Grandma, cheese, & mushroom slices and garlic knots
    Cecilia T.

A friend of mine who loves this place recommended them to me about 7 yrs ago. They have a good selection of specialty pizza, calzones and rolls as well as heros, salads and pastas. Everything I've tried here in the past years have been good, if not, decent. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Same price- cash or credit. Although it isn't my favorite pizza spot bc I've definitely had better elsewhere, it is a great choice if you're in the area & craving Italian food. I like their grandma pizza, rice ball and spaghetti but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their pizza :p

Incredible food and service. First time there and we absolutely loved it! The staff was so helpful and attentive. The margarita pizza sauce was perfectly sweet and delicious, and everything was great quality.

I've visited da-Angelo pizza several times and they serve decent pizza at a reasonable price. They have a small selection speciality slices and rolls that are heated to perfection in just a couple of minutes. The restaurant is small but well-kept and inviting. The decor is a mixture of a classic Italian pizzeria fused with wood paneling making it feel like you are also in a cabin in the woods. They have a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a somewhat spacious dining floor. I would not come here with a big party since they only have one large table in the back. The staff is very kind and makes it feel like you are part of their family while you are there. They are quick to take your order but still take their time to talk to you and make friendly conversation. They have a small parking lot but I am assuming that it gets busy during the weekends so you may have to park on the street. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is solely because of their pizza taste and quality. Although it is good, I have had better slices in the area and have also had many more options to choose from in local restaurants. I have heard that the dining menu is very good here so I may come back for that, which can possibly change my rating. -------- PLEASE READ: I am starting a new Pizza Review Series in which I will be rating slices from over 30 different pizzerias in my local area in Nassau County, Long Island. I will use a regular cheese slice as a baseline and a specialty slice as added depth to the review. These rating are solely based on my opinion and taste preference so please do not be offended if one of my ratings does not align with your opinion on the pizza. I am excited to have da-Angelo as my first review in this series! #1 da-Angelo Pizzeria Cheese slice: a solid slice with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. Sauce could have had more seasoning. Crust was thin and crispy but a little dry. Not too greasy and minimal oil drip. Overall, I would rate this slice an 8/10. Specialty slice: For my specialty slice, I ordered a white slice. This was a full cheese slice with no sauce but in my opinion, there was too much ricotta and not enough mozzarella. The ricotta was overpowering and it felt like there was too much mush on the slice. There was also no hint of garlic, which would have gone perfect on this pizza. The crust was a little thicker and softer compared to the cheese slice. Again, not too greasy and minimal oil drip. I would rate this slice a 6/10. For more ratings please see my Pizza Ratings Collection on my profile.

We were in the area. This came up with the best reviews and they're not wrong. The pizza was good as was the service, and the place itself is nice inside. Not the best pizza I've had but I think we NYers are loyal to our local places, but it was some solid pizza. If I was ever around that area again I'd def stop by again.

Margarita pizza possibly the best I've ever had!!

It's been a few months since I've been out here. They did a beautiful interior remodel including the bathrooms. Whenever I'm near this part of Long Island I try to stop by. Without a doubt they have the best margarita pizza anywhere! Everyone is friendly, the place is very clean and they have great food. They are set up to deal with COVID-19 and have the interior of the restaurant spaced accordingly with dividers that can be moved. I have been coming here from Brooklyn for about 2 years and would highly recommend them.

We only waited about 5 minutes on a Friday night... surprisingly quick! You can't go to a clam bar without ordering clams!!! Raw Clams: Fresh, large, and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. Can't go wrong! Baked Clams: A must order! The breading was flavorful, and had the perfect crispy crunch. Mussels in White Wine Sauce: Generous portion with fresh mussels. The white wine sauce was rich, buttery, and perfect for dipping bread. Seafood Salad: My favorite was the calamari. It was perfectly tender with a bouncy texture, not rubbery/chewy. It also came with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and large crunchy croutons. Vincent's Classic Combination: We chose the fried calamari and fried shrimp. The breading was light, crispy, and not oily. The sauce leaned on the sweeter side, even though we requested it spicy. My only complaint is that I wish it came with more linguine. Napoleon: Light, flaky, and not overly sweet. A great way to end the meal. Overall, fresh seafood in generous portions with classic Italian flavors. If you're looking for a solid seafood spot, this one is definitely worth a visit! Highly recommend!

It was meat ravioli, and they were very small and petite. The broth was piping hot and lacked a little flavor. I added pepper and grated cheese, which helped it a lot. The waiter recommended their zingarra chicken. And my partner had ravioli which is their specialty my partner is a ravioli aficionado and she didn't take the leftovers home which really told me something. The chicken I had was delightful hot tasty delicious and no real complaints here. I ordered a soda. It was four dollars and no free refills, quite disappointing All in all the food was at four but then I got the bill for a broth soup two entrées and a soda it was $105. Clearly this is why people can't go out for dinner anymore $105 for 10 raviolis and a chicken breast wow I thought food cost had to be 1/3 of the price $34 for a chicken cutlet that chicken cutlet wasn't $10. This is why the restaurant got a Three. I would come back, but I just can't afford this restaurant

All the food was delicious, from the complimentary bread to their homemade Ravioli. We ordered the Clams Oreganata, Pan Fried Calamari, Pollo Zingarella which comes with a choice of Pasta or Broccoli, Lobster Ravioli, Meat Ravioli, and Duck Ravioli. The manager mentioned that the Pollo Zingarella and the Duck Ravioli were their best dishes. I definitely agree with the Pollo Zingarella, especially when you drench it with the sauce since it elicits a very creamy and rich mushroom and chicken flavor. However, I really enjoyed the Lobster Ravioli since it had a unique sweet and seafood flavor which stood out from the rest. The Duck Ravioli had a subtle gaminess and paired well with the Alfredo sauce. The Meat Ravioli and Fried Calamari both tasted basic but still great. My only gripe is that it's incredibly hard to hear in the restaurant and literally all the servers were annoyed that we were asking them to repeat what they said, which I feel they should be more understanding being in the restaurant and service business. Also, never did I feel so pressured in ordering drinks and dessert from a restaurant before. Hopefully this doesn't deter you from trying their food.

I had to change plans quickly as I looked at the specials they had going on that day wow! We decided to go with the duck and the monkfish main course entrees instead. Life is about making the right choices and this was the best decision I made that day lol! The duck was cooked to perfection soft on the inside crispy on the outside wow! I really like how juicy and fatty the duck was very succulent and delicious yummy. I especially liked the wine sauce on top among taste sweet with a slight tart to it juts the right balance I was impressed. Definitely one of the best duck dishes I've ever had it's a special so I'm not sure if it will be available when you decide to go call ahead would be my suggestion and your best bet. Laslty the side with butter squash was also a delight to eat and treat! Second course was the monkfish which was great as well. It had a slightly Smokey flavor to my pallet and a slight crunch on the outside maybe it was torched or seared not sure. Whatever the case it was a great touch to the dish very tasty and juicy as well. I love the sauce and the sides were great mashed potatoes with broccoli yummy! I highly recommend this place for brunch, lunch, or dinner take your pick. They will not disappoint you at all that's for sure. I'm not sure how this place is in the evening as I've only gone during the day. I hope the chef gets to read this and know his work is appreciated and noticed! The staff and waiters are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the entrees and food in general. Great service and energy I will come again and repeat whenever possible. I liken the music they play in the background it's not too loud and always sets a great tone for the place. The windows bring in great light and the decor is tasteful and elegant gives a bistro vibe to me personally. You might think differently let us know anyway. For starters, two kind of salads came out. The first one was a Caesar and the second one I had spring leaves feta cheese avocado and addressing already on it. I prefer the second one. They both were good however. The table was also presented with a serving of Calamari Fritté. I did not taste it. I don't know what they put on that rolls, but they came out warm with like a sweet glaze on the top. I'm assuming some kind of maple butter. I had three of those. Don't tell anyone Also as an appetizer was Tomato Bruschetto with pistachio pesto. I also have way too much of that. It was delicious and fresh. One main ain course was Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. I don't eat shrimp so I can't tell you how that was. The other was Rigatoni alla Vodka which was very rich and good. Sauce tasted homemade and not out of the bottle like some places. I also grabbed another piece of bread with that. But again we won't talk about that. We have two proteins. One was Chicken Francese. It was very tender. A light crisp on the outside in a nice flavorful sauce. The other protein was Grilled Salmon in a butter herb sauce. I only had a few bites of salmon. I rarely eat salmon out because I don't know how it's sourced. The flavor was fine however. For dessert, they had fruit and a couple of cakes. One cake served was Gigi's Butter Cake. I think they put some crack in it because it is addictive. Very rich, buttery and served warm! I ate one there and took one home. Shhhhhhhh The other cake was New York style cheesecake. I can't tell you how that tasted because I also took that slice home. I have more cake than I can eat at the moment. If you want some let me know

I thought I was losing my mind until I checked my text messages and saw they sent a confirmation text asking me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel. I pressed 1 and somehow the system canceled my reservation. I honestly think it's crazy for a restaurant to automatically cancel a reservation because someone doesn't respond to a text right away. I was sleeping and didn't even see it until about an hour and a half later. Huge turn off. I called and thankfully they added me back, but it definitely started the experience off wrong. Once we arrived, we checked in and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender took about 25 minutes just to acknowledge me and take my drink order, which was disappointing. When we finally got seated, I realized they were only offering a prix-fixe family-style menu for Mother's Day. I understand limited menus on holidays, but I think each guest should still have the option to choose their own entrée because not everyone likes the same foods. I asked if we could add an extra appetizer, and our waitress who was very nice checked with the manager and they accommodated us. The issue was they didn't bring the extra appetizer out until after the entrées came. At that point it made no sense, and when I asked if they could remove it from the bill, they wouldn't accommodate that. Now for the food: Chicken Parmesan: slightly burnt and lacked flavor Beef medallions: needed salt and seasoning Lasagna: way too much ricotta cheese Shrimp scampi: honestly tasted like a 3-year-old made it -- just noodles and barely seasoned shrimp with almost no butter sauce Not everything was bad though: The bread was amazing Calamari was decent Meatballs were really good Cheesecake was amazing Sangria was very good and definitely gave me a little buzz The table service outside of the bar was actually great, and the portion sizes were generous. Ambiance was ok, bar just looked messy. They probably should have more than one bartender at a busy restaurant like this. Especially on Mother's Day. Overall, I probably wouldn't return unless I specifically wanted the meatballs and sangria.

We began our dining experience munching on a scrumptious basket of garlic bread. I've found, over my many years of dining, that restaurants that serve a great bread basket always follow it up with great food, and this was Mauro. After reviewing a litany of appetizer items, we chose absolutely delicious artichokes oreganata. We followed the appetizer with an order of luscious eggplant parmigiana along with perfectly cooked al dente rigatoni. We also ordered gnocchi with a sublime pomodoro sauce. The sauce was not something typically seen, in as much it contained a nice quantity of onions. For dessert we had a debate between chocolate cake or a cannoli, keeping in mind that the restaurant is owned by a great bakery. Our waitress, Samantha (Sam) who was outstanding throughout, said it's a tossup. We finally agreed on the chocolate cake. When the dessert arrived, to our delight, there was an order of light and very tasty chocolate cake, and a creamy & crispy freshly filled cannoli, compliments of Samantha. In summary, we had an excellent meal coupled with outstanding service what more can you ask for in a restaurant? If possible, I recommend weekday dining. Still enjoyable, I finished it. The sausage and peppers, AMAZINGLY delicious! Just enough sauce to keep it moist. Also not a very heavy slice yet really tasty. I found that it had just enough gravy, sausage, and peppers. This place is very upscale but casual dining is acceptable. I'm very glad I found this pizza place that offers dining in family style or take out. Inspire more, Yelp more!
