Every person I spoke with was professional, courteous and went out of their way to make sure I was well taken care of. This level of service is what I imagine my grandparents experienced. This isn't my first review but I can't seem to say enough about this company. I just had my carpets cleaned again (I try and do it 2-3 times per year) and these guys never disappoint. They are professional, nice, hard working and my carpets always look fantastic. They show up on time, they clean up after themselves and they'll even help me move a few things if needed. They're not the cheapest but, they're not expensive either. I've found that you get what you pay for and I always go back to DA Burns. Mike from D A Burns made effort to contact me directly after I made my review. We discussed my experience and he made an effort to change my experience a bit by apologizing and offering a partial refund. I had a good conversation and we both understand that mine was one experience in a thousand. I brought in two Navajo rugs to be cleaned pretty simple I asked the worker when I dropped them off if I could expect certain spots to be removed he made no promises but didn't attempt to get into specifics. When I picked them up they were nicely tied and bagged and from what I could see they looked cleaner, I wanted to see them before I left because while I waited for them to get my rugs a man came back with a stuffed chair complaining that the smell he asked to have removed was still present and that he wanted it cleaned again. I opened them with an attendant present and was surprised to see that spots hadn't been removed or even lightened, it was explained that they steam clean with an extraction wand and that is it no attention is paid to specific stains because they want to avoid dye bleed, understandable but also could have been explained to me. To me it says we spend 10 minutes on each of your rugs and charge you 180$, I worked in carpet cleaning in college I know how long it takes to extract a rug. He offered to have them clean it again for free but honestly not worth my time. Kinda bummed I wasted my time and money at DA Burns when any company could have done what they did. I was recently in the market for a new couch and was having quite the time trying to decide what color I should go with. When I tried to solicit opinions on couch color, people often asked me what color my carpet was. I wanted to say beige, but I'm an honest person, so my response was stain. My abode is not only home to me and my roommate, but also to our dogs. Big, drooly, furry, mud loving dogs. Needless to say, our carpet has seen better days. Since my roommate was moving out of town and I found myself pimping my place out for a new roomie, I decided now was the best time to spruce up the place. After reading D A Burns' reviews on Yelp, I decided to give them a call in hopes that they would be miracle workers and could whip my carpets into shape. I was able to secure a cleaning for a Saturday two weeks out. While on the phone, I wasn't asked about the condition of the carpet, but I did stress that the two rooms with carpet were quite small. The cleaner called me the morning of at 6:45am to tell me that he planned to make it to my house around 1:00. He also reaffirmed that I did not need to be home when he arrived. He called me at 10am to tell me he was ahead of schedule and would be at my house within 30 minutes. I wasn't at home, but my roommate, who didn't expect the cleaners to arrive until 1, was at home when they arrived. According to my roommate, the cleaner spent less than 30 minutes treating our carpet and doing the cleaning. Yet despite the small space and how quickly he finished the job, he hung around our house just chatting. He actually stood in her doorway as she tried to get ready for the day and made small talk for an extended period of time. My roommate was weirded out and said that she was thankful she was at home since the cleaner seemed all too comfortable about making himself at home. Despite making himself at home and weirding my roommate out by sticking around after the job was complete, D A Burns worked their magic on my carpets. They look 100x better than before. While there are still a few small stains, it is nothing like it was before and I'm quite pleased with the result. With that said, I wish they would have told me their minimum charge, no matter how small the space, is $130 before I scheduled the appointment. For such a tiny amount of carpet, I expected the price to be lower and if I had known the minimum was that high, I probably would have asked them to clean more rooms. Oh, and FYI, I bought a charcoal couch, since I now have *beige* carpet. read more

Jason came out to my house to clean the carpet in my downstairs unit. He called me in earlier in the morning to tell me when he'd be coming and he showed up right on time. He explained the process and answered every question I had. He the measured the carpet and went right to work. The space used to be a band room ... so lots of spilled beer and stains from who knows what... I was converting the space to be used by my girlfriends daughter... so it had to be spotless or a new carpet would be necessary... what do you know... it came out spotless! Many years ago my son, who was 1 1/2 at the time, climbed out of his crib early one morning and got into my purse while we slept. He rummaged through and found the fullest, darkest tube of lipstick I owned. Now he just needed a canvas, hmmm. Our one year old very light colored expensive wool carpeting was his ultimate choice. He ran that tube to a nub, scribbling a large area, approximately 3'x3', prominently displayed right where the carpet meets the entry of our home. I don't remember much after that, except... I remember hearing from someone about the quality of DA Burns, I didn't want a 'no name carpet company' working on this! I immediately called them when they opened, I am sure there were tears. Someone was out within a couple of hours for an emergency visit. Within an hour of working on the stain, you could not tell that anything had happened. Every little bit of red was gone. It was truly, truly amazing. Now this was over 15 years ago, as my little darling is almost 17 now, waaaay before Yelp. I have told my story so many times. DA Burns is amazing! read more

I got a call while I was in my meeting Friday Dec 18th at like 230 pm after I posted this review. They could suddenly accomidate me and send a crew on Monday to pick up the rugs and have the tech come clean, but its too late. There was no apology, none, not a hey look we screwed up we are going to fix this. Just a hey give us a call if you still want us to come out we can send the truck and a crew to grab the rugs while the other tech cleans. Your lady seemed to have an attitude, you were inconsiderate of my time, and less than 24 hrs notice that you are suddenly changing without my consent my scheduled apointment time. NOPE, not going to fly... I found someone to handle it. I had less than 24 hrs to figure it out, but I did, it wasn't DA BURNS and really it never wil be again. read more

I have used D A Burns several times in the past and they always do such an awesome job on my carpets and area rugs. I recently had my carpets cleaned while out of town and when I returned, I couldn't believe my eyes. I left them with brown, stained, carpet after a long year of wear and tear. I walked into cream colored carpet (I had forgot that was the original color...ha!) without one stain! I was set to buy new carpet in the spring but now may hold off for awhile. Give them a call....you won't be disappointed! read more

DA Burns just left my house and I have to say - Amazing job! The tech that was here, Jim, was very professional and helpful. The cost is on par with other companies in the area but the job that was completed here at my house was great. We have a dog, two cats, a teen and a tween which means lots of dirt, some stains and lots of wear and tear. The carpets throughout the house look like new now. Couldn't be happier with the job that was performed. I have used another company who did a fine job but I got sick of the call backs that never ceased even when I told them to take me off their list. We took our Persian rug into be cleaned. Our small dog had marked it in a couple of places. When we took the rug in it had a spot where the dyes had bled, small spot, from the past. When I went in to drop off the rug I was upsold a "Deodorizing" procedure to help the rug resist stains. I picked up my rug a few weeks later and when I got it home and rolled it out we saw a large area of the rug where the dyes had bled. (different area then the small one mentioned above.) We were horrifed at the size and how bad it looked. I called and they said they would come pick it up and try to fix it. They admitted that when they submersed the rug in the "deodorizing" they saw the dyes start to bleed but ignored it becasue we already had a smaller bleed on the rug. They also admitted they should have called and told us about it instead of us finding out when we rolled it out. When it was picked up one of the delivery men said this "deodorizing" process can cause this when there is a pet stain. No one told us this when we were "upsold" the process or we would have declined it. They offered our money back on the cleaning, which told me that they knew they blew it big time. I got a call a few days later saying they worked on the bleed and it looked better but was still there. I told them they needed to make this right as it was right in the middle of our 6000$ rug. They said they would email me pictures of it and then we could talk. 1 week later I had not recieved any pictures but got a letter in the mail with our cleaning fee refunded and their claim that the bleed was our fault due to the original stain and they had not responsibility. I was shocked. I called and they said it was clear in the letter it was all our fault. I told them this is a word of mouth buisness and I had a lot of friends who have persian rugs that I could not honestly recommend them. I was accused of trying to bribe them for a new rug, (I never asked for a new rug) and extortion. I will NEVER use or recommend them again. read more

I used them about a year ago and thought they did a FANTASTIC job on my carpets. Last week, I bought a deal through Living Social for "A Unique Dry Carpet Service" because it was cheaper. What a colossal mistake. They were "Unique" only in how bad they were ... They started by saying "your carpets need pre-treating" and thus charging me more money on the day before my party when it was too late to switch and then doing a horrible job. I had not taken the time to read their reviews on Yelp (bad me!) or I would have been smarter. The horrible experience I just had made me appreciate even more the experience I had last time with DA Burns. So, I learned my lesson - next time call DA Burns (and always use Yelp!). read more

Unhappy! We took a wool tufted rug to be cleaned. They also talked me into doing some coating that would make it resist dirt and staining. They shrunk the rug and it is now matted looking and that stain resister does not work. I cannot get the dirty dog lying on the rug spot out. I do not recommend this place for anything other than orientals. read more

Jayson was my cleaner to remove stains from our wool (wool is very tricky to clean and improper cleaning will damage it) wall to wall carpets. Not only does he have a great personality, but he takes his vocation very seriously and evaluates the stains and the toll to the carpets. I've been going to the Bellevue location for at least two decades. More recently I go on a regular basis as I have two geriatric dogs with health issues and lots of accidents on area rugs. D.A. Burns not only does a fantastic job with cleaning but I frequently need to replace rugs that have been contaminated with chemotherapy waste so had to be thrown away carefully. D.A. Burns has a great supply of area rugs in assorted sizes and colors which are leftovers from new construction. They bind them and sell them for amazingly good prices. Most are neutral colors also which works well for me. I cannot say one negative thing about this place - it's just awesome! read more

I own a condo in Bellevue that I rent out, and after my last tenant moved out the carpets looked terrible. He had even rented an 'at home, do it yourself' carpet cleaner. The still looked like hell. I don't think it helped at all. And by the looks of the place, the tenant had not been big on cleaning. I had DA Burns come out and they made the carpets look wonderful again! Great Service! These guys hooked me up when I really needed them. Listed my house for sale and realized that I forgot to clean the carpets in a couple of the bedrooms. Already scheduled an open house and had some showings lined up as well. Perfect!! So I called DA Burns and explained the situation. He said they were completely booked up for a couple weeks out, but said he would try to squeeze me in between jobs that were already scheduled in my area, but no promises. Low and behold, he calls the next morning and says he can have a guy take care of it the next day. His guy showed up the next day right on time and did a great job at a very reasonable price. I've used many carpet cleaning companies over the years, but always return to DA Burns. They're able to remove stains that their competitors said couldn't be removed. Last year, when my puppy kept using my family room carpet as her toilet, DA Burns was able to get the stains out that one of their competitors wasn't able to despite their charging me extra for their "special enzyme treatment". My only "complaint" is that it takes longer to get an appointment with DA Burns than with other companies. I was able to get a next-day appointment with the company with the enxyme treatment, while DA Burns was booked out a week. Next time that happens, I'll rent a machine at the grocery store as a quick fix, and wait for DA Burns. read more

I had a very positive experience with my tech Jayson (Jaysen?) today. I had moved out of an apartment and the living room and bedroom had several really prominent pet stains from our three dogs. We'd treated them with cleaner as they occurred - this took care of the smell, but not the stains. I had been mentally preparing myself for months that I would need to pay to replace the carpet. I hired DA Burns as Hail Mary, and I'm really glad I did! The price was about in line with what I expected - about $187 for a ~750sqft apartment, not including kitchen and bathroom in that price as they are hardwood/tile. That includes a delightful 25% discount for not having any furniture, which was great. Jayson was charming, very friendly and made pleasant conversation throughout the visit, while making it clear that if I didn't want to talk I didn't have to. After finishing every room I was given a chance to inspect it - the stains are gone! The carpet looks great! I expressed concern over one spot in the living room, worn from a year of desk chair use, and he happily got the cleaner hooked up again and went over the offending rectangle several times more. Turns out it wasn't a cleanliness difference, just worn out carpet. I'm sure he knew that, but put me at ease instead of being patronizing. I was also assured that if the stains wick back up over the next few days, they'd touch up the work for free. Fantastic. The visit today was definitely 5 stars - I docked one because my original phone call to the company a week ago was never returned, and I had to follow-up myself a few days later. Additionally, I wasn't thrilled that I wasn't told my appointment window until day-of (apparently standard operating procedure), which required a 7AM phone-call this morning. The window was two hours (11-1) and the tech showed up on time around 12:30. My new place is all hardwood, but I'd definitely recommend their carpet cleaning services and will likely use them again when I live in a carpeted location. read more

When I telephoned DABurns at the phone number on the business card, 206.782.2268, I ordered a custom sized rug pad. I was told it would be ready within a week. When I arrived at the store in Bellevue, I was told my pad was made in the Ballard store, and that I should have specified which location I was wanting to order the pad from. No, I shouldn't have to know that when I called the one phone number on the business card, that I was placing an order for the Ballard store. Your company should be able to ask the customer for which store. I had no way of knowing I was not speaking with the Bellevue store. The employees at the Bellevue store told me I should have been specific. And that I could drive to the Ballard store. Instead, the employees should have apologized and accepted responsibility for the mistake. They did not apologize or acknowledge responsibility for the mistake. However, the Bellevue store did custom cut my rug mat within one hour, which I was glad of. read more

I installed wool carpets and ended up with a pothead for a roommate. After he moved I was desperate to have a normal smelling house again. I explained the situation, and asked DA Burns for their help. They said it was pretty bad. They used their strongest pet solution. My carpets were saved! Until I spilled a quart of paint on them the very next day. I called them back in a panic. I explained how I had ruined the beautiful job they had just finished the day before. They called their guys to see if anyone had finished early, and they came out that day (before the paint dryed) to fix it again. I cannot thank DA Burns enough! read more

I paid them to come clean the carpets, hoping that they would get the pet stains out. The guy was like, "Oh, those will never come out, they're going to be there forever," but I told him to try anyway because I'd had the carpets cleaned by another (now defunct) company earlier in the year and they had gotten the stains out. So he cleaned the carpets and I paid him and not a single stain came out. It was just as bad as it had been before. This didn't make sense to me since the other company had no problem getting the stains out. I went to Best Buy, bought a Hoover SteamVac for the SAME amount of money I paid DA Burns, and sure enough it got ALL the stains out on the first try. I have no idea what I paid DA Burns for but I will NEVER use them again. read more

I brought my 70 year old Persian village carpet to be cleaned because of pet stains. This carpet was made by nomadic villagers using local dyes. I bought it when I lived abroad and brought it to these guys because they were supposed to be the experts. They recommended a cleaning process that involved soaking the carpet. When I got it back, one of the colors had run into the white parts of the carpet. read more
