D'Atri's is one of my favorite resturants, but it is time for them to get it together. I have previously given them good ratings, but it is time for them to learn how to deals with food allergies. It is as if they have never heard of someone having food allergies. This is a life threatening condition and they act like it is my problem and there is nothing they can do to accommodate me. Every time I have been there, different waiters each time, it's always as if they are saying what are they supposed to do about it. It time for them to get policies in place to deal with food allergies. I hate to give somewhere I love so much a bad review, but this is a serious issue. read more

Pretty great local place! My BLT was perfect, hubs' Salisbury steak was awesome, and our cousins' food was also excellent! We highly recommend the Hoagie Salad. Really wonderful iced tea as well. Most places tea tastes old, but theirs was . GREAT prices as well!!! read more

Whenever I travel 68 I make it a point to stop at D'Atri's. The food is amazing. Their signature meal is a steak sub. It seems like a simple sandwich but it's overloaded with meat, mayonnaise and a shredded lettuce that is seasoned wonderfully. Be prepared to make a mess. I suggest the sweet peppers as an add on to the sub. read more

I am writing a review for carry-out, and not dine in service. While I was on my way to Deep Creek Lake, I was told that I had to stop at this location to fully experience the "Amazing steak subs". When I called to place my order, they were very friendly and helpful while explaining all of the things that would be included in the sub (tomato, lettuce, sweet peppers, cheese, miracle whip, meat and onions). I was very skeptical about the Miracle Whip, but, being a purist, I decided to go with it, as all the locals were all the rave about it. The next step in ordering would be asking for what size sub you want. Again, my friends who recommended this place to me, told me to "go big, or go home" so I went with the large. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order, I immediately became suspicious when my bag that held my sandwich had some serious weight to it. After paying, I took my sub to the car in hopes of being able to eat while riding in the car. MISTAKE. This is not an eat-on-the-go type of sandwich. This behemoth that has the audacity to be labeled a "sub" should most definitely be eaten at a table, on a plate, with a knife and a fork. First, they overstuff this (but in a good way), and DON'T CUT IT in half. This, is not acceptable etiquette when serving a HUGE sub such as this. Second, the moment you pick it up to put it in your mouth, you'll either A) not be able to fit it in your mouth, B.) have a lap full of meat/lettuce/innards from the falling sandwich components, or C) Get a hand-full of Miracle whip, as it seemed as though they completely drenched the inside of the hoagie bun with half a jar of the stuff. Now, if all those things sound appealing to you, then this is something you'll thoroughly enjoy. I however, did not. After the first few bites, I found that though the meat was well seasoned, and the tomatoes/sweet peppers nice and ripe, the bread KILLED it for me. The bun had almost a stale taste to it, where it wasn't at all soft, and almost had the taste of, for lack of a better word, cardboard. I ended up just taking a fork and scooping out all of the meat from the inside, while abandoning the bun. Overall, I'd say that the sandwich wasn't that great, and I would more than likely look for other dining options when in the Cumberland area. read more

This place is amazing! I came to visit my sister and she brought us here to this little family restaurant. The cheese steaks we ordered are huge and everything is so fresh!! Service is amazing as well. I've never given 5 stars or rave reviews but this place deserves it! I'm so glad we came, and we will be coming back again to eat here soon. :) read more

I stopped here on the way home for takeout as I was passing through the area. I've always heard it was great, so I thought I'd give it a try. I only went in to the take out area on the left side of the building. They have a pastry case and homemade bread for sale in this area. The restaurant was packed on Monday at 2pm. I couldn't believe how busy they were for mid afternoon. I ordered the house special, a toasted pepperoni roll with sauce and cheese. I'm from WV and have pretty high standards for pepperoni rolls. All I can say is WOW!! For $6.40 with tax, I indulged in a massive, amazing, delicious, cheesy, saucy, pepperoni roll. They used sliced pepperoni (as opposed to stick), cut the bun down the middle, covered it in marinara sauce, then topped it with cheese and toasted it. I started chowing down in the parking lot and finally finished this massive treat crossing the WV state line (about 30 miles). I highly recommend this place. The staff were super nice, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean, and they pride themselves on true customer service. My only complaint is that it's an hour and a half away from home! I only eat one thing at this restaurant, a ham hoagie. The seasoned lettuce makes this a hoagie like no other. If you haven't had one, hurry and get one. We always stop here for dinner when we are in town visiting family. We recently found out they will ship hoagies and have had one shipment arrive in TX. The hoagie that was shipped was just as good as eating in the restaurant. I also like that you can do take-out. read more

How can one give this place less than 4 stars? This place makes some of the best subs in America. If you ordered anything other than a hogie, or salad then you deserve one star my friend. For 20 years I have been visiting my MIL in Cumberland, and D'Atris is the must stop. We've eliminated the cheesesteak bun and just gone for the cheesesteak salad. There's no illusion of diet food, but the deliciousness without the miracle whip and bun make it awesome. read more

Third time there this year. First two times great cheese steak salad. It's a family place with booths and tables. Well lit, busy, pleasant staff and a good sized Italian menu. I was looking forward to this evening's meal, but two of us were very disappointed. Our cheese steak salad and steak salad were over the top on salt. It was not the dressing on the side, it was their lettuce and the bottom of the bowl was way to salty. Not sure why there would be salt in the lettuce. Not sure what to advise overall as this is a locals favorite, but, someone messed up tonight. read more

At first glance of D'atri's menu I must say I thought the price was a bit high priced... Really almost 10 bucks for a large steak sub? Once my food arrived I then understood the price point.. this sub was the size of 2 normal subs shoved together. The hardest accomplishment was trying to figure out a way to pick half of this sub up to get it to my mouth. Delicious! The seasoned Lettuce was great, and the sweet peepers added a great flavor. As a local when out of town visitors ask where they should eat this is one of my top spots to send them to. The cheese steak sub is deliciously topped with their homemade seasoned lettuce and I would think their top seller. Their Italian menu is great as well. You get a dish of Lasagna that I can get two meals out of! Wonderful wait staff as well. Make sure to grab a home made dessert on your way out, I'd suggest a chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie or brownie or a turnover. Very popular local sit down restaurant. Two levels. Love sitting in the upstairs level and looking out. Nice variety of menu selections, from amazing subs to generous and tasty pasta dishes. Led here by way of traveling through Maryland and consulting Yelp. This sit-down restaurant was clean. The waitress was courteous, attentive and helpful. However our food was less than stellar. Sandwiches were huge, as promised by fellow Yelpers. Cheese steak sandwich - meat was unseasoned, couldn't detect provolone cheese as it was overpowered by the saltily-seasoned lettuce and intermittent globs of miracle whip. Cheese hoagie could have been improved by heating it to meld the ingredients and flavors together. Water and soda tasted heavily chlorinated and could be improved with a carbon-filter to remove chlorine. Total was about $16, which is not too bad for the quantity of food, however the quality could be improved. read more

I usually have very good experiences here but today was not 1 of them. My husband was eating left over food at home and found a BREAD TIE in his buffalo chicken sub. This was horrible and disgusting. Stopped here on our way back home from Ohio for carry-out. The place was packed, obviously a favorite of locals and travelers alike. We ordered the steak and cheese and the Italian sub. Coming from an area dominated by the Philly style cheesesteak, it was a little off putting to travel out west and run full stop into the land of the "steak and cheese", a decidedly different animal including strange elements like toppings and condiments. The famous D'atri steak sandwich is not the cheesesteak of my homeland but I became accustomed to it; it's definitely a fork-and-knife level monster and the "seasoned" dressed lettuce is the most integral topping in the locals' eyes. My husband is from Cumberland and we always go to D'atri's whenever we visit family there. All of their food is delicious, but our favorite is the cheesesteak salad. The seasoned lettuce and hot and sweet peppers really take it over the top! Also love their pastas and Italian subs. Would definitely recommend it if you're in the area. Exceptional staff and food. It was disappointing that midway through a Friday service, this restaurant did not have a menu item of Baked Haddock, so an alternate seafood entree needed to be ordered.
