went with a Z1R with Snell rating that fits like a champ. Honestly, just knowing they have employees there like the guy who helped me really compels me to hand them my business. Tried on a few pieces, and made my decision as soon as I put the one on. Bilt brand had a matching jacket the same color as my bike, so it was an easy decision once I got the right size. I just stopped by here the other day. It is in a mostly empty shopping center, across from the Meadows Mall. They had some good deals on jackets going on. I picked up one and am very happy with it. They sell most accessories for bikes and all the gear you need. They do not sell bikes. The only work they will do is mount tires for you, and you have to take the wheel off the bike yourself. They did not have many cruiser style boots to pick from. Most of them were street or dirt. read more

This place has horrible customer service every time we have come here. Due to the limited places in Las Vegas to get services/ products we have been here a few times. We bought a new tire costing over $150 today for our Yamaha R6 and the guy working there said they would be able to go ahead and mount the new tire on the rim for me no problem. Called later that day to confirm and they said it would be an additional $25 charge. This place already over charges for everything. Ridiculous with the money spent here they don't offer simple services for free. read more

I needed to mount two tires onto brand new wheels, just install and balance. I call ahead and talk to someone over the phone who indicated $30 per wheel. I thought it was a little pricey but well need it done. When I get there they switched the price to $50 per wheel, once again brand new rims without tires on it so just mounting required. Their explanation is for dot tires they charge more, I asked it's exactly the same work what's the difference? It's company policy replied. At this point I was point I'm pretty upset but again have them the ok and told them I'll be waiting at the parking lot for them. While there 3 business down I noticed a small shop called moto monkeyz. 1/2 hour goes by and get a call from cycle gear saying they can't mount my back tire because the inner tube is too small and it could pop while trying to seat the bead. At this point I had enough, told them to give me my tires they insisted in mounting the front for $50 of course I said no. Walked 30 feet to moto monkeyz ask how much $45 for both, how long 20 minutes. I received excellent service from them, gave him additional $35. Never again will be buying anything from cycle gear! I have 13 bikes, my whole family rides, constantly needing parts, gear. Much rather give my money to a small owner operated business where they appreciate you as their customer. read more

I needed a space helmet, or more specifically, my husband needed a space helmet. No, I am not planning on launching him into space. It's a vision we had for a photo shoot, and no, not that type of photo shoot. Okay, this is hard to explain, but he needed a helmet. We thought a costume shop would be the obvious answer, but after scouting the options available, we decided perhaps a straight up motorcycle helmet would be cheaper and cooler. We descended upon Cycle Gear on a quest for some "out of this world" head protection. The store is much bigger than I anticipated, and hence, I would say they have a great selection. They had an entire wall covered with a wide variety of motoring helmets at a wide range of price points. We scoped the inventory for a while before a helpful associated asked if we needed some assistance. I appreciated the non-pushy approach. We told him we were looking for a space helmet, and he didn't even laugh, really. We were able to find a helmet sufficiently space looking for around $60, and the entire experience was pleasant. Who knew gear shopping could be so much fun. I've recently started riding, and visited this location on multiple occasions, each time has always been a good experience. Being a newbie, I was worried about sounding like a dumbass trying to find gear, but these guys are anything but jerks and helped me out a lot. My first time coming in here was about a month ago, when I bought a helmet and gloves for the safety classes I was taking at CSN. I forgot the guys name (short guy, beard-ish) but he was helpful and knowledgeable on helmets and worked within my price range, yet something that was good quality. The next time I came here, a couple weeks ago, I got a Dainese jacket and matching boots. The guy that showed me where everything was, (Hyrum? Hydem? Something like that) was awesome. He was nice even though it was pretty obvious I had no idea what I was doing and helped me pick out and put in a back protector. I thought it was super cool of him to go out of his way to make sure I knew what I was getting and why. So now I can't stop buying Dainese crap and decided I wanted to get some pants too, cause you know, no such thing as too much protection and all that jazz. Always great customer service. I've been in twice to exchange batteries and each time its been friendly service, and the battery warranty honored quickly and new replacements prepped and ready to go. Prices seem pretty fair, and if you sign up for the catalog/newsletter, they have some excellent sales always on. Those prices are pretty good and I've taken advantage of them before to get a riding jacket with built in protective pads for a really great price. A friend of mine took me over to cycle gear so I could get sized for a helmet and jacket. Upon walking in, the staff was very friendly and immediately assisted me. They sent me over to the helmet section and someone was there waiting to help me! Sadly, the helmet I was looking for (Icon Airmada in rubatone) was not in stock. They let me know they could order any helmet or jacket I wanted though, so that made me feel much better! Since they weren't carrying that particular model, they let me try on other Icon helmets to figure out my size. Besides letting me try it on, they let me walk around the store with it for a few minuted so I could see if it was a good, true fit! Next stop was the jackets section. I was a little disappointed that there weren't many women's jackets on display, but the staff immediately put me at ease by letting me know I could order any jacket off their catalogs, and they would have it in a matter of a couple days! They seem to have the most merchandise in hand compared to other shops and always have a variety of selections of gears, parts, clothings, accessories, you name it! And if they dont, they can order it for you and it'll be ready to be picked up in a few days. If you don't like it for any reason, no worries... easy return! MUCH larger location than the Pecos, but it feels like a lot of wasted opportunity because (1) it is a disorganized mess and (2) it's "Bilt" (their house brand) as far as the eye can see. I am currently in a Bilt jacket, gloves, and boots. It's generally disappointing and I won't buy it again. That's about all this location has to offer. The few things I might have bought, like some Icon gloves, Aplinestars boots, were extremely limited in options and again, entirely disorganized. Just boxes randomly lining the boot wall. Not organized by brand, type, size, anything. Just grab a box you see in your size and prepare for the surprise! It's just rack after rack of Bilt. They may as well give it up and change the name to the Bilt store. (The Pecos location is just much better organized so I know it can be done!) read more

Been here quite a few times since my husband purchased a new adventurer Yamaha motorcycle last month. Before he had a very sporty bike that I refused to ride on. Now, with the new motorcycle, there is actually a place for me to sit, and you can sit up-right on the bike while it is going down the road. Although I am nowhere near as enthralled with motorcycles as my husband, I can appreciate a store such as Cycle Gear for all your motorcycling needs. The store is a good size, with walls filled with helmets, boots, and the floor has all kinds of motorcycle apparel. Really I just needed the basics, so I got a motorcycle jacket and some gloves. The gloves were on sale, and the jacket was just around $100 -- so not as bad as I had imagined it would be on my wallet. We also returned here to upgrade my husband's helmet and I got his as a hand-me-down. Probably someday I will venture to get my own helmet, but for now my husband's couple year old SHOEI will work. Staff has always been very friendly AND very helpful AND very knowledgeable about all the products. They will also offer to special order things for you and have them shipped to the store. Military discounts are available on certain items, so ask for it if you are military. I am sure I will see a whole lot more of this store as I know my husband will be riding his motorcycle for a long time to come. read more

I went into the store and James had to try and track them down as they were a limited release. He found out they didn't have any more left, but still took the initiative to dig a little deeper. He asked for my info and the size I was looking for, I left and a while later he called to say that he did find one pair of the size I needed, it was at a warehouse location, but it wasn't in the system (which is why he said they didn't have any more).
