My highest recommendation and they didn't clean the rug. You say "What?". I knew the carpet was in bad shape and I weighed buying new or cleaning. I decided to try a cleaning and possibly waste the money to avoid buying new. In steps Clinton from D.A. Burns. He let me know that he could take my money and clean the carpet but it needed to be replaced. Clinton could have made the money and walked away but he allowed me to cancel the cleaning without charge. Only one company will be cleaning my new carpet next year. D.A. We had them come in today and they did a great job. First of all, they were super patient with us, scheduling and rescheduling at our request. You can reserve the 8:30 time slot, but otherwise they just call you the morning of. We could not get the 8:30 time slot, but we did request morning and they were there right at ten. Our carpets look great. There were some really high traffic areas and some random spills. Everything is out. Also, instead of taking payment today they are billing us. I feel if we weren't satisfied, we could call and say something. The only thing that caught us off guard was that we did not realize we would need an outdoor water source for them. Since it is the middle of winter, our water was turned off. However, they technician found a quick and easy solution. He said when our bill came, they would be sending a small bottle of spot remover as well. Carpets look great, we're really happy. read more

Some companies "get it" and some don't. These guys Get It. If you want something done right, call DA Burns. I purchased a high-end piece of leather furniture. It had a strong odor from the leather tanning and I hired DAB to treat it with their ozone chamber. They did, and it was much better, but not quite gone. I called them, telling them I would like another go-around in the O3 chamber, and fully expected to pay for it. They came out two days later to pick it up, and refused to accept payment. "Call us next time you need something done" That, my friends, is service above and beyond the call. read more

I always go to DA Burns First! I love my dogs and I love my carpets, fortunately with DA Burns I do not have to chose between the two. I have had several opportunities to take my area rugs to DA Burns for cleaning and I have never been disappointed. I was very impressed with their rug cleaning and drying process as well as the care they take to safeguard color and condition. All these years I've spent the time to clean our carpets thinking I was saving a bundle. Boy, was I wrong! I gave D.A. Burns a call and arranged for an early Saturday morning appointment. I received a reminder call the day before and also that morning by the technician prior to his arrival. Fred came out on time, reviewed with me the square footage they would be charging me by and told me what to expect. Sometimes...the VALUE is in the quality work. I fell for the "coupons" & "Groupons" of other carpet cleaning places but at the end of the day, it is the quality of the work and the great customer service that is the real value. I have gotten my carpets and rug cleaned by DA Burns and there is nothing I can complain about. The technicians are courteous, call ahead, arrive on time, efficient and knowledgeable of the work they do. You also get a bottle of their proprietary carpet cleaner (which they should market to the masses it is so good) after every job. My most recent experience is with my rug cleaning. Let me set up the scenario for you: Picture this: previous dog was older and often puked towards the end of her life + newer dog was a street dog and not potty trained + my coffee table is too heavy = rug that was stinky, wrinkled and seen better days. Throw it out you say? Nah...I luve this rug. It was the basis of my whole decor. In comes DA Burns, I asked them to take it, cleaned it, repaired the backing so it won't wrinkle as much, and I purchased a pad that should withstand the weight the coffee table. Then I get a call from them. DA Burns took the time to ask my carpet cleaning technician the environment this rug was in and called me back to set my expectations of what they can do and what I should expect even witht he additional pad and so forth. My beautiful carpet arrived with the new pad. A few weeks later it is still beautifully clean and flat (even under my heinously heavy table). And this is all STILL CHEAPER than buying a new rug. I was very impressed by the honourable treatment I got from D A Burns. My wife and I were getting our carpets cleaned while we were out of town, and had been quoted a price of $168. When I looked at my statement the charge had come through as over $300 though. Obviously I was choked and sent them an email, here was their response: Hello, Paul. A few minutes ago I called both of the phone numbers we have on file for you and left messages, but I thought I would follow up by email as well. I apologize for the fact that our cleaning technician's price turned out to be so much higher than what I quoted you by email. The mistake was mine - I somehow did the math wrong and quoted $168. We will honor that price and will credit the difference, $150.51, back to your credit card. Thank you for bringing the mistake to my attention. I brought two 5x8 hand-tufted wool rugs to be cleaned. They honored the price discussed on the phone (including self-delivery discount) without issue. The price to have both cleaned was not a steal, but seemed reasonable. The location is fairly convenient coming from the Microsoft main campus. They said that my rugs would head to Seattle and back, taking a week in total, and a week later I got the call to pick them up. I was a bit suspicious at first, because some stains and a moving company sticker were still visible on the canvas backing, but the top sides look new. My only complaints are that the treatment didn't remove a few sticky/gummy spots, which aren't visible, but can be felt when walking on the rugs, and the canvas backing looks like it might not withstand another trip to the cleaners (some stitching opened up, the rubber cement is a bit looser). These are old rugs, though, so I am sure that most people will find that their rugs are 100% like new. read more

I hired DA Burns to clean my pet soiled carpet. The scheduler was courteous and explained that they do a thorough cleaning. Others I had contacted for a quote tried to nickel and dime me with add ons, so a single price quote was a welcome surprise. I received a call the day before alerting me to the time window. I received a call the day of reminding me of when the cleaner would arrive. He appeared three minutes early and set out to work. My carpet looks like new and any odor is gone. Their prices are very reasonable, and I couldn't be happier with their excellent service! I am very impressed with D.A. Burns Company. Five stars for responsive customer service, and for living up to their well deserved reputation. Recently I purchased a carpet pad from their Bellevue store for my 9'X12' Persian rug which they were supposed to cut to the proper size to fit beneath my beautiful hand-woven rug. The drawing I provided of my rug showed specific dimensions. The next day I picked up the pad at their Bellevue store, dropped it off at home before returning to work. Later that night I discovered the carpet pad was cut larger than my rug dimensions, rather that smaller. An employee made a forgivable mistake. Not such a big deal except I had guests coming the next day. No time to take it back to be recut. With great difficulty I cut it myself by hand that night after work. It took me six hours!! I am 72, so it was a long and exhausting ordeal. Long story short. The following day when I explained the situation to Mike, the D.A. Burns General Manager. He was genuinely concerned, looked into the matter, discovered his employee's mistake and made things right with me without hesitation. Prior to putting my condo on the market I had DA Burns clean my carpet. They did a fabulous job--they removed stains I didn't even think would come out. My condo is small-ish & because of that they added the extra stain guard after cleaning--all for the base price. The only challenge was with scheduling--they work so hard to 'not guarantee' a time - that I found it hard to plan the rest of my day. They also left the carpet spot cleaner which was a nice touch. I took our living room area rug in for cleaning. I was very careful to point out to the employee some dark stain spots in a dark area of the rug (so less obvious). I wasn't totally sure he was tracking but after going on about it I gave up. When I got it back, sure enough, the dark are had not been addressed, whereas they were successful at getting out a major stain in the light area. I think the person just wanted me to go away and stop bugging him. I have been to other cleaning places where they mark the areas with tape that the owner points out. I think they are very well set up for this type of cleaning and care about doing a good job in general, but the employee didn't listen to me, and apparently they don't have a process set up for marking. read more

We cannot recommend this company! We called D.A. Burns' offices in the middle of the job to report big concerns, and they and were completely unresponsive and uncaring. Number one: When their experienced estimator had come out to assess the extent of our three sofa unpholstery cleaning, plus one medium sized and three tiny bathroom tile and grout cleaning, plus one small tiled hallway, he told us that he could not promise the removal of all stains in our living room microfiber sofa but that it needed professional cleaning and would look much better; he said that the small tile and grout job would take two hours, tops. Well, the living room sofa looks far worse than before it was cleaned. Light stains somehow rose to the top and are now very prominent. And the tile guy was here FOR EIGHT HOURS with his noisy equipment blaring the whole time, even though he spend a chunk of the time in his car and in the driveway. The company said that this is because someone had an altercation with him about the placement of the cones around the car. That took an additional 6 1/2 hours? I can report that at the 6 1/2 hour mark my husband, working at home remotely, popped out and wondered why the tile gentleman had only completed the smallest bathroom and the small hallway where the grout was really not very soiled to begin with, but we thought, as we are doing all the rest of them, why not add our home office bathroom and hall as well. The tile guy is a lovely gentleman and was very apologetic, saying he needed to be here longer because he is a perfectionist. I had him redo a spot he had missed. This isn't my first review but I can't seem to say enough about this company. I just had my carpets cleaned again (I try and do it 2-3 times per year) and these guys never disappoint. They are professional, nice, hard working and my carpets always look fantastic. They show up on time, they clean up after themselves and they'll even help me move a few things if needed. They're not the cheapest but, they're not expensive either. I've found that you get what you pay for and I always go back to DA Burns. Mike from D A Burns made effort to contact me directly after I made my review. We discussed my experience and he made an effort to change my experience a bit by apologizing and offering a partial refund. I had a good conversation and we both understand that mine was one experience in a thousand. I brought in two Navajo rugs to be cleaned pretty simple I asked the worker when I dropped them off if I could expect certain spots to be removed he made no promises but didn't attempt to get into specifics. When I picked them up they were nicely tied and bagged and from what I could see they looked cleaner, I wanted to see them before I left because while I waited for them to get my rugs a man came back with a stuffed chair complaining that the smell he asked to have removed was still present and that he wanted it cleaned again. I opened them with an attendant present and was surprised to see that spots hadn't been removed or even lightened, it was explained that they steam clean with an extraction wand and that is it no attention is paid to specific stains because they want to avoid dye bleed, understandable but also could have been explained to me. To me it says we spend 10 minutes on each of your rugs and charge you 180$, I worked in carpet cleaning in college I know how long it takes to extract a rug. He offered to have them clean it again for free but honestly not worth my time. Kinda bummed I wasted my time and money at DA Burns when any company could have done what they did. While you're there, if you go, check out the rug repair ladies, I liked them. read more

Jason came out to my house to clean the carpet in my downstairs unit. He called me in earlier in the morning to tell me when he'd be coming and he showed up right on time. He explained the process and answered every question I had. He the measured the carpet and went right to work. The space used to be a band room ... so lots of spilled beer and stains from who knows what... I was converting the space to be used by my girlfriends daughter... so it had to be spotless or a new carpet would be necessary... what do you know... it came out spotless! I was recently in the market for a new couch and was having quite the time trying to decide what color I should go with. When I tried to solicit opinions on couch color, people often asked me what color my carpet was. I wanted to say beige, but I'm an honest person, so my response was stain. My abode is not only home to me and my roommate, but also to our dogs. Big, drooly, furry, mud loving dogs. Needless to say, our carpet has seen better days. Since my roommate was moving out of town and I found myself pimping my place out for a new roomie, I decided now was the best time to spruce up the place. After reading D A Burns' reviews on Yelp, I decided to give them a call in hopes that they would be miracle workers and could whip my carpets into shape. I was able to secure a cleaning for a Saturday two weeks out. While on the phone, I wasn't asked about the condition of the carpet, but I did stress that the two rooms with carpet were quite small. The cleaner called me the morning of at 6:45am to tell me that he planned to make it to my house around 1:00. He also reaffirmed that I did not need to be home when he arrived. He called me at 10am to tell me he was ahead of schedule and would be at my house within 30 minutes. I wasn't at home, but my roommate, who didn't expect the cleaners to arrive until 1, was at home when they arrived. According to my roommate, the cleaner spent less than 30 minutes treating our carpet and doing the cleaning. Yet despite the small space and how quickly he finished the job, he hung around our house just chatting. He actually stood in her doorway as she tried to get ready for the day and made small talk for an extended period of time. My roommate was weirded out and said that she was thankful she was at home since the cleaner seemed all too comfortable about making himself at home. Despite making himself at home and weirding my roommate out by sticking around after the job was complete, D A Burns worked their magic on my carpets. They look 100x better than before. While there are still a few small stains, it is nothing like it was before and I'm quite pleased with the result. With that said, I wish they would have told me their minimum charge, no matter how small the space, is $130 before I scheduled the appointment. For such a tiny amount of carpet, I expected the price to be lower and if I had known the minimum was that high, I probably would have asked them to clean more rooms. Oh, and FYI, I bought a charcoal couch, since I now have *beige* carpet. read more

Many years ago my son, who was 1 1/2 at the time, climbed out of his crib early one morning and got into my purse while we slept. He rummaged through and found the fullest, darkest tube of lipstick I owned. Now he just needed a canvas, hmmm. Our one year old very light colored expensive wool carpeting was his ultimate choice. He ran that tube to a nub, scribbling a large area, approximately 3'x3', prominently displayed right where the carpet meets the entry of our home. I don't remember much after that, except... I remember hearing from someone about the quality of DA Burns, I didn't want a 'no name carpet company' working on this! I immediately called them when they opened, I am sure there were tears. Someone was out within a couple of hours for an emergency visit. Within an hour of working on the stain, you could not tell that anything had happened. Every little bit of red was gone. It was truly, truly amazing. Now this was over 15 years ago, as my little darling is almost 17 now, waaaay before Yelp. I have told my story so many times. DA Burns is amazing! read more

I got a call while I was in my meeting Friday Dec 18th at like 230 pm after I posted this review. They could suddenly accomidate me and send a crew on Monday to pick up the rugs and have the tech come clean, but its too late. There was no apology, none, not a hey look we screwed up we are going to fix this. Just a hey give us a call if you still want us to come out we can send the truck and a crew to grab the rugs while the other tech cleans. Your lady seemed to have an attitude, you were inconsiderate of my time, and less than 24 hrs notice that you are suddenly changing without my consent my scheduled apointment time. NOPE, not going to fly... I found someone to handle it. I had less than 24 hrs to figure it out, but I did, it wasn't DA BURNS and really it never wil be again. read more

I recently had my carpets cleaned while out of town and when I returned, I couldn't believe my eyes. I left them with brown, stained, carpet after a long year of wear and tear. I walked into cream colored carpet (I had forgot that was the original color...ha!) without one stain! I was set to buy new carpet in the spring but now may hold off for awhile. DA Burns just left my house and I have to say - Amazing job! The tech that was here, Jim, was very professional and helpful. The cost is on par with other companies in the area but the job that was completed here at my house was great. We have a dog, two cats, a teen and a tween which means lots of dirt, some stains and lots of wear and tear. The carpets throughout the house look like new now. Couldn't be happier with the job that was performed. I have used another company who did a fine job but I got sick of the call backs that never ceased even when I told them to take me off their list. We took our Persian rug into be cleaned. Our small dog had marked it in a couple of places. When we took the rug in it had a spot where the dyes had bled, small spot, from the past. When I went in to drop off the rug I was upsold a "Deodorizing" procedure to help the rug resist stains. I picked up my rug a few weeks later and when I got it home and rolled it out we saw a large area of the rug where the dyes had bled. (different area then the small one mentioned above.) We were horrifed at the size and how bad it looked. I called and they said they would come pick it up and try to fix it. They admitted that when they submersed the rug in the "deodorizing" they saw the dyes start to bleed but ignored it becasue we already had a smaller bleed on the rug. They also admitted they should have called and told us about it instead of us finding out when we rolled it out. When it was picked up one of the delivery men said this "deodorizing" process can cause this when there is a pet stain. No one told us this when we were "upsold" the process or we would have declined it. They offered our money back on the cleaning, which told me that they knew they blew it big time. I got a call a few days later saying they worked on the bleed and it looked better but was still there. I told them they needed to make this right as it was right in the middle of our 6000$ rug. They said they would email me pictures of it and then we could talk. 1 week later I had not recieved any pictures but got a letter in the mail with our cleaning fee refunded and their claim that the bleed was our fault due to the original stain and they had not responsibility. I was shocked. I called and they said it was clear in the letter it was all our fault. I told them this is a word of mouth buisness and I had a lot of friends who have persian rugs that I could not honestly recommend them. I was accused of trying to bribe them for a new rug, (I never asked for a new rug) and extortion. I will NEVER use or recommend them again. read more
