Yes, let's be honest, it's not Four Seasons with crystal chandeliers and bowties, it's a tiny run-down shack in SFV but it manages to serve the BEST French Fries I've ever tried in my life. Seriously, they own it. Double fried, perfectly seasoned, crunchy on the outside, soft inside, melting in your mouth goodness. Their burgers are also great, I can never finish them though because I always stuff myself with fries up to the point where I have to be carried to the car. read more

Daglas how I miss your two hander mouth watering burger! I miss my brown paper bag full of piping hot seasoned fries that you would spoil me with! I must get back to the San Fernando Valley...and fast! I miss this place, the best burger joint in Los Angeles hands down! Damn it! I am salivating at the thought of experiencing you in every way again! read more

The food was really good. We got two pastrami combos, one with fries and the other with onion rings. Nothing was greasy as others reviewer may have experienced. The pastrami sandwich was satisfying. The sides were abundant. The fries are better than the rings. The drink was a good size. Service was quick as well. My two combos came out to about $28. No refills and they charge for dips like ranch. Hard to be a regular there with my family with those prices. The food is good but the prices were unexpected. read more

When I think of going to Daglas, it's the same feeling I got when I would go to an ex girlfriends house to "chill". You know it's not a good idea & you will hate yourself afterwards. Guess what! You still go despite all the negatives lmao. Daglas is a essentially a hole in the wall joint that sits behind a small shopping center & in front of cupids. It not cool or hip. The interior is outdated, small, and just plain ugly. All of that doesn't matter how ever. Daglas is my guilty pleasure for a saucy burger and over seasoned delight they call fries. I came her with a friend & ordered a #2( double cheeseburger, soda, "small" fries) the priced totaled at $9.58. Who cares about the price. While Daglas is known for their French fries, I honestly love the double cheese burger. Something about the way they put the mustard and ketchup on the melting cheese to create this gooey goodness makes this burger a notch above the rest. They serve the burgers with thinly sliced lettuce strings that give a crunch but don't take away any of that meaty flavor. The patties are cooked to a perfect char every time.everything works like a combo attack on my tastebuds. That gooey goodness feels overwhelming for you??? Well neutralize it with these fries covered in seasoning salt.just to clarify, don't let the "small" sizing fool you. Chances are, you will not be able to finish your fries. Look I know this place is ugly & will give you the worst bathroom poops after lol. I get that and I accept it. I allow myself to eat here once every 6 months so my stomach can recover. I love this place & most people leave, get home, shit for 30 minutes, and go to sleep happy! Thank you butter & salt as well! Without you, this plate would probably suck! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a very long time. So I put it on my calendar and when the reminder came on, off to Daglas I go. I got the pastrami with fries. The pastrami was very good. The sandwich was filled with meat, pickles and mustard. I can eat this all day. The fries were good but a little too much seasoned salt for me. If I get fries next time, I will tell them no salt. read more

Daglas Drive In - Pastrami burger if you couldn't tell lol - Burgers Near Me - Winnetka, California

I went today and ordered a Chili Cheese fry for myself and a bacon burger combo for my daughter. I've been here before and I really enjoyed it. This time was a really bad experience. The chili cheese fry, which I never had before was horrible. It was covered in white uncooked unions. I had to peel a layer off and throw it away. There was barely any chili and the chili was not well made. I think of myself as a really flexible person when it comes to food, but this was really bad. I haven't written a review in over ten years and this compelled me to write one. My daughter had to throw away her fries Because they were so soggy. It's like they soaked them in water and placed them in a bag. The burger was 90% lettuce.. do I need to say more. We threw out food away and went to eat at cupids next door. Very little effort or thought was given to this meal. Also the food was cold when we received it. read more

This is the secret spot. if you want the most amazing fries, here is the place. I have been going here since i was a kid. easy, fast food, perfect for lunch. or dinner. The fries here are hand cut. and real. not from sysco in a bag frozen. When i was a kid we use to come here order 1 large fries. and when i say large i mean "large" Brown bag large. they are crispy and well seasoned. I have had almost everything, but the pastrami burger is my fav. real 100% beef burger with thinly sliced pastrami and the toppings. get the combo Small fries, pastrami burger, and soda! overall clean, and cheap. but quality and consistent Must try . close to winnetka bowl! read more

Haven't been here in ages (and then it was only once), but after unsuccessfully trying to go somewhere else, we ended up here. Shared the #1 Gyro Meal and the #2 Double Cheeseburger Meal. Gyro is a little too oversauced, but is filled with good quality meat. Totally worth the price. The cheeseburger has good, lean meat cooked over an open flame to help ensure great flavor and perfectly melted cheese. The fries were hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly; way too many of them, but hey, no complaints. Daglas isn't a place I would go to often, not loving this type of food, or having this much food. But if you're hungry, this is the place to go. read more

Daglas actually has a pretty good veggie burger. In fact, for a drive-in burger joint, this is now my favorite veggie burger, and I'll be coming back here often. I'm a big fan of onion rings, and seeing those on the menu I figured that I'd give them a try... that was a mistake. Not that the onion rings were bad, they were OK, but the fries... oh man it was torture watching everyone else at my table eat those fries! Don't make my mistake, get the fries, they are amazing! read more

I've driven by Daglas for YEARS without ever thinking of stopping by. Glad I did, based on its Yelp reviews! The funny thing is, I've never had their burger.. however, their gyro is EXCELLENT!!! And my mom LOVES their steak quesadilla. I've gotten steak quesadillas from a lot of other places, including much more pricier places (Sol y Luna was the most recent one) and she said Daglas' version is her favorite. Go figure. I usually phone in my order and pick it up. The fries do suffer a bit, but that's not against them, it's my fault for getting it to-go. But they're still dang tasty. So to sum up, try their gyro and quesadillas! And they're cheap!! read more

Best burger place in winnetka!!! Literally craving their double bacon cheeseburger often! They also are extremely generous on their portion of fries. A combo is more than enough for one person. I'm a local in winnetka and I always recommend Daglas to anyone who comes to visit me from out of town. Great service! Quality good! Awesome staff! read more

You will walk out of this place really full! The fries are the reason to go here, but I won't over-hype them further because it seems to already has happened. They are tasty, crispy and well seasoned. They give you enough for two. Their gyros are large and they have a lot of meat. Too much sauce and onions, but still worth a try. Their burgers are good. Not sure they are as good as what everyone is saying, but a place like this only stays around this long for one reason - people keep coming back. On my In-n-Out scale, In-n-Out being a 10, I would say this is a strong 7. read more

Is this Ruth's Chris? Wow!! $19.15 for a dbl cheeseburger combo. Hubby and I walked and walked out. It's actually hilarious! A burger Lunch for my hubby and I would have cost us over $40! You crazy Daglas? What world are you living in? No wonder the place is always empty. read more

Since writing this review, this has become our favorite local burger joint over the years. Yeah, I know I previously raved about the fries (and I still love their HUGE bag o' seasoned fries) and/or topped with chili, cheese and onions. But, I now crave their burgers. Everything under their nice fluffy buns - the tasty charbroiled meat, also - melted cheese, topped with crispy shredded lettuce, onions and tomato, somehow has a unique flavor I don't get from other burger places. While I love In-n-Out burgers, Daglas burgers don't leave me feeling like ate a 2 lb. stone, an hour later. Plus, I have a weakness for their corn dogs. read more

OK, went back to Daglas because of a hankering for those fries. I saw what they do to make these so great. They do not use a frozen dehydrated potato like fast food joints. They use a method that better restaurants do, blanching FRESH SLICED potatoes in the oil and letting them rest until they soften. They refry them on a per order basis to get them crispy and season them up. They are fantastic. I also got a burger and it tasted like it was cooked outdoors. Great charbroiled taste. This is a great place to eat at bargain prices without sacrificing taste! read more

I really had high hope for this place but I'm deeply disappointed. I thought it would be a gem to discover but-failed t impress. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with onions rings togo. The pastrami is dry and the bread is soggy. As for the onions rings, the crust was dry and bland I had to add some salt just to get some flavor. I'm willing to give this place another try but not anytime soon. read more

I use to go here for so many years for their pastrami and fries. Went back recently and couldn't believe the price for a pastrami sandwich was $17.20. They hiked up the price by like $6.00 I guess I wont be eating there anymore. That's too much!! read more

Overpriced af. For the price of what I ordered I could of got way better quality at a restaurant.

I love this place my parents school was right across from Daglas and they would go twice a week and I went here 1 month ago and I loved it

UGHHHH wish it wasn't SO unhealthy so I can come back! Discovered this gem when I was in high school a few years back. We would always come here after class. Fast forward to college and we still came here after class. Now...well we still come here. Its super cheap, and they give you loads of food. The fries-DROOL! The burgers-DROOL! Even the salads-DROOL! It does get busy, so if you want food to go, just call your order in. Be prepared to loosen your belt, and regret eating so much! Also make sure you have someone to hold you while you cry over how many calories you just consumed. read more

The Daglas Pastrami sandwich, a work of art. It's delicious! Shaved warm juicy pastrami, pickles, and yellow mustard on a soft roll. So simple but so very good. Rude short guy...making the fries and passing out orders. Politeness should be offered to everyone not just who he thinks is worthy.

Extremely overpriced. Neither the quality nor the proportion of the food reflects the ridiculous price. They have a very outdated menu on their website, in person the prices are almost double what they say online. I wouldn't recommend this location any of my friends or family, you get could easily get better food for less money elsewhere. read more

after a ridiculous day at work, in the ridiculous heat, i was ridiculously hungry i searched and searched yelp, narrowed down, brought up options, imagined what i should be craving, until i came across Daglas Drive In and noticed how high of a rating it had with so many reviews figured i look through the photos and first thing that caught my eyes were the fries..not the size or portions, but just that they looked so good! and then after reading some reviews and scouring the menu, realized this is a hotspot for a Pastrami Sandwich so this is where i went and that is what i ordered, a Pastrami sandwich,(with Swiss ) and small fries for $11..at first thought it was pricey..and then realized just how big this portion was and that i have half left for tomorrow the french fries were HUGE like honestly, why, for a small size, is the portion size so much? really think its just a waste, but good thing i don't throw away leftover food and keep it for another day lol overall though, i thought the fries were gunna mostly be soggy or not crispy, as the thick fries (thats what i call them, not skinny, not steak fries) are usually not that well fried...BUT THESE holy crap, almost every single fry was crispy, crunchy, and had the flavor of their super secret seasoning (cough seasoned salt cough) but still good! and the pastrami...first off, for charging .60 cents for cheese, at least put some more than 2 slices..but overall, the pastrami was lean, tasty, savory, good amount of mustard and pickles, fresh soft bread, and LOADED with pastrami!! it was a bit dry, usually like it really moist/juicy, but this was still very tasty i found another new indulgence spot! read more

Daglas Drive In - Pastrami Sandwich w/ Swiss; HUGE and delicious; and that is a SMALL portion of fries! yet almost all crispy and crunchy! - Burgers Near Me - Winnetka, California

Daglas has been around for quite some time. I've been here twice. once back in the day like 9 years ago and now again on Saturday 5/28/2016. This spot is more or those hole in the wall spots. Which I think are best for fatboy food. So I got a pastrami burger and a small chili cheese fries. My company got a pastrami fries combo. Now about the pastrami. It's rather chewy and not too flavorful. Almost watered down taste. The chili cheese fries... now I've had some chili cheese fries in the past. I'm fat. I know these things. But this chili was sweet. Like oddly sweet that didnt fair too well with the fries and cheese. It tasted weird. I really couldnt wrap my head around it. I had to toss most of it away. The burger was ehhhh. The patty should have been fried a little longer to give it more of a cooked taste rather than a bland meat taste. Honestly the only thing I would come back for are the fries. They are some of the best fries around. They remind me of Boardwalk fries that were in Northridge mall. So bomb. Sorry to say it though I dont think I'd be back here. If I do it would be for the fries and a chili dog from next door. Oh and parking is tight. Very tight. But you park next door behind Cupid's and walk over. read more

Pros: - pastrami sandwich (SO MUCH MEAT) - fries (salty and not greasy) - LARGE portions (you really get the bang for your buck) - ample seating (Daglas has really classed up over the years :) ) Cons: - serving sizes are a bit much (if you're not too hungry) Bottom line: Eat the pastrami with fries. Collapse from happiness and a food coma immediately afterward. read more

Tried Daglas out several years ago and remembered I enjoyed their food. I had the Pastrami Sandwich and fries. Portions for both were HUGE! I recently came back to try it out again and was not disappointed. Portions are still huge and food is great. I had the double cheeseburger this time around and it was a delicious super filing burger. Love how you can taste the charbroil grill on the burger. It's a simple burger with your standard ingredients yet super flavorful. Their fries are what they are known for and wow are they good. Well seasoned and their regular size is enough to feed 2-3 people. It's a bit salty so just watch your intake on that. This isn't a healthy meal obviously but definitely worth the calories once in a while. read more

Came by last week with Philip G. for dinner. Good thing we came at that time, because right after us a whole family or maybe 2 that knew each other came in and pretty much took over about 4-5 inside the covered eating area. Sometimes I ask myself why large groups of people choose to eat at smaller establishments, it impedes the service with all the other patrons of the restaurant. Alas I digress, on to the food. Our order: -Large Chili Chese Fries (w/ onions) Yummy, I was definitely hesitant to dig in cuz of all the onions, but luckily they were only sprinkled on top, so I was able to enjoy some fries w/o too much onion on them. Philip G, loves him some onion so when they asked if we wanted some I said ok. -Pastrami burger +bacon Yes I know, total indulgence but we don't eat like this everyday so as long as it's in moderation right? The burger was good, nice and juicy and saucy! So saucy that it almost got all over my pants, luckily I saw it and grabbed some napkins asap! *Parking- they have a very small lot directly behind their restaurant, but if you drive just a little more they share the lot with Cupids and you can walk right over. If you're craving something fast, greasy, and fatty you've found the place! read more

Nice staff, easy to order, and they prepare your to-go order efficiently. If I'd looked at the Yelp photos, the pastrami sandwich should have been my order... but I didn't. Wasn't really a fan of the two thin patties on the ¼ lb. cheeseburger. Didn't taste fresh at all. I didn't find the fries to be a good quality, either. And chili and cheese on top seemed overly-processed. I couldn't take more than two bites of this huge order. Guess I ordered wrong. read more

Friend and I went to have a pastrami sandwich until we saw the price at this neighborhood GREASY SPOON. $19.10 for a sandwich!! We passed because this place is FAR from the quality of The Hat. Instead we ordered a couple of cheeseburgers with fries and drinks. We are here to report we found THE WORST burgers: thin frozen meat that you wouldn't feed your dog, they don't ask you what you want on it you just get it, a mountain of over salted soggy fries and syrupy flat cola. Trust what was a decent place a couple years ago is a PASS PASS PASS now. I would hit the bowling alley and likely be safer than EVER return to this unfriendly, disinterested place again. They are way past the time of needing to close up shop. read more

Your basic old style hamburger stand. Large portions and decent flavor. Ok if you are craving a large hamburger.

Best fries in the valley, bar none. The small or large bag is more than enough. Perfect seasoning and something about fries in a brown paper bag takes me back to when I was a kid. I've enjoyed everything on their menu and the employees have always had a smile to offer. Enjoy every experience I've had there and always look forward to the next. read more

$16 for a small cheese fries and a chili cheese burger is a bit rich. I asked for two sides of thousand island and grilled onions, which cost me about $3 extra. Didn't realize it until I glanced at the receipt. I figured I wasn't in for more than $12 of damage so I didn't pay attention to the final total until I was charged. Ouch. Not a good start. Burger is solid. No complaints. They use shredded lettuce, which adds a unique texture. Not remarkable overall. Fries are crispy and more akin to Rally's seasoned fries than regular fries, but with a different flavor. Over salted. Chili is flavorful and not full of whole beans, which is a plus. All told, I wasn't blown away by anything except the high cost. read more
