Very polite customer service. Creamees are great! This is a good summer stop if you're visiting and in the area. There's a few shady spots to sit that overlooks the Winooski river. You may just spot a woodchuck too! The prices are reasonable and they have other foods besides creamees. Very family friendly environment, though it is very close to the road and parking lot. So be aware of that if you have little ones. All in all, I definitely recommend visiting this places whilst it's open in the summer! read more

Dairy Creme may be a little bit backwards in calling it a "creamee," but it's Vermont - what else would you expect? This place is AMAZING! I love CREME! It is a much creamier, much more delicious version of soft serve ice cream. I had the black raspberry and choc twist in a cake cone, and it was spectacular. Also amazing that is was so cheap - a small was just very $2 and had TONS of creme! Loved that there were Sooo many options for flavors and toppings and mix-ins. They have some seats outside on the river, which was nice, Only problem-. No bathroom only port a potty. I would definitely stop by this place again, especially since it is just off the highway! read more

After watching the food channel, we decided we need a creme so we want to the Dairy Creme to get our fix in. It was my 1st time there and i enjoy looking at the creme stand and there were tons of things to order from creme, sundae, ice sandwiches, hot dogs and fries and after that u need to choose what kind of creme flavor you want and if u want any topping or not. Personally I got a medium maple creme and it was tasty and delicious. I wanted to try their butterpecan but i know i wouldn't be able to finish it. It was extremly cold outside so we sat in the car to finish our cold dessert. I am giving this place 3.5 just because it is just a fun place to go w.your friends or just by yourself to get your sugar fix it. read more

Bummer! Stopped at the DC for the first time this season and was SORELY DISAPPOINTED. Prices may (or may not) have risen slightly from last year...but it's still a fairly solid value - size-wise - by comparison to most (two mediums was just over $5...the DC 'medium' being equal-to-or-greater-than most others' 'large'). The intensely disappointing thing is that the cremee recipe itself has clearly changed. Back in the day, this was a superior, rich and flavorful cremee with an almost miniscule granular consistency...each granule bursting with flavor. It was was heavy and delicious. The cremee we had there this year doesn't even begin to resemble that. It's more like that whipped up, air-poofed stuff that you get at the cheapo-100-flavors cremee stands. There was hardly any flavor all all to the vanilla or the chocolate (we had twisties), and the texture was kind of like softened Cool Whip. SO disappointing as this has long been our go-to cremee stand, even though we live 50 miles away. For the past 20 or so years, any time that we could find an excuse to drive anywhere near Montpelier, it was a given that we would be stopping at the Dairy Creme. We'll give them one more shot this season but, if the recipe stays as is, we will, sadly, be looking for another, Real Cremee destination. read more

I'm not sure how this ice cream has such rave reviews. It was one of the worst soft serves I've had. Also once it was served (on not too hot a day) it was pretty much melted, which completely ruined the consistency. Wow! What a throwback this place is! A huge menu, with every ice cream novelty you can think of! They even have "blizzards" which I assume they are allowed to use that name only because they were around long before a certain other chain. The chocolate shake I had was as satisfying as you'd expect. The hot dog was nothing to write home about, being of the low quality mechanically separated meat variety, nonetheless it was giant-sized! Cash only, so come with the dolla bills y'all! based on the hot-dog I couldn't recommend the food, but I'll still probably end up trying other food on the menu eventually due to my sheer curiosity (which hasn't killed this cat). read more

When I first moved to VT, I was so confused by the concept of creemee vs. soft serve. Not a stellar visit to the Dairy Creme. We asked if they could put more Jimmies on our cone. Not an outlandish request. Yea for 10 cents they would. WTH?? (10 cents isn't a big deal it's the principle of the matter I would have paid 50 cents) We aren't asking for a dish of them on the side. We just wanted our cone covered. We usually go to Simons and they know what's up which is saying something considering they're a gas station. Simons ice cream and cones have a much better flavor as well, not at all bland like Dairy Cremes is. The guy at Dairy Creme argued with us about us wanting Jimmies for "Free" no Buddy we just wanted our actual cone covered normally. He then proceeded to say "Tell me who actually covers the entire ice cream in jimmies"....... Simons does buddy, the proof is in the picture!! But hey you enjoy that $1.10 I put in your tip jar at the beginning of the long ass line for a subpar ice cream that is the size of a kiddie cone. We went to Simons after to just buy 1 cone so we could prove our point. Let's just say a happy customer is a returning customer. It would have taken 2 seconds to put the Jimmies on to keep a customer satisfied but instead you chose to argue about it. Now you lost a customer. read more

EPIC Creemee stand. I'm not sure how you spell it, but in Vermont, it's a CREEMEE not "soft serve". Anyhoo, it's always a blast when we go here. They have a cool website, if you need to find out which flavors are being served, I prefer the surprise effect. I've sampled many of their cremee flavors, non dairy, frozen bananas and even some fried food. The chicken tenders are HUGE, you get two of them; they are large and cooked to perfection. The cremees are also HUGE. I always get the "tiny tot" and it's just the right amount. I noticed some other yelpers saying the black raspberry pairings are "weird", but my husband ALWAYS gets the black raspberry twist. EVERY TIME. He even got the black raspberry and CINNAMON twist. He's an adventurist. I almost always end up with the nondairy selection, simply because of the flavors. The last two times were maple with butter pecan and almond and amaretto, which was amazing, I would suggest the chocolate dip with that. Also, maple with a chocolate dip is great. Service is swift, even if there is a line, they offer everything under the sun, except hard ice cream. Dips, sprinkles, sundaes, whatever. You can either lick away at a bench, over looking the Winooski(?) river, or in your car. Two people can easily get stuffed for $4 and your change is dispensed from a super cute elf. On your way back, as they are located slightly out of the way, I suggest visiting the Green Mount Cemetery, to maybe walk some calories off and check out that beautiful historic area. Cookie dough is just plain vanilla ice cream. When I asked one of the ladies if it was right because it just tasted like plain vanilla, she goes "yeah, we know. It's not the best". Are you serious??? I absolutely loved this place! I had a creme and my boyfriend had an ice cream sandwich; They were so big, and so thick, that we didn't even need dinner that night! It was the best creme's I'd ever had; so thick and so creamy. And you can get just about any topping you can think of! I can't say enough about this place! Well done. read more

Just got home from there,,,kind of disappointed tonight. This has been our favorite place to go for cremes for years and we go once a week most all summer. It's a half hour from our home. We heard it was open and couldn't wait to get there, I don't think we will go back. They have changed their recipe. It's to whipped tasting now. My hubby ALWAYS gets a med. vanilla because he loves their ice cream taste,,,he got one tonight and took 2 licks and tossed it. I didn't care for it in my raspberry sundae either,,,but I ate it. I paid for it and it's to expensive to waste. Unless we hear they have gone back to their original recipe, then I guess we won't waste our gas to go back when there are closer places to home to go that have the ice cream taste. This place is awesome!! It's really too bad more people didn't take the time to realize what was going on before reviewing. It used to be the Dairy Creme switched flavors every week trying to get everyone's favorite in as many times during the summer as possible. Now you can get any flavor you want any day of the week! Not only that you can even get candy mixed into the creemee! This happens because they take the time to custom make your creemee for you. What other place will mix your flavor into the creemee on order? Yes, it makes the creemee "lighter" as part of the mixing, a small price to pay for having your fav flavor available every day. If you want the heavier creemee just order off the "Today's Flavors" menu. Those flavors are in the traditional machines. The "old" machines that make the super heavy creemees were made in the 50's and require a lot of maintenance. They don't run every day anymore. This local creemee stand is going above and beyond to make you the flavor you want every day of the already too short season. They are still running two of the oldest machines in the United States when most people would have stopped putting in the effort of maintenance long ago -- just to bring you that unique level of quality the days they can. Sad some people don't realize the gem this place is. I highly recommend it! read more
