I have recently moved back to Spring Branch and love all the taco trucks and Vietnamese places but the area was missing good pizza. At least until I discovered Daddyo's on Gessner north of Hammerly by the HEB! The best pizza I have had since I moved back to Houston. Within the last two years their pizza (Lucky Seven) has gone from great to second rate. The Canadian bacon is almost non existent, the pepperoni is so thin its dried out once cooked, the amount of cheese is almost half and this last time the crust was so thin it was disgraceful. I swear they have gutted this pizza ingredients to the bone and now it is not worth the money. It seem with every staff change the quality just got worst and worst. What happened?? Trying to increase profit at the expense offering quality. I have been back several time and I am disappointed every time. Poor service. Good food. The young ladies at the register act put out and as if they don't want to be there. They need to work on better work ethics. not dressing as if they crawled out of bed. And try to be friendlier with customers. I've watched them with others while I wait. Seen customers blow up at them. Not good. And Keep your opinions of customers outside of work. If I could give this restaurant a minus rating....I would certainly do it!! Of ALL the super fine restaurants in Houston, I would rate this at the very bottom....in fact, I wouldn't even place them on the list!!! My lady friend and I ordered Hot Wings, Salads, and two different styles of Spaghetti. We also ordered two (2) drinks from the cooler. My friend chose bottled water and requested a piece of lemon...which is a "normal" request in most restaurants, but was told that lemon was not available along with no glasses or ice. I don't think after being charged $1.99 each, asking for a glass, lemon and ice is certainly not asking for too much (I would also add that the drink cooler needed to be adjusted for a lower temp.). The first item brought to us was our salads...in "lidded" plastic containers, and one "little" serving of salad dressing in a very small plastic cup that was stuffed into the closed salad container. We were eating "in" and certainly not expecting the salads packed "to go"! At $3.99 each for a "side" salad...the price, in my opinion, is way-y-y out of line! My friend ordered Chicken Parmesean ($8.99)...and it was served in a tinfoil plate much like the plates you might purchase a frozen cheese cake from your local market. I ordered Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce ($6.99) served in the same style tinfoil plate as my friends. Were we being served our meals in a "to go" manner? It became very obvious that we were!! What ever happened to ceramic plates? Finally, our 10 pc. Hot Wings ($10.99) arrived in the same "to go" manner...and it was obvious to both of us these wings were pre-cooked and then served...not anywhere like normal hot wings are served at other establishments. After viewing all this "to go" food....we both decided to request our meal be placed in a paper bag to take home and eat it as we had expected to receive it inside the restaurant. We put our drinks in a glass w/ ice, spaghetti on ceramic dishes, and the wings in a dish with a side bowl to dispose of the bones in a civilized manner. I was given a bill for $42.14 which I paid with my card...and the receipt had a place for me to add a "Tip"....are they kidding? The only "tip" I would offer is...re-think how "dining room" orders are to be served. Do people tip at McDonald's, Jack-in-the-Box, or What-a-burger??? This establishment is nothing more than a "to go" fast food establishment....certainly not a dine-in "restaurant"....and at $45.14 (yes, I broke weak and gave a smaller than normal tip) I will NEVER return again! The current photos are NOT anything like the manner in which our meals were served! Take my advice ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more

Great customer service. Very friendly. Pizza was pretty good and definitely well priced (well lunch special) I had a Gyro pizza and Ceasar salad. Pizza is as good as if not slightly better than framchises like domino's or pizza hut. Oh pizza didn't give me heartburn which is an unusually pleasant surprise. read more

Having spent three weeks here in Houston and having eaten one decent meal here in all that time, I have come to the following conclusions: A. Houston is definitely not, probably never has been, and definitely never will be, the culinary capital of America. B. The palates of Texans are not as refined as most other Americans. (trying to be polite here) C. There are not truth in advertising laws in Texas. Daddy-O's claims to serve "authentic New York style pizza". How this is possible is beyond me as the pizza here bears no resemblance whatsoever to New York style pizza. I ordered the margherita pizza which came with so much fresh basil that it looked like a spinach pie and basil was all that I could taste, all sitting atop a crust made of frozen dough. I ate one slice and left the rest of it Outrageously overpriced for what you get. The television in one corner tuned to an American station, and the television in the opposite corner tuned to a Mexican station didn't help matters any. I left there and drove 1/4 mile down the road to eat at a Popeye's...what does that tell you? On a positive note, the place is well decorated, and very clean, so go there to appreciate the decor and the cleanliness, but not to eat. Texans, do what you do best...make good barbecue and Mexican food, and stay away from any other attempts at haute-cuisine. read more

I quite enjoyed this restaurant! I was in Houston for work and ordered delivery. The entire menu is very affordable, I even had a hard time making the delivery minimum of $20, ha ha! We got the personal Margarita pizza, garlic bread, the meatball mozzarella sub, and the strawberry swirl cheesecake. Pizza: great, no complaints! Comes with Parmesan cheese for sprinkling. Meatball marinara Mozzarella sub: great! Comes with chips. Garlic bread: this item was just okay. Regular sandwich bread with garlic spread, comes with marinara for dipping. Cheesecake: I recommend the strawberry one! Is good. Delivery time took 23 minutes, which was fast. My entire order was $25, which is cheap for the amount of food we got. read more

My husband and I stopped for a quick bite to eat tonight, when we first arrived we were greeted immediately. There was a young girl at the counter who was patient as we perused the menu. The pizza came out with a confusions however they immediately took care of it, fixing the situation, as well as still gave us the first pizza. Their customers service is absolutely superb!! Very attentive and just over all a family welcoming experience! This will be our first go to for pizza! I decided to try this place out and boy do I regret it! I ordered an "eight inch" Philly cheesesteak and hot wings. The sub I had nowhere near a Philly cheesesteak sub. The bread of the Philly was toasted, but it seems it was a cover up for how stale and hard it was. The sub was dry and there was only enough meat for a philly approximately three inches long, and not eight. I closed the whole sub and could not see a piece of meat. I've never heard of being able to close a Philly cheesesteak sub. It should be against the law for us customers to be able to do this! As for the flavor of the philly, S-A-L-T-Y!!!This was all I tasted because there was not a lot of grilled onions, bell peppers, and nor any type of sauce or juices on the bread. Daddy-o's Pizza has been on the downhill slide the last couple of years. They used to be amazing - delicious food and good service. Their pizzas are still good, but they consistently have delivery problems - "we only have one delivery guy today," "we can't deliver today until 4:00," "we're only doing pick-up orders today," etc. Every single time I call it's one excuse or another. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our office was offered a free pizza to try as we are preparing on holding some events and he was trying to earn our business. We had agreed to have the pizza delivered between 12 and 12:30. I informed my staff that we would be trying there pizza and not to go to lunch. I called them at 1 to ask where our pizza was and he informed me that they had cancelled out order because the gentleman who promised us the pizza was not sure if I was going to be onsite. After calling to confirm the order they did not have the decency to call my staff or myself to let us know the order was being cancelled. The staff member I spoke with was very rude. I explained that this was no way to do business and he stated that he didn't care what we thought and if I thought he was rude then he will never deliver pizzas to us again. I work the weekends, and I order a pizza every Sunday - I am never disappointed- The "Lucky 7" is my favorite, and sometimes I order garlic. The bread is not too thin or thick- so there is plenty of room in my stomach for 3-4 pieces. The flavor of the sauce is so good that I don't want to stop at 2 pieces.
