I finally found a shop that is honest, professional, and skilled in driveline, steering and brake repairs. They balanced my driveshaft, replaced the u-joints, replaced my inner and outer tie rods, replaced my steering gear box, and found a problem with my parking brake shoe on my 2002 Tahoe. Update to my review, my truck has not driven past 1000 miles since last service with them and it has already started leaking transfer case oil. I am informed that it's an output seal that needs to be replaced and it's going to $112 for them to do the work. When I asked, why this part replaced when my truck was in for service less than a month ago, their response was "We didn't have time". My truck was in their shop for 5 days. Which they assured me the job would take them 2-3 days. I guess I was wrong about them being honest and reliable. I prefer not taking my vehicles to a shop because it is hard to trust anyone, but Dan's Driveline Repair is one of few who I trust with my truck. They are always busy which is a good and or bad sign depending on what repair or service is required. I took my Tundra to get the tranny output shaft seal replaced and/or serviced. I dropped my truck off after being placed on a month waiting list and after a few days I was told it was ready for pick up. Pricing was very reasonable and the staff are incredibly friendly and funny. Shoutout to my boy Ryan (Shreddy) in the front for providing excellent customer service and will follow up with you via phone call even if another member contacts you already. Mark was also very pleasant and such a nice genuine guy. After less than a week I noticed a small leak on my driveway and saw it was coming from the output shaft area again. Gave them a call and was told to bring it back again for inspection. Another few days later I picked up my truck, but a few days again it started to leak. Ryan took it upon himself to get me in ASAP and have them resolve the issues so I do not have to come back again. The bossman Brick worked on my truck and showed me step by step via photos what he did and saw what the issue was. **UPDATE** Came to that time to change the fluid after the break-in process. During that time I noticed one of my bolts from my differential cover was missing and replaced with a hex head bolt. While that's not detrimental, I wish I was advised of that at least. Secondly, after removing my differential cover and drained the fluid, I noticed right there on the posi unit was stamped "Made in Taiwan." After reaching out to the shop for answers, the owner informed me that the posi unit was NOT a cheap alternate however, the company Eaton has unfortunately outsourced some items (hence the made in Taiwan stamp). Anyway, other than that, everything seemed alright except for the gear noise nuisance. Thanks again to all the guys at Dan's! read more

I'm so incredibly disappointed with Brick, the owner/manager of Dan's Driveline (he inherited the business from his uncle, who is Dan). I vetted the relationship with Brick for over a year, and spent over $10k with him. Sadly, that relation just ended, and let me tell you why. When I brought my vehicle to Brick, he quoted me $4500 for the work that needed to be done. When I arrived to pick it up, the invoice was $9,200. Not once did Brick tell me it would be more money. His reason was, "it took me more time because I had to do [this and that]." Brick knew I was undergoing cancer treatment at the time, which meant I had to ask my wife to use her credit card. She was not happy at all, but Brick said, "I'll just hold on to the vehicle until you can pay the bill." Honestly, I should have ended the relationship then and sued him. I would have won, but I decided to invest in the relationship. Well, a few months later the 4x4 shifter Brick installed melted. He installed it too close to the exhaust. I got stuck on the side of the road, with my family, on Mt. Charleston. Brick told me it was warranty work so I should bring it in and he will take care of it. After several months of waiting, finally, Brick said to bring it in. He said it would take an hour so I waited. 2.5 hours later, he texts me - does not even come up to the front to talk to me - that I have to pay for both his labor and the part. I texted him back, asking reasonably what about the warranty work, and he tells me it's not covered. He basically reinstalled it exactly the way it was in the first place - that failed. Then, in the most shocking display of childish behavior, Brick brings my vehicle back behind the gate, removes the part, tears up the invoice, and says, "take your vehicle someplace else." I really liked Brick so it pains me to have to sue him and tell this story, but what happened is inexcusable. So here we are. 1-star. You can't trust someone who charges, overcharges, and throws temper tantrums. read more

Brick and the techs at Dan's Driveline have done it again: super competent mechanical service and custom skills to boot on my new '70 Camaro project! They replaced missing clutch pedal bits, missing posi parts in the rear end, and modded and fabricated the shifter so it not only looks better, but sits at a perfect default 1st gear angle. The car now rips off the line with the fresh posi, the clutch action is back to normal, and the new shifter feels and looks sweet. All in all, the drive feel of this car is 100% better, and that's exactly what a driveline shop should be about. I couldn't be happier and I look forward to bringing my next project here to sort out. Took F150 Ford truck to have rear bearings checked and seals replaced. I was quoted $360. I was called and told brakes were bad, I agreed to additional parts and price. I was told that both bearings were bad and the bearings were $22 each. A couple of hours later I was called and told that they quoted wrong bearings. The right bearings were $60 each I expressed to Ryan that I did not appreciate the change in price, I told him, you guys are the experts you do hundreds of F150 trucks and you can't quote the right price ? I paid a total of $580 + and do not get a warm feeling about this shop I will not return. The work I assume is good quality, the customer service and pricing is a little shakey. Quote a correct price and realize that the customer has to believe that the information and prices quoted are based on your expertise and stand by what you told the customer. read more

1st time using Dan's Driveline. My Jeep had multiple leaks from rear end seals. I received and approved an estimate for the work necessary, before they proceeded with the repairs. I was pleasantly surprised when my final bill was actually less than the estimate. This may be a first for me! It seems that one of the seals that was originally diagnosed with a leak was actually fine. They just needed to replace a bolt. I swapped a light duty differential to a heavy duty differential in my Silverado and the joint from drive shaft to differential didn't match. they got me going with a u joint for the exact swap I did , pressed it in for me . Got referred to Dan's Driveline by Las Vegas Transmission Co. after I incorrectly diagnosed what I thought was a transmission problem. Turned out to be a problem with my differential. Had an awesome interaction with Mark and Ryan at the shop desk, and Brick, who test drove my vehicle and quickly diagnosed the problem. I left the vehicle with them for the day and by the next morning I had a quote for repairs. The repairs took another day, but considering what needed to be repaired this was fair. While waiting for my vehicle at pickup, I had another friendly interaction with Mark and Ryan, and inquired as to whether or not I could have my old parts to satisfy my own curiosity about how differentials work and how they break down. Ryan did me one better and got Craig, the mechanic who worked on my truck, to come up and explain what he repaired and why he repaired it. They showed me the differences between the new differential they installed and the factory one that failed, and gave me the parts as requested. These guys are top notch. Got a couple hundred miles on the new rearend and no issues to speak of. I will definitely come back for any future driveline repairs, and would gladly refer anyone I know to Dan's Driveline should they have the need. Thanks fellas! read more

This review is for this shop's knowledge, immediacy, and prices. I recently took my '04 Tacoma to Dan's Driveline with some vibrational issues during deceleration. Dropped it off on Tuesday picked it up on Thursday and couldn't be happier. Knowledge, 5 stars- Prior to dropping the truck off the mechanic, Brick, and I took a test drive to help diagnose the vehicle. I had previously looked under the truck and found the center support bearing was deteriorating and the driveshaft was loose. Brick was able to experience the vibrations first hand and within 45 minutes identified the issue as a worn flange/yolk going into the center support bearing as well as the bearing itself. Expert knowledge. Immediacy, 4 stars- I called on a Friday and was able to get in the shop the following Tuesday/Wednesday. The wait is to be expected given the demand for knowledgeable mechanics. Only reason this is a 4 star rating is they were able to disassemble the shaft and bearing in less than an hour on Tuesday morning. My appointment was not until Wednesday which they said the truck would be done at 5pm. Come 4pm Wednesday the truck wasn't ready but I was able to pick it up 9am the next morning, Thursday. Pricing, 5 stars- The dealership wanted $290.00 just for the support bearing (parts only). Dan's Driveline quoted $325 out the door parts, re-balance (driveshaft), lube, and labor for the support bearing and flange. Their honest and reasonable. Overall- I recommend this shop to anyone with driveshaft issues. The team has expert knowledge and experience. Not to mention they cleaned all the dust and dirt off the driveshaft, it looks brand new :). read more

My 2000 Toyota 4Runner had vibration a month ago. Took it to two well known mechanic shops on spring mtn both specialists on Japanese vehicle. First mechanic said every parts of front suspension need to replace. Cost $2300. Of course I needed second opinion Took it to second mechanic also on spring mtn. Suggested replacing motor and transmission mounts cost $530. So I agreed since this is 20 years old truck. But unfortunately vibration still going on after replacement. Finally I called Dan's driveline made an appointment but two weeks out. Fast forward this morning 8a. Brick got me in with friendly and knowledgeable attention. Told him what was going on with my truck. Gave me a quote. He test drive it and start working right of way. Finished it in 2 hours replaced two u joints,balance drive shaft , and change differential fluid. And best part ...the total cost actually less than the quote. I'm super happy with their service honesty. It's a bit drive for me (25 miles from my house). But hey you want someone knows what they are doing and not sell you things you don't need. This is the shop. Only thing I regret was forgot transmission fluid change. I will have to make another appointment. read more
