This is just the best all-around diner. I love their skillet breakfasts and the "Ditka" is just stuffed with meat. Fantastic! The ambiance is straight out of small town 50's and 60's with the Beatles and Beach Boys always playing in the background. The waitresses are also very attentive and friendly. If I was just rating the hashbrowns this would be an advanced solid 5. They are shredded old school unhealthy, buttery and crispy. If you ever went to Rennebohms in Madison, WI era 1970, you will know what I mean. We have been here twice, first visit, really brown omelet, not so good. Next visit it was perfect. The ambiance is great for us 60's-nostalgic folks. You can't do better to have Beach Boys and Beatles playing in the background for the entire time we were there. But the food is worth a visit.by itself. We've only gone so far for dinner, not breakfast, which appears to have gotten rave reviews, and we've found that the sandwiches and Friday fish fry are as good or better than anywhere else we've tried. The lake perch fish fry is pricier than the alternatives, but the perch was really fresh, cooked perfectly, and well worth the premium. We expect to be regulars from now on, even if it's a bit of a haul from St. Charles. read more

Meh. The food is inexpensive, but it tastes inexpensive. I know a lot of families in the area enjoy this place for Breakfast, but I think Geneva Diner does a better job. I ordered the Pecan Waffles. I thought I'd get chopped up chunks of Pecans in the waffles, instead I got whole pecans. This poor balance between waffle and nut made the thing barely edible. The hash browns my sister ordered were clearly frozen and lacked any distinguishable flavor besides catsup. Even though it was 10 am, the restaurant ran out of steak and eggs. The service was friendly and prompt. It was family friendly, although there didn't seem to be a lot of room for larger groups. If your on a budget, you can eat here for cheap, but it will taste that way too. read more

I've been having breakfast here for several years. From the start I was hooked on the Popeye skillet, but really found that the Mexican style dishes are my favorite: Locomotion, La Bomba, No Way Jose...Staff and servers are friendly and attentive. Happy to have this as my Batavia staple. read more

Nothing else compares for breakfast food! We have tried so many other places, but the food is never as good as it is at Daddio's every time. The only reason they didn't get the fifth star from me is that since the kitchen is in the front of the house, you go home smelling like the food for the rest of the day. The wait staff is very rude here, the owners are also bullies and their food is not cooked well. The diner itself is dirty and if you take a peek back behind the front to the rest of the kitchen you will be repulsed by how it is taken care of. read more

From the time this diner opened as Kathy's Riverwalk Diner and just about every Sunday for the next 11 years as it became Daddios Diner, we have loved every single brunch without exception. We have recently moved to another state and have yet to find the small town ambience of this cozy and super friendly diner with awesome service and hot-off-the-grill delicious meals. The crowd lining up for a table on Sunday mornings speaks to their popularity and the speedy and attentive service is well worth the wait. In fact, we have sometimes been served our meal less than five minutes after ordering. We sure do miss our friends and our breakfasts at Daddios! read more

I've been here plenty of times, usually it is great food and great value, however I think the economy has taken it's toll. I feel like the last few times I've been in there they've "nickel and dimed" me excessively. One time I asked for a pancake instead of toast: $1.95 up charge. The pancakes are good but not that good. Today I went in for lunch, asked for a cup of chili instead of soup: $1.00 up charge... asked for cheese and onion on the chili: $1.00 up charge - for a pinch of shredded cheese sliced onion. For that price the cheese better have been made from the golden calf's milk. Overall the sour taste left in my mouth is from the server asking if I want cheese and onion, but they fail to say there will be an up charge to put it on there. Same goes for the pancake, I ask to have it instead of toast and they say "sure" but neglect to tell me it's going to be $1.95 extra. Point is, this is a diner not a fancy restaurant. For the prices they are charging you might as well go somewhere fancier- at almost $30 for a kid's lunch and 2 adult sandwiches with soup , this place has priced themselves out of my market for good. They are sweet people and best of luck to them in finding new customers who are willing to pay that price for typical diner food. read more

Worst Reuben Sandwich EVER! While the majority of my visits here have been fine my last was quite a disappointment. I ordered a simple Reuben Sandwich, what I received was a partially cooked greasy travesty with chewy stale homemade chips . It was overloaded with sauerkraut and had minimal Corned Beef, enough to make a half sandwich. Oddly enough that is where it all was, on one half of the sandwich. To make matters worse, the meat was grey in color . Things seem to have taken a turn for the worse here as the quality of food is not what it once was. As a local I wish them all the best but recommend they step up their game as word is travelling about the decline. read more

This is my first review on this site and have to say that it is an honor to say it's Daddio's. The family run business has very fresh, fast, and hot American food. My first experience was the crab cakes and just moving from the East Coast, they had more crab then ones I have had in a long time. The staff is friendly and quick. On Sunday morning three of us went to Daddio's. It was, as always, a good experience. I have been going there for years and have yet to have a bad meal. Sunday was no exception. We sat at the counter, which is my favorite spot. Since it has become Daddio's it has added a lot of memorabilia from the 50's and 60's. Finding the different items helps pass the time until the food gets there. The food was wonderful. Lots of food, lots of flavor. The service is usually top notch, which is also a big plus. There is something about going to a place that knows what it is supposed to do and then does it....every time. No doubt, we will be back. read more

The waitresses are really nice people. The owner and food not at all. The owner was awful to my young daughter who worked for him as a waitress and clearing tables. May still report it to the police. I know from talking with patrons that they really appreciated the service my daughter privided. We try to support local establishments and there are many others around our area.
