Ate here 8/3/25. Service is 5 star+, professional, courteous, attentive but not too attentive. Restaurant is small, with large windows. Decor is contemporary, boring, grey, white and silver. Lacks pops of color. Food is 3 stars. Bolognese was bland, with more mushrooms than meat in the sauce, lacked flavor and color. Gnocchi was perfectly cooked, sauce was flavorful. Both dishes were cold when they arrived at the table. Plating lacked finesse; it was just an uninteresting plate of food. Portions were on the small side. I've had better. Won't be back. read more

My boyfriend and I got takeout from here, he has been loads of times and this was my first time. I got the gnocchi and I am very impressed with the flavor of both the gnocchi and the marina sauce. It has that sweet tomato flavor and they used just the right amount of cheese to top it off. The garlic bread is fantastic. We went here for a private event between lunch and dinner. Food was served in a buffet line. Cheesy garlic bread, salad, penne pasta with meat, farfalle pasta with chicken and a pasta salad were on the menu. All the pastas were flavorful and very filling. The bread was delishhhhh!!!. This restaurant has a regular following and I just don't understand. Over sauced, uninspired dishes. Saw lamb Osso Buco as a special. That's always a red flag when they don't use veal shanks. Takes more time and technique to use veal. NO Italian would rather have lamb over a veal Osso Buco, it defeats the whole purpose (the marrow!). Are those frozen vegetables (like you get at Costco) they are serving as a side?! Sub par wine list served out of thick rimmed wine glasses. Ever drank a $150 dollar bottle of wine out of a jelly jar? Cheap china and flatware. Looks at the pics! Most plates are metal marred (some chipped) and its not like this place is at an entry level pricepoint. I posted a picture that is not mine, but it illustrates the point. Happy to go back and take one that will show the same if its an issue. Service was OK. We are not one of the regulars the owners fawn over so we just base our rating on the food. Certain locals love this place and feel a connection and write reviews based on that. We just rated this restaurant against others (even mid level such as Pizzeria Mozza in Newport) and found this restaurant to be lacking for anyone that has knowledge about authentic Italian food. I don't find the owners that charming. Look at the nasty responses by the owners to diners who have voiced issues . I'll probably get one too. Says a lot about this place. Wow! What an absolute gem. We went here last night and the food was absolutely spectacular. We had reservations for 5:15 and showed up at 5 - the owner was very accommodating and seated us early. For appetizers, we ordered the special salad and the clams. Both were phenomenal. The clams were so fresh and the white wine butter sauce was soooo good! I wish they would add the salad special to their main menu because it was truly amazing. For entrees, I ordered the carbonara and my partner ordered the chicken porcini special. The carbonara was delicious, creamy and rich. The chicken was super tender and also great. We will absolutely be back! read more

I came across this restaurant because a group of people have mentioned that Da Bianca has the best authentic Italian food but I got to say I've had better. We ordered four different dishes: the spaghetti and meatballs, Orecchiette Capricciose, the chicken parm and the rotini (except they gave us the rigatoni dish instead so that was disappointing). We ordered food for pickup and I got to say I was a little concerned when I came to pick up the food that they had indoor dining during these times. I understand some people may be comfortable with that but there's a reason why we shouldn't be eating indoors currently and I want to support small or local businesses that are still abiding by the current state rules. The spaghetti and meatballs was good but I would've wanted it a bit saucier. The other dishes were all sort of bland. My friends also agreed. I'm glad I tried it though just to know. read more

Somehow, although I have lived in Irvine since 1973 , I have missed this gem of an Italian restaurant on Chapman and Newport. I had good friends that took me there for dinner recently. We were sitting in the "wine garden" tonight for the first time, The food was very good, Bianca style like in the restaurant. The ambiance is a little sparse, not too much garden but some nice little flower arrangements on the table. The special menu for outside though is to be reconsidered. We've truly never had a bad meal at Da Bianca Trattoria. The food is absolutely amazing (some of our favorites are the carbonara, farfalle genovese, and calamari) but the service is what keeps us coming back again and again! Francesca is the absolute best, we always feel like we're part of the family when Francesca is our waitress! We'll continue coming back here and look forward to more delicious pasta :) read more
