[[HIGHLIGHT]]Local Hawaiian food at its best, with a beautiful view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patrons come from all walks of life, the locals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good portions and the mini size, which was perfect for us. Can't wait to come back again.

Authentic local eats ! AND family owned! We got the Beef stew, pork laulau, and banana cream pie ! Everything was DELISH. Great portions. Left so full and satisfied. Ready for a nap for sure! Best Mac salad I've had on Maui! Made fresh every day We LOVE Waikapu on 30

    Hawaiian plate

The food is so good!! The portions generous. I ordered a Hawaiian plate with pork laulau, lomi salmon, rice, mac salad and sweet potato. The laulau cooked to perfection was moist with just the right ratio of fat to meat.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Was looking for a local spot while in Maui and we saw online that this was a good one. Definitely got the local vibes from this; its pretty much a house on the side of the highway, you order and get your food from a window, and sit outside on some benches and enjoy the view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got recommended the pork lau lau lunch plate and my gf got the saimin. Ton of food and we were stuffed afterwards. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view is nice but be prepared for sitting outside under trees if you plan to eat here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food is amazing! We have only tried their burgers and macaroni salad but the burgers were so good, we had to get a couple for dinner to go. Next time I will try the loco moco or chicken. The service is friendly and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's an authentic little road side restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can sit on some picnic tables and eat or take it to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back soon.

On our way back from Kihei, we chose to drive the more beautiful way through Waikapu and Wailuku, to Upcountry. Wanting an early lunch, we decided to stop at this roadside restaurant I had read good reviews about. It was before 11 in the morning, so we were the only customers. That changed soon enough right after we sat down to eat on one of the picnic tables on the farside of the big parking lot. We both decided on the chow fun because we love that dish and because we wanted to taste their take on it. We were not disappointed. No bean sprouts, yay, and not too greasy. It was the perfect local lunch, of which they offer many. Service was friendly, and we plan to go back and try something else next time we're down that way, despite the fact that they're Packers fans

My husband was in search of authentic lau lau and finally found this location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a good sized parking lot and several picnic tables under a tree with views of the valley and ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Hubbs had pork lau lau with traditional mac salad and rice. I had the mini shoyu chicken. Everything was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only reason they did not get 5 stars is there is no public restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And it's a long drive for us tourists. But still worth it.

It's a local joint.. prices did go up but still decent. I tried the $5 banana cream pie (soft shortbread crust with fresh banana) and $13.95 mini beef stew (tender meat). The loco moco was okay.

The food is so good and staff is always friendly and full of aloha! Love the saimin and Won Ton. I know everything else is ono, so try everything on the menu, loco moco, shoyu chicken, kalbi ribs, etc... Wish I bought the Beef Stew today when I stopped and ordered out. Next time I will definitely purchase ! Fresh pothole fern salad also yummy and made daily. Delicious . Don't forget! Order Haupia pie for dessert, it melts in your mouth , so good! All the desserts are made fresh and also made daily. , Pick up lunch and then order something else to take home for dinner or grab Auntie some pork lau Lau and lomi lomi salmon! :0)

The Spot for Local Grindz!! Save this for your next Maui eats. You won't regret it, trust. This is a family own biz with local grindz that will have your tummy so satisfied but will also have you coming back for more! What caught my family's attention was the smell of the BBQ from driving on the highway! Here's what we ate: - Pork Laulau Plate (A MUUUUSSSSSSSSST!!! I cannot stressed that enough!) - Combo BBQ Plate (straight from their grill, too!) - A side of FRESH poi Honestly, hands down, the meatiest laulau I had during my Maui trip. I appreciate the amount of pork versus taro leaves. This plate was juicy, tender and 100% satisfied my laulau craving! Service was great. Food came out in a timely matter. Utensils were provided, and there are a few picnic tables for you to enjoy your eats. There's a lot of chickens and roosters running around so be careful- they might nip at your big toe lol They're open Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm so plan accordingly!

Ask the Community - Waikapu On 30

Is msg used in the food? I have a severe allergy and have to ask.

Anyone know anything about the "ice cream roll" trailer that was selling stuff out of the parking lot last week?

This sounds like Cream B Maui - they post their locations and operating hours on their Instagram and Facebook accounts. Hopefully it's what you were looking for! :)

You can really taste the quality. One little detail I appreciate is that they dice the onions small, rather than the big chunks you get at a lot of other places. It makes for a better bite every time. They have a great variety too, with everything from spicy ahi to tako and shoyu options. Are they on the higher priced side? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. This is a nice "treat yourself" kind of poke, and we will absolutely be back. If you are looking for quality fresh poke on Maui, give Kaohu Store a try.

It's definitely more of a convenient store than a restaurant. Everything is to-go only, there is definitely no seating available. Also, if you thought you wanted to eat in your car, don't plan on it, as there is a very explicit sign that says no eating, parking for 5 minutes only. Despite all these particular eating criteria, I enjoyed trying the various pokes! They have at least 10 different to choose from, that it was difficult choosing just two for my husband and I to try. I believe I got the Hawaiian Style, and also the Shoyu style. I liked the Shoyu one a bit better, for more sauciness and soy sauce added to the ahi. I also really liked how this place includes rice (huge win for eating right away!) and in a separate container! Well thought out!! Also credit cards are accepted. Great poke find quite close to the airport. Would recommend if you're starving coming off your flight, want something fast and easy, that you can enjoy instantly.

Do it! because it is well worth it. If you are looking for some true, basic, local, comfort food, this is a spot. We had the loco moco, corned beef hash loco moco, and the beef stew loco moco. All tasted sooo good and comforting. Loco moco beef patty was tender, moist and cooked properly. Had that earthy beef taste from the seasonings or was that just the natural flavor of the beef? Corned beef hash loco moco had that lightly grilled exterior with moist interior. Not too salty. I could taste the corned beef. So good! Beef stew loco. Wow! Never had that combo. Beef was tender, veg was plentiful. Excellent beef stew! We upgraded from white rice to their fried rice and were glad we did. Their fried rice is cooked with bacon and bits of their roast park and other meats. So flavorful! This place is known for its multiple loco moco flavors / combinations. Definite must try when you are here. Service was local, funny, and kind.

On this trip we had the Lunch Special which was the Waygu loco moco that came with white rice and Mac salad and two eggs over easy. The price is still reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting and the service was great even though there was only one waitress and she was doing double duty as hostess. She was very pleasant and the service is some of the best I have had on Maui. I like how the new place has a nice local feel while having that new but welcoming aura.
