It's a Hidden gem There is dedicated parking in the rear of the restaurant. If packed there's usually metered parking near by on Ventura. Was greeted as soon as I walked in and instructed to take any table I wanted. Was given a basket of delicious hot focaccia bread with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Warning, the bread is amazing and I had to try to not fill up on that alone. Ordered the chicken parm with spicy marinara, puttanesca and bbq chicken pizza. Everything was amazing and definitely recommend the above three. Was half capacity for dinner on a week night so it wasn't too loud but has a good family/ date night vibe. read more

I am so glad I decided to come here for a late lunch/early dinner. I was able to find street parking and it looks like parking enforcement stops at 4:20pm as I tried to pay for an hour, but it limited me to just 10 minutes as I parked at 4:10pm. Come to find out, there's parking in the back of the restaurant. Walked in and there was no one in the restaurant. So I had the whole place to myself. Definitely feels like this place has been here for a while and it was opened in the 80's. I ordered the calamari, Margherita pizza and chicken piccata. While waiting, they brought out a bread basket. With my first bite, I was like, this is really good and it gave me high hopes that the food was going to be above average. The calamari came out first and I have to admit that it's definitely overpriced for the amount they give you. Granted it was good and the marinara sauce elevated the dish, but I thought it was a little pricey. The pizza and pasta came out and the chicken piccata was probably one of the best I've ever had. The linguine was still al dente. The wine & butter sauce was lemony, but not overly tart. The capers was a great addition and helped cut the richness. The chicken was pounded thinly and was still tender and juicy. It was very good. The pizza was fresh and had good flavors. The dough could be better though. At first, it kind of had a cardboard texture to it, but still good. If they can make the dough more airy and and crispy under carriage, that would be perfect. Instead, it was dense and flat. Overall, I think I might have found my go to Italian in the Valley. Best thing is that the prices are not overly outrageous and affordable. read more

We have eaten here a couple of times since we moved into the neighborhood a year ago. Service was very good, everybody is pleasant. Half a dozen times, we have done takeout. We called ahead for a group of 8 and asked for a reservation in which they responded with we don't take reservations and that the wait should be under 20 minutes if we arrive soon. We arrived at 6:00 and weren't seated until 7:00 pm, while other groups with reservations got seated.... By the time we ordered it was close to 7:30 and our food didn't arrive until after 8pm. Parking: This restaurant has 6 reserved spots, but they were all taken, so I had to street park across the road in the neighborhood nearby. 1.5 star. Staff: I asked guy at front desk if I could sit and eat, he said "sure if you can find a seat", the walked away... Very busy, but I found an empty table. They do have chairs in the back for people to sit and wait for a table to open up. My waiter was okay, but the host stand was lacking.. 2 star Food: While looking thru the menu, they brought out garlic bread, it was very good. And brought me my drink. I had to wait another 10 minutes before the waiter took my order. My entree was Fusilli noodles with meat balls in Marinara sauce. My entree was okay, not that good to me. Pizza was real good 4. Bread sticks were real good 4. Entree was mid 2.5. 3.5 stars Ambience: Not too loud, conversation is easy. Very crowded and the noise is just from neighbor tables having conversations. This is a good location for dates, meal with friends or family. I wouldn't suggest bringing groups larger than 4 people. 3 stars. Overall: The main entree was not my favorite, but the pizza was good. I would consider ordering takeout pizza next time, but nothing else. My friends are hopefully planning to come visit soon, so I'm trying to find new places to take them, but I'll scratch this one off my list. (1.5+2+3.5+3)/4 = 2.5 stars. read more

Just the type of neighborhood Italian restaurant you hope to find when you're visiting a new town. (My brother knew about this gem.) We came to enjoy a late lunch one day. I was thrilled to see a big basket of complimentary focaccia come out first - always a great sign. I spoiled my appetite by eating too much of it! My brother split a salad with his daughter, and it looked very fresh and tasty. Then all four of us shared a combo pizza - they were very generous with the toppings. Finally an Italian restaurant that is not a gimmick. Simple and clean, let's talk about the food , to start the garlic focaccia that is the starter the chef cooking that is a master at his craft . The menu is easy simple and not pretentious. I had the calamari with marinara sauce and fettuccine , amazing delicious. The chicken Parmesan was freshly made to order perfectly cooked and damn delicious. Service was excellent our waiter didn't have to check in on us . We had a great meal in a nice restaurant where the ambiance is nice and friendly and quiet . Definitely going back for more focaccia. Upon deciding where to have dinner this evening, I remember passing this restaurant for the last several years on Ventura Boulevard. I mentioned to my husband let's go try them out and are we ever glad that we did! Ian greeted us very warmly and we mentioned it was our first time there. My husband decided to get the chicken piccata. I had the chicken marsala, but I kept picking at his chicken piccata. I would definitely get that next time with the asparagus and broccoli. The chicken marsala was good, but I have to say my husband's dish was very tasty. There was a good amount of people there and it looked like these folks have been going there for years. I was there for my birthday dinner with my daughter and 2 grandsons. We ordered appetizers and soup and it came quickly our dinner however took a bit longer and we noticed people that came in after us got their food faster than we did. We also noticed people that came in after us to order food to go received their food first . When we asked about ours she said she was waiting for it & it would be there soon (we were told this twice). Finally the food came and I must say it was very good except my grandson ordered the steak to be med/rare and it was definitely all medium no pink to it. We felt as if we had intruded on the server because she had better things to do. Someone came in selling something, and the server spent 15 minutes talking to him while we were waiting for our meal. They may have just told us to leave, we don't like you, because that's what their body language said. It's like they were trying to pretend we weren't there. It's just so good, and consistent. Food wise, I will eat their bruschetta with peppers/balsamic/burrata at anytime, it's perfectly light and delicious. My husband likes their chicken parm. Salads are great and garlic focaccia is sublime - I always look forward to it. The staff is fantastic. As the mom of a small child it's hard to find a place that has good food AND patient staff with crayons ready to go. They do expect her to behave and she does! Fabrocini is located on the Venture strip in Tarzana, and though parking is available on the street, they also have a small section in the back. If the back is full, try and exit for the cheapest option, since there is a sectioned off area for VALET. Our server was extremely attentive, responsive, and easy to chat with. Jokingly after having a moment with the menu, I asked about their secret menu and didn't know it was a thing... I ended up ordering a Chicken Artichoke pasta, and it was AMAZING. The chicken was tender and the juices really sank in. The artichokes and greens were tasty, and the pasta was crisp and went down easy. Of course, Italian wouldn't be complete without bread and oil + balsamic, which I had stuffed myself with. Our group also ordered a Chianti wine, and it was a tasty botte. The wine was not too bold but not too sweet, a good balance of both worlds and well enjoyed throughout the duration of a two-hour meal - will definitely be returning! read more

As soon as you walk in you get a sense that this is family neighborhood restaurant with their locals and regular customers. Restaurant is very casual and homey. They have a pretty extensive menu with very reasonable prices. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. They provide free bread and omg the bread was delicious. It came out piping hot, soft, garlicky and just perfect. Normally I try to not fill myself with bread but this was too good to pass up. I actually ate more bread than I wanted to but just couldn't stop. Ordered the linguine with clams, chicken Parmesan, shrimp scampi and lasagna. All around a terrific meal with good potions sizes. Linguini with clams- they are super generous with the chopped clams and the white sauce which is more like a broth is very flavorful. Linguini was cooked perfectly. Chicken Parmesan was moist and crispy and the marinara was very flavorful. Shrimp scampi- the sauce was very flavorful and more creamy than in an oily and came with good sized shrimp. PORTIONS HERE ARE HUGE! You have been warned! If you have a big appetite the whole plate is great if you want to share they are great with separating the meal in two plates. My boyfriend LOVES this place. Pizza is good, but what is delicious and the chicken picatta is delicious!!! We get it with angel hair and olive and garlic oil, it's SO GOOD!!! Amazing customer service. I went on a Friday night, not too busy when I arrived, but definitely got packed for dinner. My husbands aunt lives about 5 minutes from this restaurant and while in town she said we had to come to the best Italian in LA. With that kind of review I knew we were in for a treat. She made us reservations for a Wednesday about 5pm and were easily sat and they had our table already set up. The restaurant is quite small maybe 12 or so tables and the kitchen is right there so you can small the heavenly aromas nearby. First off, let me tell you about the complimentary bread basket. It was by far the best garlic bread I've had at a restaurant. So fresh and full of flavor. Probably the best part of my meal. As for dinner I ordered a side Caesar and the Tuscany chicken. The Caesar salad was to die for. Full of garlic just like I like. The Tuscany chicken was good, the chicken was a little dry but over all full of flavor. It was a great foodie experience and would be back however, I will say the service was a little lackluster. Our server seemed to be bothered anytime we asked for a refill on our drinks or had questions, so that's a reason I knocked a star.
