OMG!!!!! I have been in Chicago for a year and a half, and have been so disappointed in everywhere else I've ordered from. Tried Dai Yee's tonight, and WOW I am so happy I did. I definitely ordered way too much food, but leftovers are nice! General's chicken, beef with broccoli, egg rolls, crab rangoon, bbq pork buns, egg fried rice... the food was HOT and perfectly packaged when it was delivered, 20 min away. Great flavor! But... Egg Rolls:very thin with not enough filling, and salty. Pot stickers: Wraps were very thick and rubbery. Filling was ok. A waste at $12, and they didn't send any dipping sauce. Hot and Sour soup. Finally made it here last Saturday. I was expecting to encounter overhyped food but was gladly mistaken. Everything we had was fresh to order. I do not have any complaints. Our office placed a big order for a office holiday lunch, and every single one of us loved the food. There were so many dishes that I couldn't tell you exactly what we ordered, but everything was delicious. I would say the standout dishes were the buns and dumplings. You could tell these were homemade from the soft chewy dough, but still had a good bite. Bruh! Every once is a while you come across a place that reminds you what love is in food form. Every single bite of the Szechuan chicken was heavenly. Usually love Dai Yee's, but last experience I had with them, I discovered what seems to be a plastic toothpick or something along the lines of that. I ordered chicken curry & beef fried rice, and the piece of plastic was found in the curry. Clearly does not belong in this dish, nor does it mimic any other ingredient in either dish. Disgusted and ended up tossing the entire dinner away. Personally do not think I'll ever be returning, which is a shame because the food has always been great quality in the past. read more

Ordered for pick-up last night. It's not a restaurant so don't look for one. It's a food pick-up stop so the sign doesn't say the restaurant name (commercial kitchen maybe?). We went inside and received a text and a link once the food was ready. The text instructed me to click a link. Did that and a locker opened. Our order was nicely packed in a brown bag. We ordered a bunch of the appetizers and orange chicken. Best orange chicken I've had in a while. Large portion with meaty (mostly white) pieces with good breading and the sauce(packed on the side) was delicious! The BBQ bao, dumplings and soup was all good and eaten up. Wow! So glad that our new place is in the delivery area for Dai Yee. Their food is phenomenal! We ordered a couple of soups (Wonton soup, egg drop soup), egg rolls, and entrees (General Tso's Chicken, Pork Chow Fun, and a chicken and shrimp with cashews dish), and everything was delicious and the portions were plentiful. This is Americanized Chinese food kicked up several notches, with exceptionally fresh ingredients and sauces that have way more flavor than what you'd find at your run-of-the-mill take-out place. For example, the General Tso's was actually quite spicy (hard to find in a take out spot!), and it maybe even had some of those delicious numbing peppers! I would order everything again and also look forward to trying more. We placed our order online on their website and paid a reasonable $6 delivery fee and our order came within 45 minutes on a Friday. read more

I've been frequenting this family's restaurants for more than 20 years. Starting with their location close to my old job at Abt Electronics in Morton Grove, Palace Restaurant. I absolutely love their chicken broccoli dish. The chicken is always tender and the sauce is more of a garlicky broth which I prefer over starchy thick sauces. I've also been to Shanghai Inn in Ravenswood which was equally great. I am so happy I found Lisa's newest restaurant, Dai Yee's Asian Kitchen. Our food was delivered so fresh and piping hot. The chicken and broccoli dish is just as great as I remembered it from day one of entering their restaurants twenty years ago. I ordered the shrimp fried rice (large shrimp is extra), hot and sour soup, and shrimp in lobster sauce.
