This restaurant is right by the lake. Prime location near the other restaurants we've dine at. Looks like they had a beach theme, with wood and pictures of the ocean. We chose the restaurant week option. Their guacamole was good and steak was delicious. It had some spicy sauce on top. We couldn't even eat the dessert but took them home. Service was great, our waitress checked in on us often.

We had heard about how great this place was and as a lover of Mexican it was game on. The decor and layout are very cool. The food, both temp and taste were disappointing. Flavorful meats and hot food were not a part of our journey that night and for Wayzata and a meal for 5 that is 125 for burritos and tacos we expect better. I would rank it lower but other yelp friends swear by it ....

I had been wanting to go here forever & finally made the visit! What a cute and bright spot in Wayzata! The inside was actually a lot bigger than I imagined. We sat at the bar & actually had the owner as a bartender. He was super nice & informative. We got the Tequila Miso Wings first which were really yummy! They are baked & then fried & so delish!!! I wouldn't mind a little more meat, but they were super juicy! Sweet corn- this was tasty - it's made with Grilled corn, cotija cheese, mayo, traditional seasoning. It was nicely seasoned and I'd get it again. Brussel sprouts- Buffalo style, with cotija cheese, xoxo sauce & tortilla chips. These were unique and fun! Tacos- I got the Chicken Tinga & the bf got the Grilled fish. The chicken was nice, but I'd like if the tortilla was grilled. It was cold which gave a dry effect. They came with sides of rice & beans which were both good! Tres Leches- omg this was soft and moist. So delish!

Baja house is the perfect place for good Mexican food and a good vibe. It knocks any typical Mexican restaurant out of the water in terms of food, service, and ambiance. I'd definitely try to be there for happy hour to get the yuca fries and cheese curds. Our server was also great but I didn't catch his name otherwise I'd definitely give him a shoutout.

    Chicken Mole Enchiladas
    Matt H.

I've been wanting to come here since they opened. Loved the vibes and cocktails (margarita and matador both good), chips and queso/guac/salsa were ok. (Queso and salsa both very mild. Guac light on lime.) Biggest disappointment was the mole enchiladas. I'm a HUGE mole fan and had high hopes, but the mole was the wrong consistency (a thick paste instead of a sauce), didn't have much flavor and there wasn't enough of it to keep the chicken from being dry. Artfully presented but needs some more attention to the basics. I would come back and try some other dishes.

    Niman Ranch Ribeye
    Kayer V.

Went here for Restaurant Week Feb 2022. My sister raves about their Niman Ranch Ribeye that she can't get off her mind. We decided with a condensed menu we can try all the favorites. My husband had the Niman Ranch Ribeye and I had the Divers Scallops. I got to taste a little from everyone's dishes as well. It came as a 3 course meal, I had the Caesar Salad which had the perfect amount of dressing, and not overpowering. My husband had the ceviche which was sour and sweet. The Ribeye was perfectly cooked and it melted in my mouth. I'd recommend eating and dipping it with all the sauces on your plate. The scallops were sweet and savory. My type of seafood. I can't wait to go back

Phone never eats first here. My first experience was incredible, my second was a bit off but understandably since you never get that good of a thing twice. The corn as always met up to expectations, however the service lacked. For your top experience, I highly recommend sitting inside where a waiter will regularly check in. We had a long wait even though it wasn't a busy night, but otherwise the food was pretty dang good and I'd still return out of respect for that. Tacos are always the way to go and don't forget a marg.

It's the kind of space where you want to get dressed up just to sit in it. Truly one of the most beautifully designed dining rooms in the Twin Cities. The staff was also really helpful when it came to navigating gluten and dairy preferences, which I always appreciate. Good cocktail options and great presentation in nice glassware. The Parker House rolls were the clear table favorite, served with three different spreads that were all worth trying. The Brussels sprouts were divine and the beef tenderloin was good, though the portion felt a little small for the price. The short rib special was amazing, but they weren't able to substitute the potatoes for a gluten free option, which meant the dish came out incomplete at full cost. Our waitress was apologetic and lovely about it, but it's not a great touch for a restaurant that otherwise does a nice job acknowledging dietary needs. The Eloise sundae is an absolute must. Done tableside and completely phenomenal.

I've eaten here once before for a special event year prior and the food options were better in my opinion. The small plates got even smaller and more expensive. Not sure if the quality was better on things either. I was with 3 others and we all shared plates. chicken karaage was alright. I liked the crispiness was the sauce was nothing extravagant. Truffle Edamame - best thing I had! The only thing craveworthy that I had. Shrimp taco - smelled fishy but tasted better. I was able to split it into 2 since the shells are so small and the filling worked well in the 2 provided. Crispy rice with spicy tuna - this was fun to do but not as good as we were hoping. It was missing something. Shishito peppers- these were large and many had the seeds. Spicier due to this. Wagyu sushi tacos $24 for the tiny things and it looked like ground wagyu... felt like a cash grab. I didn't eat them but my crew ate 2 and didn't want to eat the last one. Chicken fried rice - good size and really gingery. Not my favorite but it was edible. Better value than other items. The sushi felt like Crave and they were teeny tiny. I didn't enjoy the fishiness so I was one and done. (I normally love seafood) Dessert- we split 2.. the churros and the tres leches. The churros needed some sweetness in the mixture as they were bland. I was hoping for a really good churro and these were just ok. The tres leches wasn't traditional and they should change the name to avoid confusion. They have a better happy hour if you sit at the bar. Our server was able to order us some fries. Despite not being in the bar area. Overall, I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. The drinks and happy hour, maybe. The cocktail menu was very nice and I tried a few of my friends drinks.

I would definitely get the sea bass and scallops again. Unfortunately they were out of bread so we couldn't try that, but I think all in all, I'd definitely come back. I guess I wouldn't complain if the dishes were done well but they weren't. Every protein dish was bland, bland, bland. From the prime rib, to the scrambled eggs, to the salmon...they all had absolutely no flavor. Oh, and you have to ask your server for salt & pepper for your table. The best things on the buffet line were the French Toast Bake and the mashed potatoes were decent. The desserts were more just sweet than anything else. We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.
