Authentic local eats ! AND family owned! We got the Beef stew, pork laulau, and banana cream pie ! Everything was DELISH. Great portions. Left so full and satisfied. Ready for a nap for sure! Best Mac salad I've had on Maui! Made fresh every day We LOVE Waikapu on 30

Local Hawaiian food at its best, with a beautiful view. The patrons come from all walks of life, the locals. Good portions and the mini size, which was perfect for us. Can't wait to come back again.

Was looking for a local spot while in Maui and we saw online that this was a good one. Definitely got the local vibes from this; its pretty much a house on the side of the highway, you order and get your food from a window, and sit outside on some benches and enjoy the view. I got recommended the pork lau lau lunch plate and my gf got the saimin. Ton of food and we were stuffed afterwards. The view is nice but be prepared for sitting outside under trees if you plan to eat here.

The food is amazing! We have only tried their burgers and macaroni salad but the burgers were so good, we had to get a couple for dinner to go. Next time I will try the loco moco or chicken. The service is friendly and fast. It's an authentic little road side restaurant. You can sit on some picnic tables and eat or take it to go. We will be back soon.

On our way back from Kihei, we chose to drive the more beautiful way through Waikapu and Wailuku, to Upcountry. Wanting an early lunch, we decided to stop at this roadside restaurant I had read good reviews about. It was before 11 in the morning, so we were the only customers. That changed soon enough right after we sat down to eat on one of the picnic tables on the farside of the big parking lot. We both decided on the chow fun because we love that dish and because we wanted to taste their take on it. We were not disappointed. No bean sprouts, yay, and not too greasy. It was the perfect local lunch, of which they offer many. Service was friendly, and we plan to go back and try something else next time we're down that way, despite the fact that they're Packers fans

My husband was in search of authentic lau lau and finally found this location. It has a good sized parking lot and several picnic tables under a tree with views of the valley and ocean. The Hubbs had pork lau lau with traditional mac salad and rice. I had the mini shoyu chicken. Everything was delicious. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is there is no public restroom. And it's a long drive for us tourists. But still worth it.

It's a local joint.. prices did go up but still decent. I tried the $5 banana cream pie (soft shortbread crust with fresh banana) and $13.95 mini beef stew (tender meat). The loco moco was okay.

The food is so good and staff is always friendly and full of aloha! Love the saimin and Won Ton. I know everything else is ono, so try everything on the menu, loco moco, shoyu chicken, kalbi ribs, etc... Wish I bought the Beef Stew today when I stopped and ordered out. Next time I will definitely purchase ! Fresh pothole fern salad also yummy and made daily. Delicious . Don't forget! Order Haupia pie for dessert, it melts in your mouth , so good! All the desserts are made fresh and also made daily. , Pick up lunch and then order something else to take home for dinner or grab Auntie some pork lau Lau and lomi lomi salmon! :0)

The Spot for Local Grindz!! Save this for your next Maui eats. You won't regret it, trust. This is a family own biz with local grindz that will have your tummy so satisfied but will also have you coming back for more! What caught my family's attention was the smell of the BBQ from driving on the highway! Here's what we ate: - Pork Laulau Plate (A MUUUUSSSSSSSSST!!! I cannot stressed that enough!) - Combo BBQ Plate (straight from their grill, too!) - A side of FRESH poi Honestly, hands down, the meatiest laulau I had during my Maui trip. I appreciate the amount of pork versus taro leaves. This plate was juicy, tender and 100% satisfied my laulau craving! Service was great. Food came out in a timely matter. Utensils were provided, and there are a few picnic tables for you to enjoy your eats. There's a lot of chickens and roosters running around so be careful- they might nip at your big toe lol They're open Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm so plan accordingly!

Ask the Community - Waikapu On 30

Is msg used in the food? I have a severe allergy and have to ask.

Anyone know anything about the "ice cream roll" trailer that was selling stuff out of the parking lot last week?

This sounds like Cream B Maui - they post their locations and operating hours on their Instagram and Facebook accounts. Hopefully it's what you were looking for! :)

Lots of seating, good for groups. You order then sit (I believe) as thats what most people were doing. They bring you your food (think pancake & Waffles) when it's ready and you grab your own condiments. I ordered The Bento because I couldn't make up my mind. It included rice, mac salad,1 slice spam, Mochiko Chicken, BBQ Beef, and 2 large pieces of Shrimp Katsu. Mochiko Chicken is light and crispy and the Shrimp Katsu was battered and huge. The BBQ Beef was succulent and juicy however the sauce wasn't overwhelming. Spam is spam. The rice was a tad dry however the mac salad was good. I did not eat any of the other plates however since all were empty, Im assuming it was Ono. Next to the register there is a display case with various desserts. The next day going home, we stopped by to grab some dessert. The Lava Rocks come in a pair at $5.50. Moist, soft and super chocolaty. The chocolate haupia bar was very nice and not overly sweet. The Chantilly brownie was very chocolaty with a hint of Chantilly and nuts only on top. Both bars were a Shareable size. Overall the staff is very helpful and friendly, the restaurant itself, very bright & open and the food was very Ono! Highly recommend.

I like the new location definitely easier for people to get to as the last location was upstairs with no elevator. One thing that has not changed is the food is still just as good if not even better than before. On this trip we had the Lunch Special which was the Waygu loco moco that came with white rice and Mac salad and two eggs over easy. The Wagyu burgers were perfect not over seasoned and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Still runny on the inside. I had the mis fish which was an ahi today. I liked the fact that the Miso was not overwhelming they got them mix perfect and the broccoli was perfectly cooked and it came with a scoop of white rice. Everything was perfectly done and just the right amount of food. The price is still reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting and the service was great even though there was only one waitress and she was doing double duty as hostess. She was very pleasant and the service is some of the best I have had on Maui. I like how the new place has a nice local feel while having that new but welcoming aura. I will definitely be going back because I like to support local and these guys are making some great food for reasonable prices. I definitely recommend these guys and I will definitely be going back. So much more menu items to try.

Food: We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, miso butterfish, garlic furikake fries, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, and crispy chicken. My favorite was the hamachi sashimi. What I enjoyed about this dish was the diced maui onion that offset the citrus from the ponzu. The flavors are light, and refreshing. The most disappointing was the crispy chicken. I thought it was too salty, but that's my preference and salt tolerance. The miso butterfish was also a great dish. The fish was buttery and flavored well. Not too saucy but the perfect amount of sauce. Service: Service is friendly, like most of the restaurants on Maui. The food was served in a timely manner.
