Decent boba that's reasonably priced. Flavorful but I've had better. Service is quick and provided with a smile. They have a few tables available and a photo booth but it wasn't functional when I visited.

Quick boba stop on my way home from errands. Location is close to the freeway with ample parking in a small shopping center overlooking the freeway. The shop is small, but quite cute with tables for relaxing and a photo machine for fun pictures, much like the purikura machines in Japan. All orders are placed through a kiosk which was fine, it did allow for orders to be placed quickly and let the employees focus on preparing any drinks. My friend and I had our orders ordered and delivered fairly quickly, probably - 5-7 minute wait overall. Both drinks were delicious and would definitely come back again.

I was excited when I realized there was a SD location for DaYung's Tea, I had tried this place before in Arizona and loved it but unfortunately didn't really love this location. I got the strawberry fresh milk which ive had before in another DaYung's location but this one tasted watered down, not strong in flavor so I was disappointed. The boba was also on the smaller side, it was cooked well but I've had better boba quality elsewhere. The location is great, by a lot of different grocery stores and workout gyms, wasn't too hard to find parking. There's also seating and tables inside the store which is nice if you want to sit down and enjoy your drink with someone.

Good but pricey. I got the pink beauty and my partner got the fresh fruit tea. At ~$8 and $9 each it's definitely on the high, high end of boba cost. We ordered through doordash and our order wasn't ready at the scheduled time which is a little annoying but they were busy. We got our drinks 10 or so minutes after the scheduled time. The actual drink flavor was really good! The pink beauty is a grapefruit drink with aloe and aiyu jelly. If you want a lighter drink, this is it. I got it with less ice and 30% sugar which was perfect. Strong grapefruit flavor. I liked the additional chew of the jelly too. My partner really liked his drink as well. The slices of fresh fruit was good too.

Though the order kiosks are a little impersonal, the service is fast and the tea is great. I ordered the kumquat green tea with lychee jelly and my husband ordered fresh watermelon juice with taro and boba (a little weird, but he loves it). I don't know that I would stay here and eat, but definitely a great pickup spot.

I always saw this boba shop whenever I shopped at Trader Joe's, so I decided to check it out on a whim one day LOL. It's located next to See's Candy, Kappa Sushi, and Supercuts in the Scripps Ranch Shopping Center in Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch. There's a parking lot with ample stalls. The only downside about this shopping center is the entrance and exit out of it. There's only one "main" way to enter and exit to go to the freeway, and it's through Mira Mesa Blvd. The line of cars extends all the way to Trader Joe's sometimes. There are two other ways in and out, but they both head towards Lake Miramar, making a huge circle to get to Mira Mesa Blvd. I got their Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with my usual 50% sweetness. The drink was good, but it had more of creamy flavor than tea flavor that I preferred. There was still a subtle hint of oolong which I definitely appreciated. It was also still very sweet even at 50% sweetness and no toppings. Making a mental note to ask for my future drinks to be maybe 25% sweetness. Huge selection of drinks to choose from! I would like to try their other drinks such as their classic special collection, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here unless I'm already shopping at Trader Joe's. P.S. I believe there's an afternoon discount (can't remember what) on drinks. I missed the discount by 10 mins SAD.

It was so hard to choose!! But we ended up trying the strawberry beauty and added lychee jelly to it. Oh my gosh...it's soooo good!!! Wow such great flavor. And the green tea has a nice floral aroma. Loved it. Will definitely be back.

Pretty good first impression so far. Ordered the strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie with boba through a kiosk right at the entrance. Both drinks were good and refreshing, it tasted and looked like it was made with fresh fruit. We opted for lower sugar levels, but thought it would've been perfect at 100% sweetness. Came with a lot of boba, yum. Drinks took 5 min or less. Since we ordered at the kiosk, there wasn't much human interaction until you pick up your drinks. Cute small shop.

Or go-to spot for Boba tea. So many businesses and choices everywhere. The important factors that are needed to make the best boba spots: 1. Boba should be slightly chewy and sweet 2. Menu selection should be unique 3. Everything it's made and tastes fresh 4. Staff are friendly and take the time to smile 5. Consistency 6. Easy to order online or via kiosk in store DaYung has a strong customer base, even with other boba shops nearby. We still try new places as they continuously open and are introduced to San Diego, but DaYung will always have our loyalty. They check all the marks above!

I'm a boba addict and I'm picky about the flavor and the texture of the boba. love coming here for Jasmine Green milk tea with boba and Brown Sugar Boba Latte. The boba is perfectly sweetened and a bit chewy, just the way I like it.

My friend suggested this place and I was looking forward to a new spot. When you enter, there are two kiosks machines on the right where you can place your order. They do not take your order at the counter unless you have a gift card transaction or are redeeming points. There is a sign specifically for that along with other signs. There is a two seat and four seat table. There is also a bar but only one bar chair available at the time. I got a hot winter melon milk tea and it was ok. There was only one person ahead but it took a while to get my order. My friend joined a little after and also noticed that it took a while to get her order.

    Wintermelon Latte (non dairy)
    Dianne A.

I came in after a Trader Joe's trip and craved milk tea--as one usually does after grocery shopping. I've had DaYung's before but have not had it in awhile so I figured, "Why not?!" The boba shop was empty with a lone staff at the front who greeted me. It is small, but it has plenty of natural lighting and a few tables to get a small group by, or a solo boba fren to hangout in there. I already knew what I wanted: I almost always get non-dairy wintermelon since my discovery of the flavor. They have two side-by-side kiosks, which is what I used to order. After entering my order in their nifty kiosk, my milk tea was done in just a few minutes. I think I drank quite possibly the best wintermelon milk tea latte I've ever had. Literally. It was slightly sweeter than usual, which is how I prefer my iced drinks to combat the melted water from the ice. Like others mentioned, they use fresh fruit, which I think is what was floating around in my drink! My only gripe is the price. It was about $7 before tip, but a $7 well spent! As I drove away happily sipping this delicious milk tea, I couldn't help but wonder when I would get it again. Knowing me, it will probably be this weekend, or next week, lol. Cheers to my fellow milk tea and boba lovers!

The banh mi chao is a dish I've had many times before, and the one here was great! Came with all the usual toppings, and the baguette that came with it was nice and fluffy. Coffee here was yummy and a good price. I thought the banh cuon was also a good price at the time, but after a few months of going around to different Vietnamese places, I've found that you can find the same quality for much cheaper. The texture was good and it seemed freshly made, but the overall flavor felt pretty bland and lacked the depth I was hoping for. It wasn't bad by any means, just not particularly memorable. The standout for me was the bo ne. The sizzling beef was much more flavorful and satisfying, and it ended up being the dish I enjoyed most during the meal. It arrived hot, had good seasoning, and felt like the stronger menu item between the two. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I'd consider coming back for the bo ne, but I probably wouldn't order the bun cuon again. Overall, a decent spot if you're in the area, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

Honestly, boba fits the area way better now, especially since more tea spots have been popping up around here. I stopped in for a quick drink and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out, which is always a good sign. Inside is clean and modern, very simple but put together. You can order at a kiosk or go up to the cashier, which makes it easy depending on what you prefer. The menu has a solid variety. All your usual milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and blended drinks, plus a good amount of toppings. They were also advertising a matcha ice spinner which caught my attention, so I'll probably come back to try that and see how their matcha quality is. I went with a mango fruit tea at 75% sweetness and added boba. I sat outside while waiting, they have limited indoor seating but a couple tables outside which is nice. The drink came out in about five minutes, so pretty quick. First thing I noticed was there were actual mango pieces in the drink, not just syrup. That was a nice surprise and added a good texture. They were soft enough to go through the straw too, so it didn't feel annoying to drink. Flavor wise, I do wish I went lower on the sweetness. Even at 75% it was still a bit too sweet for me, but that's more personal preference. The part that didn't really hit was the boba. It was a little mushy and didn't have that chewy texture I usually look for. It also had this slightly artificial honey taste that kind of overpowered the drink a bit. Not terrible, just not my favorite. It's a solid and convenient spot for the area. Good variety, quick service, and a nice setup. I'd come back, but probably switch up the toppings next time.
