Yay for crossing off something from my bookmarks! But boo for not keeping notes on why I bookmarked it in the first place. Only after getting to the destination I remembered that I only wanted to try their french fries, since that's all the rave on the reviews. I felt kinda bad because I took a couple of friends here with me, for some reason I thought this was a diner instead of a "drive-in" but I blame Mr. Blonde Fieri for that mix-up. We all ordered the pastrami sandwich with either fries or onion rings as our sides. I thought everything was pretty good but nothing "wowed" me, not even the french fries. My favorite all-time french fry place closed down long time ago, anyone who grew up in the Valley remember Boardwalk Fries in the Northridge Mall??? *Sigh* I really miss that place. Daglas' fries are somewhat similar but can't replace Boardwalk Fries in my heart or in my tummy. If I had to rank just the pastrami meat alone compared to other places, it would be slightly above Oinkster but below Langer's Delicatessen and The Hat. But we all have our opinions right? Can't believe I never reviewed this one! I've been going here for years. Good service, quaint little eating area, bomb food! I've heard good things about their pastrami, the hot dogs & corn dogs are the business, but really it's all in the F.R.I.E.S!!!! even if you order a small- they'll hook you up with a full bag of em- good for like 3 people. I had a craving for a good burger and fries and was driving by Daglas and decided to try it. I ordered the pastrami burger and small fries. Drove home and split the food with my wife. Best burger since I don't know when. Also love the fries. We were both stuffed and still have another helping of fries leftover. I've been back twice in the last 10 days. Both times I ordered the double cheeseburger. Wow!! So great. I'm hooked on their hamburgers and fries. No one comes close. I will never drive by again without stopping. read more

Costs have increased everywhere due to the pandemic, but Daglas' increases are astronomical compared to its competitors. Over at The Hat in Simi Valley, they manage to serve a comparable (even better) pastrami sandwich for under $12... not $17.25 like at Daglas'. read more

"Every Day is Fry-Day" That's right, their fries are that amazing. Every year for my birthday lunch I will go next door to Cupid's hot dogs, get a couple of chili dogs, and a cup of chili, then i go next door to Daglas and get the amazing fries (small of course, the large is enough for 4-6 people). It's my favorite meal. Lately, I've been going straight to Daglas and eating some of the other items. So first, the burgers are incredible. If you want to remember what burgers tasted like when I was a kid in 80s, this is the spot. Delicious. But it not a massive hunk of meat like at Fatburger, it's the smaller patties, but the char flavor is outstanding. I sometimes get the pastrami cheeseburger if I'm feeling naughty. Other items I've tried that have been pretty damn good. First, the Corndog. Now that Hot Dog on a stick is gone, this is a nice substitute from time to time. I just happen to LOVE corn dogs!! Second, I tried the burrito, pretty damn tasty. I'm not saying it'll be my go to burrito spot, that is Poquito Mas, El Taco Llama, and of course Casa d' Tacos. But it's a nice little change up if you're not in the mood for a burger, and your kids are. I was lured out here by Eater LA. It was ranked the best burger in LA. It was a very good burger. If I lived in the Daglas neighborhood, I would frequent this place more often. Sadly, it was not the best burger in LA. It was well made and tasted good but lacked flavor or an ingredient that would transcend this burger over the highly rated burger joints in LA. A colleague brought me some french fries from here 3 years ago and I recall I thoroughly enjoyed them. Never knew where this place was. I've never noticed it on the street but intentionally set out for this place tonight. It was nice there's indoor dining as an option as it was a little breezy outside. CHILI CHEESE FRIES. Hands down some of the best I've had in the valley. A slight sweetness to them but the fries were perfectly seasoned and the chili was delicious plus I'm a huge fan of raw onions. BACON CHEESEBURGER. Bomb. I loved the shredded lettuce the crispy bacon and it was the perfect size. This place is simple and they've damn near perfected a great burger experience. I dont know how i have never seen this place on Yelp until today. The pastrami beats The Hat for sure. My friend and I got the same thing but one order with fries and one with onion rings. The onion rings beat out most places because they dont use trashy Penko. This place is an outstanding burger/sandwich place. The restaurant is not the nicest looking place but the employees, the owner and the food make up for that and then some. A must try place if your in the Valley. read more

I've been to Daglas twice so far. I'll probably check it out again in the future. The hot pastrami and the fries is probably what my order will consist of and those seem be the favorites here. The pastrami sandwich is 6'inch sandwich that comes with their pastrami, mustard, and pickles; there's a good amount of pastrami on that sandwich. Came here last week and ordered the hot dog with everything, the hot pastrami, and a small order of chili cheese fries to go. Friendly service, parking nearby, and quick service. One thing I did not like is the recipe for the chili. I find the chili to be a bit sweet for my liking but a friend has said the same thing as well. read more

As a kid I moved about a 2 minute walk away from Daglas 26 years ago and I have been coming here ever since (though live slightly further away now). They are my favorite French fries in the world. Well done + extra seasoning = amazing. The fries are 5 stars. But the prices have become outrageous. Like $26 for a pastrami sandwich combo? It's a good sandwich but certainly not $26 good. Might as well go to Brent's and get a vastly superior quality pastrami sandwich for about the same price ($24-26 with a side, no drink). Daglas is not in the same price point as Brent's but their prices appear to believe so. I Went to The Hat in Simi other day and their pastrami sandwich (not combo) is $12 and far closer to the Daglas quality -- actually very comparable sandwich to Daglas imo). The burgers are expensive, everything is, but a pastrami sandwich is what I'd normally order here. Going forward I'll just pick up a small French fry and that will be the totality of my order (and the small fry is not small) which is disappointing because the food is very good -- but picking up a pastrami sandwich from Daglas when can go to Brent's for about the same price can not in any way be justified. read more

They are expensive ($45) but my wife and I eat half tonight and the rest for lunch tomorrow.Same owner has been there for as long as I can remember. We came by today to buy our favorite pastrami sandwich. I ordered one only cause I was really craving pastrami. There was a guy in front us ordering also and when they told him the price of the pastrami he also got shocked!! Stop by here recently because I was in the area and was shocked to see how high the prices have gotten here. Used to come here all the time for the pastrami sandwich and french fries when I lived on this side of the valley. Obviously prices have gone up everywhere but the degree to which they've raised prices here is ridiculous. A pastrami sandwich and french fries here will run you $23 (25 with tax). For comparison a pastrami sandwich and fries and coleslaw at Brent's deli cost same but that is a sit-down restaurant with very high quality food. Pastrami sandwiches at holiday Burger and the hat are still $12 and they still are very large. With prices this high I can't afford to eat here anymore won't be returning. read more

Awesome! This place is awesome, it's your old school classic grilled burger with all the fixings. Their root beer floats are awesome with a big scoop of real ice cream. If you're feeling like tacos they are huge! Tons of meat with a nice spicy salsa on them. But the real reason that you go to Daglas is the fries. Omg they are amazing, big fat fries that are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned. Sometimes I go just for the fries and a shake. Classic order at the window burger place that's small but mighty. They're open and regulated for Covid19 for grub mhub, postmates and also for order and pickup at the window where they limit people in the waiting area to 6. It wasn't busy on a Monday at dinner time. I like this place because they're not stingy with their perfectly seasoned fries, the price is right, burgers / sandwiches are properly sized and, believe it or not, they have a healthy option with their grilled chicken sandwich. That's my favorite selection by far and is a reasonable size with all the dressings perfectly delivered. Happy they're still open and grilling and hope folks continue to promote this treasured valley stop so they can keep their doors open to serve the public. We wanted a good hamburger for dinner. We had salads all week so I asked Google. Best hamburger in the SFV? The top two results were in and out and Daglas on owensmouth near winnetka. We thought we would give Daglas a try. I remember a place when I was a kid called Douglas burgers with the same look. Hmm. This place is a bit run down and their dining area is still closed so we took our order home to eat it. It is expensive. Two full meals - a drink (no refills allowed) fries and a double burger was 28.00. that being said, My hamburger and fries were perfect. Great taste, good flavor, fresh meat, not greasy. They give you a good amount of pastrami too! The meal with fries or onion rings and a drink comes out to around $15. I hadn't had anything from Daglas in probably 12 years and my husband decided to stop here today for lunch. I remembered it being good, old-fashioned greasy burgers and fries, a little heavy but good. Not only was it not heavy but they have the BEST fries ever! The seasoning is so flavorful and the fries were a good texture, a little soft but still delish. Next time I think I'd ask for them well done but still amazing as is. So I saw this on one of the yelp e-mails about pastrami, so I got all excited to check this place out since it was soo close to home. So I've been dying to come here. I live down the street and I've heard nothing but good things . So my Girlfriend and I decided to check it out. So happy i did. I've heard their fries were amazing . They definitely didn't disappoint. My girlfriend got their grilled chicken sandwich and I got their double cheeseburger. Both were absolutely delicious. I love my hamburgers a little messy and it definitely was but the Patty tasted delicious and melted in your mouth. I'm not a huge fan of grilled chicken sandwiches but my Girlfriend loves them and so I tried it . It was very good as well, we got a side of their gyro sauce and MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD. I EVEN dipped my fries in it Ok back to their fries. I don't know what They season their fries with but it's AMAZING . probably one the best fries I've ever had.
