Delicious Vietnamese food in the heart of White Center! In my opinion the star menu items are the short rib rice plate, special vermicelli rice bowl, and the fish sauce chicken wings. The short ribs are a must try! The only item that I did not love was the pho. It had some untraditional vegetables like broccoli and bok choy in it and it was just not for me. If you plan to order take out make sure to call ahead at least 30 minutes before. I recently went here and they never even bothered taking my order, I waited over 20 minutes just to order some food and the man never even checked in to see if I did. I had to walk up to him and let him know, I'm not sure if he forgot or just didn't care. Da Lat Quan is a pretty solid Vietnamese restaurant that offers some unique Vietnamese dishes that you won't find at most places, with their speciality being Mi Quang. This is one of the most underrated Vietnamese dishes so it's awesome to find a place that makes a really good bowl of it, which is hard to find in Seattle! Other than the Mi Quang, we also had the dry Hu Tieu which was on point. Everything about the food here packed flavor, and with typical traditional Viet dishes, you'll get a great bang for your buck in terms of portion size. They also offered Bo Lo Lat as a tasty appetizer, although a bit pricy. Overall, pretty solid Vietnamese restaurant. This doesn't match my parents' homemade cooking, but so far it's my go-to for Mi Quang. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Da Lat Quan. My husband and I went there for an early dinner on a Saturday. They are open during COVID-19 for dine in or take out. The place was a little hard to find, but they are inside a strip mall complex. They have a big parking lot, but the individual spaces are pretty small. I ordered Bun #3 - Vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and assorted vegetables, topped with peanuts. I thought it was really good and it was a hearty portion for one person. My husband ordered pho. He couldn't decide between a small or a large, but there is only $1 difference in the price, so he went with large. Their version of pho also includes vegetables like broccoli, which I haven't seen before. My husband liked his food and he thought the broth was very flavorful. Our server was super nice and totally on top of things (she was working front of house all by herself). We enjoyed our food and it was very reasonably priced. Next vegetables were the right amount, not too much/too little...just perfect and perfectly pickled. Now for the best part, the BBQ pork was a decent amount and it tasted really good. Da Lat Quan is a White Center gem. I get take out here frequently and it's always delicious. I want to branch out, but my rotation seems to be Banh Xeo (if you have never had this crepe style dish, do it!), some kind of Bun dish, and Mi Quang (I am mildly obsessed with this dish and like Banh Xeo, want to taste it everywhere I go). I was told that the Beef Combination Hot Pot here was very good so we gave it a try. The amount of food was very generous! There were 3 of us who were all very hungry and we couldn't finish the pot. It could feed 4-5 people easily. I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants and I don't see this kind of generosity very often. In term of flavors, it was tasty in every bite. The vegetables were fresh, the sauce was delicately yummy, and the broth was fantastic! In the hot pot, you'll find a combination of beef balls, beef tails, beef tribe, flank, tendon, etc. They were cooked to the perfect tenderness. Oh did I mention the service is exceptional here? After attending the Yelp Elite event at Sooth Park with my wife, we wanted some Asian food. We just drive around to hangout and ended up in White Center, my old neighborhood. Very few shops still open at that time. We stopped at this place. I ordered the Nam Vang noodle, dry version, but ended up need to put the broth in the bowl to make soup to get me some flavor. My wife ordered the Beef Spicy Noodle soup. She was pretty happy with her soup. I think I got short changed. The menu says it comes with minced pork and quail eggs. Unfortunately, none of those items were in my bowl. I gave them the benefit of doubt. Perhaps, it was an honest mistake by the cook. The service was pretty good. I ordered from this place a bunch of time through UberEATS and dine in more than four times since they open . I am used to be impressed with the food here but not anymore . This last time is unacceptable. The price is up but the quantity decrease . the flavor wise is inconsistent depends on your luck . Really unique and authentic Vietnamese food. It was my first time trying da lat food and I was not disappointed. For apps, we got the tom cuon hanh la and bo la lot. Both were delicious, we kept plopping them off the plate. Even my niece and nephew who can be picky gobbled it up. For mains, we got the signature mi quang da lat, pho, and com suon bo. Amazing restaurant. Food was outstanding. Fried quail appetizer is a tasty meal in itself. The signature Mi Quang dish was different than anything we've had before and was rich, hearty and bursting with diverse flavors.
