I arrived at the Pinellas Park location at 1445hrs today with the hope of purchasing a new helmet. As I walked in there was one employee on duty providing customer service to one other customer in the store. I looked at the helmets on display and within 10 mins another 4 or 5 other customers entered the store. As the employee finished with his original customer he went immediately to a couple of female customers and assisted them. I waited until he was completed assisting the females and attempted to get service by asking a question. He answered as he walked towards another customer that had arrived after me. It was not like he was unaware I needed service because I stood near him while he worked with other customers. The common theme I saw was the other 6 customers in the store were more the employees age. I am 59 years old and feel disrespected and ignored by the employee on duty. I finally had to force a question and asked him if he had a particular helmet size in the back. He said he would check. When he returned he said he didn't have it a went immediately to assist other customers that also arrived after me. I left the store and found no consistency to the positive reviews Cycle Gear has received based on my own experience. This was my first time at this location and unfortunately it will be my last. I feel they don't deserve my business because of their poor customer service. read more

i have always had pretty good customer service at this store but there are 2 things that just bug the crap out of me. 1) its damn near impossible to find anything. I'm not sure who on the corporate level make the merchandising plans but shit is spread all over the place. 2) here is my big one BILT. yeah there house brand of equipment. it started off small but it has taken over the whole store. its damn near impossible to find gear that isn't BILT brand anymore in the store. sure they still carry some shoei and aria helmets but even that is dwindling. want boots,gloves, jacket good luck. Sure they can order it for you and it really does come in quick but i want that stuff now. i want to try it on first not order it try it on then return it and order again. read more

I walk Cycle Gear at least once a month minimum just because of the stuff they put on sale. I don't ever really need anything, but for the right price ill pretty much buy anything if its a "deal". Super knowledgeable staff and is always helpful. I have had tires mounted here pretty reasonable cost, picked up boots and gloves for great deals, and even had an experience with a pair of gloves where the stitching was coming apart and they took them and replaced them no questions asked (now that's service). I buy all my oil change and chain servicing items here because i like to give them the business for my regular purchases just because their service is in point. read more

I've shopped at this shop for several years and always enjoyed the atmosphere and the knowledge that your staff has or had. Last two times, not so pleased. Maybe a month ago I purchased a sedici Bluetooth helmet. Seemed like it was a pain for the guy to help me. He even asked me if I wanted the box because he really didn't think I needed it. Well, I get home and of course since I didn't get the box, I didn't get the Bluetooth cord or anything else. Then I noticed that the bag for the helmet, which I had to ask for it at the store, wasn't even a sedici bag. When I truck my behind to the store, the dude didn't even apologize for me having to come back. Anyways, today I went to get some cleaner/lube for my chain. I asked the cat behind the counter if they had anything that would actually stick to the chain as it cleans it. He said that we might have something on the shelf, like a trio or something. As I walk to the isle, because he wasn't going to come help me, I hear the guy next to him tell him that it's not on the shelf anymore, it's probably in the back. Of course the cat didn't even attempt to go find it but when I get back to the counter and ask him what is the wax thing, obviously i didn't know and that's why I come to your shop, because you are supposed to know, the guy didn't want to explain what is the wax. He just said it's wax. Ok, guess I'm supposed to figure it out on my own. Trust me, I can get that same crappy service from the internet and I won't even have to go to your store! Chose this shop to get a helmet and gloves after reading Yelp reviews of area motorcycle equipment vendors. The staff here were helpful and friendly, but not pushy. The place is clean, spacious, and well-laid out. The clerk who helped me was knowledgeable about the various products, their strengths, drawbacks, features, etc. Prices were good, and while it's possible I could have "showroomed" the products here and found them cheaper online, I prefer to give some business to a local store that provides good products at a fair price. They didn't have the helmet I wanted in the size and color I was looking for, but they ordered it for me, and called me five days later when it arrived. I do not hesitate to recommend this Cycle Gear location, and I will return next time I need gear. read more

Excellent motorcycle store that has everything you need for riding a bike. Clothes gear shoes helmets ect. It's pretty cheap compared to motorcycle dealerships. I'm still very new to riding and a lot of places that you go are very rude and act condescending towards you when you're trying to know how to proceed with being safe and treat your motorcycle properly. Well that is not my experience with Cycle Gear they are very nice everyone that I have been in contact with when I enter that store is very polite very eager to help and very knowledgeable. When I went back to pick up my shield from the store that I had previously ordered. I was helped by Christian and he was absolutely amazing I thought that my shield was done for and he pulled out some plexus cleaner and cleaned my shield for me. I went ahead and ordered a secondary one but I can still now use this one where I thought it was trash. He took his time with me and did not act like I was bothering him in anyway Christian is one of the nicest people I've met in this industry so far. read more

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Had a flat tire when I got to work. Stopped by and they recommended the dyna plug kit to patch it up so I could get home. The dyna plug did hold well enough to get me home. I showed up at 6:10pm on a Thursday with a tire purchased from RevZilla to have it mounted/balanced. They had me out by 6:30pm. I have been to the Meadows Lane location twice, and on Both occasions, I was Completely and Totally ignored by every employee in the store as I walked in the door. I came to Cycle Gear to purchase some of their "Freeze Out" and "Heat Out" gear for my job. I stood patiently by the register waiting to check out for at least 30 to 40 minutes without any acknowledgement of my presence. The employees seemed to talk and talk and talk to the customer checking out in front of me, without Ever having the slightest decency to say "Hello Sir, I will be with you shortly". I am a pretty patient person for the most part, but after waiting for 30-40 minutes to check out with one employee at the register, and all the other employees standing around, I felt myself getting infuriated. I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service ever. Go to this store at your own risk!!!!! read more

I avoid this place if at all possible. Every time I see somebody or myself buy a tire from this place they give a sob story about how many people are ahead of me for mounting and it can't get done till tomorrow because of man power shortage and what not. The last time the one employee gave me the sob story about how many people were ahead of me for mounting then she asked the tech that does the mounting and he said none, but I'd be lucky to get it back the same day insert "excuses here". I've been a rider since I was very young, and always loved shopping at Cycle gear. As an adult and a child it's more like going to Toys R Us than anything, and I'm always able to find exactly what I want. Walking into Cycle Gear this time was a different experience all together. I made a B-line directly to what I needed (a new helmet) and was helped within minutes of looking at some helmets that I really liked (they were a little busy). A very attractive young woman named Christen *spelling* helped me pick out a very nice helmet and even gave me some instruction on how it should fit, I'm guessing helmet brands aren't sized the same because I'm so used to wearing a large or extra large, this particular brand sizes their helmets larger so I actually fit in a medium. Helmet fitting is very important for safety reasons, if you are in a collision your helmet can spin on your head if not fitted properly and cause serious injury or even fly off with enough force in the right direction, so thank you very much Christen, your knowledge on those particular helmets may have saved my life in the future. I also purchased a Uclear Bluetooth unit for the helmet, which Christen then offered to install for me. Thank you for that as well, lord knows I would have mucked it up if i just took it home and tried to install it myself. Christen was very knowledgeable about everything I asked, and a delight to talk to as she installed the Bluetooth unit. Customer service was 10/10 read more

Vegas R. is correct. Don't buy a tire and expect them to mount it on your rim in anything resembling a reasonable time frame. It took them 3 full days, yes, 3 full days to install mine. I've been dealing with this store for over 10 years, no more. They used to sell some good quality products, but now they have forgone quality equipment for cheap Chinese junk. It's obvious from reading most of the other reviews that this store is frequented by neophites and/or friends of employees who are mostly kids that don't know a Harley from a Vespa. Shop there at your own peril. I'll be getting my tires somewhere else from now on. read more
