Great Chinese dumpling spot! We visited during weekday lunch and were seated right away. The atmosphere was calm and chic, making for a really pleasant dining experience. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly--piping hot, just as it should be. Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. My personal favorite was the Firecracker dish--fried jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and imitation crab, paired with a really tasty sauce. My husband loved the shu mai. Wow, I was very impressed with this restaurant and will always come eat here. Last week was Denver restaurant week. My boyfriend wanted to check this place out so he took me so we could both try it for the first time. The restaurant is really well maintained from entry to sitting down. Everything is clean and organized. I really like the decor. It felt like we were in China. Our waitress was really nice and very small. I really liked the fountain wall that is in the entryway. We both chose items on the Denver restaurant week menu. I also chose one of the items off of the Denver restaurant week menu. Everything was delicious. We had the Fried Sesame Balls, Jumbo Crab Rangoons, Red Sea Chili Wontons, Beef Pancake Roll, Xiao Long Soup Bun, Pan Fried Pork Bun and Shao Mai. My favorite dish were the Red Sea Chili Wontons that were so savory. They were extremely slippery to grab with the chopsticks. The Pan Fried Pork Buns were excellent. We got the crab rangoon with crab, beef pancake roll, saho mai, fried sesame balls (mini), xiao long soup bun, Chinese broccoli, and an off-menu item (chicken feet). Chicken feet is a huge factor when deciding on eating dim sum for me. They said they had it, but is taking it off the menu eventually due to the demographics. Unfortunately, it tasted old (bad)? When walking in the double doors the ambiance catches you right away. The service was good, and multiple people came to deliver food. We got a quick run down of the menu and here is what we got: 1. Green Beans: I loved the crispy garlic and such an umami flavor. Whatever sauce they stir fry it in is amazing. 2. Red Chili Wontons: these honestly lacked a lot of flavor. Just felt like wontons and oil and lacked some saltiness. 3. Pork Buns with Crispy Bottom: these were very heavy on the dough. So after many resistances, my friends and I finally decided to give Nanas a try. I really wanted Nanas to be a traditional dimsum restaurant with carts and stuff because we need more in Colorado. But this is more of soup dumplings and the popular assortment of dimsum dumplings such as har gow. If anyone recommends Nanas as a Ding Tai Fung substitute, they are not your friend. It's an upscale dumpling place. It's definitely on the pricier end of things and you don't get a lot for the cost. It was hard to justify paying $15 for Chinese broccoli. I don't know if the changed things but we went with the Aurora location because the cost was cheaper than some of the Denver locations. Food is okay. Yum! I was craving soup dumplings and have been meaning to try this place. We got Chinese Brocolli, Crab Rangoons, Xiao Long Bao, and BBQ Buns. Everything was delicious and the food came out quick (6 PM on a Sunday). My favorite thing was the soup dumplings. They were so juicy and flavorful. I could have eaten so many of them. Will definitely have to check out happy hour one of these days. There's rangoons were standard, but the sauce that was served with them wasn't like your average sweet and sour sauce. My boyfriend really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for greens, so the broccoli was yummy as well, and a decent amount for the price (we even took some home). The BBQ buns were fluffy and sweet. Not my go to at dim sum, but I enjoyed it: There's a good amount of space and seating, while also being clean. Service was also very kind and quick! Would definitely go here again. I heard great things about Nana's, so I was excited to finally try this place on my recent trip to Denver. Came to Nana's on a Wednesday evening around 5:30 PM and our party of 6 was immediately seated. It was also happy hour, so we got to get a few things from the happy hour menu. We ordered a bunch of items since we were gonna do family style. Everything was really good, but here are the dishes that stuck out: -Hot & sour dumpling soup: We got the soup too, but this one was definitely much better. The dumplings + soup were so tasty together. -Spicy cucumbers: The cucumbers were not soggy at all - there was still crunch. It had a kick to it but it was not too spicy. -Crab rangoons: Probably one of the best crab rangoons that I ever tried. They were huge and definitely packed with all of the crab. It came with sauce, but I feel like it didn't need it. Other ones worth mention are the thumbings and XLB. Definitely a good place to eat at and do family style. I have heard good things about this place, but unfortunately, the dumplings were not that up to par..the skin of the shrimp dumplings felt grainy instead of chewy and soft, and it lacked some distinct flavor profiles you would expect with dumplings. We came here to try Nana's Lunch for 2 Special that is offered Monday thru Friday 11AM-2PM for $29.95. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall with free parking. The inside is modern & comfortable with traditional Chinese touches. The place features a beautiful water display & a window into the kitchen where you could see the cooks. Service was good & very attentive. There are six locations on the Front Range & one in NY, with more locations to come. From the Lunch Special menu you order one per category. We ordered Veggie Egg Rolls for the appetizer, Pork & Mushroom Dumplings & Chicken LoMein. We each had a small plate with chopsticks...the dishes are to be shared. The first dish brought to the table was the Chicken LoMein. This dish was good but it needed more chicken & the portion was on the smaller size. The next dish were the dumplings. We had them fried, you order them either fried or steamed. This was my favorite dish. The dumplings were delightful - crispy & flavorful, stuffed full of pork & mushrooms. I have tried several times to visit Nana's Dim Sum at their original location on Tejon St in the Highlands but kept seeing long lines or wait times. I go past this location when coming from church. They opened at 12 noon. I arrived at 1215pm, they were already 1/2 full. My server, Princess P gave me a mark able menu (there was a grease pen in it's own little holder on the table). She said they have the full menu with photos. The place setting includes chopsticks, a soup spoon and a cute napkin. I got jasmine green tea in a stoneware pot. There was enough for 2 1/2 mugs. My first food was the Red Sea Chili Wontons. Well stuffed wontons with lots of chili oil. I added more chili oil from the condiments jar. Next was their Xiao Long Bao Buns. These were very hot. I asked Princess how to pick them up. She said to use the chopsticks to nudge them onto the soup spoon, then slurp. Worked well. I was planning to get their Mapo Tofu, but Princess said it comes in the same size bowl as the wontons, so large quantity for next time. I got the Pork Spareribs and fried Sesame Balls. The Spareribs were misleading. No actual ribs but actually chopped up. Very little meat with bone & gristle. It was too hot to pick up with my fingers. I told Princess. The Sesame Balls were excellent. Princess came back and said kitchen was planning to remove them from the menu soon. read more

Delicious! I've only had a couple of tastes of Nana's dumplings at a couple of YELP events, but going here for a meal was a fantastic treat. We went during their Happy Hour, so make sure to check their hours of operation as they do have a mid-day break on the weekdays. I was with a large group (yes, 6 or more is a large group and they will add in gratuity to your bill FYI), so we ordered a smattering of many tasty things off their menu. Worried about allergies? They have a menu that delineates what is in every item they make so you can check to make sure you can have the item - very helpful! My favorites of what we ordered were: BBQ buns, all of the dumplings--pan fried or steamed-- were yummy, and the stir-fried green beans. Many of these were on Happy Hour pricing, which does save you a few dollars. The place was absolutely crowded, so you know it has to be good. The servers worked hard to check in with us, bring us our food as it was ready, and helped clear our table so more food could be brought out. The place is really well designed and decorated with unique attributes to the cuisine and culture. Love and can't wait to go back for more. We went here after going to Daiso cause I've heard good things about it and that it's comparable to Din Tai Fung. We went when they opened at 12pm and man did this place fill up quickly. Within 15 mins, all the tables were full. The front counter and door situation could've been handled better. It was cramped and crowded with people filling in and they were a little slow in seating people sincd it got crowded real quickly but we did get seated within 5 mins. The interior is nice, clean, and modern. Definitely enjoyed the vine they were going for. We got sat in the corner next to a pole so I think it was easy to overlook us but thankfully it didn't take super long to try to flag our server down. Our server was super nice and explained everything for us and said the prices on the menu weren't accurate and to scan the QR code to see pictures with the correct pricing which is weird since they give you a menu regardless but not a big deal. We ordered Xiao long bao $11.95, pan fried pork buns $14.95, pan fried thumblings $12.95, honey chicken feet $6.95, and chicken lomein $17.95. The dim sum items are made fresh to order so the lomein came out first. The lomein had good flavor but I feel like the sauce didn't stick to the spaghetti noodles that well and it was pretty oily. Also for $18 for 1 protein only, it's pretty pricey considering other fast food Chinese restaurants offer combo lomein for that price. Pan fried pork buns had good flavor but the fried dough reminded me too much of a shortbread so I got tired of it after 2 buns. The chicken feet were okay. Not for me since there's too many bones for me to enjoy it. The pan fried thumblings were so cute and also really good. The filling was delicious and the wrapper had a good balance of crisp and softness if that makes sense. The xiao long bao also had good flavor but 3 of them broke so they didn't have soup in them :( I'm not a fan of Xiao long bao for real cause it's usually all soft and the filling is meh but I kept reaching for these. TLDR: Overall pretty good. I did enjoy this MUCH more than Din Tai Fung (I think they are meh at best and very overhyped). I enjoyed the lomein and the thumblings the most. I've been meaning to check this place out and it truly lived up to my expectations. We were able to get a table for 2 pretty easily on a Wednesday evening. Our service was also sweet and explained to us how everything worked as it is similar to a dim sum order sheet place. We got the Oolong Old Fashioned and the Lychee Dynasty. The Old Fashioned was strong as one should be. The Lychee Dynasty was fine, the tequila was very dominant in the drink. The food was spectacular. My favorites were the dumplings! The Spicy Chicken Soup Dumplings were fantastic and savory with a kick. The Lork & Mushrooms dumplings were pan-fired as chosen by us and it was perfectly crispy. The filling was fantastic. I think it's in the restaurant's name for a reason. The dumplings were a standout. The Cabbage buns were fine. The buns were so soft and fluffy on the inside. I think this is a personal preference. I think the filling didn't really feel right for the soft buns, but the flavor was good. We also got the Honey Chicken feet. They were succulent and had a little heat to them! I visited on 8/19 for a togo order because they close at 2:30pm to get ready for the next shift. Understanding i was planning on eating in my car so i ordered Spicy chicken soup dumpling and Shrimp Dumplings. I thought the Restaurant looked beautiful. I was a little disappointed in the shrimp dumplings because it was literally a piece of shrimp inside a wrapper no seasoning. I did use the chili oil but it wasn't spicy (also wasn't told what sauce I had so I thought by look that they were all chili oil). The spicy chicken soup dumpling were also pretty bland and not spicy BUT still good. I would order them again. I would not get the shrimp dumplings again tho. Nana's Dim Sum & Dumplings was a treat! The place was packed on a Sunday at 7:00 pm which was pretty shocking to see. This restaurant is beautiful inside, they did a great job on that. There is a beautiful waterfall when you walk in. To start, we ordered the crab rangoons and the spicy cucumber salad. I enjoyed both of these dishes. The crab comes separate from the crab rangoons, but I liked that. My friend wasn't the biggest fan of the cucumbers, but I thought they were good and fresh. Now for our meal, we got the bok choy buns, which were DELICIOUS! Truly unique, and I loved them. We got the fried pork and chive dumplings, which were pretty good - although they didn't stand out to me. My favorite dish was the fried vegetable dumplings, they were super good. The filling was just like an egg roll (minus the meat). The bill was around $80 for two people, but we got to take some food home and we each got a beer. Nana's serves family style, and they have an allergen menu since one of our members had a fish allergy. Service was friendly and attentive. The Thumblings which are like deepfried xiaolaong bao are actually my favorite! Their spicy chicken is amazing too, very similar to Chongqing chicken, it's spicy savory and salty! The only downside is that the prices here are on the high side, so the price of dinner adds up very quickly. I would come back here but only for a special celebration. After being seated, we looked over the menu. 1 menu has an explanation and pricing of their food items, another is to mark what food you would like to order, and last one was for drinks. It was our first time there but our server didn't really great us with a warm welcome nor ask us if we needed any help understanding the menu or how it works. The table next to us had a wonderful server who took care of their customer with thorough explanation and even helpful tips. Below are the items we ordered: Spicy cucumber ($9.95) - loved the tongs it came with Red Sea chili wontons ($17.95) - alright Hot & sour soup ($6.95) - good flavor Fries sesame balls ($6.95) - good texture Xiao long soup bun ($11.95) - not enough. Only came with 6 Nanas specialty beef noodle soup ($17.95) - beef was tough The total came out kind of expensive with it being $77 for 2 people. The items are more expensive than typical dim sum / Chinese places and it also serves less quantity as well. Xiao long Bao usually comes in 10 but theirs only came with 6. We also had to ask for ginger to go with the Xiao long Bao. Our server wasn't around and the food was getting cold so we had asked another server if we could get some ginger but she held her hand up to my boyfriends face to motion him to stop or hold on while she fetched our server. I was taken aback at that behavior. A simple "yes let me get your server for you" would have sufficed. That same person would come back every now and then and we would lock eyes before she awkwardly took 1 place away from the table. They also got our food order wrong despite it being marked correctly in front of them on the menu. Overall the experience was okay. Service was subpar. Food was okay for the price.
