    * Dahlia's has our Hearts! * This review is long overdue! Dahlia's has quickly become an absolute staple for me and my extended family. Breakfast, lunch or dinner - they have never let us down. They have a massive menu so there's something for every single craving. Nestled in Northwest Reno, we gladly make that trek every single time. The Vibes: Tucked in a great little shopping center with plenty of parking. The inside is beautifully decorated with stunning murals and gorgeous artisanal items. The Superstars (Shoutout to Carlos!): The staff is the heartbeat of this place. Always warm and welcoming. We came in on a super busy Sunday afternoon and were lucky enough to be served by Carlos. He's taken care of us multiple times now and always goes above and beyond with the best customer service. The Food: They start you off with a complimentary mini sope to get your taste buds excited. For the main event, my Dad and I ordered the "Dinner for Two" La Parrillada. As you can see in the photo, the portion is massive - honestly enough for 3 to 4 people! The meat and shrimp were incredibly tender and well-seasoned, the rice flawless, and the green and red salsas perfection. Not very spicy, but you can request a spicier one as well. It also comes with your choice of freshly made corn or flour tortillas. The Sweet Finale: We ended our meal with a complimentary slice of their tres leches cake. Absolute heaven! Dahlia's has definitely captured our hearts (and stomachs). It hits the spot every single time.

Food and service were outstanding! Everything so fresh and not the same old Mexican menu. The salsa super fresh and they offer a few extra spicy sauces too. They even offered a complimentary personal appetizer. Margaritas are so good and beautiful! No reason to go anywhere else.

Celebrated Cinco de Mayo at Dahlia's and I can easily say this is one of the very best Mexican restaurants in Reno. First I'll say that while the place was massively busy, the staff and service was absolutely outstanding, hardworking, and kind. The decorations were festive and the live music was stellar. The chips and salsa came and they were both absolutely made in-house, the chips were perfectly fresh and crispy and the salsa was the perfect balance of savory with just a perfect touch of spice. I had an alpastor burrito and we ordered some chicken and carne asada tacos with beans and rice; all of it was amazing, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and absolutely delicious, the portions were very generous and the value from the menu was terrific. I also had one of their homemade lemonades and that was perfectly sweet and refreshing. This place has good reason to be busy and we are definitely going to be back soon!

This place came highly recommended, and I was hungry--so of course, "let's go!" It was busy, with beautiful murals covering the walls. The staff was warm and welcoming, we were seated right away, and an appetizer hit the table almost immediately. The food was fresh and came out pretty quickly (I was ready ). Now tell me - Why did I come all the way to Reno, NV and suddenly crave fish tacos? ‍ I couldn't tell you. They looked great and were cooked perfectly... but the flavor just didn't show up. Now the guac? Absolutely worth the trip alone. I'd come back for that - and give the rest of the menu another shot. Until Mex-time... . . . Dahlias Mexican Grill Reno, NV /

Let me just say we came on Cinco de Mayo without reservations so we did it to ourselves, but even after waiting an hour in line I would still give this 5/5! The ambiance, the music, the service, and of course the food were all amazing. I ordered the Volcanes and they were some of the best I've ever had. Plus the free appetizer and dessert at the end were excellent. Can't wait to come back again on a non-holiday!

10 out of 10 Finally a Mexican restaurant that is delicious!!! Great service, our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Never had to ask for napkins or refills, she was on it. Food came out hot hot hot... I appreciate that.. the flavors of our food are traditional and authentic. My cafe de olla gave me flashbacks to my parents house back in Mexico. That definitely was the best part of this dining experience... warmed my heart having coffee that made me feel closer to my parents just for that short moment. The restaurant is on the smaller side but it's clean. The restrooms are clean. You can see directly into the kitchen and the cooks cooking your Food. So you know exactly how your Food is being prepared. I will definitely be back the next time. We are in Reno.

Grilled fish tacos combo. The cabbage was a little much and flavor could have used a kick but it was filling.

I rate Dahlias and solid 3.5 stars but they don't allow half stars. There is plenty of parking and the ambiance is nice. I'm not sure how long this place has been open but it seems to be on the newer side as opposed to a hole-in-the wall. I will say they could use better ventilation. As soon as you enter you get that wave of grill smoke and grease smell because they run an open kitchen. I got the fish taco combo and it was pretty good as fish tacos go. The high points were that the fish was grilled and the proportions were generous. Things that could improve include the amount of cabbage should be reduced and the tortilla was a bit thick. There was so much cabbage that it was drowning out the delicate taste of the fish. Overall the taco lacked a bit of flavor. It really needed some chipotle baja sauce or some crema based accent. It came with rice and beans that were pretty standard. I gave a demerit for not having complimentary chips but erased that when i got a complimentary slice of cake at the end. The cost was pretty standard for a combo dish like this. Overall i will return to try some other entrees with hopes that other priteins will have a bit more zip.

This was our first time at Dahlia's Mexican Grill. The location is easy to get to and feels like a neighborhood spot that locals clearly know about, which made it a place we wanted to try. The ambiance is casual and comfortable, with a relaxed atmosphere that works well whether you are stopping in for a quick meal or sitting down to take your time. The service was friendly and welcoming, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time without feeling rushed. We ordered the Rancheros Tacos and the Tacos de Birria. The Rancheros Tacos had good flavor with well seasoned meat and fresh toppings that worked nicely together. The Tacos de Birria were the highlight, with tender meat and a rich flavor that stood out, especially when dipped in the consomme. The portions were large and the food tasted fresh and satisfying. Overall it was a good experience and we would come back.

Back again to try more things from the menu! This time I got a combo plate because I couldn't decide what I wanted! As always, staff is friendly, food is served hot and fresh, and great flavors.

Combo - 4 Tacos (2 Al Pastor and 2 Shrimp)
    Todd E.

I ordered the combo of 2 Al Pastor Tacos and 2 Shrimp Tacos. I was a big fan of the shrimp tacos so I think anything you order there with shrimp will be good. Their Al pastor tacos were good but not my style, I don't think I would order again. The Spanish rice was some of the best I have had, but the refried beans were just okay (again for my preference). The service was top notch and super friendly and I like the dia de los muertos type artwork on the walls inside. I definitely will go back would like to try more dishes.

Dinner at Dahlia's tonight was so good! Started with a delicious complimentary appetizer of fried dough topped with cheesy cream sauce. I could have ate 20 of them! Accompanied by the best cucumber jalapeno margarita. For entrees we had steak fajitas and combo plate of enchilada and chili relleno. Fajitas were tender and tortillas homemade. Dessert was a fantastic complimentary sliver of cake-perfect size to share as we were both stuffed from our meals. Service is always great here and love the colorful interior with all the murals.

The service was good. Everyone was so nice. The layout of the tables did make it feel a little cramped. The dishes were beautiful to eat and drink from. The chilaquiles weren't as good as Carmelitas. The queso fundido definitely made my chilaquiles better. The pan dulce was such a cute and unique way to end our meal. We probably won't come back, but I do love the menu variety.

    Chicken fajitas were great!

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good.
