From what I've seen years prior, I believe Daboba has been more milk tea dominant, but it looks like Daboba has been doing a few more fruit teas. I tried the grapefruit tea, and it wasn't too bad. I would say it tasted a little more syrupy compared to other places, but the boba texture was spot on. I personally wouldn't get the grapefruit again or try their fruit teas, but I'll definitely come back for the boba and maybe try something they're more known for!! Great spot to chill! Came here when it's dark and it's honestly a cozy place to hang out, plus they close pretty late (compared to the rest of Mira Mesa) so that's always nice! The drinks are good, although they're super sweet despite asking for 50%, highly recommend going 25% or less if you usually do 50% at other stores. I'm still waiting for the day they have their taro crème frappe. I came here when they first opened and the workers there said they def would have it soon - it's been, idk I wanna say about a year now? It's finally open!!! Been going to the Kearny Mesa location for a while now but so happy to have one closer to home for me. Drinks: One of my favorite places for actual boba. Many times I go to "boba" places and get drinks with jelly or other toppings because their boba just doesn't cut it. Not here! The boba at daboba is great. Love the roasted brown sugar series, their frappes, and their fruit tea series. Service: Came late on a Sunday night and didn't wait too long. I will say the register is positioned too close to the door so part of the line can be forced to wait outside if it gets even somewhat long. Workers were nice when we came but I did see some other reviews that warned of bad service so be cautious while they figure things out from being new. Ambiance: Good vibes and decor inside however not as many places to sit as the Kearny Mesa location. Good place to hang out with 2-4 people but definitely not for big groups. Came here early in the afternoon on a weekday for a drink, and I ordered the Japanese Roasted Milk Tea (50% sweet.) The roasted tea flavor was very prominent and it wasn't too sweet! It also didn't have the kind of artificial flavor that I've tasted in other roasted teas, so I really enjoyed it. The interior was clean and spacious - it would be a nice place to do work. The barista was also really nice, and my drink was made so quickly. Parking is a little difficult, so I would imagine it would be more stressful getting here during busier times. So happy that Daboba is finally in Mira Mesa! It's in a cozy little area in the middle of Mira Mesa but be warned the parking lot is tight. The quality of the drinks were great but my favorite part was the boba itself. It was still warm and fresh and perfectly chewy. Service was good and the worker was attentive and asked if we had any questions. The menu is still being worked on so not all the options from the Kearny Mesa location are available here. The photo ops are super cute and perfect for pictures. I do see this place getting easily congested when they are busy as the building is so small. I'm glad a Daboba opened in Mira Mesa, close to home. My favorites are typically the Brown Sugar Matcha and Mango Frappe. So of course at this location, we tried the above roasted brown sugar matcha, mango frappe additional to the roasted brown sugar avocado fresh milk, roasted brown sugar milk tea, kumquat lemon seasons, winter melon green tea, authentic milk tea, cheese milk tea. The roasted brown sugar avocado just reminds me of a avocado smoothie I can simply make at home, so I would not order that again. Everything else I enjoyed thoroughly. The boba is nice and chewy, extra sweet though because of the brown sugar in case you need to decrease the sugar of your actual drink. I also love the decor, it's very cute inside with the little nook on the right side and another waiting area near the restroom, additional to the high bar seating and regular bench/chair seating. This is a pretty good boba spot with a very aesthetic interior if you're in the area and wanting boba. I ordered the Wintermelon Milk Tea with 75% sweetness and thought that it was still too sweet, so I recommend ordering a little less sweetner than you normally would at other places. The drink was on the smaller side for the price, but I enjoyed the cheese foam on top paired with the tea. Service was quick and friendly but parking can be a little bit tight so try to come at an off peak time to find good parking. read more

Visited on 9/08 and did not have a good experience! After driving past this shop sooo many times we decided to try it out. Parking is a bit tough because you turn off of Mira Mesa blvd, but there was plenty of spots available. When we walked in we weren't greeted by the employees, and the first thing they said was that they ran out of boba. We ordered the RBS avocado and green tea yakult. When our order was ready the employees didn't say the order number and just left it on the counter. We had reallyyy high hopes for the RBS avocado drink based on the reviews but it was not good! The avocado they used was under-ripe so there were hard chunks on avocado in it. It was also super sweet with the creme brulee top, so maybe order 25% sweetness if you want this. I would not recommend it. The green tea yakult was really good though. The shop was clean too. I might visit again to see if there are any improvements or better drinks to order. read more

New boba shop in Mira Mesa! Drinks were of good quality. I got a large Roasted Oolong milk tea with boba at 50% sweet and light ice. I can definitely taste the roasted oolong which was nice! But wished it had a slightly less milk component thus enhancing the tea flavor even more. The boba was soft and chewy, so they were delicious! Customer service was great as well. Despite being busy, the employees were friendly. They forgot to add boba to my drink and the lady apologized and remade it without a fuss. I also picked up drinks for my family. Kumquat Lemon green tea and passion fruit green tea and they liked their drinks as well. Looking forward to trying their other drinks on the menu. Last but not least, store was clean! Which is also ways a plus!! Music choice was nostalgic and relaxing. Several indoor seating available, no outdoor seating. Prices were reasonable and there's a small shared parking lot nearby. The Kearny Mesa location is far-and-away managed much better than this oddly located one in Mira Mesa. There is parking in the rear in addition to the spots near Tasty Pot and the Chinese restaurant but you still need to snake your way into the complex. My tried and true order at Daboba is the Creme Brulée Brown Sugar w/ Matcha Pearls. For some reason, the drink was barely torched on top with the serious lack of that delightful crunch. Also, way too much ice despite the "less ice" request and some tapioca pearls/ boba were floating at the top for some reason. Somehow, they even added an exorbitant amount of cream, the liquid matcha portion virtually non-existent. That being said, I will stick to the superior KM location! read more

At least for us, the point of getting these drinks is to have the pearls, without it, we might as well just drink milk at home. There's two DaBoba locations so far in San Diego and the Mira Mesa one is the smaller of the two. I do prefer this DaBoba as it is more intimate with a cafe vibe to it with a few tables and lounge areas in every corner. I got a Japanese Roasted Milk Tea with half sweetness. The sugar level was accurate while still having the flavor of the tea. I'm not too big on Brown Sugar series, but they do specialize in them and my friend ordered one. Overall, I'd come for boba here given the options in Mira Mesa. The location of the store is right before the freeway and you enter from the side so it felt quite hidden from other stores and was not located in a particular plaza. I also expected them to call the order number when the drinks are ready but they did not, so our drinks were just sitting at the counter for a while. Overall just a little frustrating especially compared to the prompt and efficient service at the Kearny Mesa location. This is a great boba place. The boba came out warm, covered in that sweet delicious brown sugar, and was so chewy and satisfying. I got the roasted brown sugar (brûlée) matcha and it was so good. The matcha had a good flavor and the brûlée sugar crystals offered a fun bite. I believe it was topped with cheese foam. My husband got cheese foam too and it wasn't our favorite. It was rather bitter and very very thick which made it hard to drink at the end when you're trying to get all the boba through the straw! The menu was large which was exciting. It's generally a cute place to catch up with friends and service was friendly. The place needed to be temp controlled though because the day we came it was soooo hot inside with the only door closed too. VERY RUDE EMPLOYEE, BAD FOR BUSINESS!!! I along with many other individuals that I knew were regulars at this establishment coming at least twice a week until recently. There is an employee named "Errol" (not quite sure of the spelling) but he is short, Asian, and wears glasses. NEVER have I EVER come across an employee who was so rude to individuals. He is bad for business and because of the attitude he has towards paying customers, he lost 10+ regulars. The last visit I had is what did it for me. I walked into the shop with a coworker of mine and we were the only ones in the establishment. We were not greeted or anything along the lines of that. Wherever I go to any Daboba location or any tea shop for that matter, I like to order my milk teas with more tea than milk and I never have any issues. But whenever I order while he is taking my order, he gives me the hardest time. While I was ordering he asked, "what do they tell you at other places when you order like that?" And I respond with "Nothing they just do it". As I'm still trying to order, he is rushing me and saying "Is that all?" After everything that I say. When I finish ordering he leaves the register without saying anything at all so I just pay for my drinks and wait there. After I left the establishment, I couldn't let go of the way he talked to me and my coworker so I called the shop to confront him about what happened and I was even more blown away by how he spoke to me. He tells me "I know that I have a bad attitude, I'm having a bad day". But that does not give you the right to take it out on customers! I told him that I would like to speak to his manager and he told me "he's not here right now but go ahead and call him, his name is ___ (I forgot)". I was so shocked and angry that I hung up on him. I spoke about this incident with my friends who also come here and they also have bad experiences with this employee. I loved this place but sadly because of his actions, I would not recommend this establishment to others unless the issue can be resolved. read more

I feel like Da Boba has been popping up all over the place and it's the second franchise I've been to. Both times have been pleasant and I like their drinks. Can't comment on the boba. I got the pumpkin spice milk tea 75% sweet and loved it. I usually get coffee version elsewhere but never milk tea version. We also got the strawberry frappe (yogurt) and it was so good! It was sweet, fruity and creamy. Parking in this plaza is odd. The first time I've had Daboba was in the convoy location and nothing really stood out to me, but I decided to give them another chance. I got the Japanese roasted milk tea, and for some reason I didn't think this was oolong until they called out my order as oolong instead. I do like oolong tea, yet the flavor seemed off with this one and it had a canned milk tea flavor. I came in to study and the overall interior had a cozy ambiance. The Christmas decorations are really cute and could see this place being a good hang out spot, though it is a little small. There was quite a few fruit flys that kept bothering me while I studied, which caused me to leave earlier than I intended. Overall it's definitely not my favorite boba shop, but it is really popular with my friends. Hopefully I get another chance to visit and find a drink that I do like! read more

I was super excited to have a daboba here in mira mesa and after waiting for years, i can only say that im disappointed. I always get the roasted brown sugar fresh milk at the other locations (clairemont mesa, rancho bernardo, santee) and its always been good. Here.. the roasted brown sugar is more like burnt. Burnt black with only a little sugar so it feels like you have random specks of pure bitterness in each sip. So disappointed, otherwise id likely would have been a weekly customer here.
