Ever go to a place and get your food.. look around at others and think maybe you got the wrong thing? That's kind of me and Daily Eats. I would probably put this as a solid 3.5 stars, however my wife would be way closer to 4.5. We've been here 3 or 4 times. This time around, one of us was jonesing for breakfast (Me!) and one of us was hot for lunch. I've had the french toast before and am less impressed by it than other people, so I tried a Carnivore Omelette (in some places you would call this a butcher something or meat lovers) and it was good, three eggs, various meats, some scallions. Good, not great.. It came with the Home Fries which were really good and could have been great if they were hot. And because I was exploring my gourmand side this fine day.. I got a short stack of pancakes. This is two whole wheat pancakes (get what you want on them) with butter and syrup. So, I love whole wheat bread, cereals, toast etc... but whole wheat pancakes.. those boys's are just a'ight. Lisa got the BLTA (right, a BLT with avocado) and if you spelled Lisa B-L-T-A it would have her name on it. She thought the sandwich was terrific (taking half home for later... at least one of us understands moderation) and she got the fries with it, they do the battered kind of fries.... if your into that kind of thing. I help her eat some of those. This is where mere mortals would have stopped and enjoyed their satisfying meal... but remember that gourmand thingy I've got going on? We got a Buffalo Chicken shredder bowl too. We shared, it was very tasty, nice amount of spice. I'll explore more of the Shredder Bowls on future visits.. I'm thinking the Thai and Cheeseburger ones look really good (at least until they are in front of me and I look around... ) It was early Sunday afternoon on a gorgeous day, we sat outside and the people watching was fantastic! I was kicking off 2015 with a nice healthy lunch at Daily Eats on South Howard, and had the pleasure of enjoying the company of my Yelp friend, Michelle M. We were renewing our semi-regular monthly lunch meeting to catch up on news and good eats. Neither of us had eaten at Daily Eats, so this seemed like the perfect excuse to try this South Tampa eatery for lunch. As many people know, Daily Eats is part of the successful Ciccio Restaurant Group which includes Ciccio Cali, Ciccio's / Water, the Lodge, Green Lemon, and Fresh Kitchen. These folks seriously love the South Tampa area, and they've done a great job helping to shape the restaurant scene in the region. You'll find Daily Eats along S. Howard Avenue, just south of Swann, and at the intersection of Bristol Avenue. Parking in this area can be a challenge, but they have a small lot between Green Lemon and Daily Eats, and a larger lot across the street for these two restaurants. Daily Eats is a refurbished two-story house right on the corner, and they've taken full advantage of the wrap-around veranda porch to offer al fresco dining for smaller groups. Inside the restaurant you'll find booths, and a casual diner-like atmosphere. Outside is more relaxed, and a nice place to sit when the weather cooperates. Much like a diner you can order breakfast at any hour which includes traditional omelets, egg dishes, French toast, and pancakes -- but all with a playful twist. French toast covered with Cap'n Crunch cereal, or how about scrambled eggs with diced onions, tomatoes, scallions and capers on a bed of tater tots topped with smoked salmon and served with a side of scallion cream cheese all in a bowl? If breakfast isn't your thing, then flip the menu over to see their selection of burgers, mac n cheese, or a nice mix of sandwiches that come with fries, tots, salad, cole slaw, baked beans or fresh fruit. For an upcharge you can go wild and get sweet potato fries, chili cheese fries and more. Now in the middle of the back page are what they call "Shredder Bowls", and this has nothing to do with snowboarding in Vail. Nope, these are their take on fresh ingredients and various proteins served over a bed of brown rice or quinoa, and mixed shredded lettuce or spinach. I liked the sound of their Gyro Shredder Bowl which was gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, feta, tzatziki sauce and white balsamic vinaigrette, served over brown rice with spinach. They have about ten different styles of these shredder bowls which run about $10 for a very filling meal. Michelle and I both had shredder bowls and liked them very much. Delicious, healthy food at a fair price, and a very relaxed atmosphere. I will be back to try some of their breakfast choices next time. read more

Great diner! We sat outside which wasn't too bad during the night. People watching is always fun. And duh! I just realized this is part of the Ciccio Restaurant Group. The menu did have a Ciccio Cali feel lol. Lots of menu options to please everyone here. AND they serve breakfast all day- win! I had the Thai peanut shredder bowl w/ shredded chicken and spinach. I was trying to be good, but that Crunchy French Toast was calling me...I might have to go back there and make someone order it so I can have a bite. Or two. My shredder bowl was fantastic! Huge serving and every bite was bursting with flavor. I like how you are able to customize the bowls to your liking (brown rice/quinoa, lettuce/spinach, choice of protein). Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Potato crusted turkey burger- will have to try soon. Service was great, no complaints there. Each person in our group ordered something different but my two faves were: Chefs Crunchy French Toast (tastes like Captain Crunch and French toast - ah making!) and the Turkey Hash-savory deliciousness! I love how they have run of the mill breakfast items but they jazz them up. Example: The Dougie has pancakes, Turkey sausage and egg whites all combined in a bowl. Oh Daily Eats. This place has been bookmarked for a while and I finally got the chance to try it this Sunday for brunch. Now we all know that brunch places are sometimes overhyped because the idea of brunch is overhyped and Daily Eats, unfortunately, falls into this trap. Parking is limited. Being in the smack middle of SoHo, there are a few parking options. If you find a parking spot in the parking lot, you're golden. However, if you're like me and have the worst luck when it comes to....life, there are options for you. Drive through a few of the neighborhoods around. There should be free street parking on some of the streets perpendicular to Howard. Once you spend a while finding parking, you'll find out that life throws you another curveball: the wait. The wait is in fact forever. If you're brunching on Sunday, be prepared to wait a good 30-40 minutes for a table. I'm guessing this is the same for any weekend brunching. The service is nice and quick. Once we got seated, we quickly blazed through the menu and ordered our food. I got the Steak and Eggs Breakfast Bowl. To be honest, it was quite bland. There was nothing special about this bowl, even though it was highly recommended by other people. My friend got the Tijuana Bowl, which was also a slight let down. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but nothing stood out. It was just like any other ordinary breakfast. The home fries on the bottom did have a nice seasoning, but still didn't make up for the lack of creativity and flavor in the other portion of the meal. tl;dr - Decent brunch spot, but nothing that screams AMAZEBALLS. I've dismissed Daily Eats for years, assuming it was nothing more than your typical diner fare. Little did I know that I was missing out on Cap'n Crunch Crispy French Toast, Potato Chip Crusted Turkey Burgers, and Apple Pie Milkshakes. My favorite Yelper and lunch buddy, Steve E. agreed to join me for lunch last Friday at Daily Eats. After hearing the daily specials and looking over the menu we decided to start the New Year afresh and order the healthy Shredder Bowls. These unique bowls offer a combination of fresh vegetables and healthy proteins served over a bed of brown rice or quinoa and shredded lettuce or spinach. The bowls come in half portions at $6.50 or full bowls at $10. (Additional charges apply for quinoa, spinach, NY strip or ahi tuna.) The full portion was filling, but not large enough for leftovers. I would only suggest ordering the half bowl as a light snack or accompanied with another item on the menu. Steve ordered the Gyro Shredder Bowl with gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, feta, tzatziki sauce and white balsamic vinaigrette served over brown rice and spinach. I ordered the Greek Shredder Bowl with shredded chicken, cucumbers, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, garbanzo beans, feta, white balsamic vinaigrette and oregano served over brown rice and spinach. Both of us agreed that the Shredder Bowls were a delicious and healthy lunch option. Breakfast, my favorite meal of the day, is offered at Daily Eats during all hours of operation so I will be back to try one of the six egg benedict options... and a breakfast bowl.... and the Cap'n Crunch French Toast! When in doubt, get a shredder bowl! That was one of the first meals I had upon moving to Tampa a few years ago and is still just as good. This place is BUSY. To say the least. We sat inside but probably should have been outside since you could barely hear yourself talk. The food was good, and service was fine. Seems like a fun place for lunch or brunch on a lazy day. I let Yelp help me find a place for breakfast while in Tampa and I was not disappointed. Tried the Oreo cookie french toast and the chocolate chip pancakes (yes I eat like a 4 yr old). While I was most looking forward to the french toast I actually liked the chocolate chip pancakes the best. I also tried the fresh squeezed OJ which turned out to be almost $4 - it was good... just not that good For the two of us breakfast ran about $30 which is way to much for breakfast... that being said... our bill could have been much less had we known how to order. The plates were huge and we left about half of our food. If you go as a couple and want the pancakes just split a plate, grab a side of turkey sausage and skip the OJ and go with the coffee which was also delicious - you can easily get out of there for around 15 bucks for two people which isn't too bad. A little loud when we went though thanks to a couple of different screaming children but I won't let that effect my rating since that really isn't anyone's fault I would like to go back to try some of the breakfast bowls. This is a definite must for breakfast/brunch in Tampa. Thank goodness for great recommendations from friends because we would have not come across this place otherwise. We were staying in Downtown Tampa but it was an easy and quick 10 minute drive to get here. The parking lot was full but, thanks to our patience, we scored a spot in the adjacent lot. (Check out the gorgeous "You Are Beautiful" graphic on the brick wall) No worries though because there is additional parking across the street. Since it was a Sunday morning there was a bit of a wait outside. You have to sorta force yourself through the throngs of people at the door to get to the person who is taking names for the wait list. They asked where we preferred to be seated and we told them first available. Which worked in our favor since they had a table available on the covered patio. The bigger sized parties had more of a wait so keep that in mind. Our server was great and gave us a rundown on their menu. The breakfast bowls are the popular choice-- eggs and toppings on top of a bed of home fries (yummy seasoned potatoes). She also recommended the Chef's Famous crunchy French toast which uses Captain Crunch cereal in its coating! I went with the Tijuana breakfast bowl while my husband went with the Bacon & Eggs breakfast bowl. We also got the French toast to share. Since I was a little under the weather, I went with the OJ but got a little jealous seeing the folks next to us with their bloody marys. Next time!! The food was delicious and way more than I anticipated. I am one that hates to waste but I really couldn't finish my breakfast bowl. It was huge (think pasta bowl size). On top of home fries was a bed of scrambled eggs topped with 3 bean veggie chili, shredded jalapeno jack, tomatoes and guac! OMG sooo good but very filling. My husband's meal was simple - potatoes, eggs, bacon and cheese . The French toast was tasty and better than I was expecting. Only thing that was a concern was that there are only 2 restrooms (male and female). So that means the line can back up quickly .... Overall, we had an excellent meal. I give this place five stars. I have been here a couple of times before but I wanted to come back with a friend of mine. The only regret that I have is that I had a physical a couple of days later so I tried stick to my low-carb lifestyle. That was very hard because they have such an amazing menu with many creative dishes. And seeing the delicious food go past me to the other diners made it hard not to want to order whatever they had. I know that when I return and I do mean when I return I will definitely get the Captain Crunch French toast. However since many people I know either do low-carb, like my friend that attended with me, or follow a keto diet this is definitely a great place to visit if you still want something delicious without the carbohydrates. Also, if you just want to eat whatever this is also a great place. I ordered the Mexican omelette and added on some steak and got a side of bacon. Don't judge me I was hungry that day. The mixture of flavors were amazing and The Omelette was very well seasoned. My friend got avocado toast and liked her order as well. The wait staff were very nice and willing to answer any questions I had about the menu and even though this place can get packed especially on the weekends for brunch and lunch, the wait was not that long and the food is worth the wait. Loved it!! I would solely come back for the Cap'n Crunch French Toast. We went on a Friday so we were happy just to walk in and sit without a wait. (We attempted to comeback on Sunday around 11 and the wait for two was about 40mins). I got the goat cheese omelette and he built his own and shared the Cap'n Crunch French Toast. The mimosas were also amazing my favorite out of what we tired was the mango. The staff was super friendly and helpful. If you come to Tampa you gotta try the French toast!! This place really is as good as the reviews say. Went Saturday morning at 11AM. I knew it would be busy but we really didnt wait that long to be seated; maybe like 10 minutes.The place was packed but we were well attended and got our food quickly. We got the: Tijuana Bowl New York Style Eggs Benedict California Omelet Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice Everything was delicious, hot, and we got GENEROUS PORTIONS! Enough to take food home for later. My omelet was hearty with lots of meat (turkey, bacon), melty cheese, and super thick with lots of eggs! SO GOOD! And the orange juice was delicious all though you just get a small cup. All in all, an EXCELLENT place to go. Would definitely go back and take friends there in the future. I look forward to going there for lunch or dinner to try their other food items. I was so excited to find this gem while visiting Tampa! Finding gluten free options that aren't just a salad is quite the adventure on vacation. Luckily this restaurant has options for both breakfast and lunch that are gluten free and/or Vegetarian. I ordered the California Shredder bowl - all the toppings of a Turkey club burger over brown rice meanwhile my friends could still get some traditional burgers and tots! Plus the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations since this was our first visit. This is getting 2 thumbs up and I will definitely be back next time I head to Tampa! read more

I love eating in downtown areas, especially at local places that have a good vibe and menu. That being said, I was initially put off by the hostesses at DE. It was raining and the third member of our party dropped us off, so we didn't have to walk in the rain. "We can't seat you until your entire party is here," she said flatly and unappologetically. When we pointed to the door as our third arrived and said that's him, I saw an eye roll. I don't like seeing an eye roll. My other concern is that the shorts on the girls were too tight and short or they were wearing yoga crops, neither of which are appetizing to a straight lady who wants to enjoy their meal. If I wanted to go to Hooters or another kitschy bar, I would have gone there instead. Seeing young girls in their late teens and early twenties dressed like that simply didn't sit well with me. Our server was much nicer than the hostess which redeemed the dining experience a bit. My friends reassured me that the food, despite the rocky start, was well worth it. I enjoyed the Cap'n Crunch Milkshake which tasted like my childhood in a glass. The chopped bits of cereal were crunchy and the milkshake was nice and thick. I followed up with a Tampa Mule, and found it surprisingly refreshing. It was a nice local twist on the Moscow Mule. Next time, if my appetite permits it, I would like to venture into their food menu as many of the choices sounded outstanding. Hopefully the overall service will better next time. read more

Oh how I miss having lunch here! Since I'm now in St Pete during work hours I've had to settle for visiting during other times. Every visit here has been great. Staff is always so nice and friendly. On this visit, my sister and I had a late lunch on a rare weekday off. We shared the tater hater, cause how can you not start with loaded tater tots? When I'm traveling, I like to try new places for every meal--never the same place twice. I had to break from that this week while visiting the Tampa Bay area. Two breakfasts in a row at Daily Eats, I have nothing but great things to say all around. ***Food*** I'll start with the food, since that's what I'm here for: It's consistent and ridiculously delicious. My family and I ordered from all over the menu and were eating off each other's plates eagerly both times--so much good stuff! The plates are thoughtful, prepared with careful attention, and cooked perfectly inside and out. I've been on a healthier (for me) kick lately, so I went with the Tijuana breakfast bowl subbing in egg whites and spinach instead of their amazing tater tots (though we ordered a side of those anyway--they're too freakin' good to pass up altogether, hehe). I love this breakfast: it's flavorful, a satisfying portion, and made with quality ingredients. It tastes really well balanced... I find a lot of places either prioritize healthfulness and err toward being too bland or lean flavorful but overrely on stuff like butter, oil, and cheese to make the dish work. Not Daily Eats! It's super well balanced and scrumscious, and I feel great afterward. Or at least I would if I stopped there, ha--what can I say, I'm a fiend about having to try specialty items and especially milkshakes and sweet griddle treats like french toast. Num num num num num! So we ordered their famous Cap'n Crunch french toast to split between us like an appetizer. It's worth the hype, though I highly recommend the Cap'n Cluck bowl version over it if you're going for that extra something special flavor and plating wise. Something about how the sriracha chicken soaks into the french toast--maaan I'm getting amped just talking about it! Anyway, it's no joke. On our first visit, my husband got the Jersey Shore bagel burger, shall we call it, situation on the first visit, which I can attest works really well and tastes damn good. On our second visit, he went with the double Daily Eats burger. They accidentally made a double double and caught themselves before bringing it out--I don't know, maybe they looked at it, lol'd, and decided to recheck the ticket to see if this guy was for real or what, just kidding, lol--at any rate, our server came over and with a sense of humor said either a very happy accident happened or just maybe an accident, it was up to us but if we wanted it we wouldn't be charged extra. Lo and behold she presents a somehow beautifully wrapped and presented tower of a burger. Needless to say, my husband gladly accepted. I took two bites, what I guess would equal 3/4 of a full bite (this thing was tallllllll, ha) and loved the flavors in both. It's the perfect burger if you like smash-style patties, nice and juicy and flat. Good, buttery bread--all in all, exactly my husband's kind of dish. There's so much more good food things to say, but, in short, just trust these guys know what they're doing. Tots are exceptionally good, as is just about everything else on the menu. Hard to choose a few things to highlight when it was all so consistently good. Tldr; beautiful plates, plethora of diverse options, all delicious, above and beyond expectations. Satisfies the full range of health-minded to indulgent palettes. ***Atmosphere*** Great, intimate, down to earth clean, healthy diner vibes. A small joint on the inside. They seem to keep very busy, but even at the popular hours at which we visited, we were seated and served within just a few minutes. They have a very competent, friendly, and professional staff. It strikes me as a very well managed business that cares genuinely about customer satisfaction but also treats you more like a respected fellow human than as a customer in the colder business sense--I love this attitude and totally vibe with it. None of that putting on of airs you get at some places that can feel forced or pretentious, or like a coping mechanism for insufferable/entitled customers. Very professional and friendly, would be the short version. Also, both times after we placed orders we were asked about any food allergies. I was impressed by this, as they do seem especially (and easily) accommodating of most or all dietary needs. Last thing: the coffee is so good! I usually dress mine with just a little cream and sugar, even when the coffee itself is delicious--it's just one of those things I like to be indulgent about. That said, this coffee tasted so good on its own--exceptionally well balanced--I drank it down black and brought some with me to go and n both visits. We have been to this place many times over all its quite good and it has a lot of options. Prices are fair for portion size and quality of the food. The parking not the best situation and occasionally our order gets a little messed up but they are always nice about fixing it. Quite possibly the worst breakfast I've had since moving to Tampa. I had the traditional Benedict on tomato slices as I'm gluten free. The hollandaise was sour, the poached eggs were basically hard boiled, the ham was so over cooked it was like crunchy bacon and the grits were so salty even syrup couldn't save them. Finding a great place for breakfast can be a real challenge. Yelp has made it so much easier when stepping out of comfortable neighborhood. I had an eye doctor appointment at the Optic Shop and we decided to eat here for breakfast. It was amazing!!! The eggs benedict were by far the best I have ever had at a restaurant. The hollandaise sauce had a touch of a lemon flavor. As close to home made as you can get. The grits were very creamy and remained hot the entire time. I would highly recommend! read more

Wanted to visit SoHo while we were on vacation and decided on this little place. The area of SoHo wasn't quite what we were expecting, but it was a cute little strip. Some things I liked about the restaurant: 1) We were sat almost instantly. 2) The menu wasn't vast but had some different selections that seemed interesting(breakfast/brunch, sandwiches and bowls) 3) Nice and attentive wait staff 4) Easily accessible parking Some things that I didn't like: 1) No fans on the outside patio. It's the middle of summer and blazing hot. We were melting on the patio and it wasn't enjoyable. 2) The size of the outside area is so small. You are basically sitting on top of each other. Luckily, nobody was sitting next to us. 3) The location of the bathroom was off. We were sat on the opposite end of where the bathrooms were and we had to walk through the whole restaurant to get to them. Even the inside was very narrow and we had to walk around people. 4) The food was decent, nothing was spectacular. read more

Was favorite restaurant in Tampa, however they just increased prices and got rid of half of the menu! Why?!?! Also ordered the mac, and bowl was basically empty! Daily Eats!!! You can take ALL my coins every SINGLE day! This was my second time visiting this joint, both experiences were phenomenal ! I had the Cali Shredder bowl and my friend had the New Yorker Egg Benedict, both of which had us doing happy dances! Additionally, the time it took between us ordering our food and getting them was super short(less than 10 minutes), which was unbelievable for a Saturday morning with a full house. Despite the rain, my friend and I decided to brave the weather and humidity and sit outside, which was not bad at all as there were fans blowing, but there is a cute diner vibe inside if you're not up to getting your tresses frizzy. The food was great, service exceptional and atmosphere mellow. Great selection of food, including gluten free! D.E., you have a lifetime customer and I will gladly recommend this spot to anyone and everyone. P.S. You know how hunger is the best seasoning? I was starving when we first got here. We drove around looking for parking for Gasparilla and after half an hour ended up back where we started and decided to pay an arm and a leg for parking. Therefore, our brunch got pushed back half an hour and having not eaten anything all day, those 30 minutes meant a lot. I got the lox breakfast bowl and my fiance got the captain crunch pancakes. When I first started eating the breakfast bowl I thought wow this is amazing! Halfway through I regained my senses and began to really asses what I was eating. It was a good portion and it is a great combination of flavors. However, overall it was too salty. Whether it was too much smoked salmon (is that even possible?) or too many capers, there just was not enough scrambled eggs and home fries to balance it out. I'm actually surprised that this bowl had too much filling (tomatoes, capers, etc.) than scrambled eggs. Overall it was still great, but could have been slightly better. I still love the idea of breakfast bowls and will be back to try a different one. Also, this kept me satisfied and filled until dinner. My fiance liked, but didn't love his captain crunch pancakes. I blame the fact that he is against almost all things healthy and did not realize the pancakes were whole wheat. I tried it and it was very sweet. He ended up leaving a pancake and a half on his plate. However, I think most people would enjoy these pancakes as long as they do not have a vendetta against whole wheat. The atmosphere is great. It has a very diner like feeling and a good number of seats outside. I can see myself going back for brunch. I love the menu and I had a hard time deciding what to get. read more
