I was super excited to have a daboba here in mira mesa and after waiting for years, i can only say that im disappointed. I always get the roasted brown sugar fresh milk at the other locations (clairemont mesa, rancho bernardo, santee) and its always been good. Here.. the roasted brown sugar is more like burnt. Burnt black with only a little sugar so it feels like you have random specks of pure bitterness in each sip. So disappointed, otherwise id likely would have been a weekly customer here. I can almost say this is the best boba I've had. We got the roasted brown sugar pearl. IT WAS AMAZING The decor and ambiance with this place is great too! all that.. The cheese season tea was extremely salty, even with 100% sugar level, I would only advise getting it if you like VERY salty drinks, it is more salty than typical cheese foam drinks. The winter melon tea was typical, 100% sweetness is on the side of too sweet, 50% or 75% sugar would have been better. The ambiance and decor is sleek and clean. I constantly come back twice a week or more, and we live up north, about 20 minutes away. But honestly, it's worth the drive!!! I tried their most popular milk tea and it was so basic. I'm pretty sure they use MSG too because I'm very sensitive and my tongue was swelling up after just a few sips. Also the drinks are very expensive, definitely not worth it. There is no aromatic smell or taste of tea, the milk foam is overwhelming and bland, and overall the taste is not special at all. Not satisfying, not robust, not refreshing, am I missing anything else? Hopefully you get the point. Don't waste your money here. I almost want a refund. Edit, I like how the business responded and now wants scientific proof about the MSG. Get real. Some people are sensitive and can tell. How about you provide scientific evidence that you don't use MSG? You don't think milk foam can be both overwhelming and bland? Where's the contradiction? I've been to Boba places where the tea is TOO strong. Yours is the opposite. Barely any tea and mostly just sugar, milk foam, and more flavorings. It's a nice place with a very clean environment. Parking can be difficult on the weekends. Drinks are on the pricier side. They added ice to my drink that I specified no ice in, and they left an inch of room. I was pretty upset since I paid $7+, but they were busy so I didn't bother asking for a remake. One of my favorite boba chains in San Diego! Drinks are relatively small, but cheaper compared to other boba shops! I came here and got their taro brown sugar drink. The drink comes with boba and the brulee'd top. There was a bit of a corn after taste to it. Not in a bad way, but the taro tasted a bit corny. The boba was nice and chewy and I loved how caramelized the top got. The interior is smaller than the Convoy one and I'd say this is a better place for grab and go boba rather than studying at. read more

I went to the Daboba's newest location in Mira Mesa yesterday! This past weekend was their soft opening and they had their BOGO deal. Originally I wanted to order their Roasted Brown Sugar Avocado drink since that sounded unique, but I was told they sold out of that on Saturday (their first day open) :0( So instead I ordered the Roasted Brown Sugar Milk Tea and their Roasted Brown Sugar Matcha. With the BOGO deal the total came out to be $7 which is a steal nowadays for boba! :0) The roasted brown sugar series come with a creme brulee foam top (so sugar that's been blow torched) which adds a unique texture. Taste wise the milk tea was so much more flavorful than the matcha. I had thought it was going to be matcha milk tea but it was just literally matcha and milk, and the matcha flavor wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked. So overall pretty good, I think this place will give Ding Tea a run for it's money but I also thought the matcha at their Convoy location was more potent in matcha flavor which is why I gave this store a 4/5 stars. The mango frappe is pretty good. Judging from the constant stream of customers, their other offerings must be good too. The staff has been pretty quick in the order taking such that the line to the counter would be at most 3 people long. The long wait is for the preparation which I don't mind, because they make the beverages to order. Inside they have a couple tables, couches, chairs and bar height seating. You probably won't find a seat to just chill and enjoy your smoothie/drink. Space is at a premium, still it would be nice to have an outdoor seating area. Best to take the goodies to go. I appreciate the flavors they have right now, but they would not compete with other places that offer a lot more options and flavors. I don't know if they have an app for ordering. That would help too I guess. I like their decor (see pic). They seem to do seasonal themes. It's new, to the area, not an ideal location. I recently tried Daboba in Mira Mesa, and I was disappointed. The drinks lacked the flavors found in other locations, and it seems like they consistently miss some ingredients. The overall taste was subpar, making it feel like a lower-quality option compared to other places in Kearny Mesa or Santee where I have always been to when this location did not open yet. Probably worth the time to drive further instead of paying similar price but low quality drinks. For example is this purple rice yogurt drink, other locations made the drinks look so nice and with the purple rice layer around the cup, it adds crunchy texture and for this Mira Mesa location, it tastes plain and like mixing with water. Totally disappointed! Been here twice and disappointed both times. All of my friends and coworkers think the same way and I for sure will never come back. Under will be photos to show the differences. The first picture is the same drink from Kearny Mesa, always taste perfect with a lot of purple rice that help with the texture. On the other hand, in the second picture, the color is pink and it looks like a strawberry milk and there is a sea salt layer on it? Tastes horrible. Update - changing to 2 stars cause the drink was actually decent. To the owner, from wiki crème brulée (/krm brule/; French pronunciation: [km by.le]), also known as burnt cream. The "brulée" references the burned, crunchy topping made from caramelized sugar, which tops the classic creamy French custard. Maybe you can change what you call your topping. Flan or custard instead of creme brulee, so it's not misleading. Also, the picture from your menu shows the burned sugar, too. maybe remove that, too. read more

I went to Kearny's DaBoba and it was too sweet, so I took caution and ordered half sweet this time for Mira Mesa's DaBoba. The Brown Sugar Pearl Matcha Milk Tea and Pearl Milk Tea was good but not anything special. I would come back to give it another try after the place has been open for a while. Great new boba place in Mira Mesa! I heard about the soft opening of Daboba from one of the people I play pickleball with who happens to be the uncle of the owner of this store. Very nice people, friendly staff, clean place with boujee decorations and ambiance. I came with a buddy of mine after basketball and we got the roasted brown sugar pearl milk tea and it saved us. I love the creme brulee that they blow torched on top and it was sweet like how I like it.
