I love these guys. There's a reason they've been in business in Seattle since the dawn of time. I arrived home on Monday afternoon to discover that my dog, whom I had previously relegated to the teenage-infested den sofa, was on the losing end of a battle with a rawhide bone the size of Texas. The net result of the showdown was a bloody nose, which he then used as a paintbrush--all over my nice, new, tan, ultra-suede living room chair! Oh. Hell. No. I called DA Burns, who told me to bring the chair in right away, which I did. Sean and Jericho dropped what they were doing, while Sean took the cushion in back to spot test it. Sure enough, the blood came out. I left them with a crime scene. Four days later, I picked up a brand new chair! Seriously folks. I wish I could figure out how to upload photos so you could see the before/after shots. But I'm a techtard and cannot seem to figure that out. Trust me on this one. Having just moved into our new apartment the day before (highly recommend Flying Couch Movers btw), I thought it was a good time to finally get the sofa cleaned. I am updating my review because of the way that I was treated after the management got involved. They initially received three stars I received a phone call based on my review. The manager called me was very apologetic assured me that this is not the normal way things are handled. I told him I was surprised that a certified letter went out before a phone call occured. He agreed. He researched my invoice and realized that they dropped the ball that it never got filed. He even offered to send it through an advanced cleaning service which was going that extra mile. We are all human and mistakes can be made. I get that but all I was looking for was a phone call. He heard my complaints none of which had to do with price it all had to do with how my service request was handled from the first time I dropped it off. I called to request cleaning for stair carpet, a small amount of heavily soiled traffic areas, and a contemporary wool area rug. Over the phone I was told that they might not be able to clean the rug at my house, but the technician would evaluate the rug and let me know if he could clean it on site, or if it would need to go into the facility for cleaning. This company is using heavy duty equipment and I was amazed how well our nasty stains were cleaned up! We had some serious challenges for the technician, and he did really well! This business is as good as it gets! Two great guys picked up my three hand knotted rugs and sofa with no problems finding my address (a bit tricky). When they were returned by two different great guys, I could not believe my eyes!! I thought the rugs were faded by UV, but NO! The original colors were completely restored. I couldn't be happier and will now have them cleaned more regularly. I'm taking my oldest rug for their incredible repair service at the middle of next month. Highly recommended!! read more

DA Burns isn't really good with Da Schedule. These guys seemed like the most professional carpet cleaners out there. The others I called seemed more like one person with a truck. One of them even started going off on a tirade about the TSA when I mentioned I was going out of town (I kid you not). Sadly, they can't really give you any scheduled time except for a day. I mean, they can't even nail it down to a morning or afternoon. I can have a house sitter come in a certain time and stay for a few hours, but it's not reasonable for me to expect someone to give up their whole day to wait for a call. Their reasoning for this is that only so many people can fit in an morning or afternoon. Sorry, but you've got to be able to figure things out better than that. It's not a big request to ask for the afternoon of 2 Wednesdays from now. You can book things accordingly. read more

I didn't use their cleaning services,,,, but,,,, After getting carpet installed i brought pieces some of those leftover scrap pieces here to get bound so I could have rugs. The did an excellent job at a good price. They have a good operation. Then ............. much later I needed a copy of the receipt and Toni was totally nice and researched, found the old receipt and emailed it to me. When it does come time to have any kind of carpet mending, cleaning I will not go anyplace else. read more

Just had a great experience with D.A. Burns! They called about an hour before arrival to confirm, and then showed up promptly. Jayson was extremely friendly and did an awesome job on our disgusting basement stairs and lower level Berber carpeting. He wore shoe protectors and was careful about not damaging any of our hardwood floors and treading as lightly in our house as possible. He was so easy-going and hardworking, it was honestly no bother at all having him in the house as we went about our morning business. I'm really happy to have found a carpet cleaner that does such a stellar job. I'm going to take a large carpet remnant in to get an estimate on binding it to use as a rug. Wish I'd known about them before, but live and learn. Our carpet looks "sale" ready now, which is why we got our carpets professionally cleaned. The grout in my bathroom had gotten so grimy over the years, which was shocking to me since we have a cleaning service come weekly and I know she washes it. Not only was Jason was able to clean the and reseal the grout, he showed me how to keep it looking brand new. He made sure that my pets were safe, he was kind and accommodating and he was careful in my space. He had to work very hard to get the grout clean and I was completely blown away by the results. When he was done, he even gave me a discount! I will always come back to DA Burns and request Jason for my grout/marble cleaning needs. He is awesome. read more

My highest recommendation and they didn't clean the rug. You say "What?". I knew the carpet was in bad shape and I weighed buying new or cleaning. I decided to try a cleaning and possibly waste the money to avoid buying new. In steps Clinton from D.A. Burns. He let me know that he could take my money and clean the carpet but it needed to be replaced. Clinton could have made the money and walked away but he allowed me to cancel the cleaning without charge. Only one company will be cleaning my new carpet next year. D.A. We had them come in today and they did a great job. First of all, they were super patient with us, scheduling and rescheduling at our request. You can reserve the 8:30 time slot, but otherwise they just call you the morning of. We could not get the 8:30 time slot, but we did request morning and they were there right at ten. Our carpets look great. There were some really high traffic areas and some random spills. Everything is out. Also, instead of taking payment today they are billing us. I feel if we weren't satisfied, we could call and say something. The only thing that caught us off guard was that we did not realize we would need an outdoor water source for them. Since it is the middle of winter, our water was turned off. However, they technician found a quick and easy solution. He said when our bill came, they would be sending a small bottle of spot remover as well. Carpets look great, we're really happy. read more

Some companies "get it" and some don't. These guys Get It. If you want something done right, call DA Burns. I purchased a high-end piece of leather furniture. It had a strong odor from the leather tanning and I hired DAB to treat it with their ozone chamber. They did, and it was much better, but not quite gone. I called them, telling them I would like another go-around in the O3 chamber, and fully expected to pay for it. They came out two days later to pick it up, and refused to accept payment. "Call us next time you need something done" That, my friends, is service above and beyond the call. read more

They fixed the problem with the backing on the carpet and apologized for not catching it before I took the rug home. I was very impressed with the speedy resolution to the problem. All these years I've spent the time to clean our carpets thinking I was saving a bundle. Boy, was I wrong! I gave D.A. Burns a call and arranged for an early Saturday morning appointment. I received a reminder call the day before and also that morning by the technician prior to his arrival. Fred came out on time, reviewed with me the square footage they would be charging me by and told me what to expect. Sometimes...the VALUE is in the quality work. I fell for the "coupons" & "Groupons" of other carpet cleaning places but at the end of the day, it is the quality of the work and the great customer service that is the real value. I have gotten my carpets and rug cleaned by DA Burns and there is nothing I can complain about. The technicians are courteous, call ahead, arrive on time, efficient and knowledgeable of the work they do. You also get a bottle of their proprietary carpet cleaner (which they should market to the masses it is so good) after every job. My most recent experience is with my rug cleaning. Let me set up the scenario for you: Picture this: previous dog was older and often puked towards the end of her life + newer dog was a street dog and not potty trained + my coffee table is too heavy = rug that was stinky, wrinkled and seen better days. Throw it out you say? Nah...I luve this rug. It was the basis of my whole decor. In comes DA Burns, I asked them to take it, cleaned it, repaired the backing so it won't wrinkle as much, and I purchased a pad that should withstand the weight the coffee table. Then I get a call from them. DA Burns took the time to ask my carpet cleaning technician the environment this rug was in and called me back to set my expectations of what they can do and what I should expect even witht he additional pad and so forth. My beautiful carpet arrived with the new pad. A few weeks later it is still beautifully clean and flat (even under my heinously heavy table). And this is all STILL CHEAPER than buying a new rug. Don't fall for the crappy places with your coupons. DA Burns is the world renouned for their expertise in rug restoration. Give them a try and you won't regret it. read more

I was very impressed by the honourable treatment I got from D A Burns. My wife and I were getting our carpets cleaned while we were out of town, and had been quoted a price of $168. When I looked at my statement the charge had come through as over $300 though. Obviously I was choked and sent them an email, here was their response: Hello, Paul. A few minutes ago I called both of the phone numbers we have on file for you and left messages, but I thought I would follow up by email as well. I apologize for the fact that our cleaning technician's price turned out to be so much higher than what I quoted you by email. The mistake was mine - I somehow did the math wrong and quoted $168. We will honor that price and will credit the difference, $150.51, back to your credit card. Thank you for bringing the mistake to my attention. I brought two 5x8 hand-tufted wool rugs to be cleaned. They honored the price discussed on the phone (including self-delivery discount) without issue. The price to have both cleaned was not a steal, but seemed reasonable. The location is fairly convenient coming from the Microsoft main campus. They said that my rugs would head to Seattle and back, taking a week in total, and a week later I got the call to pick them up. I was a bit suspicious at first, because some stains and a moving company sticker were still visible on the canvas backing, but the top sides look new. My only complaints are that the treatment didn't remove a few sticky/gummy spots, which aren't visible, but can be felt when walking on the rugs, and the canvas backing looks like it might not withstand another trip to the cleaners (some stitching opened up, the rubber cement is a bit looser). These are old rugs, though, so I am sure that most people will find that their rugs are 100% like new. read more

I hired DA Burns to clean my pet soiled carpet. The scheduler was courteous and explained that they do a thorough cleaning. Others I had contacted for a quote tried to nickel and dime me with add ons, so a single price quote was a welcome surprise. I received a call the day before alerting me to the time window. I received a call the day of reminding me of when the cleaner would arrive. He appeared three minutes early and set out to work. My carpet looks like new and any odor is gone. Their prices are very reasonable, and I couldn't be happier with their excellent service! One month ago I scheduled carpet cleaning for my condo, to follow some window glass work. I had an appointment for yesterday. I called to confirm the appointment. The condo was prepped and ready for them. Waited all day and no one showed up so I called the office and was given some excuses but they said they would be out this morning. Guess what? No show again. I called the office and was again told we were on the schedule. By 6 pm, no show. This is unbelievably bad customer service from a company we have used for our oriental carpets and home carpet cleaning for years. I cannot recommend them ever again. I am very impressed with D.A. Burns Company. Five stars for responsive customer service, and for living up to their well deserved reputation. Recently I purchased a carpet pad from their Bellevue store for my 9'X12' Persian rug which they were supposed to cut to the proper size to fit beneath my beautiful hand-woven rug. The drawing I provided of my rug showed specific dimensions. The next day I picked up the pad at their Bellevue store, dropped it off at home before returning to work. Later that night I discovered the carpet pad was cut larger than my rug dimensions, rather that smaller. An employee made a forgivable mistake. Not such a big deal except I had guests coming the next day. No time to take it back to be recut. With great difficulty I cut it myself by hand that night after work. It took me six hours!! I am 72, so it was a long and exhausting ordeal. Long story short. The following day when I explained the situation to Mike, the D.A. Burns General Manager. He was genuinely concerned, looked into the matter, discovered his employee's mistake and made things right with me without hesitation. Mike stood behind their hard earned reputation and that means a lot to me. I will recommend D.A. Burns to my friends, and I will definitely do business with them again. read more

I have had several opportunities to take my area rugs to DA Burns for cleaning and I have never been disappointed. Prior to putting my condo on the market I had DA Burns clean my carpet. They did a fabulous job--they removed stains I didn't even think would come out. My condo is small-ish & because of that they added the extra stain guard after cleaning--all for the base price. The only challenge was with scheduling--they work so hard to 'not guarantee' a time - that I found it hard to plan the rest of my day. They also left the carpet spot cleaner which was a nice touch. We cannot recommend this company! We called D.A. Burns' offices in the middle of the job to report big concerns, and they and were completely unresponsive and uncaring. Number one: When their experienced estimator had come out to assess the extent of our three sofa unpholstery cleaning, plus one medium sized and three tiny bathroom tile and grout cleaning, plus one small tiled hallway, he told us that he could not promise the removal of all stains in our living room microfiber sofa but that it needed professional cleaning and would look much better; he said that the small tile and grout job would take two hours, tops. Well, the living room sofa looks far worse than before it was cleaned. Light stains somehow rose to the top and are now very prominent. And the tile guy was here FOR EIGHT HOURS with his noisy equipment blaring the whole time, even though he spend a chunk of the time in his car and in the driveway. The company said that this is because someone had an altercation with him about the placement of the cones around the car. That took an additional 6 1/2 hours? I can report that at the 6 1/2 hour mark my husband, working at home remotely, popped out and wondered why the tile gentleman had only completed the smallest bathroom and the small hallway where the grout was really not very soiled to begin with, but we thought, as we are doing all the rest of them, why not add our home office bathroom and hall as well. The tile guy is a lovely gentleman and was very apologetic, saying he needed to be here longer because he is a perfectionist. I had him redo a spot he had missed. I took our living room area rug in for cleaning. I was very careful to point out to the employee some dark stain spots in a dark area of the rug (so less obvious). I wasn't totally sure he was tracking but after going on about it I gave up. When I got it back, sure enough, the dark are had not been addressed, whereas they were successful at getting out a major stain in the light area. I think the person just wanted me to go away and stop bugging him. I have been to other cleaning places where they mark the areas with tape that the owner points out. I think they are very well set up for this type of cleaning and care about doing a good job in general, but the employee didn't listen to me, and apparently they don't have a process set up for marking. read more
