During our stay on Maui we are here twice. Completely satisfied both times. Lots of variety on the menu. Great iced tea made from a floral/fruity blend. I had the Garlic Lime Chicken Fettucinni which was amazing, I'll have to play around and attempt to make it home, although I'm sure nothing will come close to what I had here. The other top mention was the Ahi Poké bowl that my husband ordered. Probably the best bite of food I had during our Maui vacay. The portions are well more than generous. Pound for pound. This place has to be my favorite spot in Maui. The burgers my youngest daughter ordered was the bomb the meat was excellent I think it was organic grass feed. My other daughter ordered the Korean chicken plate from a 1-10 it was a screaming 10. My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken melt in your mouth delicious and I ordered probably the best short ribs I have ever encountered with fly rice. Loved Da Kitchen. Great mixed plate, local foods. You could tell this place was gonna be good by the number of locals and visitors alike eating and waiting to eat here. The portion sizes are crazy big. I had the Chicken Katsu sandwich, which could feed two people or simply enjoyed for two meals. The other half had the Kalua Pork sandwich. We are here on a Friday night. We waited about 30 mins. They will text/call you when your table is ready. We ordered the fried spam musubi, the saimin bowl soup with wontons, and the notorious B.I.G. Moco. The musubi and saimin were excellent. The moco was humungous. It will probably fill up 4 hungry people. It was a little too salty to my taste. Restaurant is really close to the airport & the rental car pickup. Waited before the restaurant opened. Once it was opened it was quickly filled. The portion are massive. Heard rants and raves about this place from locals as well as in reviews of visitors. Plus, it was on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. In all honesty though I was not all that impressed. My wife ordered the Chicken Katsu and I got the Kalua Won Tons appetizer with the intention of sharing my wife's chicken order. I liked the aspect of a "friend chicken" alternative with the baked chicken katsu with panko crust, but the chicken was soggy and not very flavorful. I will say the portion of the chicken was huge, between my wife and I we could not finish it. The soggy nature of the chicken and lack of any real flavor was a bummer though. The Kalua Won Tons were also just "OK". The creme cheese that came with them was deliciously spicy and added flavor to what was an otherwise flavorless appetizer. Service was good and staff was friendly, unfortunately the food just didn't match the service. Price for portion was more than reasonable though. Perhaps there are better options on the menu than what we received and some of it looked really good. Based on our experience and what we ordered though; we were not impressed. Would be willing to give it another try if we ever had the opportunity. read more

Wow! Loco moco changed my life!!! The food was fantastic. First off, make sure you're very hungry before you come here because portion sizes are large, hearty, and they also have a special of the day board inside. First off, you have to try the fried musubi. Yeah. You'll love it if you love fried things and musubi. The sauce took it to the next level. Second, someone at your table needs to order a loco moco dish. It is just layers of deliciousness. We ordered the Polynesian paralysis moco. You have the rice, the gravy, the tempura fish, the pork, and all of that together in your mouth - FANTASTIC. We also ordered the pork belly bowl - it was good, but I wished there was a sauce that went with it. The steak was good as well. I wish we had more people to try the other dishes. I also wished we had more room to finish it. The pictures do not depict how large these plates were. Totally worth trying if you're in the area. read more

I stopped here while on vacation because I wanted to try local Hawaiian food. I got the Hawaiian Plate and my boyfriend got the Maui Rib Eye steak. Both of our plates were delicious! On top of the good food was great customer service. The servers were all friendly and helped each other out so that us customers wouldn't be waiting too long. You land in Maui & you're starving because the airlines all charge for food so you find the closest place available & lucky you it's Da Kitchen!! Always packed. Normally groups of people waiting outside. Nice menu supplemented with specials on the big chalkboard on the wall. Friendly fast service. No booze & bathrooms are in an outside hallway that you need to grab a spatula to get into. ( key attached to spatula) Flies were buzzing around inside so that was a little off putting. Kalua pork pretty good but not as good as Aloha Mixed Plate. The thing I would get here again would be the chicken katsu!!! Crispilicious!!! And when you head out to fly back to the mainland you can hit the place again & maybe have leftovers to take on the plane & make your seat mates jealous. :) read more

This was our first meal in Maui.. we headed here right after our flight. We ordered the shrimp fried rice. It was very delicious.. but was pretty oily. We also ordered the bento box, which included spam, chicken katsu, beef and rice. This was also very delicious. The servers were very friendly and the place is quite relaxed. My friend's a local so we stopped in her for a bite. We started with their Lumpia! I'm 1/2 Flip - it was okay. I wasn't too impressed with the Lumpia. However I had their Brotha Plate and that was really good. Their Mac/Potato Salad is really good. The plate had Teriyaki Chicken, Pulled Pork and Spam and all were really good. I'm a big fan of Hawaiian local food and read about this place online, particularly the fried spam musubi. We went to eat here right after we landed to start our vacation off right! We were not disappointed. Even though this place is really busy we were still able to get a table for 4 adults and 2 kids right away. The servers are all very nice young ladies. We got the fried spam musubi and lumpia as appetizers. The musubi is amazing! It's fried perfectly so it's not overwhelming. The lumpia was good too but was over shadowed by the musubi. The hubs and I decided to share the chicken katsu loco moco because the portions here are HUGE. It doesn't come with mac salad though so I had to add that on the side. Mac salad has potatoes in it with mayo base. It was creamy and firm. Just how I like it. As for the loco moco...talk about the best of both worlds if you couldn't decide between chicken katsu and loco moco lol!! Chicken was perfectly crispy, hamburger was super juicy and the rice was the bomb! They do a spam and bacon fried rice not your typical white rice. It is is skimpy on the gravy so ask for more like we did. This dish had so much flavor and is definitely big enough to share. If you aren't super hungry, you probably could share it with 4 people! We loved it so much we stopped by here for lunch on the way to airport as well. A definite MUST EAT! read more

I've traveled to Maui many times in the past 4 years and if one asked me how many times I've eaten here, it's easily 99% of the time. The food is excellent and comes in generous helpings. The servers are friendly and efficient and if there's any negatives, it would be its popularity. No one likes to wait a table but if you only have one shot to visit this place, I would wait. Their fried spam musubi is delicious regardless of what Andrew Zimmermn says.
