My oven was making a terrible sound, and I called Leo's Appliance Repair to take a look. I was hoping they could make it to my place (Truckee) sometime this week. To my surprise, Mike, one of the partners, called me back almost immediately and said he could be there within 5-10 minutes! That was too soon for me, and he was super accommodating in scheduling a time later in the day. It was a super easy fix, and the service charge was extremely reasonable. In this "climate", I think skilled trade professionals can basically charge whatever they want and operate on whatever terms they set. I deeply appreciated that this company was fair on both fronts. Mike and the person answering the main business line, Ronnie (apologies if I misspelled your name), were also extremely kind and professional in their demeanors. STAY AWAY DO NOT CALL! Lots of gouging going on with this greedy company!! The technician that answered the phone was completely unprofessional, lacked communication skills and was rude. The minimum charge just to stop by is $175 even if the visit is 5 minutes and that doesn't include labor or parts. To top it off, they are located in Truckee supposedly. They basically want someone to pay the same as a replacement appliance. These guys sound like amateurs which is a liability in itself and are unwilling to charge reasonable rates. They completely blew me off. Mike came out and said he needed to order a part. I checked back with him when I didn't hear back and I was told the part was back ordered. I even went out of my way to get Mike a part back to him he left at my house. They never got back to me again 3 months later. When I reached out again. This time Salvador told me he'd get back to me. He never updated me on my part. I even gave them another chance and NOTHING. If you can't get the part, it would be nice to just communicate with me. read more

Summary: Unprofessional (didn't keep the appointment), unskilled (made several mistakes, broke some parts), and dishonest (took $100 to haul away the old unit and didn't do it). Do not use. My experience: Hired Leo's to diagnose and replace the dishwasher. Leo didn't show up for an appointment (even though I let him pick the day and time). After I called, he agreed to send someone to install the dishwasher. The guy showed up alone, was unprofessional and didn't know how to install a Bosch unit. He was trying to rush through the job and kept making mistakes, broke off dishwasher mounting clips, split the wood under the counter. Left the job site for 4 hours, promising to get a water valve, but went to another job instead. When he came back I had to stop him from trying to drive a screw through the dishwasher body to install a kick plate (the unit comes with kick-plate mounting clips, he didn't know that). He took $100 to dispose of the old dishwasher, but never came for it, we had to drive it to the landfill ourselves. I hold the company and the owner (Leo) 100 % responsible for what happened, and I would not hire them for any appliance job, especially for anything reasonably new or expensive. read more

Mike Knapik is fantastic! Came out to our house when the dryer stopped working and discovered that critters had made their home in our vent... fixed it up, and now it works properly. Then 5 days later he had to come back out because the washer was broken (pump full of material, preventing motor from working), and fixed it - now both are working better than ever! To have someone like this, who is completely reasonable, and helps your appliances last for only $125 service visit, is so incredibly helpful, especially to those of us on a budget. What a gift Leo's Appliance Repair is!!! My oven stopped working and after looking at replacement costs for single ovens, I was shocked. Thought it wouldn't hurt to call a repairman to get some input . After Calling a few places, Leo and his partner came over same day from Truckee (I'm on West Shore) and immediately pulled it out and troubleshooted the issue. I blew the fuse on top of oven from operating "Self Clean" mode. I know what's the point of having self cleaning ovens if you blow up your oven from the excessive heat!!! Leo had parts with him, replaced and tested and we're back in business in a few hours. He was charming, experienced, knowledgeable, and time efficient. We couldn't be more thrilled with finding him and his company. As you all know,, just to have someone come to your house within a reasonable amount of time to do repairs and do them right, but the same day??? Unheard of.
