Marjan, the owner, really cares about the food, the staff and her patrons. Da Bianca has many regulars from Orange Park Acres, Chapman Hills and Cowan Heights. They have many options for very good meals, and Da Bianca is a place where they eat weekly. Make reservations. Expect to see and perhaps talk with interesting people in an intimate atmosphere. If I am in the mood for something with a little spice/bite, I order the Linguini ai Frutti Di Mare. If I'm in the mood for something without the bite, I'll order the Spaghetti Carbonara. Da Bianca is my favorite place for Carbonara My wife often orders the Orecchiette con Gamberi. She really likes the shrimp with the spicy garlic olive oil. We went to Da Bianca for the first time three weeks ago. We have been back on three different occasions. Each time a fantastic meal and great service. On our last visit I also ordered a lasagna to go for my 90 year old father. He loved it. My father asked me if I could bring him more of the Da Bianca lasagna. Per doctors orders he has to eat around 5:00 PM. I called on 7-20 to ask if I could place an order to go for 7-21. I would pick it up at 5:00. I was told I would have to call on 7-21 at 4:30 when they opened. It would take approximately 20-30 minutes. So far so good. I called at exactly 4:30 on 7-21 to place the order. The same person I spoke to the day before answered the phone. He took my order then said it wouldn't be ready until 5:45. What? Yesterday he said 20-30 minutes. I asked him why the long wait? He said they received quite of few to go orders to go. How could that be? I called at exactly 4:30. He had no explanation. You earned my business after my first visit. You lost it with very poor customer service and a very disappointed 90 year old. read more

Was excited to see it on DoorDash for order... but was let down when our order sat in the que for a half hour until our pick up driver arrived and they decided they were too busy to make the order. I have had the pleasure of enjoying the fabulous appetizers, meals and desserts for over 35 years (Since 1990 in East Orange, and before that, they had a much smaller location in Irvine before the Santiago Hills location was born). The food, ambience and service is always and consistently impeccable. The staff works very hard to make sure all their guests are well taken care of. I would, however, suggest that you make reservations for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights! My friend and I came here for lunch and we loved our food so much!! There is a huge selection of pasta, ravioli, lasagna and more. We couldn't decide so we had our server pick for us and she recommended the Farfalle Veneziana and the Ravioli Della Casa and we were so happy we went with her suggestions. The Farfalle Veneziana (13.95) is basically a bow tie pasta dish with heaps of Italian sausage, mushrooms and peas in a creamy pink sauce. It was SO delicious! The pink sauce had a great flavor to it and it had a bit of spicy kick to it. The bow tie pasta really absorbed the sauce nicely and the giant sausages gave the dish an extra dimension of flavor. It's a giant dish and we finished every single bite! The Ravioli Della Casa (16.50) was also excellent. It's homemade ravioli and you can choose the filling (ricotta cheese, chicken, or mushroom) and the sauce (pink, marinara, or butter/oil). We went with the mushroom filling and marinara sauce and it was perfect. There was a generous amount of ravioli and it was so soft and juicy. Usually I get sick of ravioli after a couple pieces but that didn't happen with this dish at all! Every entrée here comes with a choice of mixed green salad or Caesar salad. I got the Caesar while my friend got the mixed greens and the salads were so fresh. We were also served some delicious cheesy garlic bread for appetizers and it was so warm and crispy and soft all at the same time! For the amount of food you get with your dish and the quality of the food itself, I think this restaurant has the best prices. The service was kind of slow but our waitress was super duper friendly and we weren't in any rush so that wasn't a problem. Plus the food came out quickly so that was great! We came on a Friday night, typically people make reservations and I heard that sometimes they are fully booked, we had reservations so we were seated quickly and it was a full house. For this restaurant since it's a local favorite I would suggest calling ahead of time since it gets really busy. The food was Delicious, the service was also great they kept bringing bread which I love bread and attentive service. The owner walked around and asked how everything was, if she's around for the weekends it makes me know that she cares for her patrons which is a major plus. read more

This was a good experience. The waitstaff was really attentive and helpful. I have an allergy that they were super helpful and accommodating about in the dish I ordered. Veal is on the menu - albeit at an price I am used to at 4 star restaurants ($30+). They cooked the veal perfectly. A+ (They were not able to make Veal Saltimbocca because they don't have prosciutto. It seemed surprising - I seldom cook Italian, but have Prosciutto de Parma in my fridge (Costco). Da Bianca Trattoria was a total disappointment before, during, and after my dining experience. Several weeks before I ate here, I tried to bring a friend on a weeknight for an early walk-in dinner. Even though the restaurant was almost completely empty, they told us they wouldn't seat us without a reservation... Several weeks later, that same friend and I came back for dinner with a reservation. While the service wasn't awful, it was painfully slow throughout the meal. As for the food, I'll sum it up to say I've had way better Italian cuisine at below-average chain restaurants like Olive Garden... So why am I giving this place only one star? Given the sub-par food and mediocre service, I wouldn't expect to pay anywhere near what these guys are charging! Our dinner for two was approx $225 including tip and one cocktail each. I've eaten at numerous outstanding Italian restaurants both in California and Italy, and for that price I'd expect a dining experience to remember, not overpriced fast food in an out-of-the-way strip mall, served with a large helping of self-important arrogance. This restaurant is okay to fill up your stomach with carbs, but nothing more than that. Seating is tight and a too small dining room is noisy. Service is better than Pizza Hut. Wine selection is poor, and food quality is on the average of Orange County, which is far below the average of this country. This place has amazing Italian food. It is family ran by the daughter of the woman who opened it but passed away a few years ago and it shows they take pride in their restaurant. The food is so good and they have a large variety of pastas, seafood, specials, salads, desserts,& wine. Literally anything you order will be good, which is always nice to have options! Hey also give you garlic cheese bread before your meal comes and it is so good. I recommend the bruschetta and the lasagna. Their specials are always great as well!! Only down side is I'm not sure they store their wine very well. We ordered several bottles and had to send 3 back because they were bad and the owner even admitted they were not good. We went again last night after the sad passing of Bianca last fall. Her daughter has given the restaurant a face lift without losing the wonderful quaintness! It looks amazing and better yet, the food is what it is all about! Still the amazingly wonderful, flavorful, hot food we have come to expect. Wednesday is no corkage fee, and daily lunch is adding great value to this gem at the corner of Chapman and Newport! This was a hard to find place. To make it more difficult, a real estate company was hosting a kid's Halloween party and blocked off Chapman St. entrance. Anyway, we got in the restaurant around 8 PM on Saturday night. There was no wait, This was a quaint little place without much in decor. They took our drink orders quickly. They brought out the yummy toasted but soft french bread before we got our drinks. To add some taste, we asked for balsamic vinegar and olive oil to dip the bread. I could've just eaten that dipped bread with my glass of red wine and gone home happy. One glitch was the house chianti was served too warm. It should be at room temperature, not at kitchen room temperature. A little ice made it better. Surprisingly, the dining room temperature was probably in the 60s. and they should place the red wines there. I ordered the spaghetti with sausage ($15) and my friend ordered the gnocci for the same price. It took 20 minutes to get to our table. My friend also ordered the Mista salad for $5.50, with pesto salad dressing that arrived immediately. Overall, the salad was good though I am not a fan of Pesto dressing. It was made better by mixing in equal parts of the sweet balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I really liked the spaghetti sauce which had fresh tomatoes, a hint of garlic, and a slight sweet taste. The gnocci was very good as well which was definitely freshly made. There was a very good natural bell pepper taste to it. The menu was more extensive than i expected with lots of different pasta dishes. Tonight the ravioli choices were cheese or crab meat. The specials board was interesting. I don't like lamb, but they had a lamb shank special, They also had several types of fish prepared in a light white pasta, and pork chops in a tomato sauce. Service was very good as well. They were attentive, including the owner of the place. I definitely want to come back again to try the other entrees. Overall a definitely strong four star experience. read more

In other words, a birthday, a wedding, grad school, new job and a baptism were the reasons for a dinner gathering of friends, not to forget, just because - at Da Bianca Trattoria in Orange last night. Starting with the service - awesome. With all the focus on quality time with friends, I didn't ask their names as we had a few of their staff helping our large party. Very warm and friendly. Very informative and patient. In general - awesome! Food - ranged from good to great! We all shared - not family style, but we requested plates so that we could share our dish with the table and I don't remember the names of the dishes but I know that there wasn't a dish I didn't like. A few, I added red peppers and grated cheese for my taste however, there wasn't a dish that I wouldn't order again. There were 11 in our party so we able to try that many different dishes. It wasn't a problem bringing in our own dessert - it was someone's birthday! They even cut and served it for the table. Again, great service. We found this hidden gem a couple years ago when we were looking for new places to try. We usually go on special occasions, so this year we went for the hub's birthday. The restaurant is small and intimate. I love that this place is so family-oriented. During the school break, you can find the owners young sons working the kitchen, or sometimes they will all be eating as a family at the restaurant. It's very nice to see. Anyway, the food has always been amazing. I love the specials and the hubs loves the ravioli---especially the crab or lobster. The service has always been impeccable. This review is based on service. We came in for dinner with a reservation. We made a 5:45 PM reservation because we like to avoid crowds. We arrived at the restaurant and it was mostly empty. We were going to be seated at a table right near the front door in the middle of everything. We were trying to have a quiet family dinner and asked for a table on the other side of the restaurant (this place is pretty small). I figured that it wouldn't be a problem since the place was mostly empty and we were there early. Well how wrong I was?!? I got no explanation, just a no with an evil eye and serious attitude. Wow!! We decided to pass on having dinner and leave. The table wasn't the issue here really, it was the attitude. Had we received a nice explanation that made sense, we would have tried to make it work. I think the owner needs to send herself to a customer service class. Our average dinner bill on Sunday night gets up there as we always order appetizers, dinner, dessert and a bottle of great wine. Needless to say, we certainly will not be doing it there. Funny how a little non-descript restaurant in a strip mall has some pretty big attitude. If you want warmth, you might try somewhere else. In defense of Vicki, she is usually very polite. She left our home 30 minutes before pick up and it takes at least 15 minutes to get Da Bianca. The food she picked up on Mother's Day was not good and this was the second chance for your restaurant. We ordered in December 2018 for a large group and the food was uneatable. It went in to the trash-the same as Mother's Day. Vicki and her 93 year old father had the eggs--and since I was the mother I got the ham sandwich with the salad. Shame on you for not taking responsibility for your failings and the poor quality of your take out food. But then you were very defensive the first time and and said you had reservations about taking the order--really!!!! The ham sandwich came on the remarks I made when I unsubcribed from your email. First time here had some traditional dishes Spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna. The pasta for both was cooked perfectly not overly cooked or baked. The sauce and bechemal were delicious on the lasagna and the cheese was melted and not overtly cooked or too crisp. The meatballs THE MEATBALLS! were delicious on the spaghetti big juicy and freshly made in house. Definitely ordering these dishes again and adding this place to my "home cooked" to go meals and a perfect place to have a Friday Night dinner or dinner with the parents. read more
