I would highly recommend the team at Cypress Heating & Air Conditioning. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. When I read some of the reviews I was skeptical but I decided to have them put in a bid for the work at my home. Rodney came by on time and was very knowledgable and patient with my questions. As the process continued I had a ton of questions for him and the team in the office. Each question was responded to in a timely fashion by their subject matter expert in that particular area. Eventually, after receiving several quotes I went with them. Honestly, the price was not the determining factor. I feel in a decision of this magnitude requires a certain level of comfort with the company as well as the product being installed. When it was the day of the install everything went according to plan. Rodney was around a good part of the day making sure I was understanding what was being done, and making sure it was done to their standard. The guys doing the work were completely professional and in the end, didn't leave any trace except for a warm house. If I ever have to get any work done in an area they can help I will be calling them first. I called Cypress with a thermostat problem. They were (fortunately) able to get out the same day. Dany Castaneda gave me a call to let me know what time he would be here, and arrived on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and got to work. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He wore booties in the house and placed a tarp under the attic access so as to keep everything clean. He fixed the problem and checked the entire system for proper operation. The pricing was reasonable, the service was quick and the technician was friendly and professional. 8-10-2019. Good seevice. Showed up when they said the tech would, but I believe i got screwed for the parts needed to get my ac up and working again. Tech diagnosed that I should have a capacitor replaced in the condensing unit outside, although it was not necessary to get the unit back up running. But since it was going out the compressor would have work too hard and would have to be replaced sooner. Cost of the capacitor and the 10 minute diagnosis $350.00!!!. No idea how much a capacitor really cost I went ahead and approved. Since it wasn't really the capacitor that needed to be replaced to get the unit back up running the tech needed to replace the thermostat inside the house that was really the culprit of the AC not working. Another $350.00!! I was not home at that time, but my wife approved. Boy was I surprised when I got home and she informed me that the total bill was $750.00!! Since I'm in the plumbing business I know companies do have a mark up on parts. After all they have to pick them up from their supplier and warranty the part in case it goes bad. I checked on line to see what the approx. cost of a capacitor is. There are many types for AC's. All are anywhere from $10 to $30. Nice mark up on the parts Cypress HVAC!! I also got hosed on the basic thermostat that they charged $350.00 for. Yes 350 bucks!! A Nest thermostat doesn't cost that much! Good service but watch out. A long time customer no more. I paid $189 for a five minute fix. I bought and had this unit installed less than eight years ago by Cypress Heating & Air Conditioning and I've had them out for repair 3 times. I requested a maintenance agreement at the time of this last service, thought I was under contract and just found out today I do not have a maintenance contract. Poor customer service if you ask me. It comes as no surprise to me to read the many negative reviews about the poor service by this company. Let me share my nightmare with you if I may. I have a rental townhome in Ontario and have owned it for over 25 years. When my tenants called me and told me that the furnace would not come on, common sense told me that my unit was probably going to need to be replaced. I called the folks at Cypress and they sent out a tech the very next day. He was supposed to call the tenants when he was on the way, but guess what! Exactly, he didn't. Okay, not a major deal breaker (YET). The service tech proceeded to take the entire unit apart and told my tenant that the "ignigtor box" was bad and that the gas valve needed replaced. Also he told her that the unit was "too old" and that he probably couldn't find parts for it because of its age. My tenant said the tech would "call me" to discuss my options, etc. You guessed it ... NO call. Three days go by and still nothing, so I called the office. (BTW, the girls who answer the phone and make appointments are wonderful) I explained my situation and she pulled my job. She told me the same thing and that they would send out an estimate right away. A few days later I got a bill for the service call and a very expensive estimate. Still not an earth shattering experience ... but it gets better. Hang on. I called a good friend of mine who is a contractor and he connected me with one of his friends who lived close by to the rental. When the new guy got there the furnace was in a million pieces all over the ground. He reassembled it, cleaned it all out and got it to function properly. He did state that the unit was in "fair to poor condition" due to its age. Two weeks later the unit is still going strong. I will be replacing it in the near future, but you can bet your sweet behind that I won't be contracting Cypress Air & Heating for the job. Cypress recently completed the replacement of our home's entire HVAC system, including all new ductwork and air registers, with a new Lennox system. The Cypress crew did a great, on-time, job at a competitive price. We were impressed with the cleanliness and friendly professionalism of their installation crew and the quality of the workmanship & functionality of their finished system. Most importantly, when we had a coordination problem with the sizing of the concrete-pad (installed by another contractor) upon which the new AC condenser unit is mounted, the Owner came out and took care of it ... by having their guys come back-out and enlarge the pad at no additional cost! The real measure of a good contractor is how they handle the "bumps in the road". As far as we are concerned, Cypress passed this test with flying colors! read more

What an ordeal dealing with this company. A joke of a company. Had my whole HVAC system replaced and relocated from my garage to my attic. These guys were the supplied contractor for our area by Costco. Instead of boring you with the laundry list of details I have compiled, I will try to give you key bullet points: *Installation started in March did not pass all city inspection until August. *They laughed at how original condenser unit was poorly installed, but did their installation the exact same way. Had to bring it to their attention to fix. *Failed two city inspections which uncovered all sorts of defects in their work. I am glad the inspector caught all these violations. *Installed a "Mickey Mouse" attic access door from my garage that they made with wood and drywall versus a correctly rated fire door. Took them months to get the right door and when I followed up their reply was that they were too busy with other customers. *Installed improperly sized wire/conductor and argued with me that it was what was there. I explained that I am paying you to replace the entire system and you need to install it to code and not use what was previously there. *Failed gas line relocation by city inspector. Informed them that I want this fixed immediately because I now feel unsafe with my family in the house with an improperly installed gas line. Their office manager, Kelly, stated you are safe and they can't do anything to please me. I replied passing city inspections would please me. *Original contract stated specific equipment, what was installed did not match. Lower model equipment was used. I had to show them the contract proving that I should be getting the higher model equipment. *System is horribly unbalanced, some rooms are colder/hotter than the rest of the house. *Recent rain uncovered leak in roof exactly where they cut a hole for a ventilation pipe. Told them I don't want an HVAC company fixing my roof. Went in circles with them, Costco, & their insurance company to find that it is not an insurance issue. Allowed them to send their "technician" out to inspect damage, immediately getting there before thoroughly inspecting they started stating that my roof is old and that is why it's leaking. Eventually they realized it only leaked where they put the vent, the rest of my roof did not leak at all. Eventually 4 months later the issue is resolved. No apologies ever made by either the owner Bob or the "office manager" Kelly for my inconvenience. Everything was handled through other office personnel because they did not have the courage to return my calls or email me back. *Lots of promises made by both the salesperson and the owner Bob, but many were left unfulfilled. So buyers beware, if your searching for a reputable business that does honest work with any level of customer service keep searching. This business does not have any of those qualities. I rarely write reviews, but this needed to be said and everyone warned about this company. Move on, don't make the same mistake I made. They are lucky the lowest rating I can give is 1 star, they deserve 0 stars. read more

I'm not sure these guys even deserve 1 star. A service tech came out to my house because my blower motor for my A/C was shot. He then quoted me $2,500 for the motor, then installation on top of that. It was also going to take them a week to get the part in. I called R.D. Smith in Azusa and they came out and fixed everything for under $400 and took them 24 hours. Had two guys come service my air. One guy said, "oh, your unit is done--you better replace it and fast. You only have a few months until it breaks...". Well, that was 5-years ago. I don't usually leave reviews but I just had to leave this company a well deserved honest and clear review because of how great the experience I had with them . They were very professional, from the salesperson , to the technicians, to the person who answers the phone. Firstly, I was needing a whole complete HVAC replacement top to bottom which we all know is probably one of the most expensive parts of your home to get worked on . I did my homework and was looking for a company specifically a Lennox certified dealer who would do a good and clean installation because as I researched installation is the most important part of your HVAC and cypress checked all the boxes. I was aware of some bad reviews and let me tell you most of them were service calls and what people don't understand is that labor cost and company cost are 90 percent of what you are paying for and it could be a $4 part and your bill can be $200. But again that's mostly labor and company cost to run a business. Ok enough with that I need to express my experience and in more detail why you would want this company to install or work on your HVAC system and why I feel I got what I paid for and if not even more . Gary the rep was very attentive to all my needs and made the process painless and easy. He explained clearly the whole install process of how there installation process worked and how it should look after all is done. He was Very responsive and gave me the best options based on my budget. Every time I had a question or needed explanation of anything he always responded no not 2 or 3 hours later or even the next day it was like within the minute or in a timely fashion. This was the first good sign and one reason why I hired this company to do such a critical and expensive install in my home. Id like to also recognize the technician Oscar. Well trained very professional.answered and was always willing to go above and beyond to make things right. His work was clean and professional. My first meeting with Bob from Cypress Heating & Air was back in 1994. I had my very first central heating and air installed by another company when I added on to my house in 1992. After two years it stopped working and unfortunately the company had gone out of business. I called another company out for repair and the wires burned shortly after the repair guy left. I was worried to call them back and gave up. We sat without air for a few weeks. I called another heating and air who wanted to charge by the hour to trouble shoot the problem and couldn't give me an idea on how much it could end up costing. We were tapped out at that point and didn't want to take a chance on getting a large bill to try to get it running again. I decided to try one more call and called Cypress Heating & Air In Glendora. Bob came out right away and took a look and said "for $200.00 I can guarantee to have it up and running and you won't have a problem again". He fixed the unit that day and it continued to work for the next 22 years. It was not very efficient and therefore we didn't run the unit too often and didn't get the full benefit of staying cool during the hot summer months. I was sold on the great service and recommended Cypress to my neighbors who also used them and had a positive experience. When the time came in 2012, we went to Costco in San Dimas who had a kiosk that carried Lennox products. We went with Costco for the rebate and used our Citi Costco card for another rebate. We found out that Cypress Heating & Air was their Installer. I said "a perfect combination of Costco and Cypress Heating & Air". I couldn't believe that we would have the same great service we were already used to with Cypress Heating & Air but being able to purchase the unit through Costco who we love as well. Cypress Heating & Air came to my house and we went over the different models and options. We went with one of the highest efficiency rated model with WiFi plus attic installation. They also went over all the utility rebates. Using the Costco, Citi Visa and utility rebates helped bring down the out of pocket cost considerably. We have thoroughly enjoyed our Lennox and it has saved us a lot of money during the summer months. We no longer worry of the cost to run it and we just set it and leave it on. It's also quiet compared to our old unit. We have continued to have Cypress Heating & Air service it every six months to keep our Lennox running in top form. Cypress said they could sell us the filter or we could buy our own Lennox filters and they would install it for us during the maintenance. We found the filters on-line in a box of five which also saves us a lot of money. I always like to take a look at the old filter to see how dirty they are and it really is a good idea to replace it every six months to keep the unit in good working condition. Cypress Heating & Air has grown since I first meet Bob in 1994 and I see their trucks and vans everywhere. I still receive the same great service and look forward to continuing using Cypress Heating & Air for years to come. read more

Bingo! This is how a service company should operate. Our AC went out on Sunday (one of the hottest days of the year so far) while we were out of town and it was being shown for sale by our realtor. We called four different AC companies after normal business hours, and Cypress was the 1st to respond early Monday morning, not long after I called. Only one other company called back and they couldn't make it until 3 days later. Ivan, the service rep, replaced the condenser and cleaned up a few areas and had us up, running, and cooled off by noon! Ivan called ahead of time and stated he would be here within 30min. Beware of price gouging! Our heater stopped working, they came in, looked at it for 2 minutes and informed me that a couple of switches is going bad along with the flame sensor, the cost would be around $700 to replace. Asked about a new thermostat, they had one that was basic non programmable for $250. Decided to call Canyon Air Systems in Glendora (626) 335-1116 to get another quote. They came in, looked over our system, and ran some diagnostic tests, tightened up the loose wires on the switches and cleaned the flame sensor. He turned on our heater and it worked, cost was $99. He also mentioned that it's not often that flame sensors go bad. Asked Canyon about a thermostat, a non programmable one from them was $88. Cypress, putting pressure on your techs to up the price to meet a quota is wrong. Knowing that we have children and an elderly mother in the house and the nights being extremely cold lately, you price gouge, that's wrong. My very first experience with Cypress Air and Heating dates back to sometime in the mid 80's when I was still a teenager. But the young man (I think his name was Steve?) who came out to service our old furnace must have picked up on my anxiety and fixed our old Carrier for a very low price. I don't remember the cost now, but I do know I remember thanking Jesus for sending such a gracious, and helpful heating technician and that the cost of the repair did not break us. I never did forget his kindness and expertise, so now, 30 plus years later, when it was finally time to put the old Carrier to rest, my partner and I called four different companies for quotes. Not only did Cypress Air and Heating outbid the others, it was the manner and ease of the entire process that stands out as an exceptional experience. From Gary (our quote guy) all the way to the installers Chris, Alex and Ozzie, to the young lady that scheduled our install (Carol). Just a seamless and overall stress free experience. We now have our brand new Lennox heater installed and it is running like a charm. I hire this company to take a look at my a/c blower, I watched how "parts" and prices kept going up and up. At the end, I had a massive bill, even though I got a discount for being a first time customer. I researched the parts that were replaced, and found that they cost very little. At the end I feel that the job was done very Amateurish, and not only that, after making several request by phone and email, for a copy of my receipt, all I got was a receipt with the initial issue of the problem and that I paid $0.00!. I needed a full receipt for tax purposes and this company would not provide me that. Also, the technician kept or lost my electrical diagram for the furnace, and again, after several request to get that back, I received zero phone calls. I cannot find the same electrical diagram on line. This company won't care about you, once you get fleeced. read more

This company was recommended by my old HV person who recently retired. I called and set up an appointment on Monday for Thursday between 9 and 12. At 12 I called to ask what was going on and was told the tech should be here. I walked outside and nothing. After I informed them no one was outside the lady on the phone didn't seem to care not even an apology. She asked if I wanted someone to come now and I informed her I has to go and I just wasted 3 hours of my day. When I asked about having someone come out at a later date and possibly giving me a discount or if I should call someone else she just said that's fine and ended the call. we had a gas fireplace for 20 years and decided to use Cypress to upgrade 2 winters ago. After only about a dozen uses, the remote stopped working and then the pilot went out completely. Called this company out to check my heater that was not igniting on Monday. Company said I will get phone call to let my know when the tech was in route...never got a call. Tech Daniel arrives and tells my wife he found a hose disconnected in the unit and now it's working fine. He said I will receive an invoice via Email...never received an Email . We paid the 82$ visit fee. Unit ran fine for a couple of hours until it stopped blowing hot air. I called then back today to look at it again. This time a get a text that Daniel was in route probably because I told the receptionist on the phone that I didn't get a call yesterday. He shows up and says the heater is working fine. I get home and found the unit running with no hot air. I took the temperature of discharge air at the grills I got 69 degrees F, about the same temperature of the ambient air inside the house. I turn the unit off at the stat and the blower keeps running. So the unit is still broke and I'm out 82$. I'll be looking for another company ASAP. read more

During the summer's SUPER heat wave our a/c quit cooling right and I called Cypress to come out and fix it and I forgot to write a review because I was so happy enjoying the cool when it was 100+ outside.However,now that I have time and the heat is over, I want to say that Cypress ROCKS!!!!! Paul came to our house on time and before I finished telling him the sad story how our a/c wasn't cooling, he pretty much knew the problem,got right on it, and now we have our a/c back in order. And fixing an a/c isn't cheap,but Cypress put the service call and a coupon towards the total cost,so overall their charge was reasonable,very professional(Paul),and fast! BRRRRRR!!!! Looked at my heater 10 days ago....told me I needed a part and they'd have to call around and try to find it. I called them after 5 days and they were still looking - supposedly. After freezing for 10 days, I called another company. It turned out to be a one man company who had the part I needed in his truck. Fixed in less than 15 minutes.
