Upon entering the restaurant, we were surprised to find that it was completely empty, with no other customers present. We got our table and Nicole, our server, brought us the menus. After talking with her, we decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and the Pollo con Pepe. Since the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch on the weekend, we were a little unsure about the food. While we were waiting for our order, the server brought us our bread and butter. The bread and butter was really good, and it was a great start to our lunch. Soon, our plates arrived, which had pasta and a sandwich. We started with pasta and it was delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was creamy and smooth. My toddler also loved it. It was a great way to start our lunch. We also had the Pollo Con Pepe, which is our chicken sandwich. Everyone in our group loved it! The bread was fresh, and the chicken was well-seasoned and just the right amount of crunch. Fratello's Italian Tavern was a great place for lunch.

In a shortsighted display of poor judgment, Vespa now CHARGES customers ($1.50) for a meager, 1-oz. ramekin of sauce on the side. My sister, her family and I have been loyal customers for YEARS, during which time I've watched this restaurant go downhill. This "nickel-and-dime" b.s. with the marinara sauce is the final straw. I will never spend another dollar here, and I encourage anyone reading this review to dine elsewhere!!

Then in 2016 I wrote an update since I lived around the corner and would go all the time... still five stars. It's now been almost thirteen years since that first review, and even though I don't live around the corner, I still get giddy about the thought of picking up a pizza or stopping in for dinner at La Pizzeria. So of course, all these years later, La Pizzeria continues to get a resounding five stars from me. The staff is great and most of them have been there for many years which speaks to them running a great operation. My guy Eddie has been there as long as I can remember and he always has a kind word or a smiling face when I call or walk in. Every time I get a bite of their pizza I think why haven't I had this in so long and I vow to start going once a week. Going weekly would be detrimental to my waistline and my wallet, but my taste buds would never tire of that delicious first bite of delicious pizza. This is easily one of my most favorite places in town.
