Da Nani is da bomb! A food truck parked at Whaler Village is a fun idea. There are a lot of food choices here, but the menu here is extensive, reasonable, and delicious! The first day I ate here I would have given it a four. I got the catch of the day, which was mahi-mahi, in a Mac nut crema with rice and Mac salad. Honestly their Mac salad was nothing special and I didn't want to eat it. It also was not a huge portion of fish. But it was still tasty. And the cabbage yes the fish came on was frankly amazing! I loved it and wanted more... And I usually don't get so excited about cabbage. I decided to come the next day two for lunch to try something else on the menu. I got the seared ahi sliders which come with fries, and a side of cabbage salad (they call it coleslaw but it is not drenched in mayo). WOW!! The ahi was so fresh and huge portions. And the fries were extremely delicious. I got full before I could eat all of the cabbage. My sweetie ordered something with meat, I forget what lol, but he really liked it. They were also very considerate about his fish allergy and explained that my ahi would not be made near his dish. Lots of choices here, but I bet you I will be back at at least once this week. Such a cute place in the whalers village. I love how it's kind of like a permanent food truck. I got the fried fish tacos and this was the best decision I ever made in my whole life. Some how they were better than the $25 fish tacos I got at some other place. The fish was so crispy. The sauce was delicious. My wife and I visited this location of Da Nani Pirates 6 times over a 5 day vacation. Yes, multiple visits in a day happened. A typical conversation at about noon usually was something like: "are you hungry?, sure but only if we get pirates, sounds good let's go." This was by far the standard for a well priced and fresh meal in the area. Food is very good, we tried many of the items, the two standouts are the "fresh catch lunch plate" and the "ahi tacos". The ahi tacos might be my favorite tacos of the trip, the feta dressing with some wasabi is a nice touch. The only issue, which is minor, is that when they run out of items (mac salad, slaw) they will replace it but never said anything. I'm fine with extra rice instead of Mac salad but letting someone know ahead may help. This was the go to for most lunch and dinners, well done and we will be back! read more

My family and I stopped at this food truck on two occassions, once for lunch and another day for dinner. I had the pork sliders which come with a side of curly seasoned fries. The entire meal was delicious!! Other members of my family had a salad with chicken on top and fish tacos. There were no complaints. When we went for dinner I ordered the shoyu chicken wrap. Unfortunately, I wasn't the biggest fan of the wrap. There was mostly mixed greens in it and a very few small pieces of chicken. The wrap almost seemed soggy because it was mostly greens in it. It came with rice and macaroni salad. Nothing super flavorful but not bad. I ordered a side of onion rings which were yummy. Cute food truck which is a total bonus at Whaler's Village. Glad I finally got to try. Regular food was on point! Keiki menu to me isn't worth it though. They're better off trying out food from the regular menu because the food is way tastier! Plus if they don't finish and you have to assist, you'll be happier with the choices. We found this cool Hawaiian food truck in an outdoor mall in Ka'anapali so we decided to give it a try. Food came out pretty fast so the wait time was minimum. The pulled pork I ordered was delusions, not dry and seasoned well. I also had some Hawaiian macaroni was yummy they just didn't give me enough like two Tablespoon scoops. We normally stop and eat here our first night in Maui. It's quick, good food normally. This time around we had what tasted like cod overcooked & dark brown. ( I should have checked before walking back to the Hyatt) . The fried shrimp was very good. Four people ran a bill of $100. Because I noted I was charged an extra meal & received the extra meal that was overcooked) This place has gotten very pricey for a food truck but low winds seem to shut down a restaurant we were eating at (for fear of fire) . But this truck kept cooking with no issues. Buckle up for the price shock. This place is legit. This location is once you come in from the parking lot at whalers village. When we went both times there wasn't a long line. All their food was delicious! We went here a second time after having the worse dinner of our trip at monkeypods kitchen. Everything was fresh and the flavors popped! Even the macaroni salad which was very simply done was good. Huge fried calamari strips in the sample platter. Everything was cooked to perfection The burger was huge! Delicious! The soyou chicken was actually my favorite dish. It was so tender and very flavorful. On the sweetside so it definitely needs the rice to balance it for me. Fried fish tacos were simple but cooked perfectly and the sauce was good. A poorly-kept secret is that the best public parking at the resort-heavy Kaanapali area of Lahaina is to park at the Whaler's Village Mall and buy something at the mall to get 3 hour validation. Minimum is either $15 or $20 depending on where you go... the ABC Store is $15. There are signs that say "No beach parking," but they don't really mean it. But we needed lunch anyway, and got food at the Da Nani truck, not really expecting much. Surprise! IT WAS REALLY GOOD!! We had the fish sliders (fish that day was Opah) and it was perfectly cooked, lightly breaded with flaky, juicy meat. That came with curly fries and a nice dipping sauce. We also had the garlic shrimp which again was cooked just right (not overcooked!) and had a delicious green dressing. Also got a side of onion rings, which as is the case everywhere, best eaten hot. This is a great addition to Whaler's Village, and an easy stop for a quick lunch or dinner. We came as a quick dinner option when we didn't feel like waiting anywhere or paying a lot. The prices are very reasonable for the area (bearing in mind the prices in this area). I wanted the buffalo chicken wrap - but they were out of buffalo chicken. So first I was super sad about that. It wasn't even super late, only around 5:30, so don't know what the deal was. Ended up ordering the pulled pork sliders. The sliders were good, the curly fries were excellent. The sliders had a decent amount of meat but definitely could've used some more sauce. We were given the house sauce on the side - which tasted like a mildly spicy kind of bbq sauce.
