    Small scoop

As you can tell from the recent reviews, this place doesn't seem to be the same. I got a small scoop for $7.70 and it is just filled up the the cup instead of with a dome. The gelato itself tasted good (I got the pistachio and milk flavors) but I don't think it's worth the price, especially not when Salt & Straw is just down the street.

Hazelnut and Italian Coffee gelato in a cone

I came in on a weekday night around 9pm and the store was empty and spacious. There's definitely more space for tables. I sampled the hazelnut and Italian coffee and they tasted good! I ordered those two flavors in a size small in a cone for almost $8. The gelato is extremely smooth, soft, and creamy. Probably the smoothest and softest gelato I've ever tried yet and I've been to Italy! The hazelnut was the better flavor for me, but I'm glad I tried both. The portions were generous for a size small. I'll come back to try other flavors in the future.

Stopped in here looking for some Frozen desserts since the nearest Ice cream shoppe - Salt & Straw was as predicted out the door. Even though it moves fast over there, sometimes you want to have that sweet treat right away! There was much less of a wait here of course so that can be a good reason to choose here if you're in the area. Also, Gelato still isn't quite up there in popularity as Ice Cream even though it's slightly "healthier". The flavor combinations here are D'Ambrosio Gelato are catching - Tiramisu, Hazelnut, espresso to name a few. I went with the Nutella swirled vanilla. It was quite good. With a few nice chunky pieces of chocolate hidden within. You can get a free little wafer piece to go with your gelato to complete the look and dip or scoop some out of your cup. I've walked by here and hadn't really noticed and it can be missed clustered along the strip but if you're looking for a cool treat come get a D'Ambrosio Gelato

This small cup is over $7.70 with tax and tip

I was so excited to enjoy some gelato after dinner around the area and came in here on a rainy evening. Wasn't greeted at all by the very displeased young man who was running the shop. Tried making niceties with the young man who clearly didn't want to The there only to have one word responses back. the final kicker was that for a barely filled small cup of gelato (please see latest photo posted) which came to a whopping $7.70!!!!! with tax and tip (opted for $2 tip even with the terrible service). I could have gotten so much more bang for my buck at any of the ice creameries in the few blocks nearby. I am still reeling at how much this teeny tiny cup was and how little gelato I got. I am super disappointed with my latest experience. I really can't believe how little the cup was filled and he literally scraped any dome that was on the cup back into the tub. Seriously there were air pockets in the cup too that I almost went back to see if they'd give a smidge more but I was mostly scared to interact with that young man again. Will likely never come back which is a shame as it used to be not be so skimpy on the portions nor have such terrible customer service.

This gelato spot is located in the heart of downtown Ballard, amongst a lot of the restaurants. I sampled a few flavors here including the baseline Fior di Latte to gauge on the quality of the gelato, and the gelato overall is fairly solid. I am a fan of their very smooth, velvety texture of all the gelato flavors, including pistachio. For $6.50+tax, the small is a modest size for an individual to enjoy a serving of gelato. However, when comparing pictures of the past, I felt I got a bit shortchanged with the portion sizes as the pictures indicate the gelato filling way over the cup. Also, the pistachio was not as fragrant as I hoped, and it was a bit more green-ish color meaning they might have added a hint of food coloring rather than the natural off white / very faint green color. While the gelato texture warrants a 5 star review, these two things knocked off 2 half stars (1 star) for me.

I LOVE this gelato!! The Oreo bits in the gelato was still crunchy, tells you how fresh this gelato is!! And you can definitely taste the ingredients because they were so natural. Really loved the hazelnut flavor as well!! Definitely recommend

It looks closed from the outside. I think they should do something with the lighting inside because we almost walked past it. Check the sign on the door. It's probably open. As we entered I noticed the seating is limited but perfect for this clean and cozy shop. On a side note, I really liked Service was polite, and the display of ice cream was very unique, as it's actually prepared right in front of you. So as you look down you can see the ice cream churning in their respective flavors which was really cool. You can get free samples just so you know you're getting exactly what you want. I only have one complaint: My husband ordered affogato, and it was prepared a little bit differently from what I'd seen done in the past. What this server did was put the ice cream in and brew the coffee on top of it and add a cookie before serving. The way that I'd seen it done previously is that the ice cream and the espresso are prepared separately, so you can pour the espresso on top of it when you're ready to eat it, instead of receiving a messy soup of deliciousness. I've also seen it served in glass dishes (because it's really beautiful when done correctly), but this was served in a paper cup. I would recommend that the servers prepare it the original way for aesthetics & so the customer can enjoy it longer. Otherwise, I tried a little bit of what he got and it was delicious. If you're on the boring end like me, I absolutely recommend the vanilla bourbon ice cream in a waffle cone. You'll enjoy it! Flavors are more limited than they were 3 years ago, however, I actually like a limited selection because that means that they spend more time developing the flavors that you get to choose from. The gelato was rich and creamy and I really enjoyed it.

The gelato here is tasty, however I feel like the consistency is a bit soft and not as cold as some other gelatos I've previously tasted. There is a good mix of flavors and the potions are relatively nice for the price. I'd say it's worth a try ... it's also worth noting that the customer service on the day that I purchased was exceptional... the young lady who served my gelato was hilarious and quite friendly.

    Stracciatella
    Pratima M.

A cute little gelato shop located in Ballard with a wide selection of flavors. The gelato here is creamy and the servings are big (since they literally cram it into the cup) so I loved it! I got the classic stracciatella, a milky base with chocolate flakes mixed in. The kids size was perfect and hit the spot without being too overwhelming.

I love D'Ambrosio Gelato. An amazing gelato shop in Ballard. Walked in pretty late on a weekday and it still had folks in there. We ordered the Theo Chocolate and Pistachio flavors and also the Picante (Spicy Italian Chocolate). We devoured our gelatos. It was nice and creamy. For chocolate lovers I would highly recommend Theo Chocolate. Pistachio is delicious and I could get some pistachio bites in my gelato. Loved it. Portions are plenty but when it comes to gelatos who is complaining? Highly recommend!

Good gelato spot located in Ballard. Not really much seating but Ballard has a lot of out door seating and is a nice place to walk around. The chocolate was good, not as rich as I'd like it to be but still good.

A great gelato place you can try after you enjoyed your meal at ballard. They provide farm fresh and organic ingredients for gelato, which are 60% less fat, and 30% fewer calories. I love the Kid size that allow you to enjoy a sweet treat but not with much guilty. I had the Pistachio gelato this time, its flavor was vibrant, with its smooth, velvety texture.

The charming outdoor seating immediately caught our attention and made for a relaxing lunch spot. We ordered the Café Mezze Plate, Shakshuka, and Mushroom Toast--more food than the two of us would normally order, but since it was our first visit, we wanted to sample a variety of dishes. The Café Mezze Plate came with an assortment of mezze, including hummus, whipped feta, roasted eggplant, green tahini, marinated olives, cucumber and turmeric cauliflower pickles, along with house-made pita and pita chips. It was fun to try so many different flavors, although the portions felt a bit small for the $36 price tag. The Shakshuka was flavorful but a little spicy for my daughter, though I enjoyed it. It came with two perfectly cooked eggs and two pieces of house-made pita. At $18, it was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. We couldn't finish the Mushroom Toast, so we took it home and had it the next day. It actually reheated very well and still tasted delicious. Overall, this café has a lovely atmosphere, especially the outdoor seating, making it a great place to gather with friends. The food was enjoyable, but the prices felt a bit on the high side for what was served. I'd be open to coming back if I were in the area, though it wouldn't be at the top of my recommendation list.

We were thrilled to discover it's new management's plans and community, service oriented nature - not to mention their excellent breakfast sandwiches and good beverages! Type of cuisine: Cafe fare - espresso beverages, as well as non-caffeinated items for kids and those who prefer not to partake. Breakfast sandwiches, burritos, pastries. Ambiance: Large, expansive and spacious. There is a small patio with outdoor seating available, should you prefer to dine facing Aurora's traffic congestion. But inside, office furniture helps create separte-feeling booth-like seating with small coffee/end tables for your purchases. Large tables, too, conference sized grace the main space for those wishing to work alone on devices, or engage in conversation among friends and family. An open area also exists, accounting for about one-third of the entire room, which allows for gathering while standing, as well as providing ample space for lines to grow and distance to be maintained (covid-safe). What I ordered: On most ever visit, I stick with my favorites: the bacon breakfast sandwich (if you like the bacon crispy, as that it be cooked out of the sandwich and alongside then placed inside), the sweet potato scone, the sausauge breakfast sandwich and the slightly spicy, vegan potato, bean burrito.
