Our Whirlpool refrigerator was warm. Dr Google online indicated that it might be a control board and the swap didn't look that difficult. Fortunately I was given Costi's name by our contractor. Turned out it was build up of ice inside, and dust outside that was the issue. No part needed. Had him fix my ice maker while he was there. On the business side, Sue was great to work with. My dishwasher had stopped working. A friendly woman answered the phone right away, and while she explained that they only service Truckee and do not come to our area in Olympic Valley, she spent 10 minutes on the phone with me anyway helping me to diagnose and troubleshoot the problem and come up with a few solutions. Costi and Sue are a great team in getting back to you, then to your house asap to get your Appliance repair done. We used Costi to fix our Whirlpool Duet washing machine - as it was making lots of noise, and starting to eat our clothes. Costi did the original fix, then came back for free a couple of times, as there were some smaller issues and questions after initial fix. Very pleasant to work with. We are lucky to have them in our little mountain town - someone who cares, so we don't have to rely on the "big repair companies" who historically have not shown up several times after securing an appointment. Sue and Costi make a great team for this "Mom and Pop" Appliance repair. Sue manages the phones while Costi makes the repairs. We have a Samsung Fridge (BTW Samsung repair folks are difficult to find) fail in our vacation rental late on a Friday night. We had a guest staying with us, so this was definitely an urgent repair to allow our guests to continue to enjoy their vacation. As you may/may not know very few repair folks work in Tahoe on weekends. We called every repair person in Truckee/North Lake Tahoe and Sue was the first to call back within an hour. (The ones that did return our call didn't do get back to us until late Monday morning.) The responses ranged from, we don't work on Samsung, we won't drive 15 minutes outside of Truckee as well as many unanswered calls. Sue and Costi understood the urgency and got us on the calendar in a very reasonable time. Over the phone Sue diagnosed the problem, and gave an reasonable price estimate as well as repair time. Costi made the repairs while our guests were still staying in the cabin. All repairs were made the first time, within the original quote and in a very professional way. I called Costi's Appliance Repair after having it recommended to me by Sears Hometown store in Truckee, Ca. Sue answered and was very knowable and pleasant. I have used Costi and Sue on two occasions. Costi came to fix my washing machine hookup which took only a few minutes. He was very polite and efficient. Sue helped me get my fridge and freezer back on track after I discovered that the temperature gauge was out of whack. My wife and I, too, had a wonderful experience today when calling for professional assistance from the "Appliance Doctor" and his delightful "Assistant" (wife), Sue! The upstairs washer/dryer unit in our Truckee Vacation Rental had been giving us fits for quite some time, so we needed to have the issues addressed ASAP, as we were only in the area for a few short days. A random telephone call on a Monday at 3:00 pm resulted in "the crew" on-site at 6:00 pm ... How's that for a great response time?!? Costi (and Sue!) got right to work inspecting and assessing the situation, researching parts & costs, and offering solid options for resolving the issues, all while dealing with a cumbersome and extremely narrow closet installation. They worked diligently for nearly 2 hours, with Costi even crawling up into our peaked roof attic to resolve a nasty ducting-blockage which was integral to our venting issues. My wife and I so appreciated their professionalism, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and truly friendly demeanors. Had to find a new appliance repair shop when my previous repairman retired. He recommended Costi's Appliance and I'm very glad he did. Firstly, Sue who answered the phone was very professional and asked many questions which gave me confidence that they were competent. She was very responsive and was able to set up an appointment quickly that worked with my schedule. When Costi arrived, it was quickly apparent to me that he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. He initially looked at the fridge which was leaking and was able to immediately make the repairs. Costi also diagnosed the problem with my stove which unfortunately required a new processor board. He knew this board would be expensive, and even though he would have made more money by advocating I buy the part, he suggested I'd be better off buying a new stove. I appreciated his honesty in recommending the best course of action, even if he wouldn't necessarily benefit from it. All in all Sue and Costi make a wonderful team with fantastic customer service. I am an old time engineer and fix-it type of guy, but didn't want to get into the appliance repair without having some of the needed tools and always very observant how service folks work. My Vote on value and performance is 10 out of 10!! You cannot find a more competent person! I had a 15yr old KitchenAid Wine Cooler that stopped working and called around for repair services. Most had a $125 -$145 minimum house call if they were able to fix or not and even one well know retailer Czyz Appliance said parts were no longer available just buy a new one.. One Repair service who didn't cover Tahoe vista strongly recommended Costi and so I called and Sue set the appointment and to my surprise the minimum house call was almost half of everyone else's! Costi came in and quickly diagnosed it was the Thermostat that was out and replacement could be ordered and arrive the next week for replacement. While he was there I told Costi about my Refrigerator which made a lot of noise now and he took a look and diagnosed it was the Evaporator Motor/housing that was causing the vibration noise and it's replacement part was also ordered. Being two for two, my wife asked Costi about fixing our lower oven door that no longer fit tight, probably sprung by our young grandchildren using it as a platform trying to reach the cabinet above. Costi looked at it, removed the door, and decided there was an easier and clever way to fix-it than buy new hinges having to remove the entire oven to disassemble and install. He took a couple of mental picture hooks, cut them down, and installed them as shim spacers in each hinge to tighten the door closure saving lots of money and repair time!!! Costi came in early the following week and quickly installed the ordered parts and everything worked perfectly! The final cost for everything was well below what I expected and I couldn't be happier and more thankful for Costi and Sue's help... IraM. read more

Who answers your calls on a Saturday. In my mind I was already thinking it would be Monday before I could get someone in to look at our freezer issue where it was cold, but not freezer cold. Sue got back to me and was honest and up front that Costi had a full Saturday but their might be a chance. Sure enough later that afternoon Costi called and said he was on his way. I have to say honesty is a great thing and this company has it all.
