She took lots of time with us and gave us all the options for our space and needs. We had a great interaction with her. I had an unpleasant phone call with Czyz's, and did not buy anything from them as a result. I was looking for a fridge which wasn't available at the Truckee Sears, so I called Czyz's. The tone of voice of the guy on the phone made me feel like I was being a pain in the neck just for calling them and asking what a specific fridge would cost. Also, they charge extra for credit cards, are not open on weekends, and wanted to charge $170 extra to take the fridge up a flight of stairs (above the already higher-than-Lowe's-or-AJ-Madison installation cost). Stay as far away from this "company" as possible. I had previously heard terrible things about Czyz's. But they had the Viking I needed in stock. So it was ordered with installation. Installation was scheduled for morning. Czyz's didn't show up until after 5. Upon installation, Czyz's broke the support leg for the Best pop up vent behind the stove. Then denied it. Upon inspection, it was clear during installation Czyz's pushed the controller breaking the support leg of the Best pop up vent. Czyz's then denied any liability. Still trying to find the time to take them to small claims court. read more

Really bad experience. I like supporting local companies but this has me reconsidering. I bought a washer / dryer unit from them and during installation they told me that because of the configuration it needed to be stacked but they couldn't do it that second because they didn't have the right equipment. They made a follow up appointment to stack them which I assumed would be free because it should have been part of the installation. When they finished they charged me almost $500! When I asked to know why they said they needed to charge me an installation fee since this wasn't part of the free installation they provide when you buy the unit! I'm pretty outraged by this. This is something on the verge of fraud. I would never buy from these crooks again. read more

I always try to support local business but Czyz's makes this very difficult. I ordered a warming drawer for our kitchen and they tried to give me a unit which was manufactured 7 years ago and clearly out of warranty. Can't believe they even have 2 stars out of 5. I bought an ice maker from them and paid extra for installation. They delivered the ice maker then claimed they couldn't install it where the old ice maker had been and that I needed a plumber, who I was going to have to pay for, to install. If the machine is pushed back so it is flush with the front of the counter as the old one was, the drain tube is crimped in the back and the machine doesn't drain properly. After a "repair", the machine will produce ice for a few hours and then when I check it later the ice has all melted. When I called Czyz's they refused to assist me on the phone and refused to send anyone to repair or fix the issue. I am stuck with a worthless machine they refuse to take back or even comply with terms of their warranty leaving me no choice but to go to court. They don't even deserve the horrible 2 star rating. I will be back here once the court case has concluded. Just stay away from these flakes. read more

Wow! I thought I was being picky, but I found the same thing as the previous reviewer. Quite possibly the laziest sales staff around. Frustrating to deal with too. I dealt with Norm, who couldn't be bothered to help me at all. Luckily, I did my homework before going in and knew what I wanted. He told me to call around and he would beat the best price I got. I found a large store in LA that had a good price. I gave it to Norm and he told me he couldn't beat it and they were selling used ranges. (BS, he told me he had never heard of the store, then he tells me their stuff is used). Anyhow, with shipping from LA, it was close to a wash so I decided to buy from Czyz's. We bought a range, a fridge and washer/dryer combo. He couldn't lift a finger to help us with the details, (I asked if the range had the high altitude conversion kit on it. He didn't know, but told me I could come in and get the serial number off of the range and call the factory) so we did our homework and as soon as we decided what we wanted, he suddenly knew all about them and told us we should really buy the next models up. He went into great detail about the poor quality of the model we picked out, and how the next model up was a much better buy... Anyhow, he quoted me a price over the phone and then I gave him my CC for the deposit. I called a month later and inquired about delivery times and he said he was still waiting on my deposit. I told him I gave him my CC and he said, "Oh... That's why I have your credit card number here..." He placed the order and called when it was in. Here is my other issue with this company, lazy and untrustworthy. When the time came, I asked him about delivering here in town; specifically, was there a charge? He said, "Here in Truckee? That shouldn't be a problem, we can handle that." Which to me meant, they will handle the delivery. No mention of a charge for delivery. The day came and he called to make sure I'd have a check with the final amount. His total was different than mine and I called him on it. He had different final prices for each of the appliances. I kept good notes as we were price shopping and when I told him the prices he quoted me, he said, "Oh no. I never said that, I couldn't make any money at that price." He had padded each appliance by $100-$250. I was so pissed. Anyhow, I was faced with scraping the who;e deal over $600 and putting the project behind schedule, or coughing up the extra and moving on. I begrudgingly paid the difference and then he has the balls to tell me the delivery fee is $150 and I need that separately. $150?? Again, "I never said that... We never deliver for free" My alternative was to rent a truck and take a day out of my schedule and do it myself, so once again I paid up. In hindsight, I should have asked for written quotes. When he quoted me the price over the phone, the only receipt I got was a receipt that had the list of appliances with their model numbers and the deposit paid. For the close to $10,000 I spent there, you would think they would show the slightest attention to the needs and concerns of their customers, but they don't and they don't care. Look at it as self serve and don't expect anything for your money and you'll be fine. For what it's worth, their delivery and installation guys are top notch. Very conscientious, polite and punctual. They couldn't do enough for us. read more

Horrible start to finish. I purchased 13 units worth of appliances and problems started at delivery. Some orders did not arrive for weeks past due date and they even claimed I already received some of the products. Now that the tenants have moved in there have been some issues with the appliances and that is not so unusual with an order this large. The service department (Michelle and Mike) try to avoid a service call at all cost and only when you scream and yell will they schedule a repair....for a date two weeks out. I have tenants without a working dishwasher and ranger located less than a mile from the Truckee location yet they need to wait 2 weeks. I would happily pay more to avoid the headache. Go elsewhere, there are many options and no need to deal with these people read more

Don't use them! They are crooks. I would not even give these people any stars if I could to write a review. My interior designer bought two dishwashers from CZYZ's for us and arranged them to install. Being a second residence we were not there for the installation, but our caretaker was. Two months after installation not having even having used both of them, our housekeepers discovered water leaking down from the ceiling in a bedroom downstairs. Our caretaker who happens to be a contractor was panicked to figure out where the leak was coming from. After pulling out one of the dishwashers he discovered it had not been hooked up properly and was leaking water at the connection. He quickly called Czyz's to come over to asses the situation. They wanted him to lie and say they pulled the dishwasher out not him. They took the dishwasher away and then claimed it was the dishwasher not the conncection. We had major water damage in the room below the dishwasher and our insurance sent for the dishwasher to have it proffesionally assessed. It is a Boch dishwasher and it was determined to there were no defects. When my insurance company tried to talk to Mike the owner he kept avoiding them. He finally came out and denied that they ever even installed the dishwasher which was an outright lie! We have him communicating thru email with my designer confirming the installation. That dishwasher ended up costing us $12,000+ because of our $10,000. dectucable. I want to take CZYZ's to court. read more

We recently had a big holiday party for our company and our dishwasher crapped out! You can imagine how that could have been a nightmare, but fortunately the repair crew of Dan and Chris out of Reno worked hard to diagnose the problem; Michelle special ordered the part and expedited it's shipment, so that Dan and Chris could install it! I am thankful there is a website like Yelp as it is SO IMPORTANT to check the background of a company before you hire or buy from them...wish I had done that before I attempted to make a dishwasher purchase from this store. I spoke to 'Mike' over the telephone and focused not on his insufferable arrogance but on the purchase of a dishwasher. He knew I was calling from the Bay area and we agreed that for the time restraint I was under and the unknown installation time from his end, that I would drive up to pick up the dishwasher myself that week end. I drove up 4 1/2 hours and had arranged for a friend to do the same to help me with the machine. We arrived on the agreed date and there was no machine for pick up..no machine in stock...it had never been ordered...I look at the purchase order sheet and see thta it was a 10/25 date to be in Truckee and a cost of voer $700..a nice sale. I never got an explanation, a suggestion for another date, let alone an apology. Nothing. But I did get told that they had been in business for 25 years. How?..Why? I contacted Lowe's by phone in my car and spoke to a sales rep that was courtious, informative and best of all, able to deliver the machine free of charge for over a hundred dollars less than Czyz's. I researched the dishwasher online and although I knew it was available at the larger chains, I opted instead to offer the sale to a 'local' business, just to be insulted and ignored. He should close shop and retire. read more

I wish I could give them Zero stars. The Truckee store is run by a guy named Mike. He is an arrogant man who has an un-natural need to be right all the time. When he orderd the wrong part for me, all hesaid was S**t Happens. I will never set foot in this store again. When he found out I was sending him a letter, he called me and yelled at me not to ever come back to his store. I am not worrried about that, I never will. There service is als ver expensive. We experienced a power outage this winter . When the power was reinstated we had a power surge which fried the circuit board on our thermador stove/oven. After two failed repair calls from other appliance repairmen, I contacted Czyz's. They were professional, timely, and just plain great. They ordered the parts, kept me informed of the parts receiving, scheduled another appt to make the final repairs. I have my stove back working in perfect order . The repairmen worked tirelessly for nearly 3 hours. They were respectful, professional and friendly. I couldn't be happier! I would highly recommend Czyz's, and will not be calling anyone else if I have appliance issues in the future. GREAT JOB! read more

Much better than Sears which I would NEVER EVER use again. Will match prices you find in Reno. Are locals and so are responsive to repair needs (call Reno Store). Not all the guys in the Truckee store know what they are talking about. Sometimes better to check-in with Reno store. Overall I highly recommend them. read more

Their prices have been fair, their work competent, and they've always been pleasant. Wow, I found exactly the opposite when working with Czyz's. They were very helpful and professional. We have built several homes in the Truckee area and have always used Czyz's. We have never had a problem with them, they are extremely knowledgeable about appliances. As well as being able to service the appliances when we have any trouble with them. Maybe you really didnt buy your appliances at Czyz's, I cant imagine you ever having that many issues! read more
