Good food; friendly service. Gross misadvertising, however, as the menu clearly states that dessert is included with the dinner specials except for cheesecake, which is $2. When one orders the dessert, however, one is informed only pudding and dessert are included; cheesecake is $3 and pies and cakes are $2. We visited here as a group of 6 adults and two children on a busy Sunday morning. We were seated promptly and our waitress was on top of service for our stay, as busy as it was. So no complaints there. I did take one star off because while the food was fine, it wasn't great and the portions weren't what you might come to expect of diner food, which is what you will find on the menu. That being said, these are things that can be improved and I think despite numerous other restaurants occupying this building previously, they may really have something in this upscale diner concept they have going. Middletown is full of chain eateries but only has a couple of actual diners, across town from each other, and this is pretty much in the middle. So the location is good, the concept is one that fits a need in the area, the service is good and the food isn't bad. I will definitely come back again, I hope they stay open! read more

They were busy but we were seated promptly. Server was attentive in refilling our drinks and checking on us. Food was a mixed bag. 2 thought it excellent, 2 just ok. The burgers seem to be very good. Nice portions, pricing is pretty good for the amount of food you receive. I would recommend. read more

ONLY SELECTED ONE STAR BECAUSE COULD NOT SELECT ZERO.....Will NEVER go here again!! Did not even get to our meal except a little soup because half way through our drinks while waiting for our meal we noticed half of a broken water glass INSIDE my mother's soda cup!!! Gave it to the waitress, saw what appeared to be a manager go over near the ice bin. Then the waitress comes back with a new soda along with the hostess...no manager. I told them we would not be staying and that we just watched another waitress get ice!! They immediately said no the ice has all been changed but since this all occurred in a period of about 3 to 4 minutes that was clearly impossible!! Keep in mind my elderly mother had been drinking soda with broken glass....let that sink in a minute!!! I would now not trust eating anything from there!!!! read more

Over all, I do enjoy dinning at the D-Luxe Diner. However, I don like how the waitresses never give us separate checks when we ask for separate checks. And I don't like how the waitresses never offer to refill our cups of coffee. read more

Expensive, portions were good size but no flavor, 4 adults included one vegetarian, the wife got vegetarian wrap didn't even eat half of it, one of my daughters got chicken and eggplant parmigiana and she thought it was fish, I thought she was exaggerating so I tried it and she was right the whole thing tasted like fish, I got the ny stake whit 2 stuffed shrimp and a stuffed clam, the stake was cooked as I asked medium but it was really tough like biting on a pice or rubber, the stuffing on shrimp and clam was just like bread crumbs whit out flavor, the smash potatoes really plain no butter chives or sour cream just plain smash potatoes whit a bit of salt, I have no problem spending 100 bucks for dinner except for today needless to say we are never coming back. read more

The server was professional and friendly, the restaurant presented as clean and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. I ordered tacos and my husband ordered a Greek panini. The side of spicy rice was a ton of jalapeño slices and some rice. I love spicy food but it was soooo spicy and just tasted like it looked...a bowl of jalapeños. The best thing we had between the two of us was the French fries. read more

DISGUSTING FOOD... the only good thing was the service. Left our food on the plate...... politely paid and left. I was told it was bad but we decided to try it out for ourselves. Went for Sunday breakfast. How can you screw up breakfast Worst French toast....the inside was like eating stale white bread the outside was mushy and looked like they added some yellow food coloring... wouldn't even touch the bacon due to it not being cooked. Great selection of food!! I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the place. I had the taco salad and it was delicious!

The place was nice to walk in to, semi B-Z. We were seated some what under the projection screen so the view was open and nice. Our waitress came over to the table and asked if we wanted something to drink. She didn't introduce herself and we ordered a beverage. I asked for coffee and water with very little ice my wife ordered the unsweetened ice tea. At this point the fly arrived. The worst thing for us besides bad service is that. She came back with our drinks and still no name. I ordered the skirt steak done medium and broccoli and she said we don't have broccoli. I can't eat potatoes so I asked for a mixed veg and or white rice and was told only brussel sprouts, green beans or a rice pilaf so I said ok with the green beans and the rice pilaf. Wifey ordered the sliders and wasn't asked how she wanted them cooked and waffle fries as well. So as we waited for our meals the fly was in full force, only one and sometimes 2 but only one can make a difference. That for us was a bad situation by itself. Our meals arrive and looked pretty good and after she delivered our food and left the table (and no Worcestershire sauce by the way, just A-1) I look at my green beans and they are in some type of tomato sauce which I wish she would have said that because I would have done something else. The steak was cooked perfectly I gotta say, but the rice was the rice and the green beans were a turn off and I don't send anything back to the kitchen. My wife never got her waffle fries and we left it alone and not one time did I get asked if I would like a 2nd cup of coffee being I'm a big coffee drinker. All that being said, the place is very nice the meals were average to disappointing to a degree and it is what it is. Will we go back, that's up in the air at this point but don't put "D Lux" and not be able to deliver some basic food groups. They are in a good location and should do well but be "D Lux". this place is NOT somewhere you should go unless you want a rude waitress and bland food. the wait time to sit down wasn't terrible, 5-10 minutes. we sit down and my party of 3 revives only our place mats. we waited 10-15 just for the waitress to approach us and ask for drinks. by that point we already knew what we wanted to order. while waiting for her to come the first time around she did not check in to say she would be right there. after 5 minutes our drinks came and at that point we had to ask for silverware. our food took 30-40 minutes to come. when waiting for our food to come she never checked in at all. every time we were approached by the waitress she was rude with her tone and threw things on the table. also when waiting for our food, we kindly asked her "when do you think our food will be ready?" and with a rude tone and a attitude she said "it's coming". she rolled her eyes as she said it. we finally got our food after 30-40 minutes and she didn't even place the food in front of each person. she placed it randomly on the table and just walked away. the breakfast potato's i had were absolutely bland and mushy. the pancakes that me and another person at my table got, tasted as if they had garlic powder in them. after getting our food we got the check and she fit no check. our waitress was a blonde middle-aged woman who wore her hair in a bun. she sometimes would r even come directly to our table, she puked come on the other side of the booth where a wall was and she would hand us stuff instead of actually walking around the table. over all the food was not great at all and the waitress was absolutely rude, gave attitude and should not have her job!!!!!!!!! read more

I went to the diner with a co worker on 1/11/19. We have had good experiences in the past but this time was different. My co worker had an unsatisfactory meal. When the server asked if she enjoyed her food, she politely explained what she did not like. Keep in mind that my co worked did not ask for a replacement meal or anything in return. The waitress wanted the manager to be aware and asked the manager to come to our table. The manager (older man with mustache) arrived and asked about the meal and my co worker expressed her concern. The manager instantly became defensive and rude. He told my co worker that she was wrong about the food and that she got what she ordered and if she didn't like it, so be it. His customer service was so abhorrent and unprofessional that I was taken aback. I knew in that moment that although my food was satisfactory, I would not return to this establishment simply because the care is not there for customers. If I had an issue I would like to know that I am respected enough as a patron to be heard, without being dismissed out of hand which is what this manager did. I know my co worker was embarrassed, I was embarrassed for her. She did not make a scene. She politely thanked him, paid and expressed that she would not return or recommend the establishment. The manager could have cared less, shame on him. This is not how you treat customers or how you grow your establishment. For me, it's about principle and I would not return even if I wanted to. read more

Shame on the manage of this restaurant. I ordered my lunch which included soup; I was satisfied with the soup however the fish I was not. After finishing the other parts of the meal and we were ready to leave, the server asked if I enjoyed my meal. I explained my dissatisfaction of the fish, only because she asked. She said she wanted to notify the manager. The manager came over and after asking ME about the fish and hearing my reply he became very defensive and rude. The manager, dark hair, glasses, mustache and stout, with no patron service formality proceeded to tell me "oh well that is what you ordered and if you didn't like it that's my problem" I cannot remember everything he said but I was very embarrassed and angry of his treatment. I had to speak to myself so I would not react in His same disrespectful way. I told him thank you gesturing for him to leave the table. As I stated there I WILL NEVER patron that establishment again!! I never nor was I expecting a refund or discount. I again say shame on that manager, you lost a great customer and I will definitely relay my experience to others. read more
