I thought it was gonna be sooo good but I was disappointed. The crab cake was sooo heavily breaded. Hardly any crab meat. Taste like I was just eating bread. I love diners! I very much enjoy coming to D'lux diner. I think the waitresses are wonderful. The cooks are great, the food always taste delicious. The supervisor Sal Sosa worked the entire diner greeting guest and handling orders. He checked in on guest at the table and knows many patrons as they have become regulars. He checked in on the kitchen or wait staff to see if they needed assistance. Recently there has been a change in supervisors. Sadly, Sal has left the diner. I hope the same warm professional style is carried on to the guest and patrons of the diner. I enjoy my dinner and people watch. It's my down time to decompress for the day. I asked the manager did they honor AARP discounts because I was on a fixed income and he said no so I had to dine elsewhere. Was there another time and wanted to use the discount card I purchased from the kids for school and they would not honor unless I paid cash. We stopped here on our way home on very long drive. It was extremely busy and we grabbed 4 seats at the counter. Our waitress was attentive and did a great job. Apparently no one is supposed to work the counter and the owner in front is us began to yell at her. My husband and I spoke up to intervene as our kids were becoming nervous and honestly we were sad for our waitress. The issue was the understaffing of the establishment which he was taking out on all the staff, openly. It was unprofessional and really took away from our experience and the delicious food. I ate here a year ago and was very disappointed. Today I thought I would give them a second chance. Everyone has a bad day once in a while. Big mistake! No home-fries, they serve hash browns and they were not crispy at all (Very mushy). The bacon was not cooked and inedible. The eggs were perfect though. Coffee tasted burnt. This was a great diner to have a Sunday breakfast at, after a wedding. There are several hotels in this business park so having a couple of food options is great. The only other one I can remember is TGIF, which had not the best service when we went the night before. We were seated immediately and were provided coffee and water. What happened to this place? Used to have a beautiful bar, great drinks and great food. Now since new people took over. it's absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms are filthy and there are fruit flies everywhere. To try and justify and say it's a problem everywhere is just sad. It's a problem in dirty places. One of my favorite places in the past. Drove 18 miles to have our Easter dinner here as we've eaten here before and have enjoyed the food. Things were fine until the waitress got one tiny side dish wrong. No big deal, right? That's what I thought! Apparently her error sent her complaining to the manager, who instead of letting things be, insisted that the waitress did NOT get the order wrong but insisted I had changed my order. Huh? At the end of the meal I (perhaps childishly) scrawled on a napkin "The customer is always right". Would you believe that upon reading my message the waitress yelled out in a loud voice for all to hear "No, the customer is not always right". I couldn't believe that after we spent $153 (including a $23 built in gratuity that this waitress was allowed to yell that out to paying customers in a crowded restaurant! The manager did nothing to diffuse the situation which empowered th rude waitress. Incredible! SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Let's start with the first moment you walk in, there's a sour smell!! That should have been our clue to leave. Second clue uncleanness comes to mind quickly. The menus looked sticky and the tables were dingy just like the whole place. As we ordered I saw a fruit fly, as our food came I saw many fruit flies. They were ridiculous. The food was tasteless but the flies seemed to enjoy the smell of it. The server was okay but I don't think it's professional to call customers Babe & Honey. The manager did adjust the bill because of the flies which was nice I guess. We decided to stop for breakfast on our way thru New York. We were not greeted when we went in and after waiting a bit we asked about being seated and were rudely told to "just wait". After we were seated our waitress did come right over to us. We ordered juice and coffee. The juice was not juice but was a powered drink mixed with water, like Tang. The coffee was very bitter. We ordered our breakfast and it came right out. Eggs Benedict usually takes some time. The food was cold, bacon very thin, fatty and rubbery. Worst establishment ever. Took ages to just get water. Service is terribly slow. On top of the fact that I had a service animal on the establishment. Was told that was fine, apparently someone complained and was kicked out of the restaurant. was told I was a liar, and he was not a service animal. We have been frequenting this diner for several months now. The food is very good and the servers are very nice. The only problem we have there is little black flies that are very annoying. They get on the plate and crawl around. Only one or two on each plate. When the fly showed up we were almost done to we got our check and left. It's great to have this diner fairly close to where I live. They have a HUGE menu which includes standard diner items as well as many specialty items including pizza, burritos, skirt steak, toasted turkey. They have early bird buy one get one deals. Appetizers and desserts are always good. The setting is very modern, clean, and well lit. There is a full service bar as well. Service is always good too. Pros and cons: the service was adequate, however a couple things irked us. We ordered dinner specials but no bread basket was placed on our table. We asked for water at the beginning of the meal it came when the entrées came out. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area. My husband asked for linguine with clam sauce but it is not served here which was disappointing, as we expected traditional diner fare. I would say we were not overly blown away but may give it another chance when they have been open for a bit longer. Another thing to mention is that the portions were not huge in comparison to many other diners in the area. The food was good and the salad was fresh.
