Get the veal! It's so amazing! I go here Everytime I visit Albany. You definitely need a reservation. Servers are amazing personality wise but the service can be a little slow. Go when you want to have an amazing meal and sip some wine.

My mouth dropped when I saw the rating that D'Raymond's has on Yelp! This is one of my top two favorite Italian spots in the area. I love it so much that I asked my family to take me there for my birthday, and my boyfriend took me here when I got laid off to cheer me up! :) I have never been disappointed by D'Raymond's--ever. Their portions are huge, I always look forward to the complimentary fried dough buns because they're so good, the bread is fresh, and the food is mouthwatering. Their menu is diverse and has something for everyone--fish lovers, veal enthusiasts, and pasta fans. Some of my favorite appetizers are the antipasti, their massive mozzarella caruso (so cheesy and delicious!), and their Sicilian meatballs. This time, for my birthday, I had the manicotti--crepe-style pasta filled with ricotta cheese and fresh spinach, with the option of sausage, homemade meatballs, or both. And you bet I tried both. I definitely enjoyed the meatballs more! But I think my favorite entrée so far has been the Lobster Ravioli--the filling is insanely good, they definitely don't skimp on the lobster, and it's super filling. For dessert, my favorite so far is the chocolate toll house cake--it just hits different! But I've also had their cannoli, lava cake, and turtle cheesecake--all amazing. The staff at D'Raymond's are always so sweet and patient. D'Raymond's, you'll always be a favorite!

Everything was absolutely incredible, but the stuffed rigatoni (Thursday special) stole the show! Eric's service was absolutely fantastic and the food/experience was certainly worth the wait!! We will be coming back soon!

It had been several years since we dined at my wife's favorite Italian restaurant for sauce, D'Raymonds. It always seemed like a hassle to get someone to answer the phone to make a reservation. And of course, it was always necessary to make plans well in advance to assure the availability of a table on the day and time of your choosing. We are more last-minute decision makers than advance planners, so we frequently are disappointed at the unavailability of a reservation. We decided to try something different this time. Take-out! We called on a Saturday about an hour after they opened, did not have to wait too long for the phone to be answered, and were asked to hold while a server was summoned to take our order. We were able to specify a pickup time of 5 pm without any problem. There is a separate door on the side of the building for retrieving takeout orders. It opens directly into the back dining room. Our order was actually all packed and sitting on a counter waiting for pickup, but I was not aware that it was for us. A server asked if I was picking up an order, and when I replied in the affirmative, they said they would alert the server who took our order over the phone. From that point everything was normal. I paid for our food and was on my way home. Our dinners were excellent - Scaloppe Di Vitello Alla D'Raymonds ($28), and Scaloppe Alla Francesa ($28). The veal D'Raymonds was tender veal sauteed in olive oil and garlic with tomatoes, mushrooms and sweet peppers, with hot Italian sausage and herbs. Delicious! The sausage was very tasty too. The veal Francesa had veal dipped in seasoned egg batter with lemon, sauteed and served on a bed of sauteed escarole. Delicious also! Did I forget to mention that our meals included sides of spaghetti, Italian bread, and butter? There was plenty of good food to enjoy a second day.

My bestie and I decided to go for Italian on this rainy day to D'Raymonds. We didn't make reservations and were very lucky to get a table due to the place was packed. I felt like I was in little Italy; people laughing and talking reminded me of family dinners. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We received 2 rolls that were very soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. Next was the leafy greens salad. Very tasty with Black Olive Feta Vinaigrette dressing, homemade croutons and marinaded tomatoes and red peppers. Our meals came they both were hot off the grill! My meal was Capellini Pomodoro Grande Shrimp, mussels and spinach served in a plum tomato white wine clam sauce over capellini pasta. This was to die for! They asked if you want fresh grated parmesan cheese that she graded before I could snap the photo. Oh well ‍ Definitely coming back!

This is a classic, old school Italian joint. Absolutely amazing food. You can tell everything is made fresh, in house, and with care. The service was great too. Truly a classic restaurant everyone should experience.

I was promised that Grappa 72 would exceed my expectations. As an Italian-American AND a foodie, it's hard to wow me at an Italian venue. I can honestly say that this place was all that I was promised and more. What we ordered to share: crispy arancini (special app that day), eggplant parm, fried calamari. I am a red sauce snob, and all three of these delivered on presentation, quality, and overall flavor. Entrees we ordered included: halibut (entree special and my choice), pappardelle loaded with shrimp and chicken (also a special), pork osso bucco (stole the show!). We ended with individual desserts, and their Italian cheesecake was smooth and creamy. Service was reflective of high-end dining, yet the check for six people was moderate to affordable. Considering the quality, quantity, and overall experience, this is a place I need to get back to. Now I need to find an excuse to be in the Capitol Region so I can go back!

I decided to get the seafood special, which was a grilled branzino served with blistered green beans and wild rice. While the dish tasted a bit too oily for my liking, there was LOTS of food that came with this dish - enough for me to pack as a lunch the next day! What was also memorable about this experience was the live music playing at front. This is a very nice Italian resto for special occasions and date nights.

I ordered the duck, and having it prepared in different ways including as a sausage was honestly amazing. The eggplant appetizer was on another level, and the grilled octopus was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I also had an espresso martini, which was made really well. To top it all off, the pistachio cake for dessert was the perfect finish. Overall, this place is truly top notch great food, great service, and a great experience all around. We sat outside in the Tuscan garden. The bathrooms didn't have paper products , or anything to dry your hands with. Upon arrival the waiter introduced himself & told us that he was tired & this was his 2nd shift.( that should have been a heads up on the way things were headed) The service is usually on point at Cafe Capriccio. Our water glasses were never filled , our order & drinks took over 30 minutes to arrive . The waiter never not once checked on us to see how we were doing , if we needed anything. The food was not up to par tonight either . There was 1 chunk of bread between 2 people. The appetizer was meager & not as generous as usual. The dinner presentation was not pleasant. The taste was not much better the trout was not hot & on the dry side. The chickpeas left much to be desired. With the increased prices to dine out , service and food quality should be reflected in the cost. Before leaving I told the waiter of our disappointment with the service and our meal. He proceeded to say that he was sorry , this was his 2nd shift. I told him that was not an excuse. If this was our first time at Cafe Capriccio, it would most likely be the last . So sad to see the quality go down in such a beautiful high end restaurant.

Rosanna's -- A Genuine Gem That Deserves Every Star There…read moreare restaurants you visit and forget, and then there are restaurants that stay with you long after the last bite. Rosanna's is firmly in the second category -- and after an exceptional dinner that left both of us completely satisfied and already planning our return visit, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone for the entire evening. Warm, inviting and thoughtfully designed, Rosanna's strikes that rare balance between intimate and lively -- the kind of space that feels equally suited for a romantic dinner for two or a celebratory night out with people you love. The lighting is soft without being dim, the energy is buzzing without being overwhelming, and every detail of the room communicates that this is a place that genuinely cares about the experience it creates for its guests. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu -- not in a rehearsed, corporate way but in the way that only happens when staff actually love where they work and believe in what they're serving. Questions were answered with confidence and warmth, dietary considerations were handled graciously and without any fuss, and the pacing of the meal felt exactly right. Not rushed, not forgotten -- just perfectly timed. It is the kind of service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table to turn over. Now the food -- where do we even begin. We started with the Shrimp Balls and they were an immediate knockout. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented and gone far too quickly. The arugula dip alongside them was bright and fresh -- a genuinely clever pairing that elevated what could have been a simple appetizer into something memorable. This dish alone would be worth coming back for. For mains we ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto -- elevated with a grilled shrimp skewer addition that turned an already outstanding dish into a complete and deeply satisfying meal. The risotto was everything a great risotto should be -- creamy without being heavy, deeply savory with layers of earthy mushroom flavor, finished beautifully with truffled pecorino that added just the right amount of richness. The shrimp skewer on top was perfectly grilled, plump and fresh -- a brilliant pairing with the earthiness of the mushrooms. Our dining companion ordered the Boneless Beef Short Ribs which arrived tender, deeply flavorful and beautifully plated -- the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. What makes Rosanna's truly special is that everything works together -- the room, the service, the food and the overall feeling of being genuinely well taken care of. This is not a restaurant that relies on one strong element to carry the others. Every component earns its place. Whether you are celebrating something special, treating someone you love or simply in search of a great dinner in wonderful company -- Rosanna's delivers on every level. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You will not regret it. And the pellegrino soda was great I got the blood orange! And we took the olive oil orange cake to go yum!

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

We went to Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse last weekend with a party of 10. Our group meets up once a month and tries a new place each time. I had been here once before over the summer and had a great experience then. That time we were seated in one of the alcove style rooms. It is not fully private but it definitely feels like your own space, and it added a lot to the atmosphere. The food and service were excellent on that visit, and the birthday person in our group loved the theming of the room. This time we were supposed to be seated in the Sinatra room. After our reservation time passed, the hostess came over and explained they had made a mistake with the room booking and it was not available. They moved us to a large table in the main dining area and offered us four appetizers on the house to make up for it. That immediately smoothed things over, and no one in our group had any issues after that. Mistakes happen, it is how a place handles them that matters, and they handled this very well. The main dining area has a nice ambience, but it is a bit noisy compared to the alcove spaces. Food wise, we had a wide range, steaks, chicken, veal, and some gluten free options. Most of the group had alcoholic drinks, while a few of us stuck with soda and water. One friend said the cola he got at the bar while we waited was flat and he skipped it after that. I tried a soda at the table and mine was fine. He later had a lemon lime soda, not sure if it was 7Up or Starry, and had no complaints, so it is possible they changed out the CO2 in between. Service really stood out. It is not easy to manage a table of 10, but our waitress was outstanding and very friendly. We were served in a timely manner, and several people commented on both the portion sizes and the quality of the meals. A few in our group even said they felt the pricing was a bargain for what you get. Overall, we will definitely be back. Scheduling errors and things out of the staff's control happen anywhere, but many places either do not apologize or do nothing to fix it. Here, they did both, and their solution was more than generous. Kudos to them. 4 stars.

Parking lot was packed but most people that were waiting had ordered Take out. We were seated right away which was great. This by far was one of the worst meals we have had at Ralph's though the turkey sandwich looked good, tasted good, and was loaded with Gravy. The pasta was disgusting overcooked with watery and sweet sauce. Though what made it so bad was all the oregano in sauce which overpowered the dish. Tied for worst dish of the night was the potato skins. Skins were small, cold with very little bacon bits. And like pasta the same heavy headed chief put tons of Cheese Whiz on skins. I don't care for cheese whiz and in all the years I have ordered skins this is a first that cheese whiz was used rather than shredded cheddar cheese. The cheese spread was globby, overpowering definitely not good. To add insult to injury the skins were not cheap and sour cream which normal comes with skins was extra. At the end of the day skins were more than the Turkey sandwich. Should have stuck with family favorites as the skins and pasta were not it. While we were seated right away we had to wait awhile for server to take our order and for food. Think they must have been understaffed as server was running like crazy but did not see her until end of meal. Please note with mobility challenges it is tough getting in and out of restaurant and there are no handicapped restrooms. Also cash is king here. They do take credit cards but you pay a hefty fee to use card. ATM is available in vestibule but with ATM fees probably a card is best
