I've had a drink 3 times and food twice and it was really unfortunate. I was hoping it would be more appealing based on the reviews and menu. It looked great but the taste was not there. One of the drinks I got had lilikoi and it was so sour I threw it out. Then a pink bubbly drink which had no taste threw it out. The mango drink was good but missing something. My kids didn't like the nachos. It was a weird queso. There is two people on staff that are super sweet. A gentleman and a sweet lady with glasses. There's one that needs an attitude makeover! The food, presentation, and service was simply fantastic! Since we had a destination wedding and were not able to do a tasting, we had to rely on our coordinator's recommendation and praise of D'Lish. But even still, I was a little worried about it being good at best, because of the notorious reputation of "wedding food". But to our delight and amazement every single item was delicious and hence she named her business appropriately so. The food was a hit with the guests and everyone kept coming up to me raving about the hors d'ouevres and asking me if I got to try it yet, like the kalua pork quesadillas, and the thai crab and green mango salad on crispy wontons. Everyone had a favorite. Gina and her team were so accommodating to our custom requests and the service staff was extremely friendly and warm. Gina is so amazing; I don't know how I could have planned my wedding without her! My Sister attended one of her weddings (that her Sister Leigh also catered) and could not stop raving about the amazing food and the beautiful decorations. I was really nervous about planning a wedding in Hawaii from New York, but as soon as I spoke to Gina, I knew that I was in good hands. Gina's attention to detail is unsurpassed and even though she had her hands full - June is a popular wedding month - she was always responsive and someone I knew I could trust. All of the vendors that Gina recommended, from the photographer to the Priest, were professional, put together and really made my wedding day come together (and special). ...and Leigh's wedding cake was just mouthwatering!!! I cannot stop thinking about it. In fact, I didn't even get the chance to save the top of the cake - my husband and I devoured it the next morning! My wedding guests -- to this day, almost a year and a few months later -- still talk about how good the food was. And there's one particular thing I'd like to mention about Gina. The house that we rented for the wedding (it's privately owned and next to Waimanalo Beach park, and its pink) while an amazing venue for our wedding, it was a nightmare to stay at. The caretaker was awful, there were ants everywhere, they lied about all the guest rooms being Air-conditioned and the list goes on. They were also rude to a few of my wedding guests as part of the house was closed off that day (yet another long story). Gina stepped in to help deal with the caretaker/owners, even though she really didn't have to and she even followed-up with me when I returned to New York, asking for a list of things that affected our stay there. This review has been long overdue! What can I say that hasn't already been said in all of these glowing reviews here? Well, I was looking for the right words to accurately describe my experience working with Gina, and to be honest, some of the feelings were mixed at first, but when we received our wedding video, it definitely reminded us of just how valuable Gina and her team's services were in contributing to the success of our BIG day! If it wasn't for her, our wedding day wouldn't have been as PERFECT as it was. So reflecting back almost a year ago, these 5 shining stars are well deserved by Gina and her amazing team! =) D'Lish is a full service, one-stop shop for all of your wedding needs, but being the DIY bride that I am, I only needed help tying everything together on the actual day, so I hired Gina as my Day-of Coordinator and Caterer and she came through with flying colors! I planned my entire wedding via the internet and phone, all the way from New York City. This required a TON of patience and blind trust in people who you mostly had to pay in full, well in advance of the actual wedding day. I have to admit, at first I sort of felt like her response time could have been better and a part of the time I just felt like I wasn't as cherished of a customer because I wasn't paying for a "full package", but it must have been my bridezilla hormones raging and playing tricks on me! Gina really came through when it was showtime and that's all that really mattered. So being that I was planning the entire wedding myself, this included doing the flowers and centerpieces the day before the wedding. Our venue was nice enough to allow us the use of their facility to tackle this task. Gina stuck around after the rehearsal and helped us out by using the flowers we had to created a "sample" centerpiece for us to copy. She totally got my vision! By the end of the afternoon, we had all the centerpieces ready and stored them into the refrigerator. The next day... the BIG day... I almost fainted when I looked in the fridge and a good amount of the flowers wilted from being too cold... then came Gina to the rescue! She salvaged what was left of the flowers and really helped us to improvise.. everything came out just as beautiful as if nothing had gone wrong. Then, more flower drama... I had ordered my bouquet from another vendor and when it was delivered, I was extremely disappointed because the bouquet looked nothing like what was discussed, even after I provided the vendor with multiple pictures... not even close! Gina saw that I was really upset and offered to help make me a new bouquet with the flowers from the centerpieces, but me being sensitive to the feelings of the florist, just felt really bad, so I declined the offer, but it was the sweetest gesture and exactly what I needed at that time of crisis. Gina also offers a floral service and would typically charge for making a bouquet, but she was willing to offer her help in my time of need. I was truly touched. Moral of the story? Gina is an EXPERT at what she does and has a heart of gold! She truly understands the pressures that each bride would face on their special day and knows how to diffuse any situation where things don't go smoothly. I really felt like she bent over backwards to make sure that I was happy. I also noticed that throughout the night, she was really attentive and worked hard to make sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. I had a vision of what my dream wedding would be, and Gina was the KEY to bringing everything to life. On top of all that, Gina has proven to be knowledgeable of the venue, she offers fair and affordable pricing, and she is a person with great style and an artistic vision, not to mention all the food and the cake (made by her sister, Leigh, of Tiers of Joy) were all D'LISH!! She comes with a staff of highly trained professionals and our day couldn't have been more perfect without this dream-team! If you are considering D'Lish for your wedding or are undecided, I would definitely recommend "pulling the trigger" on this one, Gina is your GAL! Look no further! We hired D'lish to cater the food for a small (28 guest) wedding at our home, and I can't imagine it being any better. They were wonderful to work with from start to finish. The food was perfect, the staff were so kind and helpful, and Gina is just fantastic! She went above and beyond and helped me so much - from recommending the florist and bartender we used (who were fantastic as well) to reviewing and making suggestions on equipment rental. The whole day went off without a hitch. It was beautiful! The bride received compliments from all of the guests, some of whom went as far as to say it was the best wedding they'd ever attended. Gina made this one of the most pleasant catering experiences I have every coordinated. There's a reason they only have 5 star reviews. Very affordable for the quality that you get. We used them for a 100 person event over at Kapilina Beach Homes (they run the snack shack as well). Gina made this happen even though we were running close to the event date. The price quote was prompt and the process was very clear. We also had a hiccup with payment, but Gina was understanding and flexible given the circumstances. Attention to detail even with setting up the venue, and everyone loved the food! Gina is amazing! We live in Los Angeles but decided to have a destination wedding in Hawaii (Turtle Bay Resort). As you would imagine, we were extremely nervous about the turn out. With 2-3 weeks to go until our wedding, we discovered that our originally booked caterer had fallen through. Our wedding planner helped us narrow down some choices, and to the rescue came D'Lish catering. They were able to take our original menu, formulated by the other catering group, and keep the same spirit but transform in into their own. I was happier with the flexibility and attentiveness to our needs demonstrated by this company, and somehow I think our original catering fiasco happened for a reason... Needless to say, the actual food and drink did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious, and I only wish I personally had more time to savor it. Luckily, the serving staff was very attentive to our needs, making sure that we had food and drinks, so at least I got to eat the food at my wedding! We are so happy with our decision to go with D'lish & Tiers of Joy for our Wedding. Gina & Leigh are amazing people! We actually found D'lish on yelp. I contacted Gina after reading her outstanding reviews & we meet shortly after. Gina mentioned that her sister Leigh had her own Cake Company (Tiers of Joy) & is also the Chef for D'lish. Right after our 1st meeting with Gina we set up an appointment to meet Leigh. That completely sealed the deal for us. The cake trail was out of this world! Leigh was able to draw up exactly what we were looking for. We had tried 3 different sampIes (Mango Tango, Banana's Foster & Lemon Blackberry). They were all delicious, however, we chose to go with the Bananas Foster & Lemon Blackberry. One bite of her cakes & we were sold! I seriously had dreams of this cake leading up to the wedding day, not joking!! We decided to lock both D'lish & Tiers of Joy down for our July 7th Wedding. We never did a tasting of the catering, just figured if Leigh was the Chef of D'lish & she is able to make a wedding cake that good, why bother! We had decided prior to hiring Gina that we would be doing most of our planning on our own. So we strictly went with D'lish for Catering & Tiers of Joy for the Cake . However, Gina went above & beyond her catering duties. We had many glitches along the way, our site we had booked back in Aug. fell through in April, 3 months before our wedding!! Gina came to our rescue within nearly one month of our big day.! We had to leave our previous wedding planner due to to lack of basic communication and we we really weren't jiving. We actually met Gina through her sister Leigh who owns Tiers of Joy, a beautiful cake design studio / flower shop / all things decor for weddings and functions (we also highly recommend her!). We chose Leigh to do hand make our cake design and come up with the vignettes for our reception tables, seating area, and ceremony sight. Her knack for what the customer wants was phenomenal. Anywho Leigh suggested we talk to her sister Gina who could orchestrate the whole production. Right off the bat we knew Gina really cared as She listened, offered various ideas from previous wedding books, and took very quickly to our likes and dislikes. She had an amzing personality and was always smiling which left you very confident after the meetings with her. We had about 3 meetings with Gina where she got our ideas, made contact with our vendors and and got us all on the same page. Although busy with other jobs, Gina always made you feel as if your day was most important and was never flakey in remembering details or taking steps forward vice back. Her creativity was astounding and was evident in the flow of how the guests should move throughout the venue, the placement of drink tables and food catering tables, all the way down to the nitty gritty of what should be placed in the bathroom or bug repellent for the guests. Her attention to detail was mesmerizing. On the day of the big event, Gina was there there in full spirit, guiding vendors, assisting guests, and ensuring we were taken care of. She had an assistant who was also marvelous and helped keep everything on timeline and got people to where they needed to go. Gina stayed until the very end after we left ensuring everything was spick and span. She helped us get the remaining fees to the vendors and ensured the venue was spotless. D'Lish Catering did all the food for our recent wedding at Kualoa Ranch and it was D'LISH! We found their set menus on their website and went for the fanciest option with one small adjustment (we swapped out the smoked salmon salad for a chicken dish). And we added an extra appetizer option or two. We were planning the wedding from afar so we had to make menu choices based on recommendations, pictures and descriptions. Once we were in town we couldn't even have a tasting then because I guess they were setting up their new space so we just had to hope and trust that things would turn out well somehow. And they did! Everything was beautiful and yummy and the staff was nice. All of our guests loved the food and were very happy. And the wedding cake was no joke...seriously delicious. We also had no idea what we wanted for food or how we were going to pull it off. D'lish contacted us back quickly and we're extremely patient. They never pushed us into adding something to the menu we didn't want. They gave great recommendations really helped walk us through the process. They made the planning easy and were available for any questions we had. The customer service from the initial contact to the event itself was just amazing. We had a very small reception dinner of about 20 people and every single one still tell us how good the did was. They helped us get the most out of our budget and did not sacrifice flavor for it. Gina and her team were absolutely AMAZING for our destination wedding in Hawaii. My wife and I are big foodies so having delicious cuisine for our wedding was extremely important and D'Lish catering did not disappoint! Gina was extremely prompt with her catering quotes and would quickly respond to any questions I had throughout the planning process. For catering selections she offers an extremely wide range of options for all palates and dietary needs ranging from healthy favorites to local dishes from the island. When I first spoke to Gina by phone, and then met in person, I knew I was going to hire her for catering (D'List Catering) and day of coordination. She was very prompt, which was so important to me as it demonstrated she was attentive and valued my business. I have to say that I called several other companies and they were unresponsive and/or very slow to get back to me with my basic questions. D'lish Catering Review The food during the tasting was absolutely delicious. We ordered the chicken and fish dish and loved both. The chicken with mashed potato and caramelized onions was soooo good. I'm not a big fish eater but the Mahi Mahi with crab cream sauce was yummy! For the wedding, we decided to go with the Beef and Fish dishes and not the chicken, per Gina's recommendation as a wedding favorite. The food was delicious on the wedding day (62 guests, plated) but I noticed the portions were much smaller than the tasting. Everyone loved and the food but I got several comments about people still being hungry. I prefer quality over quantity, but just wasn't expecting the smaller portions.. I think that could have been communicated better. The second observation was that the food was not hot, it was warm. Asking others, they had the same observation. I figured since we arranged them to have the kitchen, the food would keep warmer. To be fair, the wedding was outdoors, so it could have cooled down while the servers were walking the plates to the table. Overall, D'Lish offers the best value for the quality of food. The fact they were prompt and responsive is HUGE. I would recommend them to any bride looking for a caterer. Day of Coordination Review Gina was also hired to do day of coordination. Again, she was responsive, especially during the week of. With little direction on the table setting and placement of decor, her and her team made the reception look gorgeous. So many people complimented it too. I was very very pleased. Some areas that could've been improved include giving the MC (who was asked to step in just a few days before) better direction of the wedding timeline. Luckily he was a good friend of ours and funny, so it smoothed over the rough patches where it was obvious that he was clueless. Second, when we had the speeches with toasts, none of the speakers had a glass of champagne in their hand because they forgot them at their table. I would have liked if Gina/staff made sure that these people had a glass in their hand when being asked to stand up in front of the group. Gina really impressed me when she had the vendors chairs switched out and upgraded because they were delivered dirty and with scuffs. She didn't have to do that and she went above and beyond to push the vendor to get this done. All in all, I would defiantly use Gina again. She was great and I really appreciated her professionalism and promptness. I think their are some good lessons learned available here that can be easily addressed through better communication on both ends. We met with Leigh and Gina when we were planning on hiring a caterer for our wedding. We were so excited about their food and even did a cake tasting (my husband was obsessed with the peanut butter filling). In the end we decided to have our wedding at the Kahala hotel. We were not able to bring in our own food but decided to use them for their wedding planning and flower services. Gina was a great help and answered all of my emails (there were a lot) with every concern I had. Before the wedding she suggested a place that me and my girls go get our nails done. It was a great Idea and so much fun (champagne, nails, my girls...) The day of the wedding went so fast and we were glad we had Gina. It was like our dream wedding just magically appeared. The flowers hanging from the chairs and the gazebo decorations were amazing. It started raining during our ceremony, with out a skip Gina grabbed an umbrella and covered us. It is one of our favorite pictures. They came up with the idea of moving our flowers form one are to to another so we were able to save on flowers that no one could take home(since it was a destination wedding). In the reception room we told D'lish to be creative and we were so excited when we saw what they did. We had a Scottish wedding, and they used ribbons of the kilt color to wrap around flowers and vases. There were so many different artistic flowers on each table. It was more that we imagined. Through out the night it was as if some one else was throwing us the party. Gina was there taking care of every problem and question, it wasn't until the next day that we wondered how things got done and heard Gina was taking care of everything.
