OMG!!! Today, 9/1/2024, was my 1st time eating here at Daddy Pops Diner in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. I am so Grateful that I found this Diner because 1) the Service is Outstanding!! Claudia was my Waitress and she was so Kind, Friendly, Helpful and most of all very Patient. I say this because being my 1st time here I had a ton of questions about all the different items on their Menu, and there were Soooo Many Yummy Choices to choose from and I had a hard time making a decision. I ended up ordering a Veggie Lover's Omelette with Homefries with Onions and a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese to start. Then I ended up ordering a side of sausage links, too. Which brings me to reason number 2) why this Diner is the BEST DINER I EVER ATE AT!!! As you may know, this establishment was featured on Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives. We stopped in looking for an all American diner experience (on the 4th of July no less) and were not disappointed. Our server was really sweet and we enjoyed the food - solid, satisfying comfort food. Everyone in our party ordered off of the breakfast menu. There was a small wait for a seat (the diner is literally inside of a trailer so there isn't much room) but we didn't have to wait too long. Ill be honest..... Not really sure what the hype is all about with this place. Someone told me they made the news. But Im wondering for what reason? Sub-par food? Im a breakfast JUNKIE. Like ya'll don't even know...I could eat breakfast any meal any day. And I had it here and it tasted average. This place is so tiny. Which is fine. I get it. Its a mom and pop place. But when you walk in, you have to wait for people to get up and leave and THEN someone acknowledges you. I observed several persons walk in the entry way here and all of them were equally confused about how to be seated. The area to wait was so small and crammed. I was pescatarian for a long time and all I ordered at diners were tuna melts. I've tried many in different diners and states, but this place had the best tuna melt I ever had. The tuna was soft and flavorful. The bread was crispy and soft on the inside. The cheese was the perfect salty and melt that you'd dream of. Usually- a favorite for my family. Today- we seated right away and were brought drinks right away- but then waited 10 minutes for our waitress to even come over. Finally- we order- and then we wait no less than 30 minutes for our food. Probably closer to 40. In that time- my husband was offered a refill on his coffee NO LESS THAN 10 times- and I wasn't offered a refill for my soda once- even when my cup was empty. When I asked- my waitress literally walked away and forgot and hung out up front and chatted. We had to ask someone else. We split the banana walnut pancakes- which happened to have pieces of onion in them. We also split a piece of scrapple that was undercooked on the thicker side- basically inedible. Our son's food was fine. We also had to ask for butter and syrup for the pancakes. We were there for 1.5 hours for food that was basically not good- with far less than par service. read more

Tried the banana walnut pancakes with chocolate chips and it was so good. Also tried the blueberry macadamia but and they were good but I preferred my banana choc walnut. Bacon was super thin but good I guess. Beans tasted like they came straight from a can which was a bit of a bummer but rest of the meal made up for it. read more

Was in the area for work from TX and just happened to see DaddyPops on the Food Network one evening in my hotel and decided I had to give it a try, especially when I saw that they were known for the local staple "scrapple." Now I can't tell you if the scrapple here is better than anywhere else, because it was the first, and only time that I have had it... but I can tell you that it was delicious and I would go back to get it again and again. Their homefries were also some of the best that I have ever had. I am not one to eat breakfast often, but DaddyPops could easily change my mind on that. I am always a little skeptical trying a new restaurant as it's always a mystery of if it'll be a good, bad or an indifferent experience. My experience at Daddypops fell between good and indifferent. I ordered out the french toast with eggs and sausage, and a side order of homefries as well. The items are decently priced and tastes great. I don't think they have a bathroom for customers since I didn't see one but I didn't ask the staff. Service was functional, not particularly warm or friendly but efficient and that's good enough for me. Total waste of money. I don't understand what is this trend in the Filthadelphia area diners to use 3/4 days old bread to make toast. Other than being cheap I really don't get it. This classic diner is adorned with a plethora of knick knacks that would seem out of place anywhere except for a diner. The restaurant is small with several booths along the outer walls and a small counter just outside the kitchen. There was a wait but we managed to grab (2) seats at the counter as most of the other groups were larger and needed a booth. I was excited to try this little breakfast spot out. Parking was extremely limited as was the booth availability on a chilly Saturday morning. Me and Matty took two bar seats and ordered java and water. One server took our beverage order and another took our food order. I got the pick 2 with scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon an sausage and Matt opted for a buffalo chicken wrap. It took about 35 minutes for a food to come out. On two separate occasions our server came out to ask matt a question. 15 minutes in she asked if chicken fingers were okay in the wrap and five minutes later she asked if he wanted bleu cheese. Once the review said the triple D's showed up here, I just had to come. So here is my review I Ordered the Greek Omelet with a side of bacon and scrapple. I'm on a no carb paleo diet and only wanted to taste the scrapple. The omelet comes with home fries and toast and they were not accommodating on the price after omitting the HF and Toast..not even giving a break on the sides...that's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. The omelet was nice and fresh, the bacon crisp enough and the scrapple was tasty!!! This place has been around for as long as I can remember. It has a basic breakfast and lunch menu with a few interesting specials. The pancakes are really good. They are moist yet fluffy and the taste is reminiscent of a cinnamon doughnut. The Greek omelette contains spinach, tomato and feta cheese. It was cooked perfectly (not overdone). The home fries were nicely browned which I love; however, the edges were hard and difficult to chew. Service is on the slow side, so be patient, but you will eventually get what you need. Finally made it here. We have driven by this place for 15 years. First it was always smoky, then packed. This time we were able to get in. The food was typical dinner food. It hit the spot with what we were looking for. The Daddypop duo for a breakfast was very filling. The French toast was good, the sausage was excellent. The hot Rueben was also good. The corned beef was excellent! There was a bit too much Russian Dressing on it that distracted a bit from the sandwich. The fries were pretty good but could have been hotter. The service was just ok. Came here with a friend for lunch after seeing it featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It's a tiny diner with really strange decor including barber chairs at each end of the bar for extra seating. The menu is compact, how I like it, and it seems that their "flapjacks" are really well known. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast so I got an egg salad sandwich which tasted like an average, everyday egg salad sandwich. My friend had the Italian sausage sandwich he really enjoyed. However, the best part of the whole meal was our desert. It wasn't on the menu, but when we told the waitress that we wanted something sweet she knew exactly what we wanted: fried Oreos! I never had them before but they were delicious. They Were warm and topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream and were jus perfect. We got three or four of them for $2.99. Not too shabby. Friggin yum!!! Loved this place. From the great 50-60's feel of the diner to the music to the food and great wait staff! Other reviews arn't kidding. You can have a wait for sure if you get here too late. It's small inside... We got there early like 9:30 and waited for about 10 minutes for a table. By the time we sat down there was a good 15 people in line. Now they get to you and serve you food fast so they keep things rolling for sure. I can't say enough about what a fun place this was to go. Being from Texas I never get that diner experience and let me say again I LOVE IT! Coffee- excellent! Biscuits and gravy- yummies! Home fries - perfection! Waitress/ awesomeness! Hell even the guy we waited in line next to was great... Gave us some history about the place and town. I just smiled ear to ear the whole time. So yes it's a must go! read more

Been here many times and definitely a fan. Its a very cute old school type of dinner. Place is pretty small, cash only and if you are coming early in the morning, be prepared to wait in line outside. Very very reasonably priced menu. Only been here for breakfast, can't comment on their lunch, but breakfast food is very very good. AMAZING home friends, omelets and sides. Highly recommend their grilled kielbasa, western omelets, bacon, and onions in home fries. This place is dripping with soul and all their dishes that I've had are infused with it. This is what breakfast should always be like. Cute little diner (small space, be prepared to wait), with huge portions at amazing prices and all served with a smile. This is the type of diner that has regulars that sit around for hours over their eggs and coffee. And they'll also wait for you to finish eating if you are in "their spot." I had the flapjacks with coconut syrup (part of the daily special), bacon and coffee. There were 3 flapjacks, each the size of a plate and a generous serving of bacon. All for under $11. The flapjacks came home with me and fed me for the next two days. Also of note is the baked bean sides and the home fries--definitely get the homefries! Stopped in for breakfast this morning after having read reviews of this place and seeing that it had been on Diner's Drive/ins and Dives. For a Monday morning, it was pretty busy with no available booths, so we opted for immediate seating at the counter. It took several minutes longer than I would have expected to be given menus, and the waitress was a little abrupt and seemed a bit unfriendly (though she did warm up a little bit later on). I ordered a short stack of pancakes with some egg whites and the kielbasa. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelette with toast and home fries. The food was brought out pretty fast and was nice and hot. The portions were very big. My pancakes, eggs and kielbasa were really good. Especially the kielbasa! It was amazing. My husband loved his omelette and was happy that they were really generous with the cheese. The potatoes were nice and crisp. The only thing that could have been better, I think, would be if they served better syrup with their pancakes. It was just prepackaged single serve containers of kraft syrup. Real maple syrup or even just a carafe of heated syrup would have been nice. Overall though this was a great breakfast and we both agreed that we would love to eat there again if we are ever passing through the area again. read more

What has happened to Daddypops. I have been going here for years. It used to be fantastic. We had no greeting at all the servers actually avoided us. The oj tasted like vinegar! We waited for our toast for meal, my husbands never came I asked the third time for mine it was hard, cold, covered in cold butter bc it was just sitting there. I could here cook yelling at our server and our server was just "out of it" if you know what I mean. I still gave her 5 bucks cause I felt bad but I will never go back again!
