I've see Dae Bak plenty of times but I thought it was another place that served Korean pub food. I saw a clip for it during MHAFW and that Momma Song is behind it, I had to come and support. Needless to say, I am adding Dae Bak to my Korean food rotation. The interior is very pub like atmosphere. If you're lucky, you can be seated in like a private booth area which is really nice. They were actually quite busy when we went. Props to the waitress handling the floor on her own during lunchtime on a Saturday. The food was very good. The MHAFW special was such a good deal: japchae, wings, and tteokboki for $20. We also ordered the bulgogi jeongol which tasted like sukiyaki. It was so good and shareable between 4 people. There was so much meat in the dish so $45 was worth your money. I also ordered the someori gukbap since I love a good Korean soup. Super flavorful. The wings were so good. They have such a nice crunch that's hard to find. Definitely will be back to try the budaejigae. read more

Went here for the last day of Mile High Asian Food Week. In regards to everything, we got: japchae, cheesy tteokbokki, 6 pc fried chicken, and yukgaejang. The food definitely tastes homemade and I enjoyed it, but my mom's cooking still has my heart. My favorite part was the yukgaejang because it was loaded with meat! The japchae was pretty standard, the tteokbokki was a great texture, the chicken was crispy but not as light as I had hoped. We were here at 8 PM on a Sunday night. It wasn't very busy and service was fast. For a while, we were the only ones there. It's fun in there with writing everyone on the walls and tarp that is hung up/ I definitely think this could be a fun place to come and drink while hanging out with friends. Apparently the Dae Bak menu was condensed recently, but I love the small number of options. I came here with my friend, and we each ordered soup then chicken wings to share. I got the Dogani Tang (beef tendon) and she got the Yukgae Jang (spicy shredded beef). Both broths were phenomenal. Loved the portion of tendon. The sides (kimchi, radish, etc.) were delicious. The whole experience felt authentic, especially after the same friend and I were in Korea two years ago. I'd love to try some of the other soups in the future - perfect for cold nights. Stopped by on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded. We ordered the someori gukbap, budaejjigae, and chicken wings and honestly everything was delicious! The someori gukbap had a clear, light broth that was so comforting and warming. The budaejjigae was super hearty a bit spicy with tons of meat and ramen. The chicken wings were extra crispy and came with a sweet spicy sauce. The staff was also incredibly kind and welcoming. Another impromptu Dinner evening with my friend, who is willing to drive from Lone Tree just to have her Korean Dinner fix. Since this establishment opened a few weeks ago, I decide to bring my friend here. This establishment used to be some restaurant in which I cannot recall the name or the cuisine that they offer. In terms of the décor its weird. With those Roman Columns and graffiti that you can doodle, if you want... In terms of the Menu, they offer several variety. We ordered and shared the following items : * Ttuk-Bokki ($19.99) * Ai-Tang (Fish Roe Soup) ($14.99) * LA Galbi ($25.99) * Extra Noodles ($2) Since I don't feel like cooking at our table, I ask the kitchen to cook the LA Galbi. For now, its 3 stars... Limited options of bachan given to our table. First and foremost the Ttuk-Bokki is a little on a sweeter side for my palate. In the Ttuk-Bokki there are plenty of rice cakes. They also include the glass noodles at the bottom of the Ttuk-Bokki broth, which was a surprised for my friend, and she likes it a lot. She even ask the staff, if we could have more Glass Noodles, and he obliged. Yes you have to pay extra for those additional Glass Noodles. In the Ttuk-Bokki they include 2 hard boiled eggs. For this Ttuk-Bokki, PORTION is generous, you can feed like 4 people for this dish alone. The Fish Roe are huge and they do not skimp the portion of those. On top of the Fish Roe soup, they put big slices of Tofu. The taste of the soup is doable. Maybe next time, I will ask if they could make this more spicier etc. The LA Galbi is doable. I like it, though its not mind blowing LA Galbi. At least another restaurant I can find LA Galbi in which they don't mind cooking it in their kitchen. Sometimes, I would leave the cooking for the kitchen to do, rather than I do the cooking. In terms of service, they are OK. May return when needed though I cannot deny there are other items in their menu that peek my interest. This recent visit was on a Friday evening sometime at the end of October 2017. Dae Bak has been taken over by the owners of Olleh from 2 doors down on the same strip mall. I come here for their pork soup, beef soup, beef blood soup and fried chicken. Usually if I'm by myself, I'd come here for pork soup. It's really good for cold days, or if you're not feeling well. They'd provide some add-ins for the soup options, so I'd always put a ton of chives, a small scoop of red chili paste, and maybe a little bit of jalapenos if I'm feeling up for it. But it goes great with the side dishes they have, and they also have beers and other alcoholic beverages if you want that with your meal, or you can always chimaek it up with fried chicken and beer. I actually enjoy the fried chicken here better than the Rice chicken place near Snowl. This place there are different side dishes (banchan) and also other options to enjoy, where the rice chicken really just has chicken, beer and tteokbokki...nothing wrong with that, but just a personal preference. The food here overall is great. The fried chicken was on point, the beef bulgulgi hot pot was delicious but it was a little sweet for me, side dishes were generously given and tasty! You know the fried chicken was freshly made because of the wait, which was about 20 min but well worth it. I'd probably be back again for lunch! In comparison, the atmosphere, the music is more family oriented in comparison to funny plus. The price point is about the same though. The Bulgogi was amazing! I came with my partner around 4pm on a Saturday and we were the only people there. Most of the menu was in Korean with some items also in English but the waitress explained everything on the menu and told us a lot of items off the menu as well. We tried to order two bulgogi plates and a soup but the waitress told us that was too much food so we both got the bulgogi plate. He waitress' recommendation was a good one as the bulgogi plate was huge! I'm a big guy and I eat a lot and I couldn't finish the plate of bulgogi, rice, and cabbage salad. The meal also came with several appetizers including kimchi, radish, and spicy bean sprouts. My partner has a nut allergy and they were careful to let us know what had or didn't have nuts. The budae Jjigae was like a bowl of flavorless salt.. this is a dish that is usually impossible to screw up. The bulgogi was tough and really chewy. Lacked any flavor. They must have cooked on a crowded pan where the meat just steams and doesn't get a chance to carmelize. Rookie mistake by the kitchen. Very cool place, it's a total hole in the wall, but I love that about these kind of restaurants. It's got a unique ambiance to it that you don't really see in Denver and throws you off when you first come in. The waitress is very pleasant and enjoyable, she made sure we were happy with what we got! And served us very well at that. They have the BEST Korean fried chicken. Other places are sorta meh but not here. They'll bring out everything for the bbq. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try the soups. I came here on a weekday to try this place out since it's just down the street from me and I've herd pretty decent reviews on this place. This can be a very tricky place to get to if you're not heading north on Parker Road, but it's in the same lot as Golden Saigon. Most of these places you don't expect too much frills with decor, but this is a pretty large space that can hold a big group of people. Their menus are still paper as I believe they are still ironing out what they permanently want on their menu. So, if you get the chance, I'd give them feedback so that they know what is good and what isn't. I liked that they kept the menu in sections and only have 5-7 choices in each category. It can be overwhelming sometimes looking at menus and deciding on what to eat. My friend and I decided on the bulgolgi hot pot to split (these are pretty large portions and meant for family style). Like another reviewer said, it wasn't exactly what we expected, but it was still very tasty. It was a bit sweet, but otherwise the clear noodles helped balance the flavor. The server explained that most of the hot pots came with noodles . This portion is probably good for 3 people. There was only one server and he was as helpful as he could be with all the tables he was serving. This place is a freaking hidden gem... I at least feel like it is, being that it only has 14 reviews. I'm a little perplexed... does no one know about this place? If you don't, you should. Finished work around 10 and really wanted any kind of Asian food. This was pretty much the only place open on a Sunday night. Last call for food is at midnight and they close at 1. Places open late = super convenient!! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is pretty big. Looks like a great place to throwback some soju and have a great time! We were greeted and seated right away. When we first looked at the menu, I was thinking everything seemed pretty expensive, but then I realized most of the items are family style. And thank god I realized that before we ordered (haha). We got the seafood hot pot and the calamari. Seafood hot pot is HUGE! My boyfriend and I barely finished half of it. We probably didn't need to order the calamari haha. It was so delicious with authentic Korean tastes. It was so spicy, but so tasty. It had lots of fresh vegetables and plenty of seafood including parts of a crab! The calamari was good, but a little bland. It was okay though because the sauce was flavorful. We have been to many Korean restaurants and this was the first time we were told we had to order it by a different name. So we asked if you could take it back and add the spicy sauce. This was my second time he's really cute and I was not disappointed! My friend ordered the beef bulogi and I order the half-and-half chicken. The waitress was kind however seemed to be extremely preoccupied with everything else, even though there were only 2 tables besides our own. The other tables were clearly her friends, which we had no problem with. However we needed water refills which we never received after pressing our table button and trying to capture someone's attention. The food took quite a bit longer then expected, but when received was delicious. My friend was able to eat his entire beef meal however the chicken consisted of 8 medium breasts and I had quite a bit of left overs! No complaints there! The most frustrating thing was getting the check, this took over half an hour! The inside was nicely decorated and had a fun wall where patrons drew and wrote all over, definitely a good place to enjoy a meal with a group of people. I was just hoping that this place would be my go-to for beer and decent Korean food... Unfortunately, it was far from it as of today. Being Saturday, I walked in like 5 minutes before 5pm thinking to avoid traffic. Nobody was inside. I was all alone and I was all alone when I walked out. The beer selection was very lacking. I believe they had Coors, Blue Moon, Bud, and something else. Stuff that won't cut it in any other "bar & grill". But I think they have a good selection of Korean liquor (ones that older Korean folks drink). The kimchee stew was on the subpar side at best. Ordered the fried squid thinking that it would be like Japanese tempura style, but they were just like onion rings except much harder. Tried one piece and didn't touch the rest. I was surprised, since Korean style fried squid is made the same way as Japanese style tempura. I've been here a few times with my family, and their food is actually pretty good. The atmosphere is very grimy, hole in the wall place feel and vibe, but the food doesn't disappoint. We always get fried chicken and my dad gets some sort of spicy stew, their food taste very much like what you would taste in a Korean restaurant in Korea. I always say my grandpa would like this place if he ever came and visited us. This place is def for more older crowd, despite being mostly run by young people. Lots of OG Koreans come here to hang out and drink soju, but you do see some young peeps from time to time every now and then. Def do come here if you are with a large group of people- they have a lot of seating area waiting to be filled up. Lots of tvs and good Korean music too. Well, my husband and I returned to this restaurant to try out the seafood hotpot. I am so disappointed in the lack of attention by the wait staff that I refuse to return. The wait staff were more interested in their phones and each other that they were too occupied to provide us with napkins eveafter repeatedly requesting them. Each time we have visited the place there has been only a few customers. Maybe the service and food need to be experienced in the light of day. But I think we will just to go to one of of our nearby favorites, Golden Saigon or home. read more
