Anytime I am feeling sick or just want comfort soup, I come here for pho! I love their egg rolls number 50, they are crunchy and the shrimp is fresh. I also always get 2B, which is pho with beef and meatballs or just the beef. Sometimes I get the pho with chicken. Either way their service is quick and very attentive. I give them a 5 just because I am a fan of the pho and the service and I've been coming here for a year or so. I will say that in the past 3 months there has been 2 mistakes with my order. The first time they fixed immediately, the second time I didn't even mention because it was pho and I really just wanted to eat it and it gave me a chance to try something new. My family and I have been coming here for almost 15 years and it's a staple of our diet! Every time I'm home to visit, coming here is mandatory. My mom would get out from her late night shifts at the hospital to have pho for breakfast. Over the years we've expanded to their other menu items - their egg rolls are perfectly crispy and highly recommend eating wrapped in lettuce. The spring rolls are perfectly wrapped and stuffed with shrimp, pork, and noodles. The pepper beef is delicious and I can't help but make lettuce wrap bites with them. I have been wanting to try Da Vang for Da Longest time. It did not disappoint. We went on NY day, there was a line out the door as we arrived. I knew it would be good when I saw that. The wait was about 30 minutes to get in. Tables were properly spaced apart. Our group of 4 ordered a 3A, brisket pho w/ veggies. Perfect food for a cold 65 degree January day. Stopped by for dinner here and I will say I was not impressed with the overall meal. Between my wife and I we ordered the bbq pork spring rolls, the brisket pho, and a pork bahn mi. The bbq pork in the spring rolls was so tough that it was kinda hard to eat. However, I did like the sauce that was served with the spring rolls. The pho broth in my opinion was way too sweet and didn't have enough savory flavor. The brisket was also super over cooked and dried out. The bahn mi was decent, I've had way better ones then this. We ordered the following Mi Hoanh Thanh at $6.25 which consists of Pork wonton with soup, shrimp, squid, imitation crab, and fish-meatball which is very solid. I came in here for a take out order as I just happened to be passing through and the only other Vietnamese restaurant that I know in Phoenix that is very good by the way was closed. I decided it was worth a try with all the good reviews. It is in a terrible area located in a very shady strip mall, but many times the hole in the wall places have good food so that didn't detour me at all. When we walked in the dingy place the woman at the counter didn't even bother to look up from counting her receipts and money to greet us in any way. We stood there waiting to see a menu, offered a seat or just a simple hello. She finally did look up and did me a favor to hand me a menu but never said I could have a seat just let me stand there to look at the menu. Very rude. A waiter eventually walked over and told us to have a seat and gave us water since we ordered a steam bun as we waited which tasted okay and he took our to go order. We got our food, took it home when I opened it up I was surprised that the "shrimp" in the vermicelli dish was actually shrimp or fish cake not real shrimp. I've never had greasier Vietnamese food ever! I have had this type of food many times at various restaurants and this is by far the GREASIEST! So gross, I tried to give it a chance but you can literally taste the grease on your lips with each bite. There where hard crunchy pieces in some of the chicken maybe bone? I don't know where the 4 stars come from but this was the worst Vietnamese food, it was not light or flavorful. I gave it to my dogs because we could not stomach it. I finally stopped at this establishment. I am almost fifty four years old and I have never tried Vietnamese food. I have driven by this restaurant multiple times and did not give it a second thought. I have a tendency of doing this. I had to go to the auto parts store on a Sunday and I noticed that across the street, Da Vangs parking lot was full. That is a good sign considering the surrounding businesses were closed. I was also hungry. I am so, so grateful that I gave this place a try. Well lit, relatively busy but fast friendly service. They keep the restaurant clean, clean, clean and it smelled divine. I did a quick take out order of a Bahn Mi Thit Nurong. Ten minutes in and out and I was on the road. However, I had to taste the Bahn before I started driving. In my car, I opened the package and I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation. The aroma of the pork and cilantro, fresh bread, OMG. I went for it, took a giant bite and.....foodgasm! It was absolutely, the bomb, delicious. I ate the whole sandwich in my car, before hitting the road again. My gf ordered the pork bun bowl & I ordered the vegetarian bun bowl w/Tofu. Man it was not only delicious but also huge & arrived very fast! If you're hungry this is definitely the place to go. Da Vang is Da Bomb! My hubby got a lead that this was the place to pick up really tasty and affordable Banh Mi sandwiches. So we had our lunch date there today. $3 shredded pork or BBQ pork sandwiches. The French bread is crunchy on the outside. They fill the sandwich with just the right amount of meat, a spear of cucumber, cilantro, shredded carrot and radish pickles. Sprinkle a little of the sauce mixture they give you and voila, a delicious sandwich that doesn't bust your wallet. We also took home a BBQ Pork plate with steamed crab cake and shredded beef (beef and tripe combination). It was the same meats that were in the Banh Mi. The plate was $6.75. We also took home the Pho Tai ($4.25). They package the thinly sliced meat separately. They also have you bring home the rice noodles, bean sprouts, basil, lime, sliced onions and green onions separately. Oh, they give you jalapenos, too. At home, we heated up the soup, tossed in the beef and veggies and marveled at the aromatic broth. We will be back ready to eat more. We saw a hor fun or stir fried wide rice noodle dish with tonnes of veggies and meats that we want to try. Oh, while I waited, I drank sweetened soyabean drink. It was to die for. Came here for brunch with my mom. It was quite busy but we got seated right away. The restaurant look old from in and out. The tables and chairs look dirty and it has a sticky feel. Service was nice and fast. The menu even have food stuck to it. I ordered the bun rieu (noodle crab soup) and my mom ordered banh hoi chao tom thit nuong (thin noodles wrap with fried shrimp ham and bbq pork). The bun rieu was good. It got mince crab/pork with blended eggs, pigs hocks, porks blood, and the one thing I never had it with bun rieu before is the red bbq pork. It was very authentic, but I honestly don't prefer the red bbq pork in there, because it was meaty. The banh hoi chao tom thit nuong was delicious. You just have to wrap your own spring rolls and dip into the fish sauce they made. Service and food was great, but I wish they would clean more or update tables and chairs.
