Hear ye! Hear ye! Calling all ice cream lovers! Come gather 'round and I'll tell you the tale of the famous Vermont creemee. The Dairy Creme is a Vermont staple, especially for those of us living in Central Vermont. Many wait with great trepidation to hear when the Dairy Creme will serve its first creemee of the season; a tell-tale sign that summer has begun. Now, I know what you're saying. What the hell is a creemee? Well, my dear friends, a creemee is what other states and other non-Vermont people (we'll leave the Woodchucks & Flatlanders debate for another time) call soft serve. It really feels so wrong for me to say soft serve having grown up knowing that was the give away that someone was from out of state. Now, we all know that Vermont is known for their maple products. It's a natural progression from maple syrup to a maple creemee, but I recommend going to Bragg Farm or Morse Farm for one of those bad babies. Here at the Dairy Creme, you can still get a maple creemee, but they have soooooooo many other ice cream creations, concoctions, and choices for you to try. And YES! THERE ARE DAIRY-FREE OPTIONS FOR THOSE OF US WHO CANNOT HAVE THE MILK! That being said, I often don't care about my body when ice cream or cheese is involved and you can spot me picking dairy-filled options most of the time. My personal favourites are the M&M creemee cookie with vanilla creemee, a small peanut butter blizzard with oreos or butterfingers, or a small hot fudge sundae with extra whipped cream. Shout out to my whipped cream buddy, Rachel Barich (you can find her here on Yelp & on Instagram @rachsfoodfuel)! And, like all good things, you know that summer has come to its end when the Dairy Creme serves its last creemee & closes up for the winter months ahead. Thus the flow of one season in Vermont into the next continues on its way. If you're in my neck of the woods this or any summer, I highly recommend giving Dairy Creme a try. Your first, second, or too-many-and-you've-lost-count creemee may leave you wanting more & I'm sure that the folks down at Dairy Creme will be happy to see your face on those sunshiny summer days!

Was visiting from California and all I wanted was a maple soft serve ice cream. Dairy creme exceeded my expectations and I could fly back to CA happy. Don't know if I'll ever be in Vermont again so I'll cherish that ice cream forever.

Around the country we call it "soft serve ice cream". Some even call it "custard". In Vermont it is a "creamer". I had heard that the thing to eat in the summer months in Vermont was a maple creemee. We drove from Stowe to Montpelier so we could go to the Dairy Creme and the Morse Farm Maple Sugar Works. First strike against Dairy Creme is they will only give one taste per person. Second strike was that the creemee was not good. I ordered a kiddie size of maple and butterscotch. The consistency was thin. The flavor was weak. I threw it out. I was beginning to think this creemee thing was a hoax until we tried a creemee at the Morse Farm Sugar Works (review to follow). If in the area, I suggest driving right past the Dairy Creme and heading to the Maple Sugar Works.

Their creemees are one of the best that Vermont has to offer and extremely satisfying on a hot day. We ordered their maple and vanilla flavored creemees and they tasted rich, creamy, and not too sweet, which I appreciated. Portion sizes are very generous. We enjoyed the view of the Winooski River as we ate our creemees outside the establishment. We will definitely be back to try other flavors. ***Note: a creemee has a higher fat content than a traditional soft serve ice cream, which is why it's so damn delicious***

I don't know why creemees are better than the soft serve ice cream I've had in other states. They just are.

Excellent soft serve with many weekly flavors and sundae choices. Very reasonable prices, worth the visit.

I actually drove an hour out of my way just to get this maple creemee -- I had visited a few years ago and had been dreaming about it ever since. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. The maple creemee was incredible -- unbelievably delicious, rich, and perfectly creamy with an authentic maple flavor that completely lives up to the hype. Easily one of the best maple treats you'll find anywhere. The maple syrup tasting was both informative and fun. The staff did a fantastic job explaining the different syrup grades and flavor profiles, and it was fascinating to taste how much they vary. Everything felt fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. The grounds themselves are beautiful, especially in winter. With a deep blanket of snow covering the landscape, the farm felt peaceful, scenic, and exactly what you hope for when visiting Vermont in February. If you're anywhere near Montpelier or Barre, Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is absolutely worth the stop -- for the experience, the views, and one unforgettable maple creemee.

Bought some of their delicious maple syrup, a couple regular bottles and a verity pack. We got a couple creamees nice on a humid day. Went out and about and watched an educational video on how they get the sap from the trees. There is some equipment in that same area which is cool to see. It's Very rustic surroundings, you can tell this is where hard work is done. We walked on the trail to see how the hoses run down from the trees to the barn gathering the sap from the trees. Wishing them nothing but the best with their up coming season for their business.

This trip, we enjoyed a milkshake, Skinny Fries (they were out of poutine), Noah's Ark, and Breakfast Monster. The house bbq sauce was chosen to accompany the fries: not my favorite bbq sauce; the fries were crispy and well salted. I hope to try the poutine on another visit. Noah's Ark was a nice blend of sweet and savory. The sausage was ok, but probably would try another meat choice next time. For pesto lovers, the Monster will really scratch that itch! Overall a good experience worth repeating. See you next time...

I haven't been to a Skinny Pancake since I received the devastating no-more-gluten-for-me news, so I was glad to see that they have a buckwheat crepe option for us gluten-free dweebs. I ordered the apple & brie crepe. I was informed that the hash purples go into a shared fryer, so they're not totally gluten-free. I accepted my future stomachache & ordered them anyways, because they've always been my favorite item on the menu. Service was friendly & prompt. Find a table, order at the counter, & they'll bring your food to you. The hash purples were totally delightful, as expected. 5 star color, too. The crepe was unfortunately very underwhelming. It was super thick & the texture was kinda ominous. I didn't end up finishing it. They might just need to tweak their gluten-free batter slightly to get the balance right. I believe in them (: Overall a fun lunch spot in the marvelous capital of Vermont.

Some of our favorite dishes consisted of the brown butter lobster buns with old bay aioli and lemon (Will also made a vegetarian version of this with cherry tomatoes for one of our family members); hanger steak with chimichurri, peppers, and onions; and a Parisienne gnocchi with freshly foraged mushrooms, baby kale, and dijon crème fraîche.
