Still a great spot. We stop in this area annually for an eye exam and new glasses if needed at the nearby Warby Parker and spotted this place before. This was now our second time eating here, this time with a teenager in tow. The atmosphere is one of a somewhat upscale, modern restaurant, with different seating areas. They had two large, communal tables and we had one end of one of those, shared with another group at the other end. It worked well enough and saved us waiting for a table since we didn't have a reservation. The service was very good, especially for how busy they were, friendly and courteous as well. The food was great. I've not been disappointed in a dish from here yet. I had the Carciofo, the teen had the Milanese, and my spouse had the chicken parm. All dishes were excellent.

We visited Albany NY for the first time to support a family member during a competition. We read good reviews online and decided to give them a try. We made reservations, which was mandatory. We arrived expecting it to be super crowded, being that we could not get our initial time requested of 6:00pm we arrived and the ambiance was great. We were seated within 2 minutes. Our waiter took longer than expected to great us and take our order. He was apologetic, very friendly, and quite handsome if I may add. We placed our orders and enjoyed the atmosphere while we waited. Our salads were brought out. My caesar salad was not aa fresh, however it was edible. We had higher expectations for our main Italian dishes, based on the previous reviews we read.

I was looking for a spot to have an espresso martini and a small bite after seeing a movie. I drive past J & A on the way home. I knew it'd be busy but figured I'd stop in. The wait was an hour and a half ( this was on a Saturday night) the host was very kind and said we could check for seats at the bar. Lucky for my mom and I two had just opened up. The bartender was very fast in acknowledging us and giving us menus. We ordered two espresso martinis, one with Bailey's one without. My mom ordered the J & A burger and I ordered the burrata salad. The burrata salad was absolutely perfect for what I was looking for. Light and a good portion. My mom was happy with her burger. I had one bite and it was a very salty bite. I might have gotten mostly the crust of the burger. Overall, very happy with my experience at this restaurant and would love to go back.

We had a wonderful girls night out here. The food was good if not remarkable. It was a very tight space on a packed night. The service was the best part of the night. Our waiter made sure to take care of us and was helpful without being intrusive. When one of my friends spilled her wine he helped her clean up and replaced the wine. I had the lunch portion of pasta bolognese. It was just enough. Ground beef and pork mixed with a well balanced sauce. One of my friends had fig and prosciutto pizza. I tried a slice and it was very sweet with lots of creamy cheese flavor and a lot of arugula on top. My other companions had full portions of pasta dishes and seemed to enjoy them. We shared Arancini as an appetizer. That was my favorite bite of the night! As the waiter said they were addictive with smoked mozzarella and a good marinara to dip them in. We were served average Italian bread with olive oil pesto dip to start. The cocktail specials were very impressive . I ordered a seasonal maple bourbon drink. It was nicely bitter with touches of warm sweetness from the maple and orange slice. A nice festive experience. One of the owners/managers came over to see if we were enjoying ourselves. They aren't reinventing the wheel here but the food we had was tasty. It's not inexpensive but we had a good time.

Second visit in a span of years. I've never been that impressed with food or prices, but the staff is pleasant and the location very convenient. I had the 1/2 chicken parm special, which was a good price and nicely done. We also shared the roasted Brussels sprouts which were good but not unique.

We came out to Albany for a late lunch to celebrate a special birthday before a show. We ordered espresso martinis, one plain and the other with Baileys. Both were delicious so we had seconds. The family style calamari came with peppers (a little spicy) yummy! We also ordered bruschetta which was good but not memorable. Everyone loved their meals...especially me. The Sunday Dinner meal was marinara (without the cream for me) over penne with meatballs, sausage, and pork which I never had before but LOVED it! The meatballs were very, very bready, the only down side. I'm glad they were small because I don't think I could've eaten a big bready one. The cake was amazing and a nice big slice! Not sure if it was complimentary for her birthday. Our server was fantastic and we enjoyed eating outside. Although a bit chilly, totally worth it!

Food was good but service left a lot to be desired. Restaurant is easy to find, plenty of parking, no steps or stairs to get in. Gender-specific restrooms are located near the hostess station. Staff were friendly and with a few tweaks this review could be a 4 or 5 star. We were seated right away - it was a Tuesday, so reservations not needed - but it took awhile for Jordan to come over. Several servers looked at us but no one knew whose table we were. Jordan was friendly but we did not see her very often. Also, we were seated directly next to another group of diners when there were four open tables in a row. And, the next couple to come in were seated at the table next to us. When it's not busy, a little space in between diners would be nice. I could easily hear everyone's conversations and it was not ideal to have the adjacent table's server's butt next to our food while she was talking to them. The hostess also looked at our table to seat the next couple that came in. There were plenty of other open tables, smh. The bread and pesto were delicious. The bread was warm and crusty and went so well with the pesto. Hubby and I shared an arugula salad and had to ask for serving spoons to dish it up onto the sharing plates. The dressing was light and flavorful with a good amount of goat cheese but a few more beets would have been nice. Hubby's tortellini carbonara with grilled chicken was very good but the tortellini was a bit overcooked. My salmon was cooked perfectly and was steaming hot, but the brussel sprouts and butternut squash risotto accompanying the salmon were room temperature, not even hot. There was also too much glaze on the salmon for me. A drizzle would have been enough, but the salmon was drenched. Jordan did check in on us but we are not ones to send food back. We did run out of water during dinner and there was no one to ask for more water. Jordan eventually came back to clear plates and ask about dessert. They have 3 desserts made by the chef at the other location but none sounded like we really had to have them (cheesecake, cannoli cake, and a hazelnut chocolate cake) plus we needed to get back on the road - we spent way more time here than we anticipated. Again, the food was good, and with some adjustments by mgmt, this place could be really good.

We have been to Jacob and Anthony's many times and have consistently had great food and great service. The atmosphere is casual upscale with a nice bar inside. The extended outside area is a nice touch. The pasta sauce and some of their special noodles I would presume are homemade are great. Haven't had much else here besides Italian but would presume everything else is just as good. Good size portions for the price. The Manager Michael is extremely friendly and really pulls the entire experience together. I highly recommend coming here.

Tortellini with creamy pesto and chicken...great combination.

Dropped by for dinner on a weeknight. There was a bug event in their back room so the wait was 30 minutes. However the bar was open so we just skipped the line and sat there. Interior is nice and modern. Bartender was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my pasta dish. The pesto was creamy and delicious and paired really well with the chicken and tortellini. Would definitely come back again.

Menu had a nice selection, something for everyone, got the Carcifo, lemon and capers paired perfect with the chicken, artichoke and risotto.

I was promised that Grappa 72 would exceed my expectations. As an Italian-American AND a foodie, it's hard to wow me at an Italian venue. I can honestly say that this place was all that I was promised and more. What we ordered to share: crispy arancini (special app that day), eggplant parm, fried calamari. I am a red sauce snob, and all three of these delivered on presentation, quality, and overall flavor. Entrees we ordered included: halibut (entree special and my choice), pappardelle loaded with shrimp and chicken (also a special), pork osso bucco (stole the show!). We ended with individual desserts, and their Italian cheesecake was smooth and creamy. Service was reflective of high-end dining, yet the check for six people was moderate to affordable. Considering the quality, quantity, and overall experience, this is a place I need to get back to. Now I need to find an excuse to be in the Capitol Region so I can go back!

She had lots of recommendations for what drinks and dishes to order, and she was really attentive towards our party. When we sat at our table, we helped ourselves to the fresh table bread and tapenade while we decided what to order. I decided to get the seafood special, which was a grilled branzino served with blistered green beans and wild rice. While the dish tasted a bit too oily for my liking, there was LOTS of food that came with this dish - enough for me to pack as a lunch the next day! What was also memorable about this experience was the live music playing at front. This is a very nice Italian resto for special occasions and date nights.

I was able to book a reservation online for the same day. Of note, when you have the option of Main Floor or First Floor & Bar, just realize the Main Floor is up a flight of stairs. I'm not sure if there is a separate entrance but my wife was on crutches and she managed to get up the first three into the restaurant from outside but I don't think dining on the main floor would have been an option for us. Our server, Mike, was awesome and full of energy and enthusiasm. He offered suggestions and answered questions about details of the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised with how many menu items were marked v - vegan and v* - can be prepared vegan. This is great for us because it's another place in Albany that we will be able to go out to dinner with friends and everyone will be able.to find something to enjoy. The fried Artichokes are a must if you're looking for a starter. We were eyeing up the Fennel salad or vegan Caesar salad but opted to move on to main entrees. On this night they were out of the Gnocchi Cacio-Pepe which personally, I am not a gnocchi fan to start and Mike told us they were substituting a buccatini pasta instead... this had my attention! I went for his suggestion and chose the Arrabbiata instead which was delicious. My wife enjoyed her Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. We skipped dessert for this evening but there were vegan Gelato and cookie options for dessert as well. From start to finish it was such an enjoyable experience in this cozy corner restaurant which offers outdoor dining in the summer in the heart of Albany. We will totally be back with friends for another delicious meal at Rosanna's, the hidden gem in downtown Albany!

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

We have stayed in Albany at the same hotel for several years and have gotten familiar with some of the restaurants in the immediate area. We ventured a couple miles away from our hotel on Wolf Road to try Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse this year. We had a reservation for8 and were seated promptly. The decor was a bit dated, but nothing to complain about. The service was good and everyone but myself got Italian pasta dishes and all said the same thing "it was ok". Seeing as the name of the place is a cut of steak, I decided to go with the Delmonico signature steak, cooked medium rare. The cut of steak I received would embarrass me if I tried serving it to a friend. The amount of edible meat was no larger than a credit card, the rest fat and grizzle. It was tough to tell if the cook temp was as requested because there wasn't enough edible to tell. When our waitress came to see if we needed to-go boxes, she knew enough not to bother with me, as there was just a plate of junk left. Luckily, without me even asking, she took my steak off the bill, which was really nice because I wasn't going to make a big stink and complain. She just knew the steak was not up to par. It's tuff to criticize this restaurant because all the other guests were satisfied, but not wowed, however, ordering the signature dish and having it be absolutely disappointing is unforgivable.

We were seated in the back of the main room which was cold (the A/C was cranking due to the heatwave outside), loud (from people, not music). The side room was lit more invitingly and I think I would want to be there. I heard Frank Sinatra on the radio when we walked in, but within 30 minutes the place was packed and it turned into a raucous environment. We started off with garden salads with their homemade tomato basil dressing. It sounded fantastic but I quickly discovered it was loaded... absolutely loaded... with red onions. My wife bravely ate hers and the pile of onions kept growing on the side of her plate. I couldn't eat mine because of them so they took it away. They offered to remake it sans onions but I decided to hold out for my entree. My wife thought it was overdressed, but for a chopped salad such as it was I think it was fine. My veal Marsala was excellent. Every restaurant does theirs differently and here it wasn't too sweet or too garlicky. The bread on the table was crustier than an old pirate which made it difficult to eat with the table oil dip provided. However, it was perfect for sopping up the veal's sauce. My wife had Chicken Sorrento and the portion was absolutely humungous with a slick cheese shield on the top. She felt bad that my portion of veal was much smaller in comparison, but I had the last laugh as I thought her dish was just average. It all came down to the red sauce: every place tastes different and here it tasted a bit more like stewed tomatoes. (FYI: no place makes it as good as my grandmother). I am glad I ordered a non-red sauce dish, though my side of penne with only light sauce (per my request) was decent. Their dessert menu was nice but uninspiring. That's okay, as we were mostly full. Prices were fair for a white table cloth Italian restaurant, though not inexpensive. That being said, I much prefer the place in Loudonville which has more interesting entrees and comparable prices.
