Great food, warm and friendly staff. It took awhile for the food to come out, but it was good food.....not fast food! :)

I was going to order birthday lunch for a group of us at work (1/7/26) as I really like Faithful Grinds. It also would've been an introductory try for two people. But, the biz didn't answer their phone. All I got was the automated "voicemail not set up" pre-recorded message. A coworker called, same thing. Another coworker chimed in and said to order online but I was apprehensive to do so if they weren't actually open. She then called and actually got through, but got yelled at and scolded, told they're busy and to order online and even hung up on her. Really? I get it that everybody is short staffed, so why not activate your voicemail with a greeting to "order online" or just answer the phone cordially and relay the message? How can you treat customers like this, let alone locals who are your bread & butter? OVERALL: If service isn't good, I can't continue to patronize or recommend a place no matter how good the food is. I welcome this second biz, to my new collection, "Bad Service".

Ordered bread pudding, smoked meat, and adobo fried rice. This hit the spot and was very close by the hotel we stayed in. The smoked meat was more like charsiu to us but it was still good. It wasn't really what we expected. The adobo fried rice was pretty good also as well as bread pudding. I do miss the cake jars. That was a good dessert but things change so I shouldn't have expected it. Like always they have a subtle but bold display of their faith and that's always refreshing.

Found this hidden gem while we were in Kahului. We always crave local food, so we stopped here for lunch. Welcomed with a smile from the nice "auntie" at the counter, (who probably sensed it was our first time there...LOL) she let us take our time to view their menu. Once you decide, just order and pay at the counter (cash or card). Plenty of space and seating inside. Their portions are huge, but most of all, their food is savory delicious! Their kalua pork was so tender and moist, and the chicken Katsu was crispy yet tender inside (the "uncle" in the back knows what he's doing y'all!). Give this place a try if you're in the area and craving some Hawaiian comfort food! CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

Yelp strikes again. We struck out at a few stops and took a chance on this local establishment: Faithful Grind. We are glad we did. Nothing fancy here just a local Maui spot. There are a few tables but this place does mad take out when busy. All I can say is the Loco Moco gravy was crazy good. One of the best I've had on island or off. The beef flavor was very intense in a good way. I've had so many bland and thin sauces. This one was rich and super good. I had it on katsu which was a winng combination. I imagine it would taste good with beef patty or a leather shoe. Just drench and go to town. Also wanted to note that the mac salad was bomb. One of the best I've had. If you are looking for super good Loco Moco, look no further. Mahalo.

Food was delicious!! We ordered katsu chicken katsu curry and loco moco. All were delicious and fresh. Place has plenty of parking. Don't be fooled by the hole in the wall look while in front of the building. Inside has nice seating and clean. The person who took our order was super nice!! Highly recommend for delicious, authentic Hawaiian food near airport. Definitely coming back next time we're in Maui! Huge portions too and great prices!!!!

Faithful grinds was a hit! Straight from the airport first bite, and they did not disappoint. Auntie at the front was awesome, friendly and welcoming. The food was onolicious! Couldn't ask for more. Favorite bites: Kalua pork was super tender and full of Maui flavor Katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside Mac salad was perfect Portuguese sausage is always a hit - especially when cooked perfectly Cucumber kimchee was even good! Just go! Now!

    Loco moco is so good!!

Oh no! I do t know what happened! I thought I posted my review here, but I guess I just posted it on Facebook to all my friends the day of! I'm so sorry Fainthful Grinds!! My husband and I took our retired pastors to Maui to renew our 40th anniversary and their 50th wedding anniversary. When we landed, I found this place on yelp. So we had breakfast here. Wow! So good. The food, the service. Not a large place, but at the time it wasn't busy and we got to sit down. After touring the big island the week before, then here on Maui we all decided that faithful grinds was our favorite place to dine. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious and made with love. So on the way back home to fly out we all decided we need to go back. Again so good not busy, until later the line was out the door. So glad we got to eat before our flight. They all feel like family to me. I even posted a photo of the two gals working the front with me. It's like we could be cousins. The place is truly a small hole in the wall with the feel of the islands. I would totally come back every time I fly down. I recently noticed that people have been complaining due to seating. Why complain? So glad they are blessed and doing so well that they are so busy. Unfortunately for us once I post this review, they'll most likely get even more people lining out the door. That what happened to our favorite sushi place in Seattle. Once I posted a review, you can barely get reservations. Blessings to you all faithful grinds. Until we meet again! Aloha

It's a little loud in here with no A/C. This place got really busy while we were there and wait times got up to 30mins so I'd say service is a little slow. The plates we ordered were ok. My daughter seemed to like the tuna melt and fries. The servings were rather large so that's a plus. The woman running the show could come across a little offensive to some, especially tourist but being a local you can see past that and know she's actually really nice. I have to try the other items on the menu. I'm curious about the adobo fried rice...

Love the scripture stickers on each container!

Food was sooo good especially for the price! Service was awesome. Sista works hard behind the counter. I would go back again! Only thing is limited seating.

Great food doesn't always have to mean expensive food, even in Maui. One of my favorite meals was at Faithful Grinds for some authentic Hawaiian food made with love. Hawaiian food is more than just plate lunches of teriyaki meats that you get back in the Mainland. The most popular dish in Hawai'i that most are already familiar with is Loco Moco that is reportedly created in Hilo. The three pattie, two egg one I had here was so ono, I went back two days later for the fried rice version of the moco and another Hawaiian plate. I do have to say I prefer the moco over white rice vs. the fried rice. Traditional Hawaiian plate usually consists of lau lau, kalua pork, Mac salad, rice, lomi lomi salmon, and poi with only the poi missing in this one. My local half Hawaiian friend I bought an extra one for his birthday said he hadn't had lau lau this good in a long time. Now that's a testament. Although squid luau is sometimes a special at Faithful Grinds, it wasn't the two days I was there. Hopefully I will catch it when I'm back later on this year.

My daughter sent me a TikTok when I was in Maui & told me I have to try Faithful Grinds. The food looked good so of course I had to go! Upon entering I couldn't help but notice all the construction guys waiting for their plates... Maaan you already know if the construction guys are here it's going to be fire! I ordered a coconut shrimp and some loaded fries. It was delicious! Flavor packed and at a good price point. I couldn't even eat it all. I wish I was more hungry or had someone to go with so we could order more and share. I also got to talk to the owner who was so sweet. It felt like family. I felt very welcomed and I could tell the customers their felt the same way. The owner seemed to be on first name basis with all of them! I would love to go back and try more next time I'm in Maui!

TIKI DAVE and family loves TIN ROOF MAUI!…read more While our cruise ship was in port, we stopped in after I did some serious research to settle upom Tin Roof and boy were we glad! Holy smokes, that Mochicko Chicken [Hawaiian-style fried chicken made by marinating bite-sized chicken pieces in a sweet and savory soy-garlic batter featuring mochiko (sweet rice flour) before deep-frying] is the bomb! Super crispy bits, amazing flavor, served over garlic noodles...man alive, if you are in Maui and don't grab takeout here, you may as well not go to Maui. It is takeout only and my wife didn't want fried food so she ordered something from the Mexican joint across the parking lot. Since she ordered food there, we figured it'd be ok to eat our heavenly chicken dishes there....NOPE; we were asked to leave. BOO. So we finished, well, the kids finished on the way to nearby Kanaha Beach Park and I finished mine there under the airport and within sight of our ship. It really is a lovely beach. Our group ordered a little bit of everything - all with garlic noodles as the side since it seemed to very popular based on the reviews. We went with the mochiko chicken (animal style), spicy ahi poke, and pork belly. Mochicko chicken was good, but some pieces were cold and fatty which wasn't very pleasant. The animal style sauce was really tasty, and didn't overpower the chicken, it complimented the plate well! The noodles weren't very garlicky at all, definitely felt it was lacking flavor. Poke was good, but the pieces of fish were in pretty large chunks. Lastly, the pork belly was just okay. As a local, I think this place is a good introduction for tourists to get a taste of local flavors. But definitely hit up some other local spots even Zippy's for comparison. Maybe I just went on a off day. To end off on a positive note they do offer a few vegetarian and vegan options!

We were greeted as we came in and told to check out the menu and join the line when we were ready to order. Tables were on a first come first served basis. The server on floor was a man of many suits is what my granddad said. He juggled hosting, clearing tables, taking orders, food delivery service, phone orders, and serving meals. His service was very efficient and hospitable. Their menu is expansive which made deciding both easy and hard for most of us since their whole menu sounded great. We all ended up with their top sellers, the server knowing it was our first time to Hawaii recommended this famous Hawaiian dish. Something about hearing homemade gravy and burger patties along with runny eggs sounds too good to miss out on, with being name Loco Moco, what's not to try? Their famous smoked pork (what they are known for) glazed with this sweet pineapple sauce with a nice punch of heat was definitely a highlight for everyone at the table. We also got the Korean style beef ribs that's served on a hot skillets. The aroma filled the restaurant and definitely captured everyone's attention, this by far was my favorite thing on our table aside from the coconut cake which we had for dessert (Justin, tell your sister I need the recipe!). For seafood we got the Ahi katsu salad (we had to be somewhat healthy lol) it was nice and crispy on the outside. Sauces complemented the juicy flavorful dish so well. I never had papaya seed dressing before until today and I ended up buying my own at Safeway! Sweet, tangy, refreshing paired well with the fish. Hurricane mochi chicken was juicy on the outside and the crispy skin was coated with Hurricane sauce (Teri aioli sauce) so good my nephew bought a bottle to take home. Overall the food was amazing. Server checked on us several times, offering to go plates if you need them ( we didn't need it, we had a proper "mopsesh" ) Disclaimer: They serve their food on paper plates, trust me the food taste better on these plates. The locals next to us said that's what you call a plate lunch while watching our food hit the table Overall experience was great, the service was impressive, the food was amazing, and the place was neat and clean. Thank you Justin for sharing a piece of your family with mines. We will definitely be returning on our next trip. Congratulations with the restaurant expanding as well! You guys are an inspiration! PS: While you wait for your food, read up on their wall and learn a bit of Hawaiian History. They also have a portrait of Sparky's himself.

Looking for a kid and family friendly Restaurant with Local and Filipino Cuisine? Look no further…read moreand head to Tante's Island Cuisine in the heart of Kahului at the Maui Seaside Hotel. Our Ohana and family friends have been eating here for years. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If you're looking for a place to have a small gathering or celebration, they do catering and had a small party near our table (we were told to be quiet during a prayer for that party which we respectfully did). Our family of 7 ordered a variety of food. My nephew is Vegan and there was a Veggie Stir Fry he ordered with Tofu. My Brother in Law who is on the pickier side and likes it "simple" got Beef Teriyaki with Macaroni Salad. And my mom and niece love their Filipino food so mom ordered a Tamarind Soup with Shrimp and Vegetables called Sinigang and my niece ordered a Peanut Sauce dish called Kare Kare. My dad, sister and I stick to our favorites. He got his usual Baby Back Ribs (which I didn't get to picture), my sister got Sautéed Mahi Mahi with Lemon Caper Sauce and I got my usual Local Favorites Combo that had the most tender and savory Beef Teriyaki and crispy Mahi Mahi with Tartar Sauce on a bed of Cabbage. The Molokai Sweet Potato is a must when you get a side but this time, I did crave some greens so I opted for a side salad with Papaya Dressing. Your Meal isn't complete without Dessert! And Filipino Ice Dessert I might add...Halo Halo (which literally translates to "mix mix"). Being the true Fil-American that I am, I don't like to "Mix Mix" because I prefer my Ube Ice Cream in tact lol. I explained this to my Brother in Law from the Mainland who also said this is the first Purple anything he's ever eaten haha! But this is a refreshing ice dessert to end the meal since it has fresh cantaloupe, avocado, coconut, banana, and jellies, and the ice is creamy with an evaporated and condensed milk mix. If you want to "mix mix" let your inner Filipino out! Our visiting family had a great time catching up and enjoyed our yummy meal together. The Filipino aunty servers are always top notch and serve your food with Aloha. We probably only waited 15 minutes or so for the food as well which is always appreciated especially when hungry.

They've been part of the island's food scene for over 12 years now, and I still remember their off-the-beaten-path spot on Hobron Avenue in Kahului. You would have never guessed there was delicious food being served up there, but those who knew, knew. These days, you can find them in Kahului parked at Da Tambayan Corner on Lono Avenue, or sometimes popping up out at Ho'okipa. Now, full disclosure -- I don't eat raw fish, so I can't personally vouch for their poke bowls, but that's what they're known for and I've had a number of friends and family enjoy it. What I can vouch for, though, is their fried poke -- perfectly seasoned ahi cubes, floured and fried, served over rice and lettuce, and drizzled with a creamy mayo aioli. Get it hurricane style for extra sauce and furikake seasoning -- it's delicious and gives it an extra boost as once in a while it's on the drier side. Another favorite is the poke bake, which is just as satisfying and generously portioned. Started getting this recently and it hits the spot. Highly recommend either dish, especially if you're like me and prefer your fish cooked. And whatever you do, don't skip the furikake fries -- curly fries topped with aioli and furikake. SO good. Beyond the great food, my team has worked with Like Poke for company events, and they're always a hit. Friendly service and consistent quality eats that keep people coming back -- they're a favorite among locals for a reason.

I was immediately intrigued by the calamansi pork -- an item I had never seen it on a menu before. One bite and I was hooked. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the bright, citrusy calamansi added a unique tang that made the dish completely unforgettable. It was so good that I'm still thinking about it after coming home. We also tried the pancit noodles, pork sisig, and mochiko chicken, and every dish was excellent. For my first visit to Maui and my first time trying Da Soriano Grindz, this food truck set the bar incredibly high. If you're visiting Maui and want amazing Filipino food that's a little different from what you'll find elsewhere, don't skip this spot. The calamansi pork alone is worth the trip.

Ambiance was low key and fun.
