This is one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots! The quality AND quantity of food is what keeps me coming back. Sure, Tru Bru is a nice location but it feels like it's tailored for a specific crowd and like it's trying too hard to be a trendy cafe. Cyrano's just feels authentic to me. First time here and I was pleased with the flavors and portion of the California burrito. I chose the hash brown over the fruit but frankly I think either would have been good. My group included 6 adults and 1 child. We sat outside were we looked at the menu and then headed inside to order and pay with the cashier. The young girl was friendly, attentive, and fit for the job. She let us know it would be a 20 minute wait which I appreciate knowing before I order. I love that Cyrano's feels like a quaint family-community coffee shop. I ventured on a weekday morning and the caffe was filled with a wide variety of people. Most of them seemed to be regulars. The staff were incredibly friendly. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and a cup of drip coffee. A really great meal. I liked that they put rice in a breakfast burrito. Came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! Highlights: ICED MOCHA: I don't know what they used, but this was probably one of the best mochas i have ever tried. It was creamy and chocolate-y and so good. California Burrito: my family LOVED this. It has AVOCADO (which makes everything better), eggs, cheese, hash browns, tomatoes and bacon. It's really good! Chorizo and Eggs: I love chorizo so this was delicious! They give a generous portion of chorizo and comes with toast or tortillas if you ask for them. I'd definitely come again. This is hidden in the back of the shopping center next to Da Bianca Trattoria. It is quiet and a great place to sit and chat while eating good basic breakfast food. This place is en point. The menu is extensive, staff are very nice and best of all you get free iced coffee refills! Located in the back corner of a plaza, there is plenty of seating outside and its never overly packed. I live in Irvine and make it a point to drive the 15 minutes just to get breakfast. read more

My older daughter and her husband brought me and my wife here on Father's day for breakfast, everyone ordered something different, it was everyone's first time there. Great food, all agreed there meal was really good, great flavors, portions, service. Eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, waffles and strawberries, farmers omelet were all enjoyed. I only had the coffee (espresso). It was alright but had a strange burnt wood after taste that wasn't great. The person at the counter had a runny noise and was wiping it with his hand. He then didn't wash up before continuing to make drinks. It didn't help that he didn't look like he had showered at all. At one point he even unwrapped straws and handled them. I ask for no lid and no straw to keep things as sanitary as I could. I think quickly jacked off the outside of my cup with hand sanitizer to feel okay about drinking it. read more

Nice little hidden cafe, food was delicious and the girl working the cashier was super friendly and patient with my order she even suggested a few items to try to help me, the French toast was delicious and came with lots of fruit! came here after a hike at peter's canyon with my girl since we were looking for a place we've never been to or heard of,, and we were not disappointed it was a little hidden in the crowded plaza but that was about the only downside. the second we got in, we loved it it's got a nice aesthetic to it (great for foodie pics or instagram posts if you're into that), the cashier girl and the barista guy were super nice, and they gave us time to look over the varied menu and drinks they offer (apparently they offer alcoholic beverages) i got the chorizo and egg breakfast burrito and hash browns (it was delicious, especially with the salsa they add on the side), and my girlfriend got the cheese and ham omelette with fruits on the side (also delicious and perfectly cheesy, not overwhelming at all). to drink, i got their cold brew with an extra espresso shot and she got a banana and strawberry smoothie (both delicious) overall, i would recommend this place to anyone for any breakfast/brunch meal read more

This was probably the Worst coffee and breakfast I have EVER ordered! Both my husband and I ordered lattes and they were so bad we traded them in for regular coffee which was horrible too! When we got our omelettes that we both ordered we couldn't even eat them. They had so much salt in the food it was inedible! We promptly left with barely touching our food and coffee! A friend took me here for an early lunch when I came to visit her in Orange county. This place is very hidden away so you definitely need to locate it on a map before heading over. This seems to be a good option for a breakfast, brunch type place, especially on a weekend. The inside is very warm and there was soft Xmas music playing while we were there. Even in the holiday season it wasn't too busy so everything was made pretty quickly. For my meal I decided to go with the breakfast quesadilla (egg, cheese, sausage, which was actually pretty tasty and a decent price as well. Was it anything memorable? Not really, but it was pretty good and came with salsa and sour cream as well. My friend ordered the breakfast bagel which came with eggs, cheese, and bacon and looked pretty good too. So I found this place on yelp, of course...just moved to orange and I needed to grab a quick breakfast, I didn't want anything heavy. Saw a pic of the Açaí bowl , sounded perfect and it did not disappoint! I ordered a small, which was perfect! It was topped with banana, strawberries, blueberries and red berries. I also ordered a large dark roast coffee with chocolate mint flavor and it was so good! I have been coming to this place for fifteen years. It has always been somewhat cool... But now they have this new owner and the quality of everything is so much better, cleaner, and tastier. I enjoy their expresso over ice. And have been meaning to go down their to try some wine tasting on the weekend nights,I'll get there eventually. WOW! This place is so go great. All though my first experience started off on the wrong foot because a friend that I was with spilled water on me. It was okay though because Cyranos had a plethora of napkins to help cleanup. I ordered the starburst smoothie and the breakfast burrito. Let me tell you it was delicious. The smoothie did need to be blended a little more but boy it was delicious. Very vibrant and fresh fruit flavors. The breakfast burrito was divine. It included eggs, beans, bacon and cheese. We visited here for the first time during the week for a late breakfast. Prices of the foods seemed a little higher than competitors in the area, but I liked all the fruit we received as sides and in the fruit parfait. They were very fresh! I had one of their omelets, it tasted way too salty and I thought it was killing other flavors. (isn't it what salt and pepper on the table for? So each customer can add to whatever their likings...) I don't think I would come here for breakfast unless I'm in the area and must grab a bite, but I would come back here for meeting with friends for coffee and sweets. The atmosphere was awesome. Cyrano's caffee looks as though its been cut out of a beautiful studio ghibli film. The food was great, and the coffee selection was wide. I ordered the breakfast burrito and an iced blended mocha. The burrito was unique because I've never had a black bean breakfast burrito. Delicious. It was the coffee that makes me want to come back though. The mocha was unlike any I've had before. It was blended finely but not so much as to make it a frapachino. Really really really slow service on Sunday mornings but the server Cole was super nice and helpful! Loved him. A lot of other staff were inexperienced and slow to the job. We received a latte with no steamed milk or foam. It looked like a flat cup of coffee. Cole was quick to fix it and personally made us lattes because apparently the other guy was new and inexperienced. The food was good. A little salty. I wish they had different styles of potatoes other than the hashbrowns as a side and maybe an expanded patio. Otherwise it was pretty good for the area. read more

I give it four stars only because the staff is young and can be unprofessional with singing and gossiping instead of working. I can understand why some of the other reviewers were frustrated. My family has been here before and I decided to join them earlier this morning for breakfast. The reason I am giving this place three stars is due to a cashier (I believe she was older and had short hair) who gave me attitude simply because I wanted to know what type of potatoes they are using. I have an allergy to russet potatoes so I have to ask almost everywhere I go. She, very rudely, told me that they are hash potatoes and that they are frozen. I then again asked if they were russet or red since she avoided the question. She gave me more attitude about it so I decided against it. When I received my food (Greek scramble) nothing had flavor, the only thing that saved it was the feta cheese. Very disappointed after trying everyone else's plate. I will consider giving it another try because I know they can do so much better. read more

A Fantastic Experience. I have been here a couple times when it was hot and until now my experiences were good enough to come back for the cold drinks, but nothing stood out. The service is good really, the smoothies are good, and the cup sizes are on the larger size. However, the food is a bit pricey. Today I brought someone with me and we were surprised to find out that it is temporarily closed for a few days. One of the employees saw us outside and invited us in for a cold drink. We tried the Jiggly Juice, which is an Arnold Palmer with strawberry syrup. To our surprise we were told it was on the house. This generosity is what makes the Cyrano Cafe stand out in an area where coffee shop cafes are a dime a dozen. I am more likely to recommend this place to others now and will continue to come back once it reopens. read more
