The hostess staff seemed disorganized & lacked basic hospitality skills. Negatives: No dipping sauce options mentioned during online ordering or offered at pickup. Naked buffalo wings it is, I guess! One tiny BBQ sauce cup for a 1/2 rack of ribs? Was that portion meant for tasting or teasing? Sides were "blink and you'll miss them" small. Cornbread as a side option? It should come standard with most meal combos, especially the Pick 2-4. Collards were ok, but saltier than a bad breakup. Fried cheesecake sounded intriguing to me. Sadly, it tasted more like fried rubber. The filling had a weird texture & was dry. Lesson learned -- sauce shouldn't need to be rationed, & dessert shouldn't fight back.

Our waitress Jasmine was THE BEST - she was attentive, filled our waters without us ever having to ask, swapped out our silverware and cleaned off the table after appetizers and very pleasant to speak with. Additionally she gave us real suggestions for popular food items on the menu (not just the stereotypical suggestions that also happen to cost the most) and was a breath of fresh air to have a honest and friendly waitress after a long day. The meat and cheese board was a lovely appetizer. Hubby had a ribeye which was perfectly cooked, and I had short rib pappardelle. Both were delicious. Dessert was icing on the cake!! It was a wonderful ending to a perfect day.

A large area with a outdoor bar that looks fun this summer. It overlooks a Double A baseball field. And you are right in the outfield and you don't need to purchase tickets. Wait staff was nice. It is set in the lobby of the hotel and you do have a wide open concept. The actual deck is a short walk down a hall, it is not directly off restaurant. We will definitely be back. To say the experience was beyond disappointing in an understatement. To be clear, this review is not about the food. As loyal customers who visit Tavern in the Square often we already know and enjoy the menu. The bartender was polite and pleasant throughout the interaction, despite overcharging for food and drinks we did not order. However, the situation overall was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. We ordered one beer and a green tea shot and before we even finished the drink we were abruptly told we were "cut off". This made absolutely no sense. We were not intoxicated and had barely even started our drinks. When we asked to speak with management the only explanation we were given was that they have had fights there before. That reasoning is COMPLETELY illogical what does that have to do with us as individuals? If that is truly their policy then why was not everyone else at the bar treated the same way? We tried multiple times speaking with the waitress and management to get a clear and consistent answer, but no one could provide one. The responses were vague inconsistent and frankly concerning. At that point we could not help but question whether we were being singled out unfairly. When we raised that concern the staff could not provide any reassurance or clarification they simply avoided the question. For context, we are loyal Tavern in the Square customers and have made over 80 reservations at various locations since January of this year. We have NEVER experienced anything like this before at any of the MA locations. This situation was embarrassing, confusing, and unacceptable. We will NEVER return to this location. Based on this experience we do not recommend this location to others given our concerns about fairness and how we were treated. I have reached out and expect a clear response from corporate explaining what happened here.
