If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I don't know what's happened to this company. We've lived outside of Evergreen in the Echo Hills subdivision for 35 years and until last year they were the only towing service we've ever used. Now suddenly, if contracted through AAA, they say the road is not maintained and they can't service us unless an additional fee is charged. They never had a problem with the road when it was all dirt. Now it is mostly paved, and there's a problem? Excuse after excuse to not have to say we're greedy and AAA doesn't pay us enough. We put in a complaint with AAA, but I was angry enough to warn others of their lack of integrity. There's a nice, helpful company in Idaho Springs you can use instead, Big Daddy. read more

Placed two of our cars in the ditch by our house. Called AAA for help. They assigned D& J towing. They did say it would take 2.5 hours. Fine no worries. I checked my phone at 3 hours. They did try to contact me. So I call the dispatcher back and she is clearly miserable and makes sure I don't get service. One excuse after another why they can't come tonight and they will come in the morning. Ok I agreed then she ask what type of cars I told her and she said there's extra charges for the work van and the suburu. Then she follows with I'm not in the AAA-service area. I asked her why AAA would assign them the job if we were out of the service area. She said I'm not going to argue with you and hung up the phone. This woman is nasty and her behavior to a person in need is a man unacceptable way to treat another human. I will never use them or recommend them. Clearly they are the only game in Evergreen and could care less for their contract with AAA or customers. Sad day for our family. read more

The 1 star is not for the service. They did fine towing my car out of a ditch. My issue is we have AAA and D&J told us AAA does not cover extracting a car out of a ditch. That is 100% false after making a follow-up call to AAA. We paid D&J over $300 for the service and are now getting reimbursed by AAA. D&J should know this. There aren't many towing service options in Evergreen so they probably do a lot for AAA. Now AAA has to go after them to get reimbursed. SO unethical!! read more

After calling to make arrangements to have a vehicle towed was given a quote of $125. They asked me the address for pick up they asked me the address for delivery with mileage determined before providing the quote why would it not be considered in my quote. It wound up costing me nearly twice the quote they gave me . At the very least I think the company should be upfront about any "additional costs" which are likely to double your bill. It's not that I find the price unreasonable. I just think it was terribly misleading. I asked what it would cost they told me $One price and then charge me nearly double it. We had a contractor get stuck in our driveway (RWD and bald tires don't mix with Evergreen driveways) and we called D&J Towing to help him out. They were very friendly, asked all the right questions to prepare for the situation, and came within 30 minutes of the call to help him out with chains for his tires. One of their drivers got out of their vehicle at a very public intersection in Evergreen because he thought I cut him off. He then approached my car yelling "are you going to get out of your car? Do you want to fight?" I was shaking, I was so terrified. Supposedly this driver has been fired but the owner and other employees have been horrible in light of this whole experience. Brady, owner, has blamed the entire incident on me, made excuses for the drivers actions (again because I "cut him off") and has never one apologized. I had the misfortune of becoming acquainted with D&J's Towing, and their owner Shady Brady, on June 22 when I called AAA for a tow. D&J's neglected to chain my car, consequently it launched down my driveway, through my safety barrier and down a cliff where it struck and destroyed trees on my property. Luckily my husband, who was standing nearby was not struck, he certainly would have been killed! Since the time of this neglectful mistake it has been a nightmare trying to get a fair settlement for the damages to my property as well as my car. Please look at my photos; they illustrate the condition of my car prior to a D&J's tow and the condition after. Unless you are ready to scrap your car and deal with a dishonest creepy dude, avoid this place. Tell your AAA dispatch not to send D&J's! The guy that came was extremely professional and came in the middle of no where within 30 minutes compared to my State Farm roadside assistance. There was no damage to my car or anything and I'm really shocked with how amazing the guy did. They get the job done and they are super kind awesome people. This is the company I would first pick to come and save me from a situation like I was in. It was cold, dark, and hours of waiting but called them and rescued me immediately. I don't have a lot of high expectations for the ethical practices of towing companies, but this one is at the bottom of the barrel. Just another cog in the wheel, capitalizing on people's misfortune. Even to the point of charging 2.25% on credit card transactions! As a small business owner, I find their business practices sleezy and unethical. A non-stop yelping Dashund behind a closed glass door creates the ambiance and adds to the classy warning sign hung on the counter: "I can only please one person a day. Today isn't your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either." I highly doubt they're capable of pleasing anyone, on any day. Here's an example of their extortion: $125 call charge $6/mile $30/day storage - regardless if the registered owner is physically unable to pick it up. Terry towed my car after I had a very scary and traumatic car accident. (Luckily no serious injuries but my car was certainly totaled) however, I was very shaken up and Terry was so friendly and exactly what I needed in the moment. Then when I got to D&J, Gene could tell I was still very emotional. She gave me a big hug and I genuinely made me feel better. As she was leaving for the day, she got into her car and through he window said, "do you need another hug?" And I really did, so she got out of her car, embraced me and told me that if ever I needed a hug, I could come and see her. Seriously, her compassion was what I needed. She even recommended me to take and epsom salt bath and gave me warning that I will probably be very sore after my third day. I really appreciated her kind words. When something horrible like a car accident happens, sometimes all you need to feel a bit better is a stranger to be kind to you. Called GEICO for roadside assistance they sent out d&j towing. They had all the details sent a truck and then when arrived said there truck couldn't tow the van. Made up a story about dually and they didn't know. That is what a 3500 sprinter is! Anyway 3 hrs later still waiting on side of road for a different tow truck b cause they couldn't figure out or look up the details before he got here. My 2nd great experience with D&J began with 2 of the amazing lady dispatchers (off hours), who gave me an estimate and got it all set up for the next day at a certain time. Not only were they there exactly on time, but I got to meet Eric Hartman, who let me ride with, and ask him advice on multiple mechanical and tire issues. I used D and J towing through AAA last week. The dispatch lady was very nice and to my knowledge, until today, everything had gone smoothly. I got a call from my mechanic today stating that during the tow, the shifter solenoid had been broken which meant in that car, I would have to replace the entire thing, not just the solenoid. This happens when the shifter is forcefully manipulated in to a different gear while parked and is HUGELY common with towing apparently. So, following my call and discussion with my mechanic, I called D and J to see if we could come to some sort of mutual reconciliation. HUGE mistake. I explained the issue to the apparent manager/owner who supposedly is the one who towed my car. After a decently long conversation, he told me that I needed to stop being such a bitch and that it wasn't his fault I drove a piece of shit car (definitely isn't a piece of shit) and that he wouldn't be helping me because I'm a dumb girl and don't know anything about vehicles. So, following this incredibly pleasant discussion, I called AAA who says they have had previous complaints of this nature with their company and filed a claim on my behalf. I did some more digging and found multiple other reviews of this nature. We will be keeping the parts that have been ruined by D and J and I will have signed statements as well. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend them in any way shape or form. On the way to Steamboat on my birthday, my Jetta overheated at Lookout Mountain. Unhappy birthday to me. But wait, I called AAA and Taylor with D & J Towing very quickly came to our rescue. AAA had told us someone would come within 90 minutes and Taylor showed up in less than 10. He expertly got my car on the tow truck and was pleasant company on the way back to my mechanic in Littleton. He even swung by my house so my friend could pick up her car to get us to Steamboat. He made what could have been an awful experience into just a delay. And definitely helped save my mood so the celebrations could commence once we finally arrived in Steamboat. With AAA I didn't really get a choice of towing company, but if you do D & J is a great choice and maybe you'll be lucky enough to get Taylor as your tow truck operator. read more

Peggy got on the phone and made calls to Cadillac and went above and beyond helping. She treated my Aunt like family and realized she was frightened, so got Eric headed her way quickly. Last Saturday morning (2 AM) Had my car towed 6 miles (12 Round trip), however I let them know i lived in Conifer and wouldn't be able to pick it up until the following Monday when i returned from a trip to the High Country. They told me they would cut the storage fee in half. Well come Monday I arrive around 10 AM to pick up my Subaru STi with about $200 cash thinking that would surely be enough. The front desk girl? tells me i owe $325.... seems a little overpriced but i pay it. Once in my car i notice my gas mysteriously goes from above a half tank on Saturday morning when i left it, to my gas light turning on once im leaving their yard.... I just got stuck in Genesee, in the snowbank on the side of a road. After an hour wait the tow driver said he would not come down the road because it had 2 inches of snow on it. It was a fairly steep road but my brother in law later got down it and got me out and back up with no special equipment and not the best tires. I will never call them again. read more

Very nice and professional.... Towing is always expensive but they worked with me after I explained my situation. I wasn't going to post anything until I read the other post from other customers and felt I had to. I'm a very literal person and I this is not the first time I have needed a tow the first company (not this company) I had my car towed through was my fist accident and they towed me home I didn't have the cash to pay on me but told them the money was in the house the driver told me I had 2 minutes to get him the cash or he was taking my car the impound lot. I wonder if people skip on the bill a lot but I think this was uncalled for in my book. But D&J worked with me every step of the way I think I called them everyday just to make sure I was still in the loop. They also told me if my insurance had towing road side part of my bill would be reimbursed and it was not all of it but part of it just the towing not the storage or fees but hay some is better than none. When it was all said and done yes it was expensive but so is a lot of things, and they explained why they had to charge what they did and I was confident that they were not taking advantage of me. And just to make sure what they told me was true I called around and found they were the least expensive in town, I also researched tow trucks and how expensive it is to operate one. So thank you D&J I'm glad it's not my job lol but glad you all have decided to take on the task. read more
