Loved our Sunday brunch experience. The atmosphere inside was bright and clean, although I think next time I would definitely want to be outside, which looked lovely. Our waiter was great and attentive. To start we split the deviled eggs and cinnamon roll, both fabulous. Hubby and I also split a regular mimosa flight. Honestly writing this I am a tad conflicted. I enjoyed my latte along with my service. However the shrimp and grits were lacking much seasoning at all. I would have added a lot more. The latte was tasty though with plenty of flavor options. The drink menu was likely the best part of the experience. My friends and I stuck around chatting after our Meal was complete for them to have the table. I found it interesting considering the number of open tables throughout. Was looking for a central location for some coworkers to meet up for dinner and city centre seemed the best locale. Also looking to find a restaurant that covered all the dietary needs of the group and so glad I found this place. Last time we went out we went to North Italia and loved it, but didn't want to go to the same place again. Also didn't want to do a chain restaurant as well to fill the needs of a vegetarian. Daily Gather has an abundance of dishes for dietary needs. Parking - they have street and garage, but some places are pay and some of the garages are 80% reserved so even though there is a good amount of parking it still may take some time finding it. Food Apps Oysters - you can choose gulf or east coast, we chose gulf and they were so clean/refreshing, went with 6 between 2 and wish we had gotten more. Citrus Avocado very refreshing, personally not a fan of grapefruit and i accidentally grabbed one in a bite...very bitter...but the dish as a whole was very good. Poblano Guacamole - good, but really couldn't taste the poblano part of it. Entrees Tomato basil soup - very good and the right consistency, some places I have seen lean too far on the tomato side making it taste like a sauce. Bread - buttery/fluffy and warm, very good. Burgers - ordered by 2 ppl, but the kitchen came back and said they had ran out Snapper - didn't try, but friend said he really enjoyed it Salmon - didn't try, but friend said he really enjoyed it, to me it looked like he may have walked away hungry still Short Rib on mushroom risotto - this dish was fabulous, meat was cooked very well and tender...let some other try it and you can see the look in their faces as they wished they ordered this dish as well. I absolutely love this place! I really do. And I have been here many times. However the last two or three times I have tried to come at around 8-9 and they're "closed or closing". Hours show open until 10 pm so I'm not sure why. The first two times I came and it was around 8:30-45 and I was told "hey we're closing because we had an event" or something to that tune. Didn't look like anything was going on and people were sitting eating but fine whatever (I drive from the woodlands to come here by the way). The third time I decided to call and this time it was maybe 8:20, and I asked hey what time does the kitchen close and I was told "actually, we're closing the kitchen now". Why even have hours open until 10 if you're closing an hour and a half early? I really do love this place and I think they have phenomenal food but let's get the hours right please! read more

While in Houston for a graduation we had the opportunity to meet with friends for a goodbye brunch. This place was suggested as it was in walking distance from their home. The food is farm to table and was so delicious! The eggs were the best any of us had eaten in a while! The yolks were such a deep orange and so rich, they were the highlight of our meal!! I wasn't very hungry so opted to order an egg, some gouda grits and toast off the ala carte menu, another friend ordered the shrimp and grits, also ordered was the Bacon Benedict and the 3 egg breakfast. The friend who ordered the shrimp and grits said the tomatoes that were in that dish were amazing and oh so sweet. He raved about them along with the plump juicy jumbo shrimp that was also included. The Bacon Benedict was served over fluffy biscuits and was the bacon was cooked perfectly. The coffee was served in nice big mugs, not little cups that needed a refill every 2 minutes and the iced tea was nice and strong! I really wish I lived in Houston so I could try more of the items on this menu. The food was superb and the service was great as well. I usually don't write reviews after I just ate at the location, but I was ready for this one once I got home. I had high expectations for this spot based on reviews but it was just okay. While the service was good the food was just passable. Our server Asia was nice but she seemed tired and overworked. I started off with some appetizers and ordered their deviled eggs. I thought it tasted pretty bad. The yolk had no flavor except for mustard. It was pungent, bitter & had a gassy taste to it. I can't really explain it, just know it wasn't good. There was no mayo/relish to balance out the sharpness in the mustard. I'm fine with just mustard but at least do Dijon instead. I couldn't even finish the last two eggs and told them to toss it out. My friend brisket sandwich was fine, the meat was pretty tendered but needed salt. The au jus was plain, simple with no excitement just sweet. The fries were hot and crispy. I ordered a seared salmon with added crab sub rice for green beans. The salmon was cooked to my liking which is medium rare to medium. The fish could've been more seared to give it more coloring and a flavorful crust. The green beans were fine but lacked seasoning. And one of my pet peeves when it comes to cooking is when they don't trim the ends of the green beans. The crab tasted fine but for an extra 9 bucks, they gave me like 2 small lumps of crab, definitely not worth it. And it was just the basic blue crab. At the end I wanted to try their dessert and got the crème brûlée. The custard was decent and not overly sweet. But who the heck adds grapefruits/oranges on top of the brûlée? Not I. Raspberry/blueberries/strawberries would've made more sense. I'm actually fine with the oranges but grapefruit was odd because it's bitter. Sweet and Bitter doesn't really go together (only sometimes). I get being a chef that you want to perfect your art and having creativity but that ain't it. Overall my experience was mediocre. The service was good and the ambiance is nice for a first date. I did like that they had a pack of cards for you to kill some time while you're waiting on your food. I think the questions on the flash card is like a good ice breaker for a first date. So kudos to them for that. I made a reservation for my mom's birthday. We arrived on schedule for a 1 PM brunch. When we arrived, we were told that there would be a wait time, as no tables were available. As I scanned through the restaurant, it was indeed a busy Sunday with no tables available. This defeats the purpose of having a reservation if you have to wait for a table despite having a reservation. I saw another group of 4 people who entered after us, without our reservation, promptly escorted to a table. This struck me as odd and unfair. As a few minutes ago, I had been told there were no tables available, and this new party with no reservation was just escorted to a table. I went over to ask the hostess why were they seated before us? She explained that they had requested outdoor seating and outdoor tables were available so that's why they were seated ahead of us. We waited another 5 to 10 minutes before we were escorted to our table As the hostess was walking us to the table, I saw not 1, not 2, but 3 empty tables. I was absolutely infuriated that they had made us wait unnecessarily with 3 tables were available When I called out the disconnect, she explained to me that because they have other earlier reservations, that they were prioritizing those individuals who had not arrived and were running late. I could not comprehend why they were prioritizing no-show diners over a present diner with a scheduled reservation. They made us wait, unnecessarily, they broke the basic expectation of certainty of having a table, and they inconvenienced us by following some misguided operations protocol, instead of diner experience. It is backwards logic to give priority to a no-show, than a diner with a reservation, who is physically present and celebrating a birthday. Because they botched this simple reservation process, it really set off the mood in a negative way because they negatively handled an existing reservation. The ambience was loud between many diners, talking and mood music. It's the kind of place where you can converse at the table, but there's so much competing background noise. I ordered a turkey club sandwich. The french fries were undercooked. The ciabatta bread wasn't really toasted. Without much condiment, the sandwich was also dry. House coffee was basic. It's honestly surprising so many people award this place 4 stars are 5 stars when it's mediocre. As all things, each person will have to decide for themselves if the food is worth $20-$30 per entrée. Overall, I would say the food was mediocre. Nothing worth raving about and certainly nothing worth returning for. read more

It's not every day I find a two course weekday 11 AM to 4 PM lunch menu that has perfectly sized portions and tastes delicious for $25. That's exactly what I found when I met fellow Yelper Brian T. for lunch for my first time at Daily Gather. Parking was easy at valet in front of Seasons 52 and was just a short walk to the restaurant. Low humidity and perfect weather, so we chose to sit outside. Jennifer, our server was efficient, nonintrusive and helpful. I went with a mocktail, and of course, the power lunch with the Caesar salad with white anchovy and grilled salmon. Jennifer's recommendation to add crab meat for $8 was awesome. The microgreens atop the crab meat, atop the perfectly grilled salmon were amazing. I substituted the jasmine rice pilaf for the crushed potatoes and it was delicious. The outdoor patio felt upscale yet comfortable. I heard great things about this place on social media and decided to try it for a meetup with my girlfriends. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. When we arrived and gave our name for our reservation, we were seated in an area that was visibly dirty -- the seats had not been cleaned. We requested to move to another table, which they accommodated without issue. Our waitress was pleasant and gave good drink recommendations. However the drinks were not strong at all -- and if a drink isn't strong, what's the point? The drink was good just not enough alcohol. The food was a different story. I originally wanted the brisket tacos but was told they were out of brisket, so I had to settle for something else that somewhat fit my taste. My potatoes were essentially scraps -- hard and inedible. My pancake was dry, cold, and arrived with no butter. It was just not a good pancake. The eggs were fine -- eggs are eggs. My friends didn't fare much better. One ordered the steak bites and rice pilaf and said her food was too sweet but the steak was tender. The other got the grilled chicken sandwhich and felt the pesto was overwhelming -- way too much of it. We also ordered deviled eggs, which were completely overpowered by a heavy-handed spicy mustard. If you know mustard, you know it takes over everything -- and it did. The bacon and Tabasco flavors were completely lost. When I flagged my potatoes to the food runner, they offered to bring more -- but why would I want more of something that should never have been served in the first place? I declined. CARLOS was the wonderful bartender we had this past weekend. So we initially started with the lavender drink and dg bourbon sour, thought both were great! But we wanted to try something different but somewhat similar to our first drinks. So I asked what he could suggest or do different, and for me he did basically a lavender lemon drop. It was so good i got it again. My fiancé loves amaretto (which was in the bourbon sour) and asked Carlos if he could something with that and he basically made an expresso martini with it and wow that was delicious too! (I THINK he switched out the vodka to rum in the expresso martini? I could be wrong though) he also ended up ordering another one. We sat at the bar for our entire visit and enjoyed the ambiance. Initially we were planning on going to other restaurant bars in city center but never left Daily Gather since we liked it there so much. So shout out to Carlos for the great drinks! I decided to venture out to here for my birthday brunch and it did not disappoint. I made a reservation ahead on Resy because I wasn't sure if it was going to be packed for a Sunday brunch. In retrospect, there were plenty of tables available that a reservation wasn't needed but they were able to reserve me a semi private booth/table in the back that comfortably sat my party of 7. I also love the personalized touches they added for my birthday such as a "happy birthday" centerpiece and cards with ice breaker questions for the group to get to know one another. Since there was a big group of us, we decided to split the ultimate brunch board. It's a spin on your charcuterie board but with brunch items. There was a wide range of foods from sweet to savory. There were 5 of us the split the board and we all left full. My favorites from the board were the deviled eggs, chicken, and french toast. The restaurant also surprised me at the end with their chocolate chip skillet cookie! It is located in City Centre which means parking is limited on the storefront but there are parking garages so make time to walk over to the restaurant. I ordered kids pancakes for my 5 year old daughter but she didn't eat much which is unusual and I gave it a try myself and they were pretty dry. My family got the garden omelette & ranch style eggs with a banana nut muffin which I was able to sample as well. The garden omelette was very delicious and ranch style eggs were good. The banana nut muffin was stuck to the muffin wrap so we could only enjoy the top half portion. They also ordered Daily green drink & Seedlip Guava margarita mocktail drink. My brother mentioned the daily green was pretty strong in flavor so he opted for the guava mocktail. The Cinnamon roll was the best I ever had. I am not a big fan of these usually but I was going back for 2nd serving. It was overly sweet to me. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the meal we had but my family did enjoy theirs. It had all of the breakfast staples and my favorites were the fluffy biscuits and eggs, crispy bacon and potatoes and French toast. The deviled eggs were my least favorite as they tasted like they were made with Dijon mustard and I also wasn't a fan of the side of grits we ordered. Could've done with out the watery flavorless grits. The cinnamon roll was the least favorite over all by everyone I'm not sure what ingredient is involved that but it leaves you with a strange after taste. We ordered 2 mimosa carafes still confused on which one we actually got. We tried to order the 2 bottle special boozy but our waitress said the option was no longer available and the menus needed to be updated. That was disappointing.
