This location is located on the 2nd floor a decent walking distance from Saks Fifth Avenue and the Apple Store on the left by the escalators. I came to meet a friend and was disappointed in the service received. I arrived after my friend, so I understood things happen with waiters where people are moving around tinting to other people however no one came back to the table to ask me what I wanted to order. So I literally had to wave down the employee just to take my order. I practically had three different servers to help me with my food. I never knew who exactly was up with me because nothing was consistent as far as the server. It seemed as if our original server was caught up socializing and talking to other guests so another nice gentleman came up to help wait on us in a refill or drinks. He kept asking if we needed more refills and if everything was okay what's really helps the experience make it better. Nonetheless, that experience was very confusing. I had the tuna roll with fried spinach and a very well seasoned cucumber. I didn't care too much for those fried spinach due to the texture however that cucumber seasoning I need the recipe too! Basically, a diner conveniently located in the Galleria. Food is decent and the staff is friendly when you can flag them down. That is the difficulty. They seem to be woefully understaffed. You will get that impression from having to wait for more time than usual at the reception desk to be seated. You ask for something after your meal arrives; it will take some time. It was quite entertaining to see other tables also flagging down the limited amount of servers as they moved about. Advice to future diners: name everything you need when you order. read more

Frankly, for breakfast, it's simply a super expensive Denny's. The food is sub-par, and the waiter acted like he had much better things to do than to serve us. Breakfast for 4 racked up to nearly $55, and I opted for a fruit and yogurt plate in an attempt to keep costs down. The kids each had a kids plate that had strange breakfast potatoes and green peppers that all seemed undercooked yet browned and hot chocolate, my husband had an omelette (+$20!) that was acceptable and coffee. I had fruit and yogurt (the yogurt was "off" and they charged extra for "just strawberries" even though I didn't have a choice, nor did I make the specification for such an order) and hot tea. Would have put us around $25 at Denny's. Had they at least provided a smile now and then, and less of a holier-than-thou attitude, I might have excused the prices for sake of service. We decided to try it again. We were appalled at the prices...laughable actually. This place is basically a grill/coffee shop but they have Fine Dining price points. The service was prompt and great! Andy was an attentive server! The sourdough bread came out after we placed an order and it was warm, perfect to spread butter on! The bun was kind of soggy for the cheeseburger, the fries tasted like grease and were soggy. The Cobb salad was chopped into pieces and everything was mixed in together. This is a good deal and will cover almost anything on the menu. Unfortunately the 2 mornings I ate here the food was not very good. I've posted pics but the food looks better than it tastes. There was simply no flavor? I'm not sure how they managed to do this but I'm wondering if the cooks add any salt/pepper to their dishes? This little spot doesn't get enough credit for being a tasty little gem hidden inside the galleria! The beer is always yummy, lots of dangerously delicious cocktails and pretty darn good food. By some Christmas magic you never have to wait for a table and the service is always good. We often visit Daily Grill on our yearly Galleria pilgrimage, in search of the perfect Christmas gifts we usually work up quite the appetite! Good thing because these portions are not for the faint of heart. Last time we dinned here, my husband and I both order the lobster pot pie and it was absolutely everything a lobster pot pie should be! A huge homey bowl of creamy lobster goodness, served with ample crust. Damn delicious, I tell you, damn delicious. I washed it all down with a karbach beer and then (because to be fair to the cocktail list) I had a vodka, champagne and black berry fizz something or other. It was so delicious! If we had time I would have stayed for another cocktail, or two, it's the holidays! My boys ordered a burger and fries, to start, calamari. I guess the calamari was ok because by the time I got back from the ladies, the entire plate was gone... geez boys! I poison tasted their fries of course, what kind of mother would I be if I didn't look out for their safety, right! Wink wink... the fries were habit provoking but I was able to restrain myself. They scarfed down their burgers, washed it down with pink lemonade and generally looked pleased as punch. All and all it was a great dinning experience for The Yariger family. Went here because it's tied to the hotel. The place is definitely understaffed, because I waited so long I wasn't sure if I was supposed to seat myself. The food was ok except their sad "breakfast potatoes". Nearly raw and no seasoning, don't even think about crispy anything on the potatoes. What not to get: the mozzarella and tomato salad, that's a joke, the salmon I thought would be great, it was undercooked me and my friends were sick ! The tacos are bland. The ambience is nice and it brings a good crowd. But for the last few years in the mall, the waiters get grumpier and more lazy as the time goes on. Nothing is ever their fault they seem over whelmed with 2 tables ? Bread and butter should be first thing, and sometimes you actually have to ASK? No one tells you about the reward program, until maybe my 20th time I was told, by a nice waitress ! Thanks ! Finally???? I have passed by this place so many times, ever since I was in high school, and it has always been packed with people. Thus today I decided to venture in. Restaurant was clean, packed as usual, but I got a seat relatively quickly. The waiter was also super fast, but still friendly. Onto the food. I would give the food a 3.5. Some things were good, but some was just horrible. I ordered a butternut squash soup with a skirt steak+fries. The soup was up to standard, not really that special. Complimentary sour dough bread was decent. However, for my main course, the fries outshine the steak. First of all, I was never offered a steak knife, so cutting it with a butterknife was tough, and my waiter disappeared until we were done eating. The steak was marinated, which gave it a weird bitter after taste... really earthy. I did not enjoy it at all. For something priced at 21$ I expected it to be better. My mother ordered a crabcake BLT with slaw, and that dish was certainly better. The crab cake had decent lumps of meat, and i did not catch any shell scraps. The bacon was nicely seasoned. The slaw was good too. Overall, I'd recommend to never get the steak, and this place is really overpriced for somewhat ok food. read more

Here's the thing with this place....it's hit or miss. For the price it's not that great but to relax in an over crowded HOT Galleria it is IDEAL. I love all the sides, they have never disappointed me and the mac & cheese is simply amazing and is big enough to have by itself. The appetizers are very good and this place has my award for best "artichoke & spinach dip" in Houston. The daily soups are also very good and the bread is rustic and fresh. The chicken pot pie is amazing and a MUST try, you will be shocked on the size. Now everything else is just ok and most of the meat (beef) selections are just awful for the price. The steak is not Prime Steakhouse quality, trust me I'm a steak girl. The other menus options salads, pasta and sammy's are not bad but for the price they do not stand up. I do really like to sneak away here in an always over crowded and very hot Galleria. This place has great atmosphere and comfy booths and is always nice and cold. I would not purposly drive to eat here unless I was already in the Galleria. Some typical menu combos I try that are good: Mac & cheese with grilled asparagus popcorn shrimp and artichoke & spinach dip Daily soup & salad with bread pesto pasta & cesar salad Oh by the way the regular tea is fantastic !! My mom and I had previously come to this restaurant and it was amazing. Service was great and our ribeye steaks were delicious! We decided to come by again, and our second experience was not great. Her filet mignon was supposed to be medium well and it came out burnt (super chewy and dry). I got the fish and chips and the fish was very soggy and not crispy at all. Our food also took forever to come out, which is strange since it's a Tuesday afternoon and there were only a handful of tables. Perhaps it was a bad day for the kitchen. Our server did offer to have the filet mignon remade which was nice of him and he also offered us dessert on our way out. Hopefully the quality of the food improves! read more

We received our food and it looked delicious. My sister took a bite of her turkey club and pulled out a long hair. We returned it but the waiter did not apologize.. They brought out a new sandwich and everything was cool. Then I picked up my carrot , and it was hair again. I told my waiter and he said " what is it" I said it looks like hair" He looked at me like I was exaggerating and lying. He took the plate and rolled his eyes. I ordered a double shot at the bar. The bill came to more than the price of a 750 ml bottle. After I peeled myself off the floor, I tipped the bartender 28 % (he was excellent) and the total was 39.98. They added $1 when they submitted the charge to Visa. They _didn't_ round up, they added $1. And they won't respond to requests for that $1 back. Beware. This may be their usual practice. If I could afford the filing fee I'd sue in small claims just over principle. read more

We had pasta pomodoro and fish tacos for lunch. Started with onion rings. One Sam Adams and one iced tea. $50. The pasta and tacos were excellent. The rings were frozen, not fresh. The service was very friendly but odd. For example, the waitress asked to take our meal order before I got my beer. Our entrees arrived just minutes after the rings and we had to clear plates for the server to put them down. Just something not right about the timing of things. What a terrible lunch I had yesterday. I should have yelped. I only went because I used to eat at Daily Grill in LA in the 90s and I was nostalgic. Mistake. The waiter was working tables and the bar and he was so rushed it was like getting service from a speeding car. So unpleasant and crappy. I ordered the split pea soup - meh - and the crab cakes - lukewarm and fishy as hell so I sent them back. I'm not one of those send it back people either. I feared for my digestive health. I got the chicken pot pie and it was fine but they burned the outer crust which is the best part so I couldn't even enjoy that. Go straight to hell Daily Grill. Straight to hell. read more

We found this restaurant purely by chance while visiting the Galleria for the first time. It looked pretty classy at first and I wasn't sure if we'd be able to dine there in jeans and tennis shoes but it was totally ok. Our waiter, (can't remember his name), was just alright. He looked irritated on having to wait on us probably because he assumed we wouldn't be good tippers. He was pretty much a no-show throughout our meal and I never got the ice water I asked for. The pink lemonade was horrendously too sweet. My husband and I both hated it so a water would have been nice. We ordered the popcorn shrimp appetizer and they came out piping hot and were delicious! Definitely enough for two people and we were kinda full by the time our grilled skirt steak salad showed up. We split it because it was humongous. The steak was perfectly cooked and I loved the salad but the dressing wasn't a nice fit. I didn't get the Caesar I asked for and it was saturated with dressing to the point where I couldn't taste the salad. Overall, I'd probably come back and try something new and maybe get a better waiter this time. It's a nice little joint, albeit pricy. read more

I was able to order through yelp while i was in a conference. I lost track of time and when i arrived my order had been discarded. While they remade it, i had a drink at the bar. I ordered the bbq chicken salad and it came with large portions of fried chicken tossed in bbq sauce! The staff was quick to fix this. The strawberry lemonade is fresh, but it had a taste that i didnt quite like. (No, it wasn't the strawberries). My suggestion for online ordering is to call and confirm or maybe have a text/email system so food isn't wasted. read more

First of all, the Galleria was a MADHOUSE on a Saturday evening. I couldn't believe how many people were jammed in there. Nevertheless, we were able to get a seat right away at this restaurant around 7pm. Our server, Orrin, was amazing. He said that he just picked up the shift that evening and that typically he was a bartender. You wouldn't have been able to tell- he was attentive, friendly, and excellent. And the only highlight of the evening, unfortunately. We ordered the Chop House Cheeseburger ($18) with the optional sweet potato fries and also the Fish and Chips ($20). The cheeseburger that was delivered to our table was the wrong one - the kitchen completely messed it up so we had to wait for the correct burger to be delivered. The burger itself was satisfactory, cooked to order, but nothing special at all and certainly did not warrant the $18 price tag. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING, though... super crispy while still having soft, fluffy texture inside. The fish and chips was an absolute letdown. It came with three small pieces of battered fish that were primarily just BATTER (see my photos for detail). The batter was *heavily* seasoned with pepper, which obliterated any other flavors, which is why I peeled it all off in the photo (you can even see the huge amount of black pepper flakes on the batter). There was probably four ounces of fish TOTAL between the three "fish sticks". The fries, while crispy, were very basic and like something you would get from any fast food place. The WORST part of it all? We watched as the busser "cleaned" off **TWO** separate booth tables next to us - all he did was wipe off the crumbs with a dry cloth. At no point did they spray sanitizing solution on the table or use a wet rag that we could have pretended had bleach water. Nothing. Just picked up the dishes, dry-wiped the table, and set it again for the next unknowing patron. GROSS. It's cold and flu season, folks, this is *unacceptable*. Luckily for us, the four top tables had white paper "tablecloths" covering them, but all of the booth tables were left bare and unsanitized. read more
