Horrible service! If there was a zero I would put that. The man, I don't know his name, was unbelievably RUDE! I walked in there to get just a little over an inch sewed because the slit on my dress was way too high. I wanted about an inch maybe an inch and a half sewed. He told me $15 and I politely said can I have it for $10 because it was something that I know was going to take him only five minutes to do. He very rudely took the pin off where he was going to sew it to and told me you could go and turned his back on me. That is not how you treat a customer. Instead, he could have politely said, sorry but that's all I can offer. Then if I choose to say no then I say no, you don't just tell me you can go and turn your back on me. If you have an important piece for a once in a lifetime celebration or a strict deadline, I DO NOT recommend taking it to D&S alterations. I had a lot of problems with my wedding dress. Consistently late with deadlines, disorganized, and he did not actively listen to my requests. After 5 conversations reviewing the alterations to make sure we were aligned, he moved forward and CUT OFF MY TRAIN. Completely opposite of what we agreed on. He then charged me for the extra repairs. On the positive, he did find a new lace to replace the section removed. The work was nice quality. But a huge mess to manage as a bride. This could all could have been prevented with better notes and organization on his side. read more

This is my first time using a tailor and Danny has set a high bar for how personable and knowledgable one can be. I'll update my review once I have the finished dress but I am hopeful and expectant :) Even with prom/wedding season (there were a ton of gowns on the rack), he was able to accommodate my timeline of needing the dress-- 8 business days to promise me my dress several days before my friend's wedding! I had a bridesmaid dress that I needed altered and Sunny did a fantastic job! The dress came two sizes up from my regular size, so she had to take in quite a few inches as well as taking off a few inches from the length of the dress. The dress was done a week later (with a week to spare before the wedding!) and it was perfect. Also worth mentioning, Sunny and the other staff were incredibly nice too. This is my tailoring choice for life! I've had several jobs done here, and they were always done quickly, perfectly, and for a reasonable price. One of the jobs I had done here was one a different tailor told me couldn't even be done! On top of that, the service is always very friendly. I've had multiple horrible experiences here over the past several months. I've kept coming back hoping things would turn around, since prior I had been coming here for years, but the customer service is some of the worst I've known. When I came back to kindly ask that a shirt be re-hemmed to be shorter because the tailor hadn't cut it as much as I wanted, he yelled at me 'Your fault, not mine!' He also commented on how my waist size has grown and used to be more narrow which just felt inappropriate. I really wanted to try giving this family owned place business especially during the pandemic, but sadly I can no longer excuse the service experience. read more

Hmm the stitching off of my skirt unraveled and it costs 10-15 to hem a straight line?! Do I look like I'm made of money. Not very welcoming and not very pleasant. I wanted to support this business. I really did. I came in needing alterations to a bridesmaid dress and said I was flexible with time, so he asked for two weeks to do it. I come in two weeks later and my dress is sitting on the table not done. He asked for 3 more hours. I come back in 4 to give him even more space. We discovered Danny in a mad rush to get a stage outfit tailored for the hip hop festival, Rolling Loud in Miami. Hearing his pleasant voice and infectious attitude over the phone, we knew this was a tailor we wanted to do business with. He turned an orange Aviator's jumpsuit from Surplus Store into something that felt and looked, like 5 million bucks. This naturally led to future business-- I brought to him a black Theory suit that was given to me (the fit was off). He took my measurements, I looked at myself in the mirror proudly, we laughed, and I knew I had made a true friend. I trusted Danny, and he delivered as a tailor and a kindred spirit. He simply crushed the tailoring job. My pants fit so nice, my pants are cut at the perfect length to accent my black loafers. My jacket makes me look so much better than I actually am. My mind races to the idea that all my clothes can fit like I now know they can fit. Danny, thank you for allowing a young man like me to feel that immortal feeling of feeling dapper and extremely presentable to the world. You don't tailor/alter garments-- you bless garments. I would've liked to give five stars, but I didn't get a chance to have my item altered. I called on the phone and got a quote of $15 for a pants hem, but because these are palazzo pants I made sure to mention it to the person on the phone to get a better idea of the price. He may have misunderstood me and said it would be the same price. I immediately drove to the store and he quoted me $25, $10 more than what he had said on the phone. This was just fine because I knew that my item was a bit more work. The problem was that he wouldn't honor the 20% off yelp coupon for a first time alteration That is clearly listed on the yelp site. This false promo should be removed. He may very well be a great tailor, but it seems that he's operating dishonestly. The truth is I probably would have gotten the job done with him without the discount had it not been advertised, given the circumstances I wouldn't feel comfortable using a business that doesn't honor their promotions. At the end of the day this is more of a warning to not rely on the advertised promotion decide to get work here. read more

Saved my wedding day! Purchased a custom dress that designer didn't want to bustle a slight train on. But had a dance routine that would have made me trip on it. The first 3 alteration places I contacted couldn't do it in time. Was in the area visiting the nearby jewelers when I found this place next door. They worked OT to bustle the dress AND noticed that the skirt wasn't sewn right and fixed that too. D&S was wonderful! I took my bridesmaid dress that I somehow ordered "extra length" on, and what was supposedly a size 2 would fit a very tall size 6 person. Needless to say they had their work cut out for them, pun intended. I picked it up a week later and it was a perfect fit. They were so sweet and I know it wasn't an easy job. I called days ago and made an appointment to have 4 jackets tailored. The man I spoke to said to come in on Monday 3/22 at 1:00pm. On Monday 3/22 at 9:00am I get a call saying that 1pm wasn't good and I needed to come in at 12:30pm. I told him that it wasn't going to work for me. I have a packed schedule and I can't just cancel client meetings on his whims. He still insisted that I come in at 12:30. "Oh okay, yes, you come at 12:30" like 3 times after I said there was no way I could do that. If you make me make an appointment for your services, and you tell me what fits into your schedule, I expect it to be kept. A word to small businesses in this trying financial time: Customers are not at your mercy. We are not here to serve you or your needs. It's the other way around. We are paying for that distinction. You might be a small business, but you're still a business. Act like one. Thanks to this unprofessional nonsense this small business has lost a $200-$300 job in a time when non-essential services are suffering and small businesses are dropping like flies. Oh, and it's the consumer's fault when small businesses fail... right. read more

I have found my new tailors! I was in a jam and needed an Indian outfit tailored in less than 48 hrs. Danny and Sonny came to my rescue. Not only do they do impeccable work but their customer service is wonderful and prices very reasonable. When I returned for my fitting, I took them three more pieces to work their magic on. I am so happy with their work and am thrilled that I have found them. I also want to mention that Danny was a high fashion tailor in New York and has an eye for what will look good. I brought my off the rack suit here to be tailored. Cost was $100 for the alterations, I picked it up and the jacket was still too big, they would take it in more for an additional $39. Went to pick it up and the cost jumped to $49 due to "additional work". Now the total is basically $150, granted the suit did need a lot of work and i understand time is money. I'm already annoyed at this point but the kicker is they gave my garment bag and solid wood hanger to another client. Call me crazy but I expect all my property back, especially at this price. They said they will call me when my bag comes back (like that will happen). If I do receive my property back then I will gladly update this review. This tailor is a keeper! I have been to numerous alternation shops here on the westside and never found anyone that I could consistently rely on to provide me with exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, only being 5'3" and not having an easy body to fit clothes I need the services of a tailor frequently. I like wearing well-fitting clothing! Great work but needs to work on customer service skills. Was a little offended as I came in to get my daughters prom dress altered and the male owner was impatient with me and treated me like I was not willing and ready to pay for my requests. I am so happy with the alteration Danny made in my wedding dress. He made what i really wanted on my gown--- to put on a lace sleeve on my tube gown! Though it took a few weeks including my trial fit to finish, i am still very much satisfied with the result. In fact, my guests complimented on my gown, simple but elegant. Though it is a bit pricey specially the hem cut, but the quality is good. Still i recommend them on any alterations with any type of dresses and gowns. Very nice couple as well. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have a weekend full of events that I dropped off dress pants and a dress to be slightly altered for over a week ago. I was told they would be ready by end of day yesterday. So this morning on the way to the airport we stop by to pick them up and I walk in to him cutting my dress!!!!! And the pants laying out with the safety pins in them the same way we left them over a week ago! Nothing was even touched until this morning maybe minutes before I walked in! On top of all this, the tailor would not listen to me when I told him I cannot wait any longer, I can't come back. I need my stuff now and a refund. Instead of giving my stuff back he proceeded on with fitting the next customer and cashing him out... this man walked in 10 minutes after me. It wasn't until I went back to my car to get my fiancé, having to wake up my napping baby, that we got our clothes back and a refund. I just cannot believe how I was being treated. Price was very reasonable too. Only weird thing was they asked me to pay up front - at every other tailor I've been to you pay when you pick up the clothes - but since they did great work it was not a problem.
